Great brunch and lunch. Outdoor venue with large patio. Fast casual so order at the counter. Food comes out quick, has a great presentation, and everything was tasty. We recommend the burgers and breakfast burritos. Kids menu available as well. Also reasonable prices. Only downside was the line to order moved very slowly due to only one cashier, and the water comes in tiny plastic cups. Otherwise, definitely a great lunch spot to check out! read more

Visiting Dad in Glendale decided to try this place. Ambiance is great place looks just like pictures , Cali weather was amazing. I enjoyed my drink had a juice(red goddess very healthy and earthy) and bf had a smoothie (Jamba juice vibes ) He had waffle and chicken - chicken was dry and it tasted like it was frozen and not cooked thoroughly , I had a basic eggs and sausage with toast. The food was regular , a little bland. But it was a nice experience and I would suggest improving on food a little more. read more

I definitely have to come back here because the day I went, it was ONE HUNDRED degrees so there was no way my boyfriend and I were gonna dine outside in that hot weather Staff was very nice and understanding about it, because we first asked to dine in but ended up asking to take the food to go due to how hot it was... Food was pretty solid! Since we didn't get to eat hot, it probably would've tasted better if I got to eat my avacado toast fresh because my egg wasn't runny ): I ordered the famous rainbow latte as well, and it's simply just a plain latte with fancy foam, but coffee is coffee :3 ! read more

Really great place to have coffee and a little something in a peaceful spot for breakfast. In all honesty, it's not one of my favorite places for breakfast. But I love the coffee, the ambiance, and sweet items they have on their menu! My boyfriend really enjoyed his breakfast burrito though! It's so relaxing and beautiful!! But my preference for breakfast is typically comfort food. So if you like this kind of breakfast food style, you'd be very happy! read more

Super cute place with lots of veg and meat options. The rainbow latte is gorgeous and tasty but at $8 a cup, it's a one time deal for me probably. The vegan options were really good but the Cali bowl was a bit of a disappointment. Very few ingredients and a whole lot of cauliflower. The avocado toast was a hit! There is street parking and they have a small parking lot. Nestled in the Glendale mountains, this place has a homey vibe with good outdoor seating. Go for brunch. You order at the counter and pick a table. They bring your food to you. Nice service. read more

Nice variety of food menu. We were a group of six and everyone enjoyed their breakfast. The beverage menu is a little basic; nonetheless, the espresso drinks were delicious. The ambiance is relaxing and aesthetically captivating. I loved the owl painting in the tree and the 3-D white flowers. Service staff are nice and welcoming. Highly recommend this cafe. My fiance and I discovered this gem on IG. We were driving aimlessly on a Sunday afternoon after church and bumped into it and of course we couldn't resist but to drop by it since we were captivated by its breathtaking view and aesthetics . We had a wonderful experience our meal was delicious, very flavorful and fresh as well as our drinks....customer service outstanding, the restaurant was spotless with a vibrant and romantic atmosphere. My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday during the afternoon on our way to Descanso Gardens. Not only was it insanely crowded with no tables available, but the line was painstakingly long to even place an order. The employees running food outside are trying to squeeze past the line of people trying to order, sometimes grabbing random supplies from a cabinet underneath the customer side of the register. On this particular day, there was a strong stench of sewage, I can't speak to if this is typical or not. We decided to get our food to go as it didn't look like we would be able to get a table and the smell was so overpowering. In total, from the time we got in line to getting our food, we waited for close to an hour! All for a mediocre steak salad, sprinkled with unwashed red peppers. Best of luck Wild Oak! read more

This place is definitely one of the most hidden gems in Glendale. Their food is pretty good for brunch and lunch and their lattes are definitely something worth getting. I had the avocado toast and tried some of the softshell crab sandwich and a steak and cheese sandwich and all did not disappoint. The downside to this place is definitely finding parking and a table, especially on a busy day. It's quite a wait but not too long until someone gets up and leave. You do have to order first and then grab a table once you get your table number. Definitely a great place to just have nice conversations and enjoy a beautiful day. Used to like this place. No longer. It's a Monday. Restaurant half full. It took 45 minutes to get our food. Hot mocha delivered as a matcha latte. As a correction they bring a mocha, barely warm, that tastes like a hot chocolate. My husband's scrambled eggs were SO overdone they looked ashen. My 3 over medium-well eggs were burnt with punctured egg yolks. After 2 bites I just "couldn't" . . . they remade them into over easy, uncooked eggs which I couldn't eat either. Husband's bacon overcooked, hard, and cold. Waffle had wilted, cottage cheese-looking "whipped cream". I'm still hungry and will have to go home and scrounge a breakfast for myself after we spent over $50, not counting a tip, on this breakfast experience. Not coming back. read more

