1st off, I'm not big on sending "reviews". And I'm sorry, this is going to be a bit long, But it's a solid "play by play" of what you can expect: My wife and I made an 11 hour round trip (plus dealership time and lunch stop) from Iowa to make a purchase on a 4 year old Dodge Durango. And full disclosure, we did not anticipate buying from Wickstrom. Before they were on our "radar" we had a deal going with another dealership. Long story short, the other dealership had very poor service, and DROPPED the ball badly.... So as we were still parked in the parking lot, I called Micaela Limon from Wickstrom, and she gave us exceptional service from the get-go, and stayed late to make sure we were all taken care of! HERE GOES: I told her what we were interested in, and without being asked, she took it upon herself to walk out and find the vehicle in the lot, and personally look it over for us. She then sent me a video confirming it was there, and that it looked to be in great shape! We told her we were "on the way" and by the time we showed up, She had the vehicle out front, freshly washed, and ready for a test drive!. (SO THAT WAS THE FIRST HOUR AFTER MAKING CONTACT...) My Wife and I had a LOONNG day, feeling beat, & like we wasted the trip, So we weren't in a great mood pulling into Wickstrom.... But our mood's changed quickly! It was a super classy environment, and the service from that point on grew! Very friendly staff, which a good handful of them made it a point to either hold a door, or stop and chat quick. We got a quick tour of the facility and some background of what they're all about, how they came to be, and what they aspire to do for their customers. I was actually very impressed! We made the deal, shook hands and jumped in our new (used) car for the 5+ hour drive home. Micaela knew we were hitting the road late in the evening, and wouldn't be getting home until after midnight, so on her own accord, She called us the following morning to make sure we made it safely. I MEAN COME ON!!! haha. How great is that! We've since received an email and a phone call from one of the owners thanking us for the business, and making sure everything went smooth. As well as a 2nd follow up from Micaela to make sure the 1st week of ownership is what we expected! So by saying they've proven to truly value the customer would be a huge understatement!! They're fantastic! They're not pushy, and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who's in the market for a new or used vehicle!! I've bought 19 vehicles in my 17 years of driving, and this was by far the best experience I've had yet. Thank you to everyone who helped us! You literally saved the day for my Wife and I!! I bought a Ford Fiesta from Wickstrom Ford in June 2011. I now give the dealership a top rating because Richard Wickstrom contacted me re my initially negative review to discuss the issues or lingering distaste that prompted me to finally write a "warning" review. I believe that I had good reasons to arrive at the lingering conclusion of having been taken advantage of and the subsequent sore feeling. I felt like I had been handled a little roughly, that an extra was jammed on me. However, as stated above, I now give them a top review now simply because he discussed the issues with me. In retrospect, instead of assuming that it would be futile, I should have tried to speak with someone at the dealership within a couple months after I bought the car. Instead, I settled into my overall tainted impression of the sales transaction & figured Wickstrom is the same as every other car dealer (fill in your own impression or definition of that). After speaking with Richard, perhaps I have been mistaken all this time. At my request, Richard emailed literature on the Paint & Interior Protection Package that I had purchased & he assured me that should I need it, it would be of value to me. Note that after we talked and he listened to & resolved my concerns and complaint, he offered me an oil change coupon. And in fairness to Wickstrom Ford, I advised that I would edit my initial Yelp review solely based on him reaching out to me and resolving my soreness about that one aspect of the sales transaction. I didn't complain to extort an oil change coupon out of him. My advice to you: Give them the benefit of the doubt if you feel sore after buying a car from them or having service done. Go and talk to one of the owners, such as Richard. They are human and have a lot to lose if they routinely anger and rip off customers for short-term sales figures. So I think that they will listen to your concern or complaint and will seek to resolve it reasonably to your satisfaction. read more

