The decor has remained traditional and without change over the many years it has been opened - which is a good thing; it's tasteful and comfy. We decided to visit again after a long pause. I have been a regular at Wildfire for many years, frequently enjoying a nice filet or prime rib. Tonight I opted for another classic, the prime rib sandwich which had a fair amount of fat but was otherwise amazing. The service was friendly and pretty good. One big disappointment they add a 5% COVID 19 service charge. Seriously. The restaurant was packed full, they even have a tent in the parking lot which was packed full, And they even have a slimmed down menu. The restaurant is doing just fine. Food and service are always great. Most recently my husband and I dined in for our anniversary! We were seated in a booth overlooking the entire dining room which was fun to observe! We started off with the chopped salad- this is my favorite salad around town. I love the tangy cheese mixed with the crunchy tortilla chips mixed with the lettuce and yummy dressing. So good! We shared the filet mignon trio with parmesan, horseradish, and mushroom crust and loved them all! Each crust added a nice savoriness to the meat...I think my fav was the horseradish but hubby preferred the parmesan! They steaks were tender and cooked to perfection. We also had the salmon on a wood plank and this was not my favorite. My husband loved it but I felt like I could make it the same at home. I'd recommend sticking with the steak instead! read more

Food, service and ambience is phenomenal the only thing I have a complaint about is the surcharge on our bill. They removed it because we noticed. Covid is over this is getting to be to much with restaurants doing this. Let the customers know that there a surcharge, if you need to cover the overhead my suggestion is raise the prices. First let me say that Wildfire is my go to once a week restaurant with a group of friends. We always go to the location at the Glen and have never had a bad meal. I had a party last night and one of the entree selections was Prime rib of beef As far as I am concerned the Prime Rib was inedible. I couldn't even cut it to put a piece in my mouth because of how tough it was. Once I finally cut a piece off it was impossible to chew and swallow!.One guest at my table began to choke as meat got caught in her throat. Scallops, filet medallions, wine selection, and bison meatballs were all great. I enjoyed the cheesecake! Though it's noted as having a sour cream top, the key is its dense lower section. Most of the staff were patient and helpful. The one waitress came across as "too busy" to properly attend and listen. The Roaring 20's vibe is fun and not overdone. Hadn't been here in a while but decided to take the in-laws here for lunch for their birthdays. I got the french onion soup and crab cakes which were just ok. FIL got beef tips which he said were cooked a little too long (medium instead of medium rare). MIL got the salmon and my husband got a burger - they both said it was pretty good. My wife and I have long had great affinity for the various Wildfire locations we have patronized and have long enjoyed the Lincolnshire site. That the food would arrive at our table meticulously prepared and in ample quantity is a foregone conclusion and the sponsoring cause of our repeated use. Less certain, however, is the quality of service which its waitstaff delivers, with wide variation correlated to biopsychosocial attributes of the server in question. We've never really had any issues with the waitstaff prior to this past Friday evening, when we suffered through "Angel B" who must have been having a bad day. Years ago Erving Goffman reminded us that nobody is a "constant biography" so I'll give her (they/them whatever) the benefit of the doubt here. Surely Wildfire's recruitment and hiring practices are consonant with the excellent dish preparation it proffers. That said, this server's disposal of its duties warrants remediation. From the moment we were seated, Angel's service was perfunctory at best, haphazard at worst. Did she bring the dishes we ordered? Yes. Did she do so with any modicum of enthusiasm whatsoever? Negative. While the bus person was extremely attentive and thoughtful, Angel was not. I noticed the other waitstaff members introducing themselves by name. Not our ebullient bundle of joy, "Angel B", who also varied from her/its colleagues' standard of care by failing to inform us of the nightly specials. Odd, as a gentleman (personal pronouns likely "he/him" but could be "they" ) collegue of our effervescent paragon of servitude, no more than six feet away and within earshot of the adjacent table, fastiodously described and explained the myriad specials available. Although a moot point from the get go as we had no intention, once seated and exposed to her blase demeanor, of spending any more money for lackluster service, it would have been nice to know nevertheless. The litmus test and dealbreaker for us related to the manner in which "Angel B" delivered our check post consumption. I recall a time when the waitstaff walked to the table, handed the folio to the customer, made eye contact and thanked the consumer for visiting. Not our "Angel", who was either pre-occupied, untrained or completely impervious to the most rudimentary elements of service provision. Lacking both a salutation and conclusionary "thank you" when delivering the ample bill to us, both my wife and I were, at that point, incredulous that Wildfire either would be unaware of,or passively accepting of, such acerbic demeanor. In conclusion, although a minor inconvenience, perhaps attributable to the server's bad day or episodic/acute life event at the time of our arrival, this demeanor will have a chilling effect on our propensity to return. Does Wildfire, or the server in question care? After all, I'm one consumer amidst thousands that have only laudatory comments for and appreciation of the establishment. People like Angel would, however, do well to realize that within a file mile range of this establishment there are at least five other restaurants that we'd be more than happy to visit in search of the somewhat elusive, shiny, happy, well attired, physically fit and non-lugubrious person "slinging hash" on the other side of the table. read more

