We attended the grand opening last year and fell in love with this sweet location of one of our favorite restaurants! LOCATION: -Word of caution if you're visiting now or in the next few weeks (today is 8/8/19), the stores to the left of Wildflower have been torn down and access to the back parking lot is restricted by temporary fencing, so parking might be a pain if it's busy and the spots directly in front of the restaurant are all full -lots of seating inside and the elevated tables along the front of the restaurant near the checkout stations have outlets GALORE in case you choose this as your workstation for the day (or even if you just need to charge your phone during lunch!) SERVICE: -service is always on point, and they are quick to fix anything with a smile! -today my little sister ordered soup in a bread bowl but it came in a regular bowl. We pointed it out to the server and he immediately brought it back to the kitchen and it came out in a bread bowl within a few minutes! THE FOOD: -today I had the Chicken Pistachio Salad and it was chock full of arugula, pistachios, kalamata olives, and much more! The vinaigrette was perfect and not too sweet, and they put the feta on the side for me like I asked! -it's worth adding that I almost always alter the salad in one way or another when I eat here and they have never messed up my order. Customer service really can heal many wounds and I've gotta give it up to Andrea who is a rockstar manager. I've been a huge fan of this place for years, I even bring out of state family here! On the few occasions i've had issues it was usually with the wait time or sloppy to-go orders. With the pandemic I pretty much only order to-go now and for the most part the quality is the same as you'd get when dining in which has been great! Now, this location is not a quick trip, from my home to here it's a MINIMUM of 20 min drive with no traffic. That's 40 min round trip of just drive time. So you can imagine my frustration when getting all the way home to find a chicken-less Caesar salad. I know it's just a salad but after a long day I really wasn't too enthused about having to eat lettuce and croutons for dinner, or having to make another 40 min drive there and back, and I was debating on whether I could just deal with it. I ended up calling to let them know what happed and after speaking with Andrea on the phone about the issue she definitely made up for it. She was so understanding and apologetic on the phone, it felt genuine and the way she talked was less robotic and more personable. At the end of the call when she said "I got you girl", I felt in good hands and more like I was talking to a friend who would take care of everything. So I made the drive, 1hr 20min total spent driving for a salad, but Andrea made it worth it. She refunded my order to exact specification, had it remade for when I arrived (with extra chicken) and even gave me a gift card for the next visit without even asking. I was pretty blown away by the kindness and empathy she showed. Free stuff is great and all but even without the gift card, that type of sincere customer service is what will keep me coming back. We love this location. Food is always great and decor can't be beat. Also plugs in all the table which helps if you need to charge. Plus the patio is great and the kids can run around on the grass. I love getting loaves of the Rosemary Sea Salt bread. It's delicious on its own and even better to make a cheddar grilled cheese sandwiches. I live in Tucson, and I love to stop at Wildflower any time I'm in Phoenix or Flagstaff. My husband loves the Chopped Salad with salmon, and I usually go with the Wildflower 2 with a half-sandwich and soup. I've tried a number of items. On this visit, I got the Ham and Swiss (one of my favorites; I love the slightly spicy honey mustard) with French Onion soup. Though I kinda wished I had gotten the Potato Cream Cheese soup, because I know that it amazing, and I found the French Onion to be okay, not great. I do love the Passion Fruit tea! This location seems to cater to a younger demographic. They had mimosas and beers on tap! I don't think I have been to any other locations serving any alcohol. Our service was fine, but I thought it was inappropriate and a bit awkward that the cashier asked for a tip. I am happy to leave a couple bucks on the table for staff that goes above and beyond, like offering to get refills or special requests, etc., but at an order-at-the-counter joint where someone just brings my food to the table and peaces out? Ordered the cheddar braised beef sandwich as I was really hungry and looking for something that would fill me up. Boy was I disappointed. It looks absolutely nothing like the photos advertised. I got the smallest amount of protein on this sandwich. It was laughable. All bread and cheddar cheese. Great when you pay $12 for the thing. On top of it, I ordered a cookie for desert and what'd I get? A misshapen cookie the size of their kids meal cookies. And it was so overcooked and hard. Truly disappointing all around. And on a night where there wasn't anyone in the restaurant. Not busy at all. My friend expressed dismay with not being able to use the Wildflower app on her Android. Ty called their IT person to find out why and then he came back to our table to let us know that the company is aware of the issue and for her to download it again in about 6 weeks as that is when changes & improvements to the app will be implemented. My favorite! I went on a trip to Sedona last year and stopped by this restaurant for a sandwich. What looked like a small little sand which spot, turned out to be my favorite thing in Arizona! Wildflower is a true treasure of Arizona. Amazon salads, soups, teas, and baked goods. My go to order is the Chopped salad. A beautiful plate of arugula, salmon, feta, dried cranberries, corn, peppers, and seeds. Topped with the most addicting pesto dressing. I always get an extra side of it to dunk my bread in. We ordered this for delivery via DoorDash and it was so good! My husband got the Reuben on sourdough and he loved it! He also mentioned that the chips were really good but he wished they had been packaged separately bc they got a little soggy with the sandwich. I love Wildflower in general but during this visit I found small pieces of cardboard/trash in my salad. I spit it out as I felt something hard mixed in with my salad. When I brought it to the bussers attention she advised her manager who went to search through my food. He didn't even come up to apologize for the poor experience or the fact that their foods most likely contaminated. Super frustrating since I don't like to complain but when you find trash in your food when it's basically gone is so nasty & violating. Food is good. VERY good even. I strongly recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes. The Millennial counter-order format is a huge turnoff for us. So, like many restaurants today, you walk in, order and pay before you receive your meal. The expectation is that you are going to TIP. For the younger folks among us: a tip is a reward for good service (I'm a good tipper, when there is good service, but counter service a d carryout don't rate). A tip is not a method to supplement substandard pay. A runner comes to the table and plops down the order and never returns to check on quality or satisfaction. Then, there is a presumption that you will bus your own table. Hard stop. So, while the repast was acceptable, the self-service concept would keep us from returning. Today's world has a lot to learn about service. For comparison's sake, IHOP has lower quality food but halfway decent waitstaff. More worth your hard-earned $$. read more
