i'm so sad to write this because i was so excited to try all this out but..... we were served like cold food. not room temp, cold. if it wasn't cold it would have been a four if not five star review. i got the southwest benedict (i forget the name) and even with the meat i took off the flavor profile was awesome! but even my poached eggs were Cold?? my friend got the california grains bowl and it was so small and sad and cold for the price. the service was awesome, i debated giving a higher review just for that but i thought it would be misleading. i've been to the indy one multiple times and never experienced this, even with takeout i've had warmer food. not sure how it happened but at least my latte looked pretty read more

I came here for a late breakfast. I am gluten-free, so finding a place in downtown Louisville to accommodate my dietary needs with something more than eggs can be a challenge. I ordered the gf stuffed French Toast and it was tasty. Know that it isn't as fluffy as the gluten counterpart but still good. I accompanied it with turkey sausage patties and the "chocolate kiss" to drink. It was all good. I plan on returning to try some of the other gluten-free offerings. They're very conscious of COVID-19 safety precautions so that was reassuring especially when dining inside. I went with the following dish which was pretty good/unique and I recommend ordering it: Border Benedict - Green chili cheddar corn cakes,topped with chorizo, two poached eggs and queso fundido, pico de gallo, sour cream, green onions and avocado. Gran Mimosa with fresh OJ was a lil stronger than I'm used to but yummy. I ordered The Chicken or the Egg? which came with Half homemade grilled chicken salad and a half award winning pops popping egg salad and a bit of mixed greens with tomatoes red onion and chopped parsley and smoked paprika. It came in 5 minutes! I ordered no onions but there is onions on it but they're kind of on the bottom so I'm not gonna worry about it. The salad part could use some dressing. I just used lemon juice. Ate here 2 times during our extended weekend in Louisville. Had carry out the first time & dined in on Sunday morning. Food & service, were great both times. Mike was on top of whatever we needed, during sit down meal & the young man who took phone order early Friday morning, was awesome. Sorry I don't recall your name... Ordered an egg "up" for my Kelsey KY Brown, Original egg from picture (over cooked, no yolk) on left. Replacement egg, cooked properly but someone was pissed in kitchen & dumped smoked paprika on it...Should have been dusted or sprinkled with smoked paprika. Was able to scrap off, & eat on the dish. But was certainly upsetting at the moment & our table couldn't believe it either. Note to kitchen or server from other table who took my request for replacement egg. Don't be upset & play frickin games. How bout cooking it correctly the 1st time. Your antic caused a 4 star score instead of 5. Want to give lower rating, but the food/quality from both visits (9 dishes total) was so good & that wouldn't be fair to the establishment. Biscuits & Gravy were excellent both visits. Aces BLT sandwich was winner too. Chicken & waffles was tasty as well. Kelsey KY Brown was just as good, minus the egg issue, but flavor was definitely there & enjoyed the dish.. when bill came, Mike informed me they removed the charges for Kelsey KY Brown. Didn't have to do that, as I ate & enjoyed the dish after the BS...but thank you Was nice gesture!! Cute little restaurant with a small bar area when you walk in, I do recommend adding yourself to the waitlist online bc they're very busy! The atmosphere was great and so was our service. The mimosa was soooo good, we got a pitcher of orange-pineapple, it gave 4 cups and I wanted 8! We ordered the The Carolina and a Buffalo Chicken Omelet... Buffalo omelet was what I got there was not any chicken in sight of my omelet I ended up just pushing it to the side just imagine Buffalo wing sauce on a bowl of eggs but the grits were cooked perfect I added cheese and that made it even better, the Carolina was so good and flavorful added more salt and pepper but didn't need it if you like your food semi- seasoned! I wasn't excited about my food and taste but I'll give this place another try and eat something else before giving up, this location is street parking or $3 parking in the lot next door for 3 hours which is worth it considering the location! read more

