Today was what I call "maintenance day" and decided I wanted to get my nails done. We were in the area and figured why not try Wild Orchids! Wild Orchids is a Chinese nail salon, located in Westwood. This was actually my first time getting my nails done at a Chinese-owned salon, in the US. I am Chinese myself, and felt comfort hearing some Chinese tunes playing. I felt at home honestly and wondered to myself why I haven't gone this place sooner. Today, I decided to get a chrome gel manicure, no acrylic extensions. Lol, also the first time I opted for no nail extensions & did natural nails. My nail tech was Fanny, who was very kind and did a great job! My nails came out exactly how I wanted them to ;). I asked for two coats of OPI Funny Bunny, one coat OPI Bubble Bath, + chrome finish. The nail salon was super clean. The tools used are all sterilized well. I consider their prices pretty fair, compared to other nail salons I have been to in the city. I would come back again and recommend coming here if you're around in the area! read more

Went here last week with an appointment. I got gel manicure and regular pedicure done while my daughter wanted to get some special designs on hers. Liked the cleanliness and the simplicity here. And they needed masks which made me feel safe given the pandemic we are in. The lady doing my cuticles cut me 4 different times. And it's been exactly a week and my gel is falling apart already. Sunny did my daughter's nails and hers look beautiful even today like they are freshly done. Her experience was much different from mine. I stumbled across this gem over a month ago as I was searching for a nail salon that does nail design. I wanted to try Gel X acrylic since my nails are constantly breaking and peeling when I do regular gel polish. The employee assisting me recommended I do hard gel since my nails were a decent length. I had never heard about hard gel but decided to listen to the employee since she was the professional. Let me tell you, that was the BEST advice I have gotten for my nails. Not only were my nails done beautifully, the hard gel feels hard like acrylic without the damage!!! And best of all it lasted me a month(I could have gone longer). That was never possible for me. I just went back for a second visit and the process the remove the hard gel was seamless. No soak off needed and best of all my natural nails look so much healthier and stronger. I got my nails done last Saturday, I was able to book an appointment last minute and they were very flexible with the time! I came a few minutes late, but the staff was very accommodating and I was still able to be seated right away. Initially I was worried that the gel was too thin and my nails would break, but after a week of walking dogs and office work they are still holding up strong! I love the shaping and the inverted French was done exactly as I like it! It took about an hour and a half in total, they were very gentle but meticulous with the entire process. Overall it was a great experience, my only issue being that there is a $10 up charge to use a card rather than cash which I didn't know about until after my appointment, I would have brought more cash with me! read more

They lie to get you in the door. I went here for Apres gel X nails extension. They told me they offered it when I called. A friend and I were going together and they wanted to do acrylic. They also said they offered acrylics which they don't! They use gel. When I got there, they use some kind of korean off brand of apre gel and after a week and a half both my pointer fingers popped off. I paid over $100 for that set and didn't even last two weeks. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. As I'm sure everyone reading this review has noticed, this page has over 500 photos of nails done at this salon, so I was hoping for the best. I was honestly hoping what I got was a cruel joke because I was SHOCKED. Firstly, when I made the appt on the phone they asked if I wanted designs. I told the woman on the phone that I definitely would and she told me that she would make sure I was paired with someone that could. I may not have the best eyesight but this was NOT it, nowhere close honestly. The colors aren't the same, the lines are super messy, and my nails weren't shaped how I requested. When I would try to stop the woman and give feedback about the nails (to ensure I don't walk out looking ridiculous), she would interrupt me and tell me she's "not done." I came here for my friends birthday celebration and my nails finished a little after close, so I didn't ask her to fix them at that point. Here's the best part, after she was "done", one nail tech went to try to take a picture of my nails where I heard the nail tech tell the other nail tech in mandarin not to take a picture of my nails because they were ugly. I took mandarin for 10+ years; I know what was said, as she then proceeded to put her phone away and not take the picture. I was so embarrassed and angry by the end of this that when she was finished, I wanted to cry. So when they told me the price I didn't even fight or want to make a big deal out of it as I felt so defeated. Needless to say, I don't think a gel pedicure and whatever this joke of a gel refill was should've cost me a total of $155. If I was being upcharged for anything then I should've been asked if it was alright or informed of the price. Considering I didn't even get when I asked for, I shouldn't have paid. But I was so mortified by the treatment I received that I didn't even want to go back for them to fix it. So just to sum it up: bad service, bad work, overcharging customers and disrespect? All I can call this is a joke. read more

My first time as a customer. Now typically I'm open to others doing my nails. However, i also know I can be picky. This place is a gem to find in the area! They're friendly and clean. I noticed the many gel colors they had, so I opted to make sure I checked for their price list first. Reviewed the prices and proceeded to start my services (won't mention who). I did a fullset Gel X nails set, gel polish and the "funny bunny" top coat, pedicure with callus remover with a repeat of colors for my feet as well. So to quickly rewind, I forgot to mention I was not a fan of the shape of my nails since the start!!!! So I had 2 other ppl after being done make attempts to have them look close to what I wanted. After all this, my total was $150!!!! I almost DIED! I was shocked and amazed. Let's just say, not sure I was fairly charged correctly bcus when I asked for an itemized cost list...they actually failed to tell me that some of my services were "special additions" hence those "special additions " weren't ever listed on their price list tho plus a charge for the number of ppl who filed my nails . I went to Wild Orchids early this week and I was truly impressed. I'm somewhat new to the "nail/manicure" world and was not really informed about the options that I had to achieve mMy desired results. They took the time to explain all of the different techniques that they use as well as their pros and cons. After spending a lot of time with me I set up an appointment for the next day and showed them the picture off of their Yelp page that I wanted for my nails. The next day I was a bit late (sorry) but they were very professional and got straight to work. Fanny did my nails and she worked so hard to make them look the way I wanted.
