I was in town and craving chili cheese dogs. I saw that a weinerschnizel was near by and decided that was for dinner. I'm just gonna say its been years since I had weinerschnizel and I wasnt missing anything. I drove to the restaurant and tried to go in and the doors were locked? Ok went to drive thru. The location is run down as all fk. Looks like no one has given a crap about this place in years. There was a line for hotdogs which I dont understand why cause its a hot dog it doesn't take forever to cook. Ordered a #1 with cheese and an extra chili cheese dog took a minute‍. Girls inside seemed more preoccupied with talking. The Dog was cold and the chili was mildly warm. The dogs are some cheap ass dogs they makes bar S franks look like a delicacy‍‍. Anyway ways ate them and was disgusted with myself! Let me tell you I've had weinerschnizel and this has definitely fallen off. He said yes, so that is what I did. When I got home there were items missing and the most expensive Item was their Bigfoot fries that are supposed to have a bunch of topping on them. They only gave me plain fries. When I called them they said they would not fix it, because it was an online order. They weren't even willing to give me the missing items I paid for. Their excuse is that I ordered it online, which they told me to do , so they can't fix an incorrectly prepared order if it was ordered online even though they are the ones who made it incorrectly. The plain fries they gave me cost $12.99 per order and I ordered two. They were supposed to have a bunch of toppings on them. The Combo #1 and turning the fries into chili cheese fries is my fav. I grew up loving 'em and now my kids and I'm sure my granddaughter will enjoy them when she gets old enough. I will say this I have never had an order wrong or take too long or they run out of something. Eh. I don't know about this place. They seem to be out of things often, that are on the menu. Then you don't get the vibe that they use the freshest ingredients. It's a very old location and I don't think they have ever renovated it. They seem to lean more to the drive-thru model of business. Kinda wish they had more of a dine-in area. And finally, I went there today to get a Chicago dog. And specifically requested an all-beef one (which is an up charge). I was willing to pay that. No biggie. Well I took my food to go (pretty much the main option), and drove on home, to go and enjoy it. I get home and realize though they charged me for an all-beef dog, they just put a regular one in the bun. Not cool. I think I'll look for somewhere else to get a hot dog, moving forward. Came here for the first time with my fam. We ordered the bundle pack that had 6 chili dogs with cheese and 3 fries. We also ordered the polish sandwich. The sandwich wasn't that great, but the chili dogs were perfect the way they are. They're normal average size, messy because of the chili cheese, but delicious. If you're looking for something cheap and simple, then this is the place to go. Not the cleanest or newest looking place, but the staff are friendly and fast. Super weird drive through. A triangular shaped building where you order your food outside, but then you literally drive into the middle of the building to pay lol. Affordable, quick, delicious. Ohh boy, a guilty pleasure spot for sure. Weinerschnitzel is a basic chili dog, and fast food burger spot. Chili cheese burger and a chili cheese dog are my go to staples here. The charm of Weinerschnitzel is that they know exactly what they are, and they don't try to be anything other than a cheap hotdog spot, and for this I love this place. read more

Meh. The drive-in experience is unique because you drive through the building, instead of around it. The food is really affordable, like any American hot dog should be. However, the food is just okay. The dog itself lacks that beefy flavor that good hot dogs should have. Also, the service is really mediocre. Love it here!!!! Robert and Becca went out of their way to be extremely helpful and courteous. They were so generous and friendly! Hadn't been to Wienerschnitzel in a while and we lovedddd their new brisket fries!! We got so much food and don't regret it at all! 5 stars for service and 5 stars for the food! Good God will someone just demolish this place already??? My mom used to tell me stories about how she and my aunt and uncle's used to hang out and eat their back in the day... I can't imagine anybody going there willfully.... It's a dirty ,grimy ,filthy looking place. The parking lot is a mess ,absolute wreck. The food is subpar and leaves a lot to be desired. Nobody working there wears gloves while preparing your food. this place is in dire need of a facelift or New Management ,something . It is absolutely disgusting. I've been here 4-5 times over the years, and the other night I reacquainted myself with the reason why. I'd say that Corndog 7 has better corndogs, but you'd have to at least go to the Woodlands to verify it, since the one at Post Oak Mall closed years ago. The corndogs at Wienerschnitzel have a rather spongy batter breading reminiscent of those frozen ones you find in grocery stores. The dog inside, as well as those in a bun have shrunk considerably over the years, and tastes like then slightly bitter cheapo boiled dogs my father 'cooked' for us (note the lack of nostalgia for generic dogs). My advice for the hotdog jones in Bryan: go across the street to Hot Dogs & Wings Etc. read more

