That's what the people that own animal house are like. When you first walk in, you're greeted by an overwhelming animal stench, and a friendly enough face. I will be honest. I groomed at animal house for about two months. The first day that I was there, the lady owner literally screamed at the dog. I've worked at other pet stores, and this one was one of the worst for knowledge about animals. Several times I found myself educating the owners of this establishment about the animals they "care for". The only reason I would personally purchase anything from animal house is for feeder mice and rats because of PetSmarts policy about not selling live feeders. I don't recommend this place.

They have been a life saver after muddy hikes. The wash stations are fully stocked with shampoos, conditioners, ear cleaners, cleaned brushes, aprons, dryers, and towels which makes bath times easy. The Preston Hwy location has the best set up for the baths in my option. Lastly, their home delivery service is THE BEST. I literally placed an order in the morning and it was delivered to my doorstep the very same afternoon. Delivery was free and I didn't have to carry two 50lbs of dog food in and out of my trunk. Typically delivery is next day in my past experiences, but still very fast. I would definitely recommend shopping at Feeders over big name pet stores and online options. And if you sign up for their newsletters you get special deals too.

We found PR online and called to explain the situation. The person on the phone acted like our chameleon was basically near death and we needed to rush in for an appt. But, before we could schedule they required an over the phone payment of $65. I've never had this with any other vet, or other business for that matter. We were told this would be refunded if cancelled 24 hrs out. We paid the fee, scheduled an appt, then called other exotic pet vets. Found 2 more nearby with good reviews who were both less dramatic about the situation and more than happy to set appointments without charging prior to meeting. My wife called back the following day (prior to the 24 hr window) to cancel our appointment. When she asked for the refund she was told they will not refund her card but instead mail a check. A week passed and no check. My wife called to inquire and was told the check was sitting on the desk and would go out that day. Another week passed, still no refund. She called again and this time told "we send groups of refund checks every few weeks. Yours will go out soon." Another week, no check. This time I drove to the office and was met by a woman (Donna Ross, office manager) who turned very defensive when I mentioned I was there to inquire about our refund. She curtly stated it was sent out two days prior so go home and it should be in our mailbox in the next day or two. Another week passed and still no refund. I returned to the office again and was met by a sweet girl in the front. I explained why I was there and she went to get Donna Ross. I could hear their conversation in her office including her complaining about the fact that I was back. When she approached, there was no pleasantries, no "I'm sorry this has taken so long". Instead she just snapped, "I told you I mailed the check and since I can't control the mail you're just gonna have to wait it out. If we get it back I'll call you". Very rude, very unprofessional. At this point we were at 30 days from our original call and charge. I asked them to write me a check and cancel the other. She told me she couldn't and I would have to talk to the doctor if I wanted to wait. Which I did. Eventually Tim Gravatte approached to discuss. I'll spare the lengthy details, but have an audio file if anyone would like to listen. Long story short, this guy was just as unprofessional as the first. Our only crime in this situation was setting an appt with this place, paying the charge they insisted upon, then requesting a refund as they said they would do when no services were rendered. We were basically treated as a hostile witness throughout this whole experience, as if we had wronged them in some way. It was quite strange actually. There was never an apology or really even human decency with any of the interactions. Mr. Gravatte refused to write a check and just kept repeating if the refund doesn't arrive in another 2 weeks I would need to drive back over to the office and then he would write me a check. So at this point, I feel like we should charge them for our time we have wasted on this ridiculous scenario. Terrible experience and still no refund. On the bright side, our chameleon is healed and doing well thanks to another vet who was professional, pleasant, and definitely someone I would return to. Penny Royal Vet on the other hand is a place I would definitely recommend to stay far away from. I have since talked with others who have had similar experiences as mine. Proceed with caution.

I picked up a few alternates and went to the check out where there was a very nice staff member. I asked her if the was any of the product I was looking for was anywhere else in the store. She said no we don't stock those anymore. When I told her that the items were on the web site she apologized and wrote a note to the boss to let her know. I hope they get it together because they do have a wide variety of products for wild birds. If they get the products and prices right I'll return.

One in particular, Ava, I have always gone out of my way to be kind because retail can be a harsh work place. I've worked it, but I treated people kindly no matter what. That's customer service. She has been so unkind and rude a few different times. I have spent a lot of money there and even that shouldn't matter. She makes the snarkiest comments and is never professional with such a know it all attitude. I truly feel like they could use a lesson in customer service. There is another girl who works there also who is pretty much the same way. I just avoid her all together. It really sucks that this location is so close but I will not be back. The one on New Circle has such a better crew and I will definitely make the drive. Get it together!!
