I can only echo the best reviews. I first went there after reading them and was not disappointed. I came from the Coast with a friend and frankly, I wasn't sure whether one trip would be enough to find what I want, especially with the limited time we had. Also, I was a bit nervous. But all of it disappeared with being surrounded with two nice ladies who seemed to know their way around and were comfortable making suggestions. Brian, already mentioned in the reviews is a tremendous owner. He can multi-task, has a good sense of humor, a calm disposition, and the magic touch. And the selection of wigs is fantastic, including the fact that they exist in different shades. I found the perfect wig for this 72-year-old woman, neither the curly old generation type nor too outlandish, absolutely perfect. I can't spend the money right now but in a couple of months, I want to order another one of these wigs, same model, hopefully before that model disappear. No longer a concern after an afternoon with Brian. I feel I know what to expect. He helped me practice with both wigs and head wraps. He did not try to upsell me and, like other reviewers have commented, he studied me for awhile and then selected the wig that I eventually bought. What an eye! He was candid about the pluses and minuses of each line and type of wig. His prices are the same or lower than any I have seen. He was supportive of my daughter, as well. It's no day at the beach for caregivers and he was very kind to her. Finally, there were about four other customers in the store. He helped them as well without seeming rushed or distracted. By far one of the best wig shops in Portland. Brian the owner made it enjoyable for my friend who's going thru chemo to relax and find a wig she was very happy with! He was super knowledgeable and willing to make some adjustments to make her wig look more natural too. We never felt ignored or rushed (like we did in another wig shop). And it really helped my friend feel better and more confident about her situation. When we entered the shop she was a little uneasy and nervous but Brian was so helpful and friendly and gave her so much undivided attention she was put totally at ease. Brian is the BEST! Wigland is awsome and sooo friendly to work with. I'm an Executive Assistant and my job can be pretty diverse any given day! My latest task assigned was finding Halloween Costumes complete with wigs for "Dog The Bounty Hunter" and "Beth" costumes. I am sooooo grateful for Wigland and Brian. Losing my long hair to chemo was really hard for me. Despite the shop being rather busy, I was greeted with a smile and Brian told me he'd be right with me. He was alone, but saw to it that everyone in the store was taken care of with grace and efficiency. My friend will loose her hair soon because of chemo. We went to Wigland to get a jump on it. Brian not only showed his expertise in helping us pick the most beautiful style and color of wig, but he showed compassion and humor, which were unexpected. What we worried would be a very difficult process was actually a fun and memorable one. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place! The owner is so nice and helpful and the product is amazing. I have complicated blonde hair and was nervous about finding extensions that matched. He made extensions that matched PERFECTLY to my hair color. I bought wigs from this place for years because I loved the selection, but always had really mixed experiences with the service. After my most recent encounter, I certainly won't be back. The owner is this super scary older woman who doesn't speak English too well and seems to be constantly pissed off at her customers from the moment they walk through door. Despite having spent quite a bit of money over the years, she never seems to have warmed up to treating me better. I went with a friend on a major shopping trip for a performance, and we were planning to purchase about 5 different wigs. I'm sorry to say, she made that task completely impossible and we had to leave with nothing. She was really irate that we were trying on so many wigs (even when I tried to explain to her that we needed to buy a red one, a blonde one, a black one, a white one, and a bright colored one, and we had already set aside a few at the counter that we told her we were planning to purchase). She literally would not let us look at anymore wigs. We were just so sick of what a stressful experience it had become, we left without even purchasing the ones we wanted. We only tried on a couple in each color before making our selection, as we were trying to make it a quick trip, but apparently she found that unreasonable. It unfortunate, since they have a nice selection. The shopping experience is just made to stressful for me tolerate going back. read more

I've been going to this store for about two years. They have a really nice selection of wigs, synthetic and human hair. The staff is really nice, they don't rush you through your choice. Sometimes you'll go to wig shops and they don't like taking the time to take them all out of the bags and let you look at them. Both times he was very thoughtful and careful in cutting and styling. He understood the importance of getting the right look and doing the cutting slowly and incrementally. I was very happy with the finished products as well as his professional attitude and attention to detail. He took way more care to offer advice and listen to what I wanted than the person I bought my other wig from and seems very knowledgable about wigs and hair styles in general. There are so many changes that go on with a cancer diagnosis and of course the most obvious is hair loss and lack of energy...feeling well physically and emotionally. We had taken my mom to another wigshop on the west side of town, closer to our home with no luck. Reading reviews here on Yelp, we decided to take a 2nd attempt at Wigland and that was the best decision we could have made! Brian is wonderful as others have mentioned. Unlike the other salon, he made my mom feel that she was his most important customer even though there were others shopping as well. He talked with HER, and not through me to her. He took his time in explaining the difference between wigs and how they could be adjusted. He let us know the name of the wig and the brand which the other salon wouldn't. And you know what? We had no desire to go home or look up on our phone what we could get the wig for online because Brian's service and caring made us want to do business at Wigland and I can guarantee, if we have the occasion to shop there again we will.
