This was my second time visiting Wigz and I can honestly say that it was so much better than my first. I didn't want to review Wigz after my first visit because I think there was a breakdown in communication when I ordered my sandwiches. I have had several friends tell me that they thought Wigz has the best sandwiches in Laguna Beach so I decided to try Wigz again. This time I researched the various sandwiches online by reading the reviews and pictures online. I ordered the Classic Roast Beef and added avocado to it. My partner got the hot pastrami sandwich with double the meat (2/3 lb). We both thought that these sandwiches were delicious. My partner ate the whole sandwich but due to the size he was unable to eat dinner that night! I ate half of my roast beef sandwich and ate the other half the next day for lunch. Needless to say, the sandwiches are very generous and filling. The location is right across from the beach so you can get sandwiches to go and eat them at the beach. There is also plenty of outdoor dining in the back and in the front of the shop. The front patio is a great people watching location and it is dog friendly. My only suggestion that would improve customer experience would be for the menu to include a more detailed description of what is on the sandwiches. read more

Well like many folks in Orange County, I love a good sandwich by the beach, and this place checks both of those boxes! Went here with a friend and we tried two different sandwiches and split them both. First off, the hot pastrami was off the charts good. I have had many pastrami sandwiches and this is my favorite I have ever had, the sauce they put on it was flavorful and the toasted bread it comes on tied it all up in a tasty little bow! The second sandwich was the Wigz grinder with turkey and salami, this was a nice second choice and quite refreshing. A great sandwich to grab and take to the beach. Prices were fair and the staff was friendly, also their music choice in the store was on point playing lots of good punk rock tunes! Wigz is a fun and funky breath of fresh air in Laguna! I've gone twice for their daily 4pm-close Happy Hour to have a few of their $5 draft pints. On my third try, I decided to try a sandwich. I ordered the Veggie on Squaw sandwich to go, adding pepperjack cheese and subbing the squaw for dutch crunch. When I got to my next location to eat the sandwich, I noticed the wrapping was done really well. The dutch crunch bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the ingredients tasted fresh. The sandwich felt like a good homemade sando. However, for $15, I had hopes for a larger sandwich. I also wish they offered pickle slices as a topping option as well as the spear. The back of the restaurant patio isn't to be missed. They have a TV out there playing sports, and a few tables to sit with your drink and food. They also have a bookshelf with a variety of games inside to keep you busy. The servers are friendly and hip. All in all, based on the price, Wigz won't be my everyday sandwich shop, but I will definitely be back often for their awesome happy hour deals! read more

I stopped here for a quick and early lunch one day and was glad I did. I ordered a Sir Melvin, which is a turkey avocado sandwich with shredded lettuce, tomato, red onion, pepperoncinis, Italian dressing, mayo, and dijon mustard on brown bread with a sliced pickle on the side. It was really tasty! The ingredients were fresh and well prepared. The restaurant has a very nice and casual back courtyard to sit at to enjoy your meal. Such fun little spot. Its a little difficult to find the sign but its the place in the corner. There is sitting up front by the road, inside (very minimal) and in the back patio. We tried different sandwiches. I had the tuna melt which was pretty delicious. My niece had the turkey with Avocado and she didn't think it was the best but she liked it. My nephew had the PB&J and he enjoyed it. The best part is we got to play some board games while we waited for our food. And overall had an enjoyable time. Totally recommend this spot. read more

Came here today, had quite terrible service. Came with my boyfriend who was standing right next to me while I was ordering. I got the turkey bacon avocado, had two chips on the counter and the woman taking my order didn't ask for my boyfriend's order. Adding another 5 star review to this great place, as I have a husband who spent years in hospitality, and used to receive threats of 1 star reviews from other customers who would use it as a power play. I saw a recent 1 star review due to lack of gluten free bread. The owner has a very thoughtful reason about this + they offer salads for folks like my husband who are gluten free (minor allergy and can handle cross contamination). We are going to Wigz this weekend because the place is simply too good for anyone, GF or not, to give a miss. Your tuna and pastrami options are to die for. Best sandwiches I've had in years. Wow- may have just had one of the best sandwiches in my life. Visiting Laguna for the day and we heard good things about this place, so we got some subs for the beach. There wasn't a line when we placed our order and our food came out in under 10 minutes. I got the turkey bacon avocado on their Dutch crunch bread which was AMAZING. The bread tasted super fresh and the sub was very filling like an ~8 inch sub I believe. Docking a star because there was barely any bacon on the turkey bacon avocado sammy, I thought they forgot it but there was only 1 piece of bacon, and because my friend asked for no veggies on her sandwich just meat, cheese, mayo and they still added all the veggies. We should've double checked it before leaving, but in the future I would double check your sub before leaving if you have any modifications. Okay, for the logistics. It's located near Rumari and Spigot Liquor, both quality establishments. I mention this because the signage is pretty minimal for now. There is seating in the front as well as the back. The front has an ocean view; the back is lovely and quiet. You do you. It's fast casual, meaning you order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. The staff is very friendly. There is a nice selection of sandwiches. I keep meaning to try all of them, but due to repeatedly ordering my favorite ones, I have not made it through the menu. Their bread comes from a local artisan bakery. If I had a quibble, it would be the minimal selection of sides. However, if you like gourmet chips, coleslaw or pasta salad, then you won't have a problem.
