This place is a new favorite of mine. I think as I go to more and more Tiki Bars, I really gravitate to the ones that have more unique drinks. I make drinks at home. I've had a traditional Mai Tai a million of times. Do you have Tiki Drinks that are going to make me want to drive 45 minutes to you? On top of that, is your food worth it? I'm happy to say that the answer to both of these questions are yes. I've gone here 3 times within the last two weeks and one item that is a constant order is the Orange Chicken. Nowadays I think people are used to the classic super sweet Panda Express style Orange Chicken that you'll also see occasionally at your local Chinese food restaurant. Wilfred's Orange Chicken definitely is sweet but its not as sweet as what I used to and I'm not mad about it. There's a lot of depth with the sauce. I don't know if they are just putting more soy sauce or dark soy sauce...Maybe it's Oyster/Fish sauce? Theres definitely some kind of extra Umami going on. An added plus is that it pair perfectly with the tanginess of the Pineapple Fried Rice. For drinks my favorites have been the Manta Ray and the Sanfroyosko. The reason being is just because these have been the more unique ones that I've been really enjoying. The Manta Ray is more tropical than one might think. However it's tropical with a bit of funk. The combination of the Gin, Falernum, and Sauv Blanc Syrup really add to the complexity. The other drink I really like is the Sanfroyosko. If you are a Mai Tai lover, this is the one to try. The substitution of the typical tums with the Shochu, Sake and Pisco add even more of a Wine and floral flavor profile to the drink. On top of that the Sesame Orgeat gives and even more nuttier flavor than normal. But despite all these flavors going on, it still kinda tastes like a Mai Tai. The service has always been amazing. Every person who has served us has served us with a smile. But even despite how friendly they are, there still remains this sense of professionalism with their interactions. They check in at the perfect times. They ask how we are enjoying everything and share their favorite things to drink/eat. With the amazing tiki decor and island music, you really do feel like you are on an Island anytime you eat here.
Stopped by this establishment with high hopes for the food and ambiance, the ambiance and service was exceptional but everything else not so great. Let me break down how everything faired The location for this spot is easily accessible and it does stick out from the other restaurants, so kudos points on location and presentation for the restaurant. So here is the sad part the food was not up to par. Here is everything we sampled Spam fries - breaded and deep fried, placed in a spam can for presentation, it was piping hot, slight crunch for anyone that has not sampled this before let us just say it is different good deep fried pickles - if I see this on the menu I try it wherever it is offered, the pickles did not have a snap, tasted old, dipping sauce on side was ok but the pickles sadly did not taste fresh natsubi - fancy musubi with spam just added furikake and drizzled with sauce on the smaller side but it was decent smash burger - made with two patties regular hamburger bun, not sure why but both patties were dry and overly burnt, less then a 3rd of the burger was finished by my son saying they messed this up bad, my daughter ordered same thing had less then a bite saying it was to burnt to eat wife had the teriyaki salmon plate, for the most part had a nice glaze and tasted good my kids who really don't like fish picked off my wifes plate both saying it was good we ordered several drinks to wash down all their dislikes lol for the kids non-alcoholic and for us alcoholic Manta Ray - several alcohols in this drink it was strong and good, definitely order this Ube-Bae-Baby - pineapple, coconut, ube this was made well I would order this again Banana Dreams - banana, grapefruit, lime, pineapple this was also flavorful I would order this again Pagan Ritual - i could taste the rum but not sure what else was added but I would also order this again of the 4 drinks the presentation of the manta ray and pagan ritual were really well done, put those on your instagram feed again for the food I would not eat here again but for the drinks, ambiance and liveliness of the place definitely a place you want to experience for yourself food ** pass on the food price $$$ service ***** top notch service, helpful staff, friendly staff ambiance ***** been to my share of tiki bars location for this one is spot on, it was open and very visible based on looks alone from other restaurants in the area
Food: was amazing! Everything we ordered was good. To start we ordered the Pupu Sampler Platter which had chicken wings, coconut shrimp, smoked salmon Rangoon and veggie pot stickers. Between the two of us we finished everything! It was that good! For our main entree we got Creamy Salmon Poke Bowl and Tofu Poke bowl and they were both delicious. Each one had different toppings. For drinks, we had Uma Ube and Ube Bae Baby. They were the same drink except the Uma Ube had alcohol. And let me tell you I will get that drink again. It was nice and strong. Service: the staff were very nice. We came as they were getting ready to open so there was no line. Once we ordered the food and drinks came right away. Ambiance: I love the ambiance. Love the decor. It was giving Island Vibes and feels. And the music was nice too. Oh by the way they have an awesome second floor/rooftop lounge. We came on a Friday afternoon but I'd come back again on a Friday night to hang with some friends for delicious island drinks.
