The staff is friendly and they are working hard to keep up with the customers coming in. However, they definitely have some room for improvement. The chairs and tables were sticky (probably didn't get a chance to wipe them down between customers). I checked in on Yelp for a free coffee/beverage but the cashier charged me for it anyway. Walked in and noticed 3 teenagers just gossiping about life...which is ok...but when I started asking if they had any hot drinks like Carmel Macchiato or something similar, they just blurted out..NO! THE MACHINE IS BROKEN...didn't offer to recommend anything else which I thought was strange...but they were too involved w/ their conversation, probably from what happened the night before since this was Saturday morning. The young girl who was working the register was very nice, however I don't recall her having her hair pulled back and I felt uneasy about that, as I watched the other girl behind her, put her hair in a pony tail and then go back to making orders. Dont waste your time. I came here to for the first time with my son. I live local and always past by on my way to work. I decided to take my son here before going to the farmers market. $50 for 2 reheated crepes and 2 smoothies! The staff are young and need more training. The owner and staff arguing in front of us. Found this little gem hidden in old town Poway. Plenty of parking in the back.. Inside is decent- fairly small. But you order at the register and they bring your food to you. They also have a water machine for you to get cups/ drink water. We ordered the kitchen sink crepe, chicken pesto crepe and the banana sea salt caramel waffle. All were delicious!! Very flavorful! I even enjoyed the subtle flavor and texture of the crepe with all the fixings. Yum! The dessert waffle was also delicious!! My only reason for 4 stars is because the cook (who I believe is the owner) forgot to put on gloves while making the food.. So when we walked in at first, I saw him flipping the crepe with his fingers and the spatula .. Germs spread so easily (not to mention I heard him coughing) so that plus the no gloves- made me a little uncomfortable to be honest. But I do think he may have forgot to put them on, however- I do believe it's still worth mentioning as I hope he remembers next time. Also when I opened the Inside of the Chicken Pesto Crepe, I saw some wilted greens. :/ I do plan to try their location in San Marcos- as I believe this business is family owned and so I do want to give it another try. Favorite place to get crepes in the poway area! They have both sweet and savory options and great portions. My favorite are southwest crepe and the caramel banana crepe. My friend wanted to take me out to eat for my birthday, so I looked for a place that wasn't too far from her home. I couldn't choose between the two eateries that I found, so she decided on this place! Wholly crepe is a small and casual restaurant with lots of sweet and savory options, so it was hard to choose which crepe to get. They also have sandwiches here, but that's not what we came here for LOL. The guy behind the counter suggested the Southwest crepe, so we ordered that and a mixed fruit crepe with caramel and chocolate sauces on the side, per her request. We were given a number and waited for our order to be ready. The Southwest had chicken, bacon slices, avocado, cheddar Jack cheese, Chipotle sauce and it also came with a slice of watermelon. This crepe tasted amazing! It was extremely flavorful and the bacon bits were delicious and crunchy. The watermelon slice was a nice added touch since it was such a hot day. I also enjoyed the sweet crepe as well. I'm sure the presentation would have been much better with the sauce drizzled on top, but that's okay since we asked for it to be on the side. This is a cute little shop located in Old Poway. Looks to be family owned and operated. We were quickly served by a friendly gentleman behind the counter. I got the chicken pesto crepe and my friend got the strawberry hazelnut one. Both crepes were made fresh so took they some time to come out. I liked that they had some tables set up outside to enjoy our food. Husband and I ordered the Kitchen Sink crepe and the Alegria Liege waffle. Although I'm not a huge fan of the texture of crepes, it wasn't bad. The Liege waffle was good. You don't need syrup as the sugar is in the waffle itself. Tip for owners: the plastic ware is pretty flimsy. Wondering if there is thicker plastic ware, or invest in real silverware? I went to France this summer so I must be spoiled now when it comes to crepes. I was excited to go to Wholly Crepe as the crepes looked delicious online. I'd say they're average for crepes. The crepe itself was thicker than I am used to (again, I was spoiled with true French crepes in summer) and also less flavorful. My kid got a liege waffle which he devoured. The waffle seemed a bit overdone but he loved how much fruit they put on top. Also got a caramel latte with oat milk. It was decent but warm, and not hot, when it came out. Service was slow. A little bit off the beaten path, we had been here before when it was a cafe'. They have free parking(lots of it), pretty much across the street from the Hamburger Factory. Very reasonable price, we were out at around $30.00 with drinks! Gotta get to it.... Ambiance/Cleanliness-It's a pretty standard box-like cafe' with some nice art of the walls and a glassed off kitchen/prep area. Very clean, fluorescent lighting gives it a bit of an unintended industrial vibe. 3 stars Service-Excellent. The counterman was also the chef and waiter. He did exemplary work and was quite friendly.....4 stars Food-delicious. My wife had the Matthea's-It has turkey slices, caramelized pears, brie cheese and a drizzle of honey. I had the Italian-Pepperoni, salami, ham, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and pesto mayo. There was a little bit of greens on the side, not quite a salad, but more than a mouthful. Could have used some dressing. The buckwheat flour batter was savory, with a hint of sweet nuttiness. Texture was excellent. The fillings were more than fair. I have one small issue, the mozzarella cheese in mine was not fully melted and could have used a little more time on the heat. Even so, it's a minor quibble, these were some of the best crepes that we've had in San Diego, and will be back! 5 stars read more

