Went here for a brunch on a whim one Saturday morning and it turned out to be a future go to spot for brunch. I ordered the eggs Benedict Florentine(veggie version of classic Benny's) and this turned out to be great choice. I was however definitely very undecided when I looked at menu because so many items looked so great. I also ordered the house coffee which Was fairly good as opposed to house coffee's reputation generally at breakfast places. The staff was very friendly and they checked upon me a couple of time that showed they cared. There are 2 reasons why I took away 1 star though. First the restaurant doesn't reflect the waiting time/waitlist accurately on the yelp app. Me and around 4 more parties were told wait time 15-20 minutes and parties after me for 30 minutes. But the app kept saying 0 waiting time. Second, the staff taking names on sign on sheet looked slightly overwhelmed and also kept disappearing sometimes, it would be great if they kept track of who's showing up when and get them signed in promptly. Our server was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. We arrived a few minutes after they opened and were shown to a table immediately. Having been to the Oakley location, we were somewhat familiar with the menu. Our order was taken and our drinks were brought. We both ordered the Buffalo Chicken Omelette with potatoes and Sourdough toast. A short time later our food arrived. Very disappointing! Not one thing on the plate was hot! The chicken was brown and tasted old. The potatoes seemed to have been batch cooked and the toast was barely warm. No where near a comparison to the Oakley location I took one bite of my food and left the rest. I will say the Sprite was cold. I would be hard pressed to recommend this location. Wild Eggs is a breakfast/brunch staple for my friend group. It's always a good time with a pitcher of mimosas and delicious and unique breakfast foods here. I've been to this location twice now. Our first experience wasn't the best but we did have a group so large that we took up two tables so it was a lot to handle. The second trip a few days ago was much better and we still had a group of about 14. Our waitress was super friendly and thankfully not overwhelmed by so many people. She did a great job of keeping our checks separate and she even recalled our orders so everything came out correctly. Because we were so big she checked back in on us and kept us updated that our orders were coming. I ordered my usual breakfast burrito but the Mr. Potato Head casserole is a solid choice. I sat between two friends who ordered the buffalo chicken omelette and was told it was also tasty. The chicken & waffles dish is also a fave. The cinnamon roll is to die for! It's big though so I definitely recommend sharing. Oh and the mimosas...do yourself a favor and order one...or a pitcher! I actually prefer this location, especially on weekends as the wait is never long (and I think they take reservations) and parking is easy! read more

Update. (Previous was 2 stars) Wild eggs gave me a replacement meal To make up for my bad experience. This mornings excursion was far superior. (3 weeks ago, started the update but it didn't post) The country fried steak was tender and great Switched from everything to the blueberry muffin. I don't know why you don't put choice of muffin next to meals instead of everything. The blueberry was delightful! My breakfast companion had the yellow submarine. Now that was one large sandwich! I can't wait to go back just to get that for myself. I'll likely ask for fried eggs instead of the scramble patty that was on it though. Your potatoes are still not "skillet potatoes" they are baked or deep fried or something. I left them on my plate. I'd love some actual skillet or griddle fried potatoes here. I'm happy that I made a second visit as it was so much better. My order: Country fried steak breakfast eggs poached. Comes with "skillet potatoes" and an everything muffin. And also got a cinnamon roll. Food tool an exceptionally long time but that really didn't bother me too much. Then the food comes out. The cinimon roll is in its own little skillet and gigantic. Mmm Breakfast desert. Could have been for a table of 4. I ordered it, and presumed that some would go to waste but needed to try it. Main course: When people make jokes about white people not seasoning their food, they must have been eating at wild eggs. For a battered and fried piece of meat that's then covered in gravy I was shocked at how bland it was. I mean comically underseasoned. It was a small steak that curled up under itself in like a torpedo shape. It was cooked well but needed all the salt and pepper I could muster. The poached eggs were in a bowl and so was all of the cooking water. Is it that difficult to drain poached eggs? I just poured it onto the extra plate that came with my cinnamon roll. Otherwise they were cooked to the correct temp. If an item is called "skillet potatoes" wouldn't it lead you to believe they are fried on a pan or at least a griddle? These were not. Tasted like the precut potato cubes you find at the grocery then baked to make them extra chewy and dry. And then served like warm at best. I've got way too much food to worry about the potatoes but come one at least call them what they are. Everything muffin: everything except moisture. It took me almost five minutes to flag down a worker to bring me some butter for this saliva sucking gut bomb. A while later a woman asked to sub for a blueberry muffin. Had I known that was an option I would have too. Super dense and added nothing to my meal. Cinnamon roll: so much delicious icing. And dough. That's all I really tasted. Dough and icing and a slight hint of cinnamon. After deeper exploration I found out why. The roll was wrapped so loosely all the cinnamonny goodness just leaked to the bottom of the pan and burned there. I want this place to be better and it has the potential to but so