I was in the area for a conference and a friend brought me here for dinner. The ambience is traditional steakhouse decor, which fits it well. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgable about the menu. I had the BASIL HAYDEN'S BOURBON TENDERLOIN TIPS, which were tender and delicious (and paired nicely with a glass of bourbon. My friend had the FILET MEDALLION TRIO, with their three signature crusts: horseradish, parmesan or blue cheese. We both had broccoli for the sides. Had our Valentine's Day dinner at Wildfire. Been here several times and never left disappointed. Our waitress was very friendly, really took the time to listen to the customers, and offered helpful recommendations. Let's start with their version of cornbread. Our favorite!! Had seconds. Slightly crunchy on the outside and very moist on the inside. It even has kernels of juicy corn. Addicting really. I tried the Tuscan Kale and Spinach Salad and I am so happy that I did. Fresh, not over-dressed and so good!! My husband ordered the Lump Crabcakes. I almost finished both. This was the second restaurant that really had authentic crabmeat with very little to no fillers. My father-in-law goes to this restaurant regularly, and chose Wildfire for his birthday tonight. I find them overpriced, but he likes it, so we went. When we arrived, they served cornbread as the bread of choice. He likes their onion bread, asked for it, was told very matter-of-factly that cornbread was all they had. Fine, moving on. We all order our meals, three of the people at the table order fish. The food comes out....and he got, I kid you not, I attached the picture.... a 2" by 4" by 3/4" piece of fish. It was laughable. I took the picture, immediately went to the front desk, showed them. Their response? Absolutely nothing. $28 for the picture that you see. If you want to go to this restaurant, feel free. That's my last visit. Unbelievable. And for the record, in perspective, he does not have very large hands. $28. read more

This is a really nice wildfire location. The service is top notch. I went here recently for a meal with coworkers and they were able to accommodate our whole group. For dinner, I ordered a rib eye with fries and a glass of wine. The steak was slighlty over medium which was a bit of a let down as was the seasoning! It was kind of bland, and I expected more. WHAT HAPPENED TO WILDFIRE LINCOLNSHIRE? Over the past year or two, the quality of food and sometimes the service has become wildly inconsistent. We used to visit regularly, and enjoyed bringing guests. During Covid, we have frequently used curbside pickups, as the location is convenient and the menu is quite extensive. Several times we have returned home to find items missing (sauces, or sides) or overcooked and dry (salmon or ribs) or undercooked (nearly raw cottage fries). We were reimbursed with points but it was not a satisfactory remedy when we were expecting the dinner we had ordered. We want our favorite places to survive this pandemic but unless lapses are pointed out, it is possible management may not be aware. Great local steakhouse, the place was packed on a Thursday night, service was great. The corn bread served in the bread basket is the best I have had so far. I had the bison filet, it was prepared medium rare per chef's recommendation and it was melting like butter a perfect piece of lean meat. The cream of spinach ordered with it was cooked to perfection as well. They have a full bar with a great selection of cocktails, also nice wine selection and beer. My wife and I celebrated my birthday as usual with dinner at Wildfire in Glenview. We visited on a Thursday evening because my wife enjoys the special for that day: braised beef short ribs. We were seated in the Avalon room, a quieter location than the main dining room. I ordered the Wildfire cabernet wine ($10.50), which I found to be robust but a bit high in tannins. For starters, I chose a bowl of French onion soup ($9.95); my wife and I found this to be robust in flavor without excessive saltiness. My entrée was the New York strip steak ($44.95), ordered - and prepared - "medium well." My wife, of course, chose the short ribs ($35.95). Both entrees were tasty and not excessively salty. Our sides of au gratin and roasted potatoes were also delicious. Our server, Mary Beth, was excellent. My only complaint is the continuing escalation in prices, including an annoying 3% surcharge. read more

I hadn't been to Wildfire in a while but I went with my husband and his grandma to get dinner. We ordered the larger size offered of prime rib, filet mignon, and this filet mignon Wellington. 1/3+ of the prime rib was rubbery fat that was almost inedible but the parts you could eat, was good enough. Like passable but not something I ever want to get from them again. The Filet Mignon Wellington was done rare and it was pretty much raw with the pastry looking anemic. The dough was actually white and seemed completely uncooked. What a joke. read more

