My boyfriend and I were in this location yesterday. We loved the assortment of toys and treats. The gentlemen working was eager to assist us quickly and answer the questions we had on a particular dental treat product. Overall adorable store! A little expensive but that is to be expected in any pet boutique. We were pondering the selection of squeaky toys and kongs in plans of purchasing one when we overheard the woman behind the counter tell a customer they were going no longer offering the complimentary treats in the treat bowl at the counter because people were coming in and looking around, taking a treat for their pet, and then leaving without purchasing something. She said they were going to start charging for a pet treat at the counter. We left without purchasing anything because that didn't seem appropriate to us. Wiggleyville! We love these guys. They are the only ones in the area that carry the natural cat foods we need to feed our allergic kitties- Meric, Wellness, and they are always stocked with greenies! this is a really cute yuppie pup store. they have a ton of different dog toys, treats, and accessories. they also carry zuke's hip action treats, which is similar to dog crack. it's a blueberry-based glucosamine treat for dogs with hip and joint problems. i haven't been able to find it at the chain pet stores, so it's worth it to come up here for those treats. they also carry those cute gourmet puppy treats; pricey, but it's called a treat for a reason. wigglyville also carries a smaller supply of cat treats, accessories, and other supplies. i've never bought any cat supplies, so i can't really speak to anything for the cats. read more

I love this place. I took our 19 year old (yes you read that right 19!) here for a hair cut. Given his age he was in a bit of pain. I dropped him off and it was like night and day. I have no idea what they did to him but he was so full of energy and was jumping all over the place like he was on crack. sadly he never had a chance to visit again but if I ever get another dog (probably not gonna happen since I was bit in the face a year ago by another dog an dam now terrified by them) I will take him here. read more

I went here for the first year I had my dogs until I moved away. I had a problem with my dogs not eating and I have no idea the ladies name that halped me, but we did what she called the Pepsi challenge. My dogs not love their new Turducken and eat it without a problem. It solved the ear infections too my one dog was getting. Most amazing service. read more

We like coming here. We can bring Harry in, like most pet stores, and they are really cool with lots of good information. There are generally 3-4 people there working, so you don't have to hunt for help. And they really love dogs, so it a joy to come in. Their dog, Bacchus (sp?) is really good and greets everyone, and is really gentle with all dogs. So, it is a cool experience with good products and they care about your pets. Pretty good combination. Plus, Harry knocked over a bunch of pet food cans yesterday, trying to get to the birdcage, and they were very nonchalant about it. read more

There is something here for every dog at any size. Everyone working is knowledgeable and friendly. They are helpful with getting in my way of browsing. I always get my picky min pin his food here because they give me samples to test out first to make sure the picky prince will actually like the food. They carry west paw toys which are pretty much indestructible and squeakers last longer than I would like seeing Sheffield is squeaking Morse code messages with the turtle toy right now. A bit more expensive than some of the other pet boutiques in the area, but in my opinion time is money so I often opt to pay a little more just because it is closest to my condo read more

Wigglyville is amazing. As a customer there is a reason I traveled so far to come here versus going to other not even comparable stores. If you think the prices are steep, check out the competitors, they really are a steal and EXCELLENT customer service. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for, if you want quality products with a staff to back it up, shop here. If there is a food they don't carry, there is more often than not a reason for it. After a recent move to Brooklyn I realize I took Wigglyville for granted. I'm still waiting for a store as amazing. No luck yet. If only they'd open up a branch in brooklyn so that I could shop at a store that stands behind the products they carry versus simply carrying what sells. I went here today looking for the Ruff Wear Knot-a-leash after having called various places to find out they didn't provide this high quality brand of leashes/dog gear. Not knowing what to expect I walked into what may be my favorite pet store in Chicago! The place was absolutely beautiful and clean. The people who worked there were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They carry a variety of dog foods, leashes, collars, beds, carry cases, treats and other various things you may need for your little furry friend. (Yes they also carry stuff for cats as well!). I was only expecting to get the leash and go but I ended up walking around and spending over 60 dollars on other stuff. My pug's birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I plan on going back and buying him the birthday cake treat they have under glass at the counter. Check out the treats and other various goodies they supply under the glass case. Most of their products are natural, eco-friendly and long lasting. The best part if that they aren't one of those over-priced foo foo kind of places. I'm a fan! read more