disappointing. Very solid eatery. I went during the week and early in the morning, so there was no wait. The staff was kind and helpful as well. It didn't take long to figure out what I wanted, the Kalamity Katie's Border Benedict sounded amazeblaze. And sure enough, when it was placed before me it smelled and tasted the part. The corn cakes the eggs were on were so moist and delicious. The side potatoes were okay, nothing to write Yelp about. But I'd say the biggest surprise came from the Everything Muffin. Absolutely the best breakfast ever! We love to go out for breakfast but my husband doesn't like to go downtown. He agreed this morning and so I started checking the yelp reviews- Wild Eggs here we come! Since it was a Saturday we were able to park across the street and we were seated within a few minutes. Our server introduced herself and I wish I could remember her name because she was great! She recommended kalamity kates Benedict and the mushroom scramble so we went with that- and of course the fresh squeezed orange juice! Both were amazing! The corn cakes with the chorizo and eggs were garnished with a delicious fresh salsa, I didn't even get to the potatoes and muffin! I had lunch here today. The service was good. I thought the decor was a little cold and sterile. I had the Buffalo Chicken omelette. It was quite tasty, not really spicy at all. We loved our experience here, our waitress was out of this world with kindness and the manager made sure to stop by and make sure everything was good! I asked her if she had the chicken and waffles and she was quick to tell me it was good, but they put pulled chicken IN the waffles, and she doesn't like their pulled chicken so she gets it without and that the hot sauce they use for the chicken is a little spicy so she gets it on the side. I got it exactly how she recommended and loved it. The spicy sauce really adds to it. My friend got the farmer hash and liked it, but said the potatoes were lukewarm and not very crispy. This is a favorite place of my daughter and son-in-law, so we had to visit while we were there for the weekend. Breakfast is my favorite meal, I love a good breakfast. Also it is my favorite meal to cook so I am a little particular when it comes to breakfast. I chose the platter, I can't remember the exact name but it came with eggs meat a biscuit grits and a pancake. This was a lot of food. I brought it out I did have an issue with my eggs I rather not say what it was but I did have to send them back. The waitress was super nice about it she replated my food got me some fresh eggs and everything was fine. The food was great coffee was a great we got a cinnamon roll everyone's food turned out exactly the way they had asked for. The only issue I had was the eggs, even though they did make it right, I thought it would've been the right thing to do to at least take that portion off of our bill. I mean our bill was well over $100 for four people for breakfast. But they didn't and I did not wanna make a scene so I just let it go. Wow, super impressed with this place! Atmosphere is bright, open and plenty of seating. Staff is super friendly and fun. The menu is vast with lots of fun options. Got seated at 12:13 and we're told at 1:15 they messed up putting the order in the kitchen so placed the order again. I can deal with mistakes but the server ignored us the entire time. Didn't check on refills or tried to be accommodating/update us on what's happening until the food finally got there at 1:45. You're in the hospitality business so if something goes wrong try to anything to accommodate the customer. Especially one with a toddler at the table. To top things off, the bill waa wrong (twice as much) when we might of expected something to be taken off if anything. We won't be back. read more

We went here this morning for a delicious Sunday breakfast on the last day of our weekend visit to the city. Service was great. Very attentive to our family of 5 (three kids 7 and under). Food was on the pricier end for breakfast but the portions were very large and justified the cost. My chilaquiles were AMAZING. I'd definitely come back just for them. Host seemed to just be throwing around wait times, but thankfully we got in more quickly than most...First watch is a much better choice, but I wanted to try something different. I wanted Pancakes with home fries, eggs and bacon. I end up having to pay close to $30 just for my meal because everything is separate and they have almost no basic meals ready to order. $12 for pancakes, $2 for eggs, $4 for home fries, $5 for bacon then $3 for a drink. This is a cute little breakfast/brunch restaurant with an open bright feel inside. There are no booths, just tables. We ordered multiple items because the menu had lots of choices and we couldn't decide what we wanted. The cinnamon roll tasted soooo good and it is HUGE! We got it as an appetizer but only could eat a small amount of it. I got the breakfast burrito which is also huge, but it was delicious with the pico and black beans on the side. The potatoes weren't cooked all the way, but that's my fault not asking to have them cooked well done. We also tried a waffle and pancake and decided the pancake was much better and it also was huge!! Despite having a down right awful experience at the host stand of another location, I wanted to try the downtown location especially because I live pretty close to it. I get off work at 1 and rush there to make it before close. I get there at 2:15, and ask if they were still seating, I get greeted with the biggest smiles by two guys and they say absolutely come on in, very nice and welcoming. My server Mike was a very nice and accommodating guy. I never had to ask for anything! The food was delicious, I had the bourbon apple crepe and a bellini. It definitely made up for the past experience and I will absolutely be going back!!! UPDATE 9/2018: Just to clarify, that was the location in the Hyde Park Oakley area.