Napa's lone tiki bar/restaurant. Obviously they have amazing tiki drinks you should try. For food both times I have got the different burgers they had and enjoyed the Smashburger the most. I also will have to say I loved the sweet potato fries and I usually don't like those.
I've been to Wilfred's Lounge a few times but this time I decided to try the food. Their drinks are amazing because they're not too sweet and they're made with premium ingredients. It's a tiki bar type of lounge which is always fun! Located in the heart of downtown Napa right along the river, the views are definitely worth it and no matter if you're on the rooftop, out on the porch or inside you'll have a great atmosphere. I almost just wanted to have drinks and appetizers but then our waitress recommended the Loco Moco which is only served on Sundays. It did not disappoint. 10/10. The quality of the meat, the mushroom gravy along with the runny egg on top of rice was perfect. We also tried the pineapple fried rice which surprised me because I'm not a big fan of fruit in rice but it totally worked. They do not skimp on flavor, each bite made me want more. Our drinks were the Watermelon Sugar (zero proof) and the Maximum Aloha. Both were delicious and paired well with our meal. Definitely check out Wilfred's Lounge when you're in Napa!
We recently took a trip to napa valley and after wine tasting in the morning, we decided to check out the river front. Wilfred's is located right on the river and has two stories. We went to the bar and ordered some cocktails then took them upstairs to the patio. Felt like being at a disneyland resort restaurant with how decorated the place is. Very hawaii/tiki lounge. My husband and I absolutely loved it and our drinks were strong but tasty. Sadly the place was dead! Maybe lunch was a weird time to be there? Hope this place gets the business it deserves!
Shanie! Amazing! If I could come here every week I would lol. We came on a Friday and it was busy but not super busy. I really enjoyed the ambiance. We were seated and our waitress, Shanie gave us some good recommendations. To start, I had a cocktail it was really good. My daughter I believe had the Uber Bae Baby, she reallly enjoyed it. We started with spam Mushbi 5 out of 5 my daughter could eat this over and over lol Vegetable potstickers 3 out of 5 (probably just my preference) Fried Plantains (not pictured) 3 out of 5 I probably wouldn't get these again. They are a little harder than I like and lacked salt. Entrees: Chicken Katsu (again not pictured) 5 out of 5. Definitely recommend Pineapple fried rice w/ chicken. 4 out of 5, really good just a few too many nuts. Overall my experience here was very positive, transported me back to Hawaii without taking a plane. The water views are beautiful on a sunny day. There is also a rooftop.
As a tiki bar fan, I couldn't pass up checking this spot out. The drinks were fun, there was live music, and the patio overlooking the river made for a great atmosphere. The drinks are a little pricey, but they're on par with other tiki bars I've visited. Overall, a great vibe, and I'll definitely be back!
Such a beautiful escape... with delicious food and amazing drinks. The restaurant is so beautiful and very immersive, especially the upstairs area. Lovely patio dining downstairs and balcony dining upstairs too! The bar area is absolutely stunning. Always well made and beautiful drinks!