The savory Bacon & Egg Crepe with semi-spicy Chipotle sauce was pretty large and very good! Recommend!! Can mix and match the ingredients, so you know it's made fresh (the stuff inside and obviously the crepe itself). I got mine without mushroom, but with everything else, including scrambled egg, 2 bacon strips, cheese, and onions. They probably should have cut the bacon strip once or twice, but it was fine as one piece. The crepe is served with a side of cantaloupe. This quaint establishment in old town Poway has a decent sized interior and few tables with stools and umbrellas outside. Don't think you can adjust the angle of the umbrellas, so 1/2 to 3/4 of the outside tables were covered in direct sun (sitting in the hot sun on a hot day isn't so relaxing). Good amount of flies in the area too... perhaps invest in a fly zapper outside? Really nice guy working the counter and cooking the crepes! For some reason, Yelp directs you to an outdoors store down the block, where I had to ask: "do you know where the Crepe place is?" And, in October 2017, they were doing construction next door, which made it loud and shaky. But that'll go away when the construction is done. read more

The sweet one (Berry Nutty) was amazing, though to be fair it was just mixed fruit and whipped cream, which is impossible to mess up. Still, it was good! The savory crepe was good (Caprese) but in general their savory options are quite limited. It's also worth mentioning that their savory crepe options are more like sandwiches in terms of ingredients offered. They likely won't have the savory crepe flavor profile you imagine when you consider savory crepes (if you're familiar with them). They are good, don't get me wrong. However the net effect is that it doesn't really taste like a crepe. Still good though! I literally did not get the joke in the restaurant's name until I said it out loud... lol! Visiting family nearby over holiday weekend and did a quick yelp search to find nearby breakfast spots and this place popped up with some great reviews. Wholly crepe were they delicious. I usually go for the sweet crepes but this time I got a savory one and it was fantastic. I got the chicken pesto and you could tell all the ingredients were fresh (and local according to the shop) so win win. The pesto was not overbearing at all and it highlighted the flavors of the whole crepe. The chicken was juicy and tender and grilled with the right amount of seasoning. I could have had another I ate it so quickly. My husband ordered the bacon and cheddar and he devoured his as well. He said the bacon was a little more crisp than he liked but enjoyed it nonetheless. I ordered a classic for my mom to bring back to her and even though she said it was too big she also really loved all the flavors. They go to the farmer's market every weekend she's not sure how she never saw this place. We will definitely come back next visit. Let me start by saying, this is a hard place for me to review. I stopped by here at around 9 on Saturday. Ordered the bacon, egg, onion and mushroom crepe with chipotle sauce. Customer service was good (music was a little loud), the place was clean, our order went in and was cooked fresh in front of us, it was cooked perfectly but I just didn't care for the crepe. It is my total personal opinion but I needed to give less stars for the fact that i didn't like the taste or texture. It tasted exactly like a crepe should and how eggs should and the bacon was crunchy but I didn't want to finish it. This is a nice little restaurant and old Poway is so nice. One recent Friday, around mid-morning, my husband and I went to Wholly Crepe for breakfast. I had been very excited to enjoy breakfast here after seeing their menu (I love a good liege waffle). Upon entering, we were greeted by the only staff member present and she told us that it would be a few minutes to take our order (she was wrapping up with another patron). No problem - we weren't in any hurry. A few minutes later, our order was taken and we stepped outside to find a seat in the outdoor dining area. Unfortunately, the tables were all pretty dirty, so we went back inside to find a table. Also unfortunately, inside had quite a lot of flies buzzing around, but the tables were clean, so we sat down with our coffees. Our food came out not long after. We ordered the mixed berry waffle, breakfast crepe, and coffees. The liege waffle was very disappointing. It tasted like something purchased in bulk (and not of particularly good quality) and defrosted before being put on a plate. Much of the accoutrement that was supposed to accompany the waffle (per the menu) was missing - when I brought this to the attention of the staff member, she apologized and hurried to fix it. I appreciated her efforts. My husband ordered the breakfast crepe and felt it was the crepe was lackluster. It didn't have anything special that would warrant ordering again. While the coffees were pretty good, the cream and sugar availability was problematic. By the end of our meal, we were underwhelmed by the food and frustrated by trying to ward off too many flies while eating. On a positive note, the customer service effort was great. The poor girl working behind the counter was doing everything herself and the shop had a few patrons - I gathered it was a lot for her to be doing singlehandedly. She was running around but was drowning in the orders. She did a great job of being pleasant despite being under stress. Nevertheless, the food wouldn't warrant us returning to eat at Wholly Crepe again. read more