Truly a hidden gem! The drive there and the view was magical. The location is isolated, it felt so serene and breathtaking. It was an overcast day today with a little bit of rain, so it made it even more breathtaking. I can't wait to come back. The ambiance is beautiful and peaceful. There is parking space on both sides of the restaurant. You order inside and they bring your food out. There is only one large outdoor area with many tables spaced out graciously. The service is great and staff is nice. We got the avocado toast with poached eggs, breakfast burrito with hash brown, and the stuffed toast. We were all pleased with our meals. I had the breakfast burrito and it was delicious. It had the perfect balance of all the ingredients and was wrapped so neatly that I ate it all with not a single crumb produced. Each bite was balanced and oh so very YUM. The salsa on the side was great, but I would ask for more next time because I just love salsa and enjoy my mouth being on fire. We will definitely come back on a cool weekday because it was so nice and quiet, and the weather was perfect. I would even bring my laptop to do some work in the future because it's just such a chill place. read more

Steak sando + onion rings = ok Service = wildly busy on weekend brunch/ lunch hour, I'd avoid if possible. Prices = even with the extraordinary inflation priced in its up there, hence the high expectations. Verdict = would I avoid if invited for an outing here? No. Would I patron the place myself? Negative. Even with the busier-than-usual wait staff factored out of the equation, for this kind of money I expect something that stands out, perhaps like a really good roll that the sando is assembled on, or house-made pickles etc... 3 stars. read more

Lovely place for brunch! I came here for a late lunch with my good friend - free parking was a breeze on a Sunday afternoon! Pear Gorgonzola salad was so delish. And my friend was loving the rose water! Best part was the Barbie or Oppenheimer special latte art they have currently! All my friends I sent it to was asking where I got that! Just to note there is only outdoor patio seating- order at the counter and they bring the food to you. No booze either. But the cafe is set in the middle of a very cute Glendale neighborhood and next to the Chevy Chase Country Club. Def will be back here for more brunches :) read more

There's no seating inside so if it's summer be ready to feel the heat or the cold in winter, do go in spring, it's perfect. Food was okay, not great. The coffee was delicious and pretty. There's little parking but some around. read more

I had a matcha latte and the stuffed French toast with a side of sausages and it was all SO Good!! I'd definitely come here again. Surprisingly, The French toast wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. The orange marmalade wasn't super strong either and the whipped cream had cinnamon in it. Perfect balance in my opinion. My partner had a grilled chicken sandwich, the chicken was an orange color because of the seasoning which we initially thought might've meant it was going to be spicy but it wasn't, so that's a plus if you can't do spicy. Wild Oat Cafe was the highest rated brunch restaurant in the area I happened to be in already. Everything LOOKed good, but that's about it. The restaurant was super cute when MayLene D. and I made the trek through the mountain. There was cute outdoor patio seating. Basically you order and pay inside, and then seat yourself at any open table and they'll bring the food out shortly. MayLene D. had the Steak and Eggs Breakfast Sandwich ($17) and a regular size Rainbow Latte ($8). I decided on an Avocado Toast with Poached Eggs ($15) and being a coffee lover I opted for a large size Rainbow Latte ($9). The downfall to my experience was my attempt to go to the restroom. The person right before me was an employee. When I came in the toilet was not flushed. I kicked the handle down and it was still disgusting... If it was a customer and the scenario was out of the restaurant's hands I would be more understanding, but since it was an employee I hold them fully accountable. I had to spend the rest of my time here with my bladder full since their restroom is overwhelmingly dirty. Their patio roof was also leeky because water dripped on me. What an awful experience so far and it gets worst... The food and coffee arrived and there was a glimmer of hope. Everything looked decent. However the coffee is only good for its' aesthetics. Both MayLene D. and I did not like the coffee. It was so bland. I basically paid $9 for a picture and an inedible cup of *coffee*. The food was just as disappointing. MayLene D. described her food like that cheapie $1 McDonalds taste. My avocado toast that is above in pricing than my typical avocado toast has MUSHY avocado. It was really missing some protein like bacon or something. It was very BLAND too. Do these people run out of salt and seasoning on our visit. We paid a lot of money for a terrible meal that we left mostly unfinished. Considering what a hassle it was to get here and no positive feelings from my personal experience, I do NOT recommend this spot. And for the record I'm so annoyed I had to pay and tip up front for this minimal service, dirty restroom scenario. read more