They have a lot of items that I couldn't find at the regular pet stores - items for dental care and special health items. the best thing about this store is the service. every time I have gone they are more than happy to be help you find exactly what you need and answer any questions or give you advice (and it's actually good advice). they have never made me feel uncomfortable to ask a question, been unapproachable, or made me feel forced to buy anything. I cannot say enough about this store and how great not only the products are but the staff as well. My husband and I have 3 cats ages 10 months, 1.5 years and 12 years. A good friend of ours recommended we go see Hollus, the owner of the store as he feeds his dogs a raw diet and she is very knowledgeable about pet nutrition. We did and I have never been happier. The quality of the food that the store sells is top of the line and there are so many choices to choose from. She supplied us with multiple sample bags for the kitties to try out and they picked the one they liked the best. The cats have never looked better, their fur is stunning, they rarely get sick now and no more stinky litter boxes. I was ready the reviews prior to posting and I happened to notice a posting from 1/26/2011 by Kate N that is completely inaccurate and the reason I know this is that oddly enough my husband and I were in the store when this incident occurred. For starters, "the lady" working that day is the owner of the business and her name is Hollus. This customer came in to exchange a pair of boots that her dog did not want to walk in, understandable, some don't like it. She said she purchased them around the holidays. Hollus inspected them and agreed they had not been worn and agreed to the exchange or store credit. She asked her for the receipt to begin the transaction and the girl did not have it. She said one the the guys there sold her the boots and they would remember her. The gentleman that work there were not in that day so Hollus told her, no problem they would be here later in the week. She could come back and talk with the gentleman that sold her the boots and take care of the exchange/store credit, I thought this was a very nice gesture. Kate N offered to provide a bank statement showing the purchase and Hollus said that would be fine as well. Had that been me I would have gone home, printed the statement that showed the purchase and high tailed it back to the store. Also, knowing the boots were not going to work out I would have returned them immediately and not waited the length of time she did. All this said, here is the issue. These boots can be purchased in many places so to bring them back to a store without a receipt and then get upset because they will not take them back at that very moment is silly. It clearly states on the bottom of the receipt that you need it for returns/store credit, she did not have it with her and Hollus did not personally sell her the item. She was not belittled or lied to and Hollus was nothing but professional, she was trying to return an item without a receipt that once again can be purchased in many stores throughout the city as well as on-line. She was given the opportunity to either come back in the next day or two or provide a copy of a band statement showing the purchase. Instead she decided to post an inaccurate description of the way the event unfolded. read more

I have lived in the neighborhood and have been going to this store with my dog for over 4 years. I have always been happy with my purchases and the staff. A month ago I went in looking for a product, they had to order it and said it would be a week before it was in. I went in two weeks later to find out the status, the girl that works there ( in her late 20's) was so rude to me, telling me that she left me a message that the product was out of stock. I said that I never received the message. This is where she proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that she did leave me a message. I simply asked when the product was going to be in and her response was " I don't know and I am too busy to find out" This is horrible, especially since you are small boutique store. from the first time i entered this store, my dog couldn't stop wiggling her tail. wigglyville, to say the least! the staff was so attentive to my dog. she is a bit wild, and the staff member gave her a massage, which totally calmed her down! anyway, i went in there to buy her a collar that complimented her good looks and the staff member totally found one that brought out her beautiful eyes! i received so many compliments about my dog on the way home...thanks to this collar, i am convinced! this place is great...wonderful, friendly, attentive staff. they know how to make this entire experience amazing! never going to any other pet store again... read more