Popped in for lunch on a Saturday not too long after they opened for the day and was able to grab two seats at the bar. The place was exactly what you'd expect for a tiki inspired restaurant and we loved the decor and atmosphere. The bartender was very friendly and helped me pick the perfect drink l. I ended up having two because they were so good. The food was also very good. We only had a few appetizers (wings and natsubi) but the flavor was spectacular and we were very happy with our choices. Will absolutely visit again to try the other menu options I debated ordering. Also worth noting that they sell tiki mugs! Very cool option to take a little bit of the experience home with you.
I love an island escape, no passport required. Napa has plenty of wine but, Wilfred's Lounge has the rum, tiki bar vibes, river views, tropical music and island inspired cocktails and cuisine. I dig the over the top tiki cocktails, whimsical decor, dog-friendly front patio and rooftop deck bar with river views. The Kalua Pork Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls, Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl and the Chicken Teriyaki Poke Bowl were winners. I liked that they include many different things IN the bowls but, I think the protein could have used more flavor. Downtown Napa, 967 First Street. Check them out for lunch, dinner or happy hour.
While most people go to Napa for wine (which I did as well) I'll also try to find a good tiki bar anytime I go somewhere new. Ended up getting two cocktails here which both of them tasted great and both of my buddy's were very good too. They offer indoor and outdoor seating with a roof top section overlooking the river two which was very nice. They do have a server running around upstairs to grab you drinks and food which was very conviennent and she was very friendly. Great tiki theme on the main level. Will be going back if I'm ever in Napa again.
Wilfred's is a unique break from wine in downtown Napa - their fun themed drinks and the ambiance and design of the building transport you to a tropical island.
Really cute place. Came here with my family to celebrate my sisters birthday and everyone enjoyed themselves and their cocktails. Pupus and side dishes were small but the entrees were large enjoy to share family-style. Definitely get the pineapple fried rice and the ribs. The ribs! Meat just melts off the bone and in your mouth. Everyone else got cocktails and nobody was disappointed. Everyone loved. My mocktail, Banana Dream, was delicious! Recommend. ALOOOOHA! Glad I found you on another Social Media and stopped by in the evening for good ONO PUPUS like their sampler plate and great Tropical drinks. Paradise just on the corner with a Top Lanai View ONLY to enjoy sunsets and drinks to cheers with friends don't forget your Aloha Shirt or Dress to be in the mood for Tropical FUN! Staff Friendly and Smiles all the way around , Bartender Shakes up them cool drinks ...Maximum ALOHA looked so good and my daughter in law LOVED IT! I ordered Uma Ube that had rum, cream of coconut, pineapple and Ube so delicious sips but too much ice and less drink. Nice Merch when you walk in , Take a pic with them TIKIS , Cool Mural around the back wall and patio heaters. Kid Friendly? we took our granddaughters and sat out in the patio no kids meals but they enjoyed the coconut shrimp Desserts they do have Malasadas served with chocolate sauce FUN PLACE! read more

Great atmosphere, cool decor and friendly staff. Tiki theme carried throughout the entire restaurant. There is street parking and a small parking lot in the back. The menu looks very cute, especially the illustrations of the cocktails. We would enjoy our drinks more if there was less ice. Sadly we were not impressed with the food. Taste and flavors were boring. Not quite the Hawaiian flavors we were looking forward to and food was a bit pricey for what you get. Liquidy polenta smear under the salmon was confusing. Extra charges for any sides (veggie or a starch). If they improve on the food quality and add more menu choices, we may return. read more

After a couple of days of wine sipping, it was time for our group to change it up with some cocktails. We checked out Wilfred Lounge's in downtown Napa and were treated to incredibly delicious tiki drinks and other Polynesian inspired treats. We tried the Uma Ube, that tasted devine, and shrimp, and pineapple rice. Oh- and there are Malasadas on the menu and they're delicious! This place will place the die-hard tiki fans and casual attendees alike! Check out the upstairs for a nice view of the nearby river. read more