I am not quite sure what it is, it's a hit and miss for me. The staff is super friendly ,but most of the tables were left with dirty dishes on them. It's a small yet quaint place and the atmosphere is quite lovely. The food is beautifully plated, looks delicious, yet to me personally for what it is -it's a bit pricey. I recommend possibly offering specials on certain days. The colour burst latte is a must if you come here, certainly beautiful to look at! They messed up my order as it was supposed to be a vanilla latte and it was just regular. For the 9$ that it was, I wished I would have gotten what I ordered. All in all if you are looking for a unique departure within the hustle and bustle and you have a willingness to treat yourself to something special - this is the perfect place! read more

This i a pretty place but that is about all i can say about it. The place is dirty, food on the ground, syrupy tables. The food is .... just wow so disappointing. The "Soft Shell Crab" sandwich is so so bad. I really wanted to like it but the sandwich is 90% super sweet funnel cake batter and 10% sad crab served on a brioche bun with flavorless coleslaw. Even after drenching with hot sauce its still just sickeningly and unexpectedly sweet. The garlic fries are tasty though. It's crazy that I never knew about this place. This place is in a beautiful residence I guess I'm picking up for Linda Kim July 2, 1983. I think she just called it in or I mean I'm dropping off and picking up OK thank you bye area as you go in you first order your food from the register and then you sit down and then they bring the food over to you. They have many selections of different drink options from smoothie coffee lattes and juices. They have a full variety of breakfast sandwiches burrito salad. read more

The ambience of this location is wonderful. And their colorful artistic lattes are unique and tasty. I would recommend going early, however because they don't have a formal organized seating situation , aka first come first serve, and it gets a bit tricky to find seating on a busy day. read more

A friend took me here for brunch after a walk at the Pasadena Rosebowl and i am definitely coming back! I didn't see any parking lots but there are a lot of spots on the street. The view is serene and the place has a rustic vibe to it. Outside seating only and dogs are allowed. You have to order first then find your seat. Prices were fair and the food was on point! Afogato is a must! I had to have it prior to my meal, lol. Love the vibe. Everyone was accomodating. They had diff variety of tea, not just coffee. I need to try the rest of their foid bec it looks scrumptous. read more

Finally made it out to Wild Oak Cafe. I have always wondered where this was since I have not driven in this part of Glendale and it was a solid 20 min drive from Glendale so be ready for a local adventure . To start I will say that you must order and they will assign you a seat since the tables are numbered. They don't allow you to sit until you order your food. Trust the system it really works. Cappuccino and Lattes look great and taste good if you like the large cup with a ton of milk. I'm more of a 1 to 1 ratio on my espresso and milk. The food was very good and the environment makes you feel like you are on a road trip with a stop along the way. They have 1 shareable bathroom. read more

My favorite is the Classic Italian. My wife's favorite is the Prosciutto Panini. FYI - For those who don't like thick bread, you may not like the grilled sesame baguette. But you can totally ask them to replace with the grilled ciabatta! Parking in my opinion just sucks all around Highland Park in general. There is a parking lot at the corner of Meridian / Ave 51 around the corner, but we've never had any luck getting a spot in there so just expect to have to find street parking.

I mentioned this because we missed it on one of our attempts. Finally, on Sunday evening, my husband and I had a chance to visit Butcher and Booze. Very interesting store, with a delicious smell. There is a huge section of drinks where you can find very unique wines and alcoholic beverages. They also have a section of Japanese drinks, and in another corner, different kinds of unique seasonings, BBQ charcoal, and other BBQ supplies. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Next to the drinks section, there are several tables available indoors and two tables on the sidewalk for outdoor dining to enjoy your meals. Their food menu is very interesting, and we tried the Philly cheesesteak and pastrami sandwiches (which they prepare completely in-house from A to Z). The sandwiches were super delicious, juicy, and full of flavor. One thing that surprised me was the amount of salt they used -- it was exactly the right amount, and we didn't get thirsty after eating them. These sandwiches are some of the best we've tried so far, and I highly recommend giving them a try. I noticed a huge samovar (large kettle) and another kettle in the corner of the open kitchen, and I asked about them. Argisht, who noticed my interest and who I believe is behind the kitchen and the delicious food success there, started a very warm and helpful conversation with us and surprised us by serving cups of tea. The tea tasted super soft and delicious. If you have ever tried Middle Eastern tea, you will love this tea. Luckily, they are selling it in the store, if I am not wrong it was Sri Lanka tea, which I have never seen in any store around Glendale or Burbank. Can't wait to try other cuts! When we checked out, they offered us two small complimentary bottles of champagne and some produce from their refrigerated area. this was so kind of them to do so. This place is like your one stop shop - hot food, butcher, alcoholic drinks, liquor, and other cooking goods like seasonings, caviar, butter etc. Unfortunately they were not serving sandwhiches that day so we didn't get to try but we will definitely be coming back to try!