This place was pretty good. When we got there at 7:30 for our 7:30 reservation, they made us wait about 5 minutes :( although it was only 5 minutes I was pretty saddened by this. The service was fine (at best)... pretty eh but not bad. The food on the other hand was very mid, decent at best. I was VERY disappointed to learn that they got rid of my favorite bread :( My party of 5 got 5 different meals, the burger, pork chops, the salmon and ribs. Overall they were all 7/10. My friend requested her burger well done... and it was pink (pictured down below). However my grilled chicken club was just fantastic- lots of flavor, WONDERFUL! Overall I'm not sure I would come back because as a whole it was kinda mid. If I'm in the area I would consider making an appearance at the restaurant, but wouldn't go out of my way for it. You're better of driving a couple more minutes to go to the PRESTIGIOUS AND WONDERFUL Eddie Merlots. MY FAVORITE!!!! The end of my stay concluded with a trip to the bathroom that was interesting. The wallpaper really caught my eye (pictured below)... and not in a good way... LOL! However I did appreciate the paper towels by the door that you could easily use to open the door without getting germs on your hands! Let me first say two things. They did an excellent job of setting the outside for dining. The tables seemed to be set apart at the proper distance and inside the restaurant there was plenty of room between tables. Kudos for that. The second exceptional thing was Julia our waitress. She was really a terrific waitress who was very helpful and above all she was very nice. These were the good things. Unfortunately for me the bad thing was the food. I would like to say that my husband had the skirt steak and the portion size was great and he enjoyed everything about the skirt steak. I ordered the $45 ribeye steak and honestly expected it to be perfect. I ordered it medium rare with a baked potato which I did not see that it was $2 extra. I cut into my steak and knew it was not medium rare in fact most of where I cut it was medium well done. The steak was overcooked, chewy and excessively fatty. I cut off one whole section that was all fat. The more I thought about it the angrier I got and finally sent it back. The next steak was cooked perfectly but as far as I was concerned it was the same quality meat. I was shocked that they left the steak on the bill. They did give us a free piece of pie. Things were just done poorly, not what I would expect from an expensive restaurant Live and learn! I need to add that they generously offered me a free dessert of which I chose cherry pie. Wildfire totally dropped the ball tonight on our delivered meals. Ordered two Tuesday turkey specials. Stuffing consisted of mashed redskins, a few chopped up vegetable pieces, and 3-4 chunks of bread. I've never had stuffing before made with mashed potatoes. Hope to never again. Their "stuffing" was served with a side of mashed potatoes. Really? $82 for 7-8 pieces of turkey and essentially 4 servings of mashed potatoes. One meal was missing the cranberry relish. Horribly disappointing meal. Took 90 minutes to get on top of everything else. We ordered this same menu item a few weeks ago and it was outstanding. Not only is it affordable, but they make it perfect everytime with the most delicious horseradish sauce. Based on reviews here and elsewhere I had high hopes for this place and was sadly disappointed. Upon entry it was like walking into a retirement home; drab, quiet, and the only person under 30 was the hostess. The drink menu is severely underdeveloped and lacking. All but one of the red wines were from California (one from a South America), which is sign number one this isn't a real steakhouse/chophouse. The mixed drinks feature Pucker mixers, which is yet another red flag. Our server was outgoing and attentive, although he jokes became a little much as the evening went on. The food was subpar. We got crab cakes, soup, New York strip, coconut shrimp, and two sides of scalloped potatoes. My husbands first reaction to the food was, "Gordon Ramsey would be cursing right now". Crab cakes were under seasoned and flavorless as were the coconut shrimp, which also had soft breading and flavorless dipping sauce. The scalloped potatoes were from a box, undercooked, and watery. The New York strip was tender, and that's the only compliment to be given about it. Our waiter brought a free slice of cake for my birthday and had the bar make two really good espresso martinis. Overall, this place was a huge letdown. I truly felt like I was visiting my grandparents retirement village for dinner and have not experienced a drab steakhouse/chophouse like this ever. read more

We both shared the small Wildfire chopped salad. Excellent choice with such fresh flavors and the vinaigrette dressing is so light love the crispy tortilla strips. The small is huge we didn't finish it all but really enjoyed it. For dinner I had the lavraki/bronzino. I adore this fish always but was a little disappointed in whomever filleted it because they were messy and left random bones/pieces. I always say if you cannot fillet it properly leave it whole which is another way I enjoy my fish. I love eating the skin but had a hard time enjoying it cause of improper cleaning technique. I chose roasted vegetables as side they were perfect. My friend had the filet mignon and creamy spinach. She enjoyed it very much. We enjoyed hot tea after dinner I chose peppermint she had peach green tea. I really like the brand Rishi tea they offer it is same kind the Pfister hotel in Milwaukee uses for their hightea service in Blu room which is excellent if you never been. The tea is sourced from the best places but headquartered in Milwaukee. We were staying at the Hampton Inn next door so this place was a natural choice for dinner - it was also repeatedly recommended by the check in staff at the hotel.  This was the first time since the pandemic started we dined indoors in a dining room that's at full capacity but with a booth to ourselves and some distancing of the other tables it felt quite acceptable.  They do have an outdoor area under a tent but it's basically in a parking lot with no ambience whatsoever whereas the inside has nice contemporary steakhouse decor including artsy mural sized black and white photos of party scenes from what looks to be early last century on the walls.  We had steak and house chopped salad with chicken.  Both good and in substantial portions - anything entree size here is probably best to be shared.  Or you'll have to pack some to take away like most diners.  So while it's not an inexpensive restaurant you won't ever leave hungry. read more
