We had to eat here when we were traveling through Little Rock due to its historical significance to one of our former president's campaigns. The service here was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed looking at the photos and memorabilia over the walls of the restaurant. Came here for our last dinner in town and my coworkers had been the year prior. I knew what to expect going into it since they'd talked about how much food you get and how the sides aren't the best but the meat itself is good. I got the 8 oz filet and swapped the dressed salad for a regular house salad. I thought the filet was okay, I ordered medium rare and it came pretty well done compared to my coworkers who also ordered medium rare. I also thought the marinade was a bit too salty. My favorite part of the meal was the fries, they were delicious and crispy. The toast that comes with it is pretty good and we didn't touch the potatoes. I still think they need some more varied sides instead of all carbs, but I was glad to have the salad. It's definitely a dive inside, but our waitress was super sweet. I would probably return and ask that my steak be cooked a little rarer to make sure it isn't as well done. read more

I had been out and about from very early morning and had not stopped to eat all day so I ordered a triple cheeseburger w/ sautéed onions and fixings. The bun was soft and held up almost to the end, the patties looked to be about 6oz each and there were 3 slices of cheese. The fry portion was just right and again a favorite for me. Prices were excellent, especially for the portion sizes and everyone was smiling and enjoying themselves while heartily trying to take down the oversized portions of food on each and every table. I have never gotten good service here. It's always been average. Also there is no local beer, or any beer for that matter, on tap here. Honestly this place is extremely over rated. Went on our 56th anniversary. Split a Tbone. Service was very good as were the fries. We ordered medium. What we got was almost well done. Very little pink, tough as shoe leather. I gave up after about three ounces. Took it home to our 80 lb Lab and 27 lb Terrier, both meat lovers. They eyed it for awhile but after a bite they went after it. The only decent steak I had in the last three years was the Butcher Shop in Memphis. They are always overcooked. I'll go back to Does for the tamales and maybe hamburger steak but I'll not trust them again on steaks. read more

She even suggested the sauces we needed and brought every single one to the table! For example the portions are Huge! And we wanted to share one steak but not all wanted a med rare steak she told us she couldn't cook most rare and one side well! She's the best! Omgosh Delicious! 6PM Doe's was the place to be on a hot Sat. summer night. It was already packed and staff hustling, handled the crowd well and our wait (two couples) was not long. Out of porterhouse steaks so couples split equally great T-bone - quality beef cooked just right rare and medium rare. Came to Doe's with a group of ten for dinner on our last night in town for a conference. The place was packed inside and out. They pushed a few round tables together for us on the back courtyard patio. Apparently the back patio is also where the only "smokers outpost" is, because there always seemed to be one, two or three people standing in the corner puffing away. It was late September and the weather was perfect for sitting outside, both for the customers and the cockroaches. And the roaches were all over the place. Nobody seemed to mind. Our server brought our huge, perfectly cooked steaks to share along with potatoes, salads and bread. Everyone loved their food and the cockroaches hung out on the walls and watched us eat.
