I'm one of those people who say they don't write Yelp reviews (but I do read them). And then something comes along and you feel totally compelled to tell The Internet about it. Just by accident, I heard about Wildflower. My birthday seemed an excellent time to check it out and so I made a reservation for me, my special friend, and another couple. I'm going to skip all the details or this Yelp review will be longer than a 5280 writeup. We eat at nice restaurants... a lot. Our group agreed that our night out at Wildflower was one of the best restaurant experiences we've had in a while. The food, drinks, and service were stellar. In addition, our meal was supposed to be limited to two hours to allow for other patrons. But at the two hour mark we weren't even done with our (delicious) entrees. Somehow the staff managed to work it out and never said a word to us that we were over. I know some Yelp reviewers complained that they were given the bum's rush at the end of their reservation slot, so maybe restaurant management has adjusted their protocol around this. I understand that things are hard for restaurants, margins are thin, Wildflower is not a big space, and you need to turn tables. So my party was very grateful and impressed that they were able to so graciously accommodate us for a wonderful evening that ran an hour over our allotted time. Ideally, this is the kind of special experience that dining out should be. Another Yelp reviewer has said that Wildflower seems like one of the under-the-radar gems of the Denver dining scene. I am hesitant to reaffirm that, because as I said, the restaurant is not big, we overstayed our reservation time, and I selfishly don't want the whole world to know about this place. But we had an amazing time and I just hope you (Wildflower) can continue doing what you do. read more

Amazing food and super friendly service. This felt like an experience over just a meal which I love. My only complaint is the coursing. The staff is friendly and attentive. Huge shout out to Oren for curating the best dining experience I have ever had! Wonderful customer service but the prices and add on mandatory 20% fee about sent me over. If you're ok with $17-$25 drinks this is your place. The servers were nice, but not like $25 a drink nice. Union lodge ranks higher and that's what I was thinking for these prices. I would not mind if they were larger drinks or more quality. But drinks were small, like one gulp small. Acovas drinks are $12-14 and are same quality. So again it's really about the ambiance. Nothing wrong with having a nice place. But just work on either the pricing, or better drinks. read more

Awesome food and dinning experience. We hung out for several hours eating and drinking. The server made great recommendations, the menu changes seasonally, but some favs were the Blistered Snap Peas and the Grilled artichokes. All the food was delicious, but the small plates were the best. Skip the dessert, it was a bit to quirky. The service it's hard to decide about, he was awesome with great recommendations when he was at the table, but it felt like he forgot about us a few times and would disappear for a half hour, but when he popped back up he was very accommodating, so just plan on it being a leisurely meal. The atmosphere is like a trendy antique shop and feels refreshingly different in Denver. read more

We booked a reservation here on a whim for our anniversary not knowing what to expect but honestly I just thought it looked great for photos... The food did not disappoint. The flavor combinations were unlike anything you would ever expect but somehow complemented each other so well. My partner has food allergies and they were extremely accommodating and attentive to his needs, will definitely come back here again next time we visit Denver! Wildflower is celebrating their 1 year anniversary and I think it will be the first of very many! Unless someone's told you about Wildflower, it's unlikely you've seen it because the restaurant space is not marked from the street, except for a menu posted on the exterior of the building. One of the most fantastic experiences I've had in a while, Wildflower really brings home a very elevated old time-y Colorado experience. The ambiance is eclectic and really hits the mark for the frontier saloon vibe they're going for. Our service was absolutely remarkable, and everyone was very accommodating with our bigger group with a few dietary restrictions. The ambience is great. Great style. The menu is one of those menus where the chef went overboard on his/her personal touch. From pumpkin in the pasta dish to a horrible garlic puree with the below average Focaccia bread, this menu needs a complete overhaul. The place should be packed given the location and the character and style of the place, but the menu drags it all the way down to a 2 star. The way the food is presented is asinine as well. I don't need to know what farmer raised the meat or where the veggies come from or what glaze is splattered on the plate. This place is absolutely FANTASTIC. I've been twice now - once with a friend for dinner and drinks and another time just for drinks with a larger group. The service is impeccable, the ambiance is so chic and beautiful, and the drinks/food are some of the best I've had anywhere in the country. We told the waiter our tastes/dietary preferences (mine really and I've been called picky many times!) and he brought us out round after round of amazing shareable plates. We had been following this place for months and hadn't found the right time to get in until tonight. Usually, that's already unfair to a restaurant bc my expectations have become impossibly high with insta food porn and smoky cocktail boomerangs. Not at all. No disappointment. We had exceptional service (thanks, Alec!) And the host didn't even blink when I politely asked to move to a smaller table (I'm short and would have needed a phone book lol). Standouts were the grilled artichoke, pork shoulder and signature wildflower cocktail. But, every bite was an experience not just of taste but even thoughtful textures. Visiting Denver for a special wedding anniversary and stumbled on recommendations for this place. We were not disappointed. Made a reservation ahead of time, greeted warmly by the host and server, had great cocktails, ordered the tailored "wildflower" chef's menu and loved every plate. From the hand-painted wallpaper to the delicate beaded lamps, the aesthetic of this place is exquisite. The modern exterior is unsuspecting, but stepping into the restaurant is like stepping into a painting of Churchill's den - elegant, cozy with a slight scotch aroma. The service is five star (s/o to Oren!) and the food is divine. For sure don't miss tortellini in mushroom broth, or the hanger steak with potato cloud croquettes (my term). We had the most awesome company party at Wildflower in early January. The space is beautiful and inviting. The people are well-trained, personable, and just plain fun. The GM, Oren, is legit hospitality pro. There are lots of well-run restaurants in Denver, but when you dine with Oren and team you know you're experiencing something on a different level. We had passed apps to start the evening then sat down for 7-8 courses, maybe more, we lost count. The kitchen will really push your palate to new places. Very creative and beautifully presented plates. Clearly a lot of attention (and pride) is given to detail in the front and back of the house. We had a few folks who stayed the night at the hotel upstairs and had only nice things to say about it. Being located on a less-trafficked street, and having no signage, it's easy to miss this Highlands gem. I only noticed it because we were in the restaurant across the street one summer evening.