This is my favorite pet store ever -and one of my favorite neighborhood stops just to visit with the staff. The owners and staff deal with every shopper on a personal level, and their veterinary and holistic knowledge about diets, allergies and supplements is amazing. I've had to change my cats' diets twice now due to weight and illness issues and have worked closely with the folks at Wigglyville who ACTUALLY called me to see how things are going. Hello! Go to Petsmart is you want bulk options, but my cats' favorite treats, food and toys all come from Wigglyville. Try the little flat furry toy mice. Their prices may be a bit higher than other stores but in many cases, the sweaters are handmade in the US (which you will not find elsewhere) and the dog treats are made in a kitchen that isnt in a mass factory so you know you are getting something that isnt going to be recalled later. Also, the owner is very informative and EXTREMELY helpful if you just ask. I learned quite a bit about dog treats, and classes taught in Wigglyville. I was very impressed with the service and felt that even small amount of $50 I spent was important to the staff. I really like this shop alot. read more

He drags me here from time to time, once in awhile I drag him here. He loves the peanut butter rawhide. Second favorite is the liver. He also love the bakery treats on the counter. I have to agree they look as good, as I hope they would taste. Love the shop, the products, the amount ideas and creativeness that over comes me when I'm there. I have more fun making gift boxes of treats for new puppy on the block or if a friend has a new member in their household. The holidays etc.. But it is hit or miss with the staff. We love this place! We try to feed our pets good foods and we are new to the city so we were concerned we wouldn't be able to find a place to buy the unique brands we currently use. Well, we visited Wiggleyville to see what it was like and they had very good brands of food and we were able to make our pets' current diets perfectly. We also found ear health drops for our poodle mix. They have a wonderful selection of natural pet toys and treats and collars/leashes as well! They are super convenient for Lakeview residents as well. This store is a must-visit. read more

Scout is a rescue pup and although she isn't my first puppy, she's definitely the most emotionally disturbed one I've had. Anyhow, she chews through every toy ever given to her (no matter how strong) in a matter of mere minutes, so we frequent Wigglyville for bones, treats, kongs, and the toy of the moment. The prices are higher than your average Petco, but the service is worth it. I've been a customer of Wigglyville since they opened. I'm a 10-yr old pug. And, Wigglyville is a great one-stop shopping experience. Let me tell you my story. I can now with full disclosure admit that having eaten all the commercial grade food and treats available out there, I now only eat the best and it's from Wigglyville. Being a pug, I have weight issues, skin issues, you name it. My mum consulted with Hollus, co-owner of Wigglyville, and after various food trials, we found what works well for me. Hollus is very particular about proper nutrition. She has an enormous wealth of knowledge and information on what constitutes proper nutrition and she never stops researching this important field for us canines. Let me tell you how I got healthy. A while back, my vet put me on a prescription diet to reduce my caloric intake. It worked, but due to it having an extraordinary fiber content, I pooped 5-6 times a day. Sure, I lost a lot of weight, but I was not getting enough proper nutrition. I was always lethargic. Thus, my mum took me off of it and put me back on what we thought was a high grade of commercial food available at the big chain pet stores. What happened? I put all the weight back on. And, my poops tended to be too soft. So, mum tried to reduce my intake. Still didn't work. So after consulting with Hollus over and over again, it was determined that I should go grain/gluten free. Sounded expensive. Mum was unemployed and didn't think she could afford it. But, she was determined to make sure I ate well and stayed under a certain weight. Hollus researched what my caloric intake should be along with proper nutrition and target weight and we started the new feeding regime. What we learned was it was no more expensive that what I used to eat! Actually, it has become less expensive than the commercial grade. In order to achieve the proper nutrition levels, I had to eat more of the commercial grade food which is loaded with fillers - fillers that I no long eat. So instead of eating two cups of food a day, I now eat one cup a day and am full. Meals are supplemented throughout the day with certain raw veggies and tasty treats from Wigglyville, of course, within moderation and within my total caloric intake. I have more energy, my coat is luxurious, and have gotten good vet reports (said my eyes were those of a young pug). I do have arthritis in my elbows, a malady I share with my mum, and do take a reduced amount of medication as a result of my diet and herbal supplement I get from Wigglyville. Everyone thinks I look younger than I am! I found my own personal fountain of youth! Oh, and my poops are always firm. Over the years my mum bought my winter wardrobe at Wigglyville - and if you're a pug, you know how cold we get and how difficult it is to fit us. Wigglyville has always fit the bill. On the surface, their winter wear appears more expensive, but it's made well and lasts longer so again we get a cost savings, not having to replace sweaters and coats every season. Hollus and her husband Travis are always on the lookout for the best quality and innovation in keeping us protected from the cold Midwest winter months. They provide the most variety of any pet boutique around and stand behind the quality of the products they purchase for their store. I gotta say, when I go out for my walks, I am dressed in the warmest, protective wear available - whether it be my thinsulate puff-doggy (TM) coat, my Cumfy-Coatz (TM) heatable harness, my handmade alpaca sweater, my boots, or my Puppia (TM) harness - I can hold my head up high cause it all came from Wigglyville. I have a newfound love for Wigllyville. I've stopped in before when I was a cat owner but now that I've adopted my first pup the experience was quite different. I was lucky enough to meet Hollus when I walked in. I told her that I was adopting my first puppy and that I pretty much needed everything. That's the moment when anyone that only cared about sales would have started talking me in to all sorts of things that I didn't need just to make me spend more, but that didn't happen with Hollus. In fact, it was quite the opposite. She was very knowledgeable on just about every subject and answered every question I had patiently and thoroughly. She made great suggestions but also reined me in when I tried to buy stuff I didn't really need or things that would be inappropriate for a puppy because they would just get chewed to pieces. There were two other fellas working there as well, both great guys too; helpful, friendly, and approachable. It was great to watch other customers come in and in many cases were greeted as if they were old friends rather than a random customer. I walked into the store that morning thinking I'd probably get a few things there but then trek up to Petco and buy the rest but that never happened. I was so impressed with the store, the products, and the people that it might never happen. They also set me up with a very generous amount of free food samples for a grain free diet I'd like to try. So I walked out of Wigglyville feeling like I had some great suggestions, tons of info, and really happy with almost every purchase I made. I'm going back in a few days to have my new pup fitted for a harness. So a big thank you to Wigglyville and all the employees there. You have just earned yourself a new loyal customer! read more

