These have sitting out since I arived under the hot fryer and it's a slow night food safety is key

oh my oh my oh my the fact that the cook has no gloves on digging his bare hands in EVERYTHING is crazy to me. I seen him kneeling down on the floor then he popped up out of the blue when I to the freezer grabbed my food out of a bucket with bare hands tossed it into the dryer from where he was at. then put hand sanitizer on and immediately went back into the same bucket no gloves on again tossed more chicken in the grease. wiped his hands on his pants and proceeded to garnish our food with no gloves on tomatoes pickles I brought it to their attention that I'm sitting here watching him. I am so appalled. this was 10/05/25 at 7:25pm he was cooking as if he was at his own house.

    Corn dog and funny hat!

I was craving a corn dog, and Weinerschitzel came to the rescue! There was no line in the drive thru, I feel that the dogs were cooked fresh cuz it took about 5mins, I was happy about that! The fries were a little limp.. not crispy. And.. as advertised at the drive thru menu they had these awesome hats for a limited time (see picture). I couldn't pass it up!

I got sick so I don't know if I would recommend this place. I mean, look at the dog.

I am not sure if I would recommend this place. I mean, look at the dog. So much mac and cheese

horrible customer service. the guy just threw my chili cheese dog in the bag unwrapped and the chili fries were halfway filled: he also didn't honor my coupon for a corn dog, only half the price. he also didn't give a receipt.

This is acceptable to serve to your customer?

It looks like they "precooked" the mini corn dogs and dropped them In oil a second time. Food was gross and inedible. Also out of any sodas. Might as well avoid this place all together. They used to be decent. I don't know if it's current staff/management or some other issue, but I won't be going back as a result.

Customer service hasn't been what it used to, so it was a nice gesture. The decor reminded me of In-N-Out, with its vintage feel. We both decided on the classic combo with the little burger, fries, and a drink. As we were waiting for our food, the place started getting very busy, and we were glad we got a spot to sit in. Once your food was done we were given our food in a bag. We were a little puzzled but decided to just use the bag as a tray to put the food on. The "little burger and fries" were not little to us and we were both glad we didn't upgrade anything to something bigger. The burgers were really good, just a little too much bun. We were pleasantly surprised that mushrooms and sautéed onions came on the burger, even though some might not like that. The fries were very crispy and hot which my husband loved. Everything was really good, but my husband noticed on an ad that they fry their fries in peanut oil. I have a slight issue with peanut oil, but some people could be really allergic. They should definitely let people know before they order. All in all, we will definitely be back again in the future. The employees were nice, the business was clean, and the food was good. Just be aware if you have a peanut allergy that they use peanut oil to cook.

Burgers are some of the best, but I'm not a fan of how soggy the fries are. It was some where that texture is intentional but I'm not a fan. Fun to eat peanuts while the food is made. One large fry is plenty for a family of 4. Restaurant was clean.

If you park your car in the drive/in spot, you can place your order through the menu kiosk which is available at each spot. If you rather order at the building and eat at one of the few table inside or outside, there is an order kiosk inside and one outside. The food is delivered to you by an employee. They used to roller skate out to your car to deliver your food, but I noticed the 2 people delivering food that day did not roller skate. I got the Double Sonic Smash Burger and it was very good with nice seasoning. My son got the Supersonic Double Cheeseburger and Strawberry Shake (my son really love their shakes). Overall rating: -Food: 4/5 -Ordering: 3/5 easy ordering through the kiosk, but the one inside the building was missing the menu, so unless you know what you want to order, there is no reference. -Service/Food Delivery: 2/5 because they lost the nostalgia of the roller skater delivering your food.

I was craving a solid chili dog and googled options in town, decided to hit up Fire Craft for the memorably-named "Big Back". My partner tagged along and ordered the Texan. The Big Back lives up to its name--there's a lot of meat on that bun--but every level of flavor hits. I swapped the jalapeño cheese sausage for a Louisiana hot link, and its flavor (enhanced by their signature "dirty water" seasoning) worked well together with a solid chili. Naturally, the brisket was the pièce de résistance--a great topping to stack on. The owner explained that the Big Back combines the sausage, chili and brisket of his friends' favorite orders all into one, and they work great together. The Texan (not pictured--we ate it too fast!) was arguably even tastier. The flavors were bright, likely on account of the candied bacon (not too sweet) and the unique cranberry sauce topping. Combined with the banana peppers and high-quality, all-beef frank, this made for a tasty, memorable, and uncommon flavored hot dog. Both glizzys were well-built and could be eaten standing, which we did immediately back at the car. We felt the menu is well-priced--more expensive weekend items like the Big Back came with a lot of satisfaction and satiety. And speaking to atmosphere, the owner is just a friendly, kind guy. He and another worker were kind and welcoming, serving us with the last two hot-dog buns they had, then gifting us a free bread pudding each. And wow was the bread pudding good--delicious, not too sweet, filling and a great way to cap a protein and fat-heavy meal. Highly recommend this entrepreneur and the delicious product of his hard work. Hope folks reading this drive over next Saturday and make a line down the block!

Super personable, great energy, and made the whole experience feel effortless. I ordered the peanut butter and jelly burger--smash-style patty with bacon, peanut butter, jelly, Tabasco, and pickles--and wow... one of the most unique and satisfying burgers I've had in a long time. It hits that perfect balance of savory, sweet, and nostalgic. I asked Paul what he would pair with it, and he absolutely nailed it. He introduced me to "Chimp My Ride" from Solano Brewing Company, a rich stout with chocolate and peanut butter notes that complemented the burger perfectly. It honestly brought back that childhood lunchbox feeling in the best way possible. On top of that, Chef Jamie personally brought out the food and took the time to connect--great conversation, great presence, and you can tell there's real pride behind what they're doing here. Within minutes, I knew I'd found exactly where I wanted to spend a hot summer afternoon. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between neighborhood tavern and craft beer destination. Vintage bicycles hang overhead, dozens of rotating taps line the wall, and the energy is lively without ever feeling chaotic. Whether you're catching the match, meeting friends after work, or simply escaping the summer heat, Rustwater has that welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay for another round. Following the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the Chicken Ciabatta from the specials board with a side of crispy tater tots, and it was absolutely the right call. The sandwich arrived beautifully presented on a perfectly toasted ciabatta roll with just the right amount of crunch. Inside was juicy grilled chicken layered with smoky bacon, melted provolone, crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and a flavorful pesto mayo that brought everything together without overpowering the fresh ingredients. Every bite delivered a wonderful combination of textures and balanced flavors. The tater tots were exactly what great tavern food should be, golden, crisp, and light on the outside with a fluffy interior. They became downright addictive when dipped into a combination of ketchup and a Ghost Hot Sauce that once they are out they are out adding a slow-building kick that complemented the crispy potatoes perfectly. As I enjoyed a cold pint from their outstanding rotating tap list, Spain put the finishing touches on a 2-0 victory over France, sending them to the World Cup Final. Great soccer, an exceptional craft beer, and a fantastic lunch, it doesn't get much better than that on a scorching summer afternoon. Rustwater has earned its reputation over the years, and it's easy to understand why. Friendly service, an outstanding craft beer program, elevated tavern food, and an atmosphere that invites you to linger long after the final whistle. If you're looking for one of downtown Fairfield's best spots to enjoy creative tavern fare, explore an ever-changing lineup of craft beers, and catch the big game, Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom deserves a place on your list. I'll definitely be back to see what's on tap next, and without question, those crispy tater tots will be making another appearance on my table with the ghost hot sauce, if still available, due to the company going out of business.