I've been to wild eggs so many times. It's by far my favorite breakfast/brunch restaurant. On the weekends, there will always be a wait, but it's worth it. You have to try the orange juice. It's not like the orange juice you get at most restaurants. It's so fresh and straight from the orange. You can even see the machine squeezing the oranges sometimes. The cinnamon roll is delicious. It is so sweet and rich so you might want something savory to even it out. My go to order is the stuffed French toast. I've never been a fan of French toast, but this is not like your normal French toast. In between the two pieces of French toast is a cream cheese filing with fruit. I've probably gotten this close to ten times. I always order something sweet, but on my last visit, I wanted to try something different. I got the mr potato head casserole. I'm definitely gonna be ordering this a lot more. It was amazing. It's got so many different ingredients and they all work together perfectly. Their pancakes are so fluffy. Although it was a long wait almost an hour ( Father's Day and social distancing) it was worth it. The cinnamon roll was to die for. So good. UNREAL! The food at this place was meh. All our food came out slow and was not hot. Just moderately warm. My toast had mold on it. One of our group didn't get his meal until about 20 minutes after everyone else. When it showed up it was cold. Not remotely warm whatsoever. Everything was great! This place seems to be a go to stop downtown so be prepared to wait to be seated. I went on a Tuesday morning and the place was a lil busy. The average wait was 15-20 mins. Makayla was our server and she was very knowledgeable of the menu and provided great recommendations. Wow! What an amazingly well ran place! It was the morning of the 1/2 Ironman and also a Sunday...the line was long and yet the entire place seemed calm. Although we had to wait for over an hour- when we were seated our party of 11 felt welcomed and not rushed. Coffee was hot, order was quickly taken and food came pretty fast. Everyone was working hard and no one seemed tired or frazzled. Again - even tho the place was packed and there were even kids eating it was not loud. This place is so busy and popular! We came here at 8:30 AM and there was already a 15-20 minute wait. Our waiter and server were very kind and took great care of us. The menu is HUGE. Honestly too many items to pick from. We decided to order the Kelsey KY Brown, Potato Head Casserole, and the Shrimp and Grits. By far our favorite was the Kelsey KY Brown. Wonderful breakfast and service. Jonathan was super nice and helpful with menu items. I ordered the KY Brown and it was perfect and I'm totally understanding the Louisville Brown situation. It works!!! My boyfriend loved his potatohead casserole and the kitchen really got it right when he said he wanted his eggs well done. You'd be surprised how many times he has returned eggs too undercooked despite him asking for them to be burnt. My friend ordered the grits and they were oddly sweet and also had sausage in them which she cannot eat. They were quickly replaced with lovely potatoes. We enjoy wild eggs for the most part but the last few times they have had no servers working. We never got silverware I had to go track some down myself after asking several times as well as the people next to us. When we asked they would say we will get some and never saw them again. The same thing with ketchup. I tracked that down as well. My Benedict was just thrown together and the eggs were both completely overcooked. He grabbed menus and sat us in a section where we waited for 15 minutes before we got a server. This must be everyone's favorite place as it is always crowded here with lines out of the door. We were not able to make it Saturday morning as the line was too long and we were in a hurry to make it to the Makers Mark Distillery in Loretto. We were leaving Sunday and knew we were gonna say f it and bare the line. Walked in and put our name on the list and they told us about 30 minutes wait which is my limit. Got myself a bourbon mimosa while we waited in the main waiting area. You can also have coffee, tea and juice while you wait. There is a bar area in the main waiting area as well so if you're lucky enough to snag a seat, do it! Our buzzer buzzed and we were walked to the dining room area where it was packed and full of life. I got another mimosa and this time it was a pomegranate mimosa...pretty good. Lots of great items on themes but I settled on the gluten free mushroom scramble with spinach. That scramble was good as hell! Very delicious and it came with wheat toast and potatoes. Our server was a very nice girl...think her name was Taylor. I see why this place is so popular! Good food, great service and colorful atmosphere. Great staff, great food, amazing atmosphere. Reserved our table as we drove over from the Kentucky Expo Center and we were on a set time frame. The host was amazing and took as to our table in a timely manner. The severer was busy and she took a little time to get to us but once she took our orders the food came out promptly. We were a party of four and everyone enjoyed their breakfast. We thankfully had a truly great experience here and I will for sure plan on making this a place we must visit on our next trip to Louisville. We've eaten here before and the food was awesome. Today though was epic fail. Well maybe not epic. However, we ordered our food with eggs over medium and got hard eggs. This after my wife ordered iced coffee and it came hot... we also walked in at 1:30, were seated promptly with dining area about 1/2 full. It took almost a hour to get our order.
