Mango Tango Roll

Didn't have my side kicks (husband and daughter) with me on this visit or there would have been many more rolls eaten. Service was fantastic and food came out quick! As previous reviews, they bring you soup and a small imitation crab appetizer. I ordered the Mango tango roll. 10 pieces This was delicious with no spicy!

Came here for lunch and they have great lunch specials! You can get sushi rolls or hibachi and I opted for the steak hibachi, which was yummy and plentiful. My boyfriend got sushi rolls and loved them. They each came with salad and miso soup. They also brought out this free roll too. Great service, food, and prices!

I attended an event nearby and stopped in with friends for dinner. We were seated right away. Our server quickly brought everyone water, a complimentary small bowl of clear soup and a holiday roll (fried sushi). First of all I was highly impressed to receive anything complimentary in this day and age. And both items were tasty and helps kill my hunger pains. My friends ordered several appetizers. My two favorites were the taki ebi, grilled shrimp with teriyaki glaze, and the krab rangoon. The sauces were bursting with flavor too. For dinner, I had the tonkotsu ramen made with pork and chicken broth, and included pork chashu, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots (which I ommitted), green onion, fish cake, boiled egg and sesame seed. The ramen was hot and delicious. It hit a spot on a cold night. And bonus, I can only eat half so I had leftovers the next day. I'm looking forward to stopping by again and trying some other menu items. And service was fast and friendly.

I stopped in to Wild Ginger recently with a few Yelp friends and really enjoyed it! The inside is small but pretty sleek and quite clean. Our server, Deanna, was friendly and funny! She stopped by quickly with complimentary clear soups AND a holiday roll. Both were great; the clear soup stuck out for having a flavorful broth. We grabbed a few appetizers: the agedashi tofu, yaki ebi, krab rangoon, and edamame. The edamame was standard (in a good way!), and the krab Rangoon was in the triangular shape and on the sweeter side -- I personally like that but know opinions can vary. The yaki ebi shrimp were cooked well, and the sauce they use is delicious. But it was the agedashi tofu that was the biggest highlight of the meal for me; the batter was delicious and crisp. For entrees, I went with a shrimp udon. It was tasty and simple with lots of bok choi, but I think I'd try something else next time just because of the breadth of interesting things on the menu. (One of my dining partners got a bowl of ramen that looked absolutely amazing.) Deanna also brought out complimentary fried Oreos for dessert, topped white whipped cream and sprinkles. It was cute and an unexpected pleasant surprise. I've spent enough time in the Midwest to have encountered fried Oreos before, and they do a solid job of them here. I'll be back!

First we will talk about our incredible server Morgan. She came to the table with a holiday roll, on the house with clear soup. She had so much energy, loves the food here and was very helpful with questions. The menu here is extensive but you can get almost any Asian food you desire. We started with a fire tuna roll. The slab or tuna was an inch thick. We like spicy and this hit the spot no Wasabi needed. I am mostly going to skip the salad except to say it was like any other Asian salad with ginger dressing. I had the yellow curry with beef. The best curry I have ever had. It was not soup consistency but meat and veggies served with sauce more like gravy than soup stock. The beef is not overcooked and the veggies were fresh. I sure wish I lived closer to this place. It was so good.

This place had a grand opening sign on front. We came in and were seated right away. Our waitress - Morgan - was so friendly! She brought us a holiday Roll and soup as soon as we were seated. She stayed on top of drinks and checked in with us regularly. She was fast to check in and made sure anything I ordered was free of bell peppers. The holiday roll was great! A sweet treat of crab, cream cheese, and sauces. We got the Fire Tuna Roll to share. Man it was great!! The Tuna and avocado was so big and the sauce flavorful! I ordered the Hawaiian roll. Again it was great on its own, I did add Wasabi and the sweet and spice was fantastic!! We also got fried oreo's for dessert. They were great!! Highly recommend!!

Clear soup

Joined some friends for dinner on a very cold Monday night. As soon as we were seated, we got complimentary clear soup and tempura crab stick appetizer to welcome us! Perfect to warm us up! Yummmm. We started with some appetizers - krab rangoon (little bit of sweetness), yaki ebi (very flavorful), agedasi tofu, and edamame. Everything was delicious. As for the entree, I went with the steak and shrimp hibachi (of course, I always do). It was very flavorful! The meat and shrimp was almost overcooked (I just prefer medium steak rather than well done), but still good. It was a hearty serving. And the fried rice was delicious, I took the rest home. Yay! Haha. My friends enjoyed their dishes as well. I don't remember exactly what they got, but I think it was - shrimp udon, tonkatsu ramen (no bamboo), and a poke bowl. Everything was presented beautifully! I don't think I got a picture of everything, we were too hungry. But it was pretty! Oh and to top it all off, they also brought out fried oreos for each of us AND fortune cookies! Whaaaaat! Great service - fast, friendly, and helpful with suggestions. Thank yooooooou! I'm glad we made the stop in! Thanks for the research and suggestion, MD! Hehe Good call! Until the next time ... SYOY!

