Uhm, this is a fast food establishment that specializes in hot dogs and chili - why in the world would you eat here if you're not here for both? I do admit, they do have some questionable food items, HOWEVER, that's up to you as a customer to either take it as it comes or avoid it at any cost. I would say that for the most part, if you're eating some chili related, you're good. I consistently order the following: -classic chili cheese fries ($4.49): fries topped with chili and melted cheddar cheese -chili cheese dog ($3.09): get an all-beef hotdog - it comes topped with chili and a slice of American cheese -mini corn dogs ($4.09 for 6): dipped in sweet, honey corn batter -sometimes a chili burger ($4.29): topped with their famous chili with a slice of American cheese served on a toasted bun One time I ordered the bacon ranch chili cheese fries ($4.89). They're topped with the world famous chili, shredded cheddar, chopped bacon and ranch. Wow. No. Don't do this unless you're super into ranch. It was too saucy. I also ordered the chili cheese jalapeno poppers ($5.00). They're golden brown poppers stuffed with diced jalapeños and cheddar cheese topped with the chili and shredded cheese. No thanks. It was no bueno. If you like chili, stick to the originals. It's consistent, salty, and good. Stop having lofty expectations for something that's supposed to be fast food. read more

Stopped by for a quick evening snack on 4/16/2025 @ 7:25PM. To get horrible drive through service.....horrible jokes, no suace packets and the window slammed shut before I could ask for mustard for my corndog. To only get home and see that the food was visibly tampered with, I played it safe and didnt eat it..... Word of caution, be careful with the disgruntled and disheveled drive through attendant (older male, with greasy dark hair). Better off visiting another establishment. read more

It's one of the few Wienerschnitzsels left in the area. When I saw that they had pumpkin spice dipped cones, I knew I had to go. We came there on a Tuesday night. No real wait in the drive thru to order, but it did take a couple minutes for our food to be ready. We got the: 1) 6 Piece Jalapeño Poppers: -Actually pretty spicy. Definitely spicier than the ones that I've had at AYCE sushi places. -Th only issue is that it's filled only with cheese, so the jalapeño flavor is probably more than likely artificial instead of using a real jalapeño shell. 2) Pumpkin Spice Dipped Vanilla Cone: -The pumpkin spice dip starts out runny but slowly solidifies into like a chocolate shell layer on top of the vanilla ice cream. -Very strong pumpkin spice flavor that goes really well with the sweetness of the vanilla ice cream. -Definitely my favorite. 3) Tapatio Chili Cheese fries: -Skip this. -You can definitely taste that styrofoam-y texture from frozen fries. -The amount of chili and tapatio wasn't enough to cover up for that and this became a mushy, undetectable mess very quickly. -This took the longest for it to come out so not worth it at all. 4) Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Shake: -Lots of peanut butter cups. -It's a standard vanilla ice cream shake with chocolate sauce and candy inside, can't go wrong with this. Websites states it opens at 9:00am, arrived at 9:40am waited 5 minutes just for an employee to come out and say they are not open. Smh..

I've been coming to this location since I was in high school, and have never had a problem. If I want a snack on my way to somewhere and I'm near this exit, I usually come here or to the Del Taco next door. There's never a long line, and the service is usually pretty quick. I also like it because they serve breakfast here. Not all locations serve breakfast, and if you haven't had the chili cheese and egg burrito then you're missing out. read more

My regular daily commute to work is less than 4 miles on neighborhood streets; today, I had an all-day training in Irvine. Suffice to say, the trip there and back from Arcadia was painful as a solo driver. On the way home, I gave up on the NB-57, turned off Waze, and worked my way through Diamondbar towards the San Gabriels. About to give the 57 another chance, I full-on impulse-drove into Der-Wien (what my brothers and I called it growing up), and slipped into the drive-thru. Age, time, health, and "frank"ly (did you see what I did there?), fewer Wienerschnitzels around means I rarely eat here, although as a kid, we probably visited the San Pedro location on Western twice a week (in reflection and retrospect, this may explain a lot of things...). Fishing trips to the Palos Verdes peninsula with my dad and give younger brothers often saw us stop in for a cheap "dinner," enjoyed with family while buckled safely to the seats of our parents' van. For this trip, I ordered up two kraut dogs and a Diet Pepsi (irony noted, thanks), and checked in to see a Yelp offer for a chili dog... oh well. Next time... next year... ok, never. Service was fine-- a nice guy who handed me my drink first while I waited for the bag o' stereo dogs. I was offered ketchup and mustard, and declined. As memory served, there was a little yellow added already, and that would have to enough. No sense in leaving a mustard packet in my truck as evidence of diet infidelity for my wife to find. The regular dogs seemed... smaller than I remembered. Maybe less salty? The sponge-dough buns were fine, the kraut not quite as sauer as I like or remembered... but for a kid who grew up With a Lithuanian Nana and a German Pop-Pop, it's unmistakable and still good, or at least good-enough. Nah, it ain't health food... heck, the phenylalanine in the Diet soda is probably worse for you than the nitrites in the dogs. But sometimes, Elizabeth, you just have to drive a truck too fast for traffic, balance a cup between your knees, and eat a hot dog, if that's what makes you happy. For me, I may have to take a few extra laps around the middle school jogging track, but the occasional salty indulgence here harkens to positive memories of childhood... and that's enough to offset an extra glass of water or two later tonight. I just have to make sure I throw those wrappers under something in the trash can. This is pretty much the only Wienerschnitzel in range of my house. I usually go on Sunday's (Cheat Days) when I'm in the mood for a hot dog. In general a pretty decent location. I think sometimes though they are understaffed on Sundays and the later you come the longer the wait. Matter fact I have had one of the employees apologize for the wait due to them being (drum roll ) Understaffed. The Food: The food is good. Nothing really special just your normal hot dog you buy at a ball game for only 98% of the price. I would also say 75% of the time i go the food is pretty fresh. There fries are pretty good. Street dogs can be good but when they crazy with the mayo....brace yourself. One thing that they definitely get a thumbs up on is their dessert's or " Tasty Freeze " You cannot go wrong with the blizzards. They usually give you a ton of candy blended in with it. If you really feel like that instant feeling of regret and packing on the pounds go with one of their banana splits. Very Very Good. It's not often you can find a place to drive thru that has great desserts. Once again i mainly just drive thru this joint when i feel like something besides a burger. read more

