Well went back and while they now take orders directly and not via an app, service still stinks and sushi was not worth the price. Love that sushi came out before my $22 overpriced mixed drink, at least the sushi chefs are trying. My favorite was server dropping off check, literally chucked it onto the counter next to me without a word, even though I said thank you. Thanks for caring as always Wicker Park Sushi!

Wicker Park in Concourse C is a good option when you want lighter fare than the usual pizza and burgers of airport food. It's easy to miss as it's tucked at the very end of the concourse behind a wall. The entire ordering process is by QR code which was convenient, fast, and less germy but cushion seating at the tables was... ick and grimy, so I chose bar seating. The staff was friendly and fast while the food was mediocre sushi for insanely high prices. But, again, it's a great option when you don't want to contend with unnecessary flatulence on an airplane due to highly processed foods. I can't fault the restaurant for my $54 tab for the Tartare ($25) and seaweed salad as that high price tag is the norm for airport food.

Tidal wave and Don Diablo Amazing quality stupid prices!!

Excellent quality stupid prices !! 11am quite and relaxing:) Service interesting ;) Worth it overall !!

Given the food limitations in this Terminal, Wicker is my go to before I am sequestered in the aluminum radiation bombarded tube for hours. Had the tuna poke bowl - has a few sauces so if you don't like glop, watch out. It is good. Also had the shrimp tempura roll, uninspired but good.

Probably one of the best food options at ORD. Look, it's an airport, not Nobu. But it's GOOD and you won't get food poisoning. Granted the price tag is heavy but whatever. I had a special roll and a spicy tuna roll. Both very good. Only thing was one roll was served way before the other one came out so that was annoying. If you have time to kill for a sit down meal, this is a solid choice.

If you enjoy your airport experience as a solitary experience, this is your spot. You can stay plugged into your favorite audio book, podcast, or Playlist. You'll seat yourself at the bar, view the menu, order, and check out by using the QR codes clearly posted around the space. My meal arrived quickly, was fresh, and presented well. Don't expect a top up on beverages or hovering wait staff. Aside from bringing the food, you won't really see them.

I read about this restaurant as being one of the best airport restaurants at O'Hare (according to various sources), then while walking to my gate, it was nearby and I had the time, so I figured why not. They say the sushi chefs slice the fish onsite, and I was surprised by that when reading the article. While walking by, I saw a sushi chef with a large fish in his hand carving away, so indeed, that is true. Prices are what you would expect at a casual airport sushi restaurant. They're not cheap, but they're not outrageous either. When ordering nigiri, look to spend about $5 per piece, specialty rolls are around $22 currently, regular ones are in their teens, and most apps are over $10. The half dozen raw oysters are decently priced, but I decided to go with a popular selection with yelpers, the Spanish dynamite roll, and I added an iced tea. The roll, while not my usual roll, was the usual fish I order in rolls, and it was pretty fresh, which is most of what I am looking for in a sushi restaurant. I am not a big fan or imitation crab or crab mix, so I wouldn't say it's a 5 star roll, but it's a nice flavor that's fairly filling. Service was quick, as should be expected for a casual airport dining spot..

Decent airport sushi, service was really good and quick. I sat by the window and it was nice watching all the planes. They also have high tops with plugs. Prices are on the higher side but it's a given since it's inside an airport.

    Spinning app

This place is a complete fiasco from start to finish. Start with a sour hostess greeting you up front and taking you to your seat without so much as a smile or comment other than "one?" Then the app for ordering, which you access with QR code says to "see your server." There was none to be found so I chased down the hostess and she said, "Oh, I'll tell them to turn it on." Really? After about 3 minutes and multiple tries the app finally put my order through. I eventually got my water from a server (I guess) who asked if I placed my order. I got my poke bowl pretty quickly so that was nice but I found out it was mine from the sushi chef on the other side of the bar who was asking "poke bowl?" in a way that I could neither hear or understand her. The poke was fine but not worth the price. Five minutes later I got my spicy tuna roll which was dry and small and mediocre. Never saw the server again until using the app to pay was seeming not to work - it was just spinning and spinning for about four minutes. I showed the server that the app was spinning and she said I'll go check. Two minutes later she came back with my check and said it went through (along with my 2% tip for nothing.) Will never go to this place again.

Probably one of the worst sushi I've ever had. I would have to saw pre-prepared supermarket sushi is better than this. Had the dragon roll. The tempura was old and stale, no crunch at all. You cannot have tempura without any crispness. The rice was had. The roll was small. Service was non-existent.

    Poke bowl, to go order
    Masaru O.

I got the tuna poke to go. It was... weird. The sauce is more like a tangy hot sauce and it has greens and some other odd things. It just does not fit the standard poke flavor profile. Maybe I should've gone with a roll instead.

I almost decided to save Miru for our next visit, but I'm glad I made time for breakfast here on our departure day. Located inside the St. Regis Chicago, the restaurant offers beautiful views. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. I ordered the Tokyo Breakfast. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with rice, a soft-poached egg, and salmon roe. The miso soup was slightly salty on its own, but it worked surprisingly well when enjoyed with the rice toward the end of the meal. Overall, a memorable breakfast experience. I'd love to return and try the lunch or dinner menu on my next trip to Chicago.

The sushi is phenomenal, as were our drinks... but the other entrees are disappointing. The karaage and duck yakisoba in particular in quality could be from any corner restaurant in Chicago. The service lends itself more casual, and I noticed they were consistently quite slow to clear our table. I don't think people come here for the food as much as the views. Overlooking Streeterville from this angle and vantage was truly jaw dropping and for this reason I still strongly recommend Miru.

My only critique is the pacing. Since the chef already had the fish sliced and prepped, I expected a smoother flow, but the meal took about an hour and a half for 14 pieces of sushi. It felt a bit slow, especially for a lunch service. That said, if you're looking for a reasonably priced omakase with quality fish, this is a solid choice.

Both were great. Our bartenders were lovely and very friendly. Found out this is a Malort tasting room and we were able to sample some different Malorts (the cocoa one was good!). Then we were taken back to our table for dinner. Our server was super friendly as well. Started with the miso soup and crispy tuna bites which were probably my favorite dishes. The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.

The restaurant houses both an omakase counter and an izakaya, but in completely separate spaces. The omakase side is an intimate, beautifully designed counter with around 10 seats. We were the only guests that evening, so the whole experience felt wonderfully private -- just us, Chef Shoji, and the fish. Chef Shoji opens the meal by presenting the actual fish you'll be eating, all flown in twice a week from Japan or Spain. It immediately signals what kind of meal you're in for. Both sides of the menu showed real craft and attention to detail. Service was fantastic -- warm, attentive, and never stuffy. At $210 per person, it's a special occasion meal, but one that genuinely delivers on the price. As someone who eats a lot of omakase back home in LA, I wasn't sure what to expect.