My favorite fast food establishment, it's delicious every time. I've loved coming here ever since I can remember.

My first time going here, hubby hasn't been in ages. They definitely have an interesting variety of yummy fried food of all kinds. Wasn't overly impressed overall with quality of food, but I'm nine months pregnant, so I enjoyed it regardless. Next time I think I'll try one of the yummy looking hot dogs instead of the chicken schnitzel sandwich. read more

A new store opened in Lufkin this week. Wife and I ate there Wednesday and we had a great hot dog and chili cheese fries. Was really glad to see one here. Had one in Baytown I think in the early 70's and missed it when it closed. Prices are very resonable . Have several other items such as hamburgers and sandwhiches, floats and banana splits. You can pick from original-Angus beef or polish sausage on your hot dog. Also split a chili cheese burger. Got to go back and try the polish sausage sandwhich. read more

At 6 pm on 6/2/16 I went to Weinerschnztel on Texas Ave in Bryan, Tx . I had most hossible experience in my life at that restaurant. I went there because of some advertising that I had gotten in the mail. When i pulled up to drive thru area there was two cars ahead me which was okay. When it came time for to get to the speaker i had wait there for bout mibs before someone answer and said "what do I want" so asked if the are doing 4+4+4+4 special.  That I had gotten. Didnt see the special, but did see it  as crowd pleaser for $25. So I question it and lady on speaker sighed and made a nasty comment that she has to asked manager and sighed again. Was sitting there for bout 6 mins and car no one returned. I told my roommate forgot it we don't have put up or deal with this disrespect. As I pulled away she finally answer but by then to late. So I called to complain bout asked to a speak with a manager which lady other end she was so I asked her name she reply " you want to talk to manager." in nasty tone.  Asked again your name no response but could heard talking rudely about me in the background for couple mins then then came back to the phone. And yes I heard every rude comment she said in the back ground. She came om the phone and I ask are you the manager she replied " yes "and your named is she replied "Michelle" as I was making my complaint to her but Michelle kept cutting me off and making excuses for why her cashier was like that. As if she was blaming me for it,  well Michelle went on explaining that cashier dont codes or specials yet cause they havent being enter in yet. I mention what does codes or whatever it is give her cashier right to get sighed and make a nasty comment to customer for asking question about something. But was cutoff again by Michelle. So I start saying that employees should know about it the specials that are being offered whether not. Then Michelle cut me off again went on explaining that cashier dont codes or even know bout the specials that being run or offered. In return I reply what thats have to with her treating customers with bad attitude and  disrespectful to me and other customers that may ask also. Michelle replied " Thank you good bye and hung up as I was still talking to her. Didnt realize that she really did hang up until buzz sound came across line. I was dumd found that even happen.  Then made it even worst experience that a manager would even listen to compliant nor listen yo what I was saying.  Totally disappointing and lack care for anyone including customers. Still confused and puzzeld by that call.  So I went online to find a number to call about it problems/ compliant and  found number but it was no more longer in service. So called another store that was in Austin to find out how to make my complaint about the manager and cashier. And this how I got you info. Thank you to pleasant and nice guy who I talked to as explained what happen to me at that store location. He apologized for what happened even thou it wasn't in his area. read more

Still the same great Weinerschnitzel as it was when I was in school at Texas A&M. Buns are fresh, weiners are good, and chili is always hot and flavorful. Fries are great too. Staff is always friendly and service is top notch. Love the old A-frame drive through and glad they kept it. Outstanding! read more
