There's a good selection of European style beers on tap and they have a cocktail menu as well. Service is friendly and quick. We had wings and fish and chips. The fish and chips was a massive portion of beer battered fish and a huge mound of fries with a side of slaw. While the fish was flaky and fresh the fries were not very crispy which was a disappointment. The garlic parmesan wings were delicious and came with nuggets of fried garlic. They have live music in tent outside during the warmer months as well as outdoor seating for those blissful summer days.

New menu item alert!…read more New season, new menu. The Rathskeller put a shio pork ramen on the menu. Now, it's sort of confusing, in that by the name, I was thinking it's a shio broth. The item description says it has a miso broth. When it came out, I tasted no miso, and it wasn't cloudy in the least, as I'd expect with a miso broth. It tastes like a shio broth, so the name does not lie. Anyway, it is very very good. It comes with 2 slices of chashu pork that just melt in your mouth. This is a lovely dish and perfect for cold nights. Also, the night I went, the creme brulee of the day was butterscotch. And I'm a sugar fiend, so I absolutely loved it. Cut it with a bit of coffee, if you're not as much into sweets. The sugar crust was just a bit thicker than you'd normally get (but, I actually like that...I actually find the "proper" creme brulee crust is too thin), and it was perfectly creamy and smooth underneath. It was a great dessert to close the meal.

I got the succotash soup, and the fish and chips. The succotash soup was in a light broth with lots of kale. This really let the sweetness of the squash shine. It's not a hearty soup by any means, but it is super satisfying. I ordered a cup, and at the end of the cup, I wished I had ordered a bowl. The fish and chips... price vs portion size, it's fair.........which means I personally wish I ordered two plates of it. I'll be honest, I have no idea how they pulled this off, but the breading on the fish didn't fall apart, it wasn't greasy, and it was crispy, flavorful, yet, it didn't mask the delicate flavor of a white fish. It's the type of fish and chips that you find yourself eating without slathering tartar sauce all over it. The small portion of cole slaw also left me wanting more of it. There's a slight sweet and tang to it, and the veggies in it are crisp and fresh. Overall, I feel like this is a diner+. Like, this is what a diner becomes when it grows up. Fair prices, friendly staff, unpretentious, clean, welcoming, and most importantly (to me, at least), great food.

What can I say? 2023 James Beard Award - first indigenous chef, only the third in RI history, and…read morea woman. Kudos!! We dined on Friday two days after the award was announced. We got there before 5 PM when they opened (no reservations) and the line was 25+ strong. We made the first seating with some folks dining on the overflow picnic tables outside (they seat about 36 inside). Forgot to thoroughly read the website and we were the only ones not with a bottle (BYOB at $5/bottle). So, one of us ran off to Charlestown Wine & Spirits for wine. The downside is that it took 2 hours to get our appetizers and 3 hours to finish our meal (we did not order any desserts). Most people took it in stride but a few diners were verbally "pissed". Why I think this happened. The have a server and a "bus boy" (the latter his first day) - probably enough staff for that. But the cooking was overwhelmed - unfortunately, the award winner Chef Sherry Pocknett is battling breast cancer and the cooking is being handled by her two daughters. So, I assume understaffed. Also, everyone arrived at the same time. The good news. The food is great! The chicken wings, pulled pork on fry bread, "3 Sisters rice", mac and cheese, ribeye, and venison were outstanding. And large portions. One flaw was mashed potatoes came out warm at best. We'll be back - despite a 1-hour drive each way - to try out their breakfast or lunch offerings. Finally, they are trying to do too much. A large menu followed by daily specials plus additions on the chalkboard. And some days doing 3 meals. Trim back significantly and hopefully the dining times will become manageable. Damages with tip for 3 was $140.

We dined and had drinks at the restaurant twice; highlights were the jalapeño margarita and the clam chowder. Even if you aren't staying on site, the restaurant is worth visiting. My fiance and I loved our stay here, and even managed to take beautiful photos on their beautiful property. The service was quite good and we did not feel hurried at all, yet things did move along at a decent pace. The food was not 5 stars for each of our party. I had the Portuguese Cod which was terrific! The swordfish was also thought to be excellent. The sirloin was deemed to be just OK. The other two of our party had Caesar salads and they thought they were fine but let's face it, a Caesar salad is pretty much the same from one good restaurant to another. Sorry to say we had no room for dessert or even coffee.

I really enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp, the grilled steak and the scallops. Many in my group loved the endless lobster. The dessert bar was another good stop. My suggestion is that you get there early, when they open Friday evening. We didn't need a reservation and thank goodness, because the line grew shortly after we got in. Again, can't say it enough, go early, you'll be glad you did. This way you can enjoy getting what you like with less foot traffic inside.

It's been on my bucket list, and it delivered everything and more. Yes, it's a little pricey, but the experience? Beyond worth it. This place is a hidden gem that deserves way more hype. Let's talk food: unlimited lobster, and not just skimpy tails--full one-pounders+, buttery and perfect. Crab legs, oysters on the half shell, clams--you name it. They were literally shucking oysters as we walked through the line. Fresh, abundant, and absolutely indulgent. Prime rib, filet mignon, a dessert bar that could rival a wedding spread--it was nonstop deliciousness. The vibe? Rustic, outdoorsy, and charmingly old-school, yet massive and tucked away like a secret culinary retreat. The server was flawless, the ambiance was adorable, and the whole experience felt like a celebration. I'm already planning a weekend trip just to go back. If you love seafood, steak, and unforgettable dining--this is your spot.