Never disappoints! Another Great experience! I recently leased my 5th Ford vehicle from this Dealership! In my opinion Wickstrom and their family is the BEST dealership in the Country! Words that come to mind are; Professionalism, Loyal, Honest, Friendly, Non-Pressure, Educational, Transparent and Fun! It's almost like they knew what vehicle was best for me before I even walked in the door. The one I would love the most, while staying in my budget and expectations! On this most recent experience I was expecting to trade in my previous Lease due to affordability and being several thousand miles over my allowed milage. Ryan Dicken the Financial Manager (as he always does), explained things very well, so I could understand. What was the most cost effective and would save me the most money, both up front and in the long run! At Wickstrom they actually look out for you, save you money, never make you feel pressured, and not try to just sell you a vehicle to maximize their profits. Throughout my entire experience, even months prior to my Lease being up. Chris Krason was Fantastic! He amplifies everything I stated above. He had 2 vehicles out front ready to show me, before I even arrived. One that we had already discussed that I was interested in and one I never even thought of. This way I could compare those 2 plus my vehicle I was returning. Patient, explanatory, great communication and honest! Never once I felt pressured, that I was being taken advantage of or rushed. To say the least I couldn't be happier with my 2025 Ford Bronco Sport!!! The whole experience was smooth, exciting and more than satisfied! I purchased my first car yesterday at the Barrington location. I am extremely pleased with everything from the car, to the dealership facility and especially the employees (Brandon, Joe & Chuck). They really helped make the car buying experience pleasant. I cannot say enough good things about Wickstrom Auto Group!! I went to the dealership after finding the perfect car on their website. When I went to test drive, I was warmly greeted and shown the car, which was used and in excellent condition. The test drive was fun and I got to know my seller, which was Brandon (who is awesome by the way). After the test drive, we went back to his desk to discuses numbers. He wasn't pushy in any way, which I appreciated. The car was right for me, except the price wasn't. Both Brandon and Joe helped to get the numbers into my price range. I have had financing and extra packages shoved down my throat at other dealerships *cough* M'Lady Crystal Lake.. so it was refreshing to just talk numbers and not be pressured to buy anything else. I was left at the dealership (checkbook was left at home), so I had to wait an hour in the waiting room area. The entire time, employees came to talk to me, show me around & provided me with a drink. They went the extra mile and took the time to make sure I was comfortable, which didn't go unnoticed. Also, the waiting area is amazing! There are tons of computers with free internet (also wifi), tv's that monitor the car repair shop, comfortable leather seating and even free Starbucks and soda fountain! Compared to most places, this was top of the line customer service! My overall experience at Wickstrom was excellent! I highly recommend purchasing, or servicing your car at this location. A-OK, but DO your homework, KNOW what your trade is worth and the sell prices in your area from the internet. NOTE the two star "fair" drop for a dealership that I have purchased THREE cars from, not that they seem to know or remember that. Sad to report but this dealership WILL pick your pocketbook if you are dumb enough to leave it open or you let them. Wickstrom was the only dealership that tried to steal our trade by offering us 1/3 of it's already low/fair price from Car Max. EVERY dealer that we got to a negotiating point offered us straight up at least 60% more than that and we did trade it for the CarMax bluebook very good price THREE times that price, which knocked down our sales tax. And here's the really sad part of this story. I am Ford A-plan so the price on my new car is set. If Wickstrom will try and job somebody who is from the Ford family who has purchased THREE cars from them, they probably will try and job YOU. Generally the salespeople and dealership is a cut above most, but note the trend from 5 stars to 3. They were pushing leasing and their financing; not listening to our preference to purchase. Leasing works for some and they make $$ on the financing. We usually keep our cars a long time, so there is no incentive for us to eat all that upfront first three years heavy depreciation with nothing to show for it. Perhaps all that new Jeep, Ram, Dodge real estate expansion may be putting some real pressure on what was a better dealership? Everything changes. (Happy ending. Let me start this review by acknowledging that this is the first review I have ever written...literally ever. It's not that I am hard to impress, rather I think that 5 star reviews should be reserved for situations/services that are unrivaled in the respective industry. And without a doubt, this is the type of service that was provided to me by Wickstrom Auto Group, particularly a sales associated named Kelsey. Kelsey was kind, responsive (even answering questions by text/email while on vacation), knowledgeable, and I would even go so far to say fun to work with. Out of the 15-20 dealerships I dealt with throughout my search, none came close to the professionalism of Kelsey - which was one of the main reasons why I decided to purchase a car from this dealership, even though 1400 miles from my house. Furthermore, when I arrived from out of state, there were a few "issues" that I had with the car. However, given my short window in town and having traveled from so far away, I essentially signed a contract on a handshake from the manager (Brian) that these issues would be fixed. Much to my surprise, Brian and Kelsey had the issues resolved within a few days so that the car could be shipped on schedule to me. From start to finish, this experience and service was top notch. I would recommend this dealership to anyone irrespective of location, as trust in the auto industry is something rare to come by, but much appreciated when found. read more

