The only BBQ place I will eat at in Central Arkansas. Meat is top quality, the sauces are fantastic, and service is always spot on. The potato salad is pretty greasy but the beans are great. Locations are always well staffed and clean. I wish rolls and buns would come out heated, but that's a small nitpick to an otherwise perfect food line up. The only criticism I have is the Jesus figurine dispenser near the door in the Bryant location. It's a kid's toy dispenser, but with "collectable" Jesus themed figurines. I've always loved eating at the location down on Cantrell. I was happy that they opened up this one in Bryant since its a lot closer to where I live. Today I ordered the sliced brisket plate with potato salad and fries. The potato salad is as awesome as it always is. I've tried to make my own at home but its never as great as theirs. The only complaint I had was that the brisket didn't taste the same as it does on Cantrell. It just didn't seem as fresh with that good smokey flavor, crisp on the edges and steaming with flavor. Maybe they need to have one of them boys from Cantrell come show them how to smoke it right. It was still better than any other BBQ joint in town though. read more

I never really liked BBQ joints til my hubby made me try it 8 years ago in LR. Best BBQ I've ever had. I always get the brisket plate. It is sliced thin and easy to eat. BBQ sauces are all great. They have really good food there I would 10/10 recommend the ribs. If you want to split the bill in half they can get it done but it might take a bit for them to do so. When people are around the atmosphere is nice and the staff is friendly. It's also very clean and nice. read more

While visiting Arkansas, we wanted some bbq on our last evening. Whole Hog. Was enjoyable. It is a walk up and order at the counter kind of place. There is plenty of seating available. We had the brisket plattter, the pulled pork platter, and the 4 bone rib plate. All were pretty good, but not the best bbq. One of my sides was the cheesy corn, which is something i had never tried or even heard of.I'm still unsure how I felt about the dish. I don't think i would order the cheesy corn again. But i tried my husband's potato salad, and it was very tasty. Definitely a baked potato taste. We all would order the potato salad again. The different meat items we ordered were decent. Nothing spectacular, but we would eat there again. It was fun trying the different flavors of bbq sauces on the tables. Our favorites were the #2 and the #3 (which is a spicier version of #2). I also liked the #5 which was a sweeter sauce I thought I could taste molasses in. We didn't care for #6, which was a mustard bbq sauce. I only gave 3 stars because it reminded me of every other chain bbq joint, such as City Barbecue. But it was ok. read more

Good food. Service was a little strange though. Guy in the kitchen kept making mistakes and the cashier girl was arguing with him in front of everyone. Meat was good, hardly any fat. A box on your table contains six sauces for you to try, with the hottest being stashed behind the front counter upon request only. Dining room area was clean, free pop refills. This location was a get your own plate from the counter after your number is called, but leave your plate on the table when you're done type arrangement. Food ok, but watch the shady cashiers. Wanted to order ala carte, but the cashier suggested plates so we'd save a few dollars. Two plates came to over $19. After I paid, I figured out that it would have been about $13 ala carte. The cashier then incorrectly refunded $4 hoping I wouldn't notice and finally the correct amount. We came in at 8:30 on a Saturday night and my husband and I both ordered loaded fries with pork. They clearly ran out of pork and didn't have enough for both orders but weren't willing to make more or tell us and tried to mix chicken as a filler on one plate. It was very obvious- we had a plate of pork vs the chicken to compare but when I asked they just told me they were "different cuts of meat". Can you tell the difference in pork and chicken? Me too. So that was upsetting that they blatantly lied to me about it. But the overall quality of the food was good. If you like bbq I recommend this place, especially the brisket and pork. A friend and I had the half rack of ribs each they where so dry & tough that you couldn't eat them. Management sent us home with a full rack to replace them they where just as bad. Never again 35.00 to much to pay for potato salad & cold slaw. read more

My wife and I stopped at Whole Hog as we were passing through the Little Rock area just after Thanksgiving 2014. We have plenty of excellent BBQ spots in Saint Louis, but were intrigued by the enthusiastic reviews on Yelp. It was excellent. I had brisket and my wife had the pulled pork, and between us, we had several sides: potato salad, french fries, and cole slaw. The meat was smoky and moist, the sides were tasty (though I didn't care for the skins in the potato salad), and the sweet tea was the perfect accompaniment to the meal. We'll be back. read more