If you like excellent island-inspired cocktails, this is the place in town! The drinks were creative, flavorful and colorful- pleasing on all levels! Rum representation from many parts of the world was impressive. Really enjoyed the Maximum Aloha with the strawberry infused Philippine rum and Uma Ube which reminded so much of a iced dessert from the Philippines. The Blue Hawaii and Mai Tai was just as refreshingly memorable. Order your drinks and sit wherever you want. There is an upstairs level where you can enjoy the view of the River and Downtown. Staff and Bartenders very friendly and informative about the discount on Wednesdays ( with a purchase of a specialty mug) and live music summer series. It's a great chillax' kind of place - sip your cocktail, close your eyes and let your imagination take you to your favorite island. It's that good. read more
My only complaint about Wilfred's is that they aren't open seven days per week! (They're closed Monday and Tuesday) If you're staying in Napa because you were dragged there by a spouse, significant other, work, etc. and you aren't a wine drinker, well this is your jam! Or, even if you are a wine drinker, but you've been in Napa a few days and you're a bit tired of the "fancy" $100 wine flights of small pours from otherwise cheap bottles, you have got to come here for a break from it all. I'm not a wine drinker, so I already don't like Napa, but my wife loves it so away we go for a few days. We discovered Wilfred's completely by chance, because of its excellent location along the river (more like a creek right now thanks to drought). After several stops at places my wife wanted to visit, we're walking along the river looking to find anything of interest for me and Wilfred's building-side mural was like a beacon calling me. We journeyed around the corner to the tiki bar and I could not have been happier with what I'd discovered. The menu of tiki drinks is large and diverse, with proper tiki ingredients. There are a variety of places to sit both inside and outside, including an upstairs balcony overlooking the river. It appeared there may be bar service upstairs at times, based on the covered furniture, but on the day we were there you had to order downstairs and bring your drinks up. The staff were all very nice and talkative. We ended up staying there a while and having a fantastic time. Such a great addition to the Napa area, one that has nothing to do with wine! read more

What I loved most: the service and the decore. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The decore was sweet with relaxing Hawaiian guitar music playing. My husband and I shared the chicken Katsu, the chicken skewers, and the malasadas. We each had a drink and the total came to $78. The katsu was amazing. The chicken skewers, my husband reports, were excellent (the katsu was so good the skewers paled in comparison). He also loved the macaroni salad. I came back another time with my brother and shared the coconut shrimp and the katsu again. Since it was early in the day, I had a moctail. I have to say, I think I liked that better than the actual cocktail I had last time. The drinks have a lot of ice, so I felt like I wasn't really getting my money's worth on the cocktail. The malasadas were yummy. Not Tex's malasadas (the big island) mind you, but very good. Always served warm and the fruit preserve with it is wonderful. read more
I loved the cocktails here! They have a fun tiki theme and the drinks are huge. Maximum Aloha was my favorite, it has the tastiest banana whipped cream on top of the drink that tasted like a dessert. For food we got the pupu platter to try a variety of small dishes. Our waiter was so nice, she even offered it to us at no charge because it took a while to come out. Overall definitely recommend this place for cocktails, great service, and warm outdoor seating. read more

Took my wife there for Mother's Day eve. It was a hot day in Napa, but the dining room was cool and breezy. My wife got the Pink Palace (good), I got the Hipa Hipa Hooray (strong), and my daughter got the virgin ube drink. Our favorite dish was the Kalua pork. 'Very flavorful. Our second favorite was the chicken katsu. The Spam fries were a hit too. The five spice ribs were meh. They just didn't wow us. The macaroni salad was OK, I thought. We are just used to them or mayonnaise-based one.. Parking is hit or miss, but we just park at the big structure down by sweetie pies; it's a nice stroll . We walked in a few minutes after opening we were greeted by a nice lady which I didn't get her name sat us down to where we were much comfortable Sitting since we have two strollers . Let's start with the drinks ! They had a drink for two that was $30 which we were excited to try . We ordered it and as soon as it came to our table the cup was extremely small making the drink only good for one . ( picture comparison shared ) Food was good but all the extra sides just cost too much My main reason why I gave