This is my favorite pet store ever! They are so knowledgeable and helpful - I can't even imagine how they could be better. I got a puppy last year, and they've helped me with everything from collars, to harnesses, to food, to little doggie booties to keep the salt from hurting his feet.. Plus, I was able to call them just now with a question about the issues with jerky in the news and get great information about the confidence they have in the jerky they have on the shelves (and that I bought). It's nice to have a store that I believe stocks their shelves with food, treats, and toys that they'd be comfortable giving to *their* dogs and that has a staff that is knowledgeable about pet issues in the news. This place really impressed me. We just moved here from California, our dog was sick, and I just needed some advice about the food we were feeding her (after seeing our vet). James spent nearly an hour talking to me about food, advice about owning a pet in Chicago, and just interesting information about pet food companies, etc... If there was such a thing as a PhD in pet food/ pet health... James would have one! I got MUCH more information from him than I did from our vet about our dog's diagnosis and felt much better about proceeding with care for her. He never went against what our vet said, just gave me the additional information that I needed to make informed decisions. I walked out of there without spending a penny but with TONS of great information. When I do change my dog's food, or if there is anything else she needs, you can be sure I will get it from Wiggleyville. They get an A+ from me! read more

I found Wigglyville when I moved in to the neighborhood and needed dog food one morning before my other other boutique dog store a little further away opened. I felt so terrible being disloyal, but now I can never go back. The staff is helpful, their hours are great and I found the "Good Dog" toy that my puggle cannot destroy. After realizing that this was my "new" pet store, I was lamenting that my dog could tear through any toy, no matter what price range, in less than an hour. He wasn't fooled by rubber, just would not touch them. Then the Good Dog. They have no stuffing, are soft, and have been with us for over three months. They even ordered more for me.