My recent car buying experience a pleasure. I have purchased 16 new cars so far, so I have had a lot of experience with many dealers and brands. I have heard Wickstrom ads on WGN for a number of years and finally had the opportunity to make my way into the dealership. The staff went above and beyond, for me and for each other. I spent a lot of time at the dealerships looking at various models and brands. I started looking at the Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was working with Dustin Rocha and mentioned that the height might be a problem for my wife. Unfortunately, she lives with MS and that causes a few issues getting in and out of taller cars. Dustin talked to Adam Grubbs regarding the issue. Adam came over and said he understood the issue and that they would do whatever I needed to find the right fit for my wife. He offered to bring one to my home, let me take one home or just have he come by and they would bring one inside. I ended up coming back with her 3 times driving the Grand Cherokee, Edge, Explorer and finally the MKZ. Every time I came in, Adam and Dustin were there to help. They went out of their way to make sure that we found the right car for us. We found it hard to make a decision and they never showed any frustration or applied any pressure to buy. Dustin Rocha, Adam Grubbs and Eugene Hernandez did a wonderful job. We finally decided on the MKZ and I believe it is the right choice for us. read more

I worked with Carolyna in the sales department to purchase a 2016 Ford Explorer, and she was great (not pushy at all). The finance gentleman and the gentleman explaining the technology were also great...HOWEVER, the communication at this dealership is non-existent! I was told my vehicle would be at the dealer on Aug 13th. I made an appointment to pick up on Aug 14th in the morning, and the vehicle wasn't there (no call to let me know). They corrected the situation by getting the vehicle there that afternoon, and I came back in the evening to get it. When I picked it up, I noticed a defect in the windshield and was told they would replace it. I made an appointment to bring it back Aug 26th, and when I get there - no windshield (again, no call to let me know). They gave me a free oil change for the inconvenience, said the windshield should be there the first week of Sept, and they would call me. By Sept 10th, no call. I follow up and was told they would escalate it. I still didn't hear anything by Sept 21st, so I follow up again. This time I am told it should be there by Oct 5th. It is now Oct 8th, and I am STILL waiting for someone to follow up with me. It takes 8-10 weeks for Ford to build and deliver an entire 2016 Ford Explorer, but almost 2 months later I can't even get a windshield replaced - do business elsewhere people!!! read more

I unexpectedly had to purchase a new-to-me vehicle and I was referred to Wickstrom by my mechanic as a trustworthy dealership. He sent me to Todd Prestage who had things ready for me to view in my price range and had salesman Eric Wood work with me. This was my first major purchase since I have been widowed and I was caught off guard at how emotional I got during my shopping. Eric had a great sense of humor and endless patience (not to mention quick with tissues when it got emotional) to make this a positive experience for me. Just when we thought I had found a car that worked for me, I was given some help from a relative which allowed me to get an even better fit. Eric switched gears quickly and was very in tune to the needs I wanted to add. He then showed me another car that was perfect. Both Todd and Eric patiently walked me through the process and I have a car I love. Eric also took extra care to help remove my memorable items off my old car. There were a couple minor issues on the new car and those were resolved immediately. The customer service was outstanding and very personable. I just bought a 2024 Ford Maverick Lariat from Chris Krason. I'm not really one to be excited for the painful car buying experience with the back and forth and the wheeling and dealing with manager in the back, which is sort of why I went to Wickstrom in the first place. I found basically the exact truck I wanted very easily online with all the packages for what I considered a great deal close by and would be willing to pay the advertised price anyway. Staff was very welcoming upon arrival. Me and Chris got right into driving the truck I wanted to check out. I really liked the truck but I had a few issues to figure out with my HOA and Chris suggested taking the truck home and bringing it to HOA management to show them as they are used to me having large trucks and advertising on the side and ladder racks. This was okayed by HOA. After that the negotiations were simple. The paper work is streamlined easily. Chris showed me the maintenance center and the whole facility. I really appreciate the detail.