I'm what you call me a Wienerschnitzel expert. In college, I majored in Wienerschnitzel. I'm not even joking about this. As a kid my best friend's dad ran one and there was a constant supply of chili dogs and chili cheese fries at my disposal. I can tell you that I've tried everything on the menu - and then some. Now there isn't a Wienershitzel on every block so usually when I see one my eyes light up and tears start to come out. It brings back all those childhood memories of playing outside and eating chili dogs afterwards. There's a really easy judging system when it comes to Wienerschnitzel. I do it by the amount of chili and cheese they put on your chili cheese fries (the staple of every Wienerschnitzel meal). A lot of places will try to skimp out on the cheese or the chili or both. Nothing gets me angrier then opening up that box and seeing half of my fries not covered in the magic stuff. And every time I've been here I've always gotten a pretty decent amount. In that regards this place is okay in my book and deserves a thumbs up. Plus it's open 24/7! WHAT?! As far as what you should get? Come on what doesn't get better when you pour Wienerschnitzel's chili on it? If you haven't tried the Chili Cheeseburger, get it. Trust me. There's a combo where, if you are brave enough comes with a Chili Cheeseburger, Chili Cheese Dog, and Chili Cheese Fries. Note that consumption of all these items along with a large beverage might make you a bit sick afterwards. But by the next day you'll be thinking of doing it all over again. If you're not quite ready I recommend any 3 of those items on its own. A simple Chili Dog will do the job as well. Now there is one thing I wouldn't recommend.. and that's the Corn Dog cause to be honest it's nothing special. But if that's what you want I ain't gonna stop ya. What I REALLY recommend is getting a simple ice cream cone. It's like 79 cents and will put the biggest smile on your face. This cone blows McDonalds cone out of the water. You can get it dipped too if that's how you roll. Get it after your meal, get it while you drive home if you went through the drive-thru, shoot get it before and after your meal. Salty!! Manger, do you know the proper way to heat the chili?? It was way to salty...if you keep a full pot on the stove ALL day...it'll get very salty. The way to prevent that is to make smaller batches at a time. My family has a Der Wienerschnitzel, in LA, but since it's so far I try to support the ones around here, Diamond Bar. I love Wienerschnitzel, better than the other fas food chains around us. I know you have to buy the chili from the distributor, but it does give instructions on how to prevent the chili from becoming dark and salty. I know this, cuz I used to work there as a kid. I don't usually crave a hot dog, but today I did. This WS offers very friendly service and easy to get to drive through. Food was average, about what you would expect. Except my Chicago dog was barely warm, which was disappointing. The best thing was the pineapple lemonade which was full of flavor and not as sweet as you would think. It also had little chunks of pineapple at the bottom. I found it refreshing and unique for a fast food place. I hope the next time I crave a hot dog they still offer their pineapple lemonade, cuz it's gonna be a while. read more

Cheap cheap chili dogs. Yes yes it's cheaper to buy on your own and prepare but the convenience is well worth the asking price. The service here is also super friendly with smiles and first names everywhere. The place is very clean and anything that isn't is promptly cleaned. The food is made fresh and delivered to your table. Occasionally a homeless person may drift in but honestly they're very kind and polite. I usually end up buying them a hot dog or two cheap as they are. If you're hungry and want some good cheap eats pop on in. They even have burgers and chicken sandwiches. Good desert too! My only complaint is the lack of fiber but go home and pop some carrots or fruit down your gullet and problem solved. read more

Been coming here since I was a wee-little one and I still keep coming back. Corn dogs, chili dogs, junkyard dog/burger, the list goes on... along with some great deals! 5 corn dogs/chili dogs for $5! Service is okay, it's not the greatest but it's quite fast and efficient. Avoid this location, they cannot get an order right to save their lives. I have had chilie added to an order (never asked for chilie dogs), they have subbed ketchup when tomatoes were requested (and confirmed), they forget to put items in the bag. This location is a nightmare. They have never once gotten an order correct. This is close to my home so I kept hoping it would get better but the quality continues to get worse. This place is okay. The fries they use for the chili cheese fries are too cold therefore it takes forever for the cheese to melt. They also don't mix the drink if you get the flavored lemonades so the flavor is all on the bottom. I figured this out after i had finished most of my drink. Also don't bother coming here if you are in a rush, the wait is long and it's terrible in the drive thru. Update: I gave this place another try going through the drive thru and after repeating that we wanted a cherry coke 3 times, they STILL didn't get it right. When we got home, we discovered that we were given a diet coke instead. cherry and diet sound nothing alike...its obvious that the person just wasn't paying attention to the order and was preoccupied with something else. The part that bugs me is that if she was even the slightest bit unsure of the order, confirm it at the window instead of just handing us our food and slamming the window shut!