Traveling for work and stopped at this great place not far from the hotel. I'm so glad I walked in the door. The sashimi was as delicious as a work of art.

Easy in-n-out lunch. Great service at the sushi bar and amazing rolls. Loved the smoked salmon roll and sweet potatoe. They also threw in a complimentary shrimp tempura roll so I had a great meal at a great deal. Highly recommend for date nights and a quick bite at the beach.

Good quality sushi, decent price, good staff. Nice presentation. Only thing is the wasabi was super fake. Like play dough in texture.

The staff was incredibly attentive and made us feel well cared for. Once they learned it was our anniversary, everyone greeted us warmly! Best sushi in Jacksonville, hands down! We started with the edamame, with the sea salt and truffle oil, which is always delicious. The service over the evening was very slow, and we spent a lot of time waiting on food. We sat in our favorite spot at the bar window so our server also appeared the be working behind the bar and was busy making drinks. We love sake and usually get a bottle of the Noble Arrow. We asked for a recommendation and the server recommended the Soul of the Sensei, which is $107 for the bottle. We were celebrating our 24th anniversary so we went for it. He said it was on the dry side, but we found it very unexpectedly sweet, almost like a moskato wine. It wasn't surprising when we read the back of the label and saw the flavor profile was all the way on the fruity side, with notes of Muscat grape. We definitely made a mistake by not tasting it first, so we ended up asking for a bag to take it home and ordered 2 glasses of the Noble Arrow. It was a disappointing start. Next we ordered the yellowtail carpaccio, which was very good, although the size of the fish pieces overall seemed smaller than usual. Everything we ordered over the evening was undeniably tasty, but small. We got the Usuzukuri salmon and when they brought it, they had the tuna carpaccio as well. The person who brought it said it was a gift. Later, we were charged $2 on the bill for the "gift." It's not much, but it's just that giving us a gift and then putting a charge on the bill for it was very strange. Overall, I still love the food at O-Ku, but this was not the best experience. We had gone there previously for our anniversary and they made it feel special. This time there wasn't any kind of recognition besides possibly the "gift" we had to pay extra for. And the service was so slow that we ended up drinking the bottle of sake we didn't like rather than waiting for another drink order. Every place will have its off nights, and this unfortunately seemed to be one of them. I would still recommend going there, because even though the portions are tiny and expensive, the taste is delicious.

It took our server a few minutes to get everyone waters. There were only 2 people serving the entire restaurant; if they had even one more server on, service would have been a lot better. I got my martini quickly but my friend waited an additional 15 min for a canned seltzer. Just kind of odd. I will say all of the food was incredible; everyone loved every dish. I wish service had been a little better. Towards the end of the night she slowed down enough to be able to provide refills and get checks. I tried to pay in cash and she said they don't normally do that. I found that odd. She also couldn't split an item between two checks, that was also weird. It was an experience for sure!

The server was nice, got our drink orders, and then came back for our entree orders. I love their soup here, super simple, but super delicious. When we ordered our entrees we noticed on the kid's menu they don't offer combos like they do on the adult menu. My kiddo had a hankering for both chicken and steak, so we ordered him the steak, I got the steak and chicken and gave him my chicken, and my husband got the steak and chicken. So typically when we've come here we love the food and the entertainment of having a hibachi chef. They normally make it really interactive and fun, this time around was a different story. Our hibachi chef was pretty lackluster, no throwing the egg, no funny quips about the rice or veggies. It wasn't really dinner and a show. One of my favorite items is the Japanese fried rice, because I like the crispy bits you get when it's cooked on the hibachi....no crispy bits. The steak was served cold, and overall the food was disgusting and nowhere near the quality you would expect from a restaurant charging these prices. When I politely explained that the food was unacceptable and requested a refund, management became argumentative instead of trying to resolve the situation. Rather than addressing the obvious quality issues, they seemed more concerned with refusing responsibility. Between the questionable freshness of the fish, cold steak, poor food quality, and lack of customer service, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are far better sushi restaurants in Jacksonville Beach that actually care about the quality of their food and their customers.

We decided to try somewhere new last Saturday night and were told about a 30-minute wait, which is usually a good sign as the place was packed. They took our number and texted us about 20 minutes later when two seats opened at the hibachi bar. Grabbing those seats was the best decision we made as we were entertained by both the hibachi chefs and the sushi station all night. The chefs were interactive, friendly, and clearly skilled at what they do. Our waitress, Jennifer, was absolutely on point, accommodating, polite, and happy to offer recommendations that did not disappoint. We ordered the shrimp tempura, bagel roll, and spider roll for sushi, along with the shrimp and steak hibachi, which she thoughtfully split onto two plates for us without even being asked. The sushi arrived first, beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Soup and salad followed, then the hibachi entrée , all timed perfectly so we never felt rushed or overcrowded with dishes. The shrimp was fresh, the steak cooked perfectly, and the fried rice seasoned just right with herbs and spices that complemented the entire meal. Every part of the experience flowed from start to finish. A return visit is already in the works this month. Highly recommend this spot and major thanks to the employees for being at the top of their game! Truly a 5 star experience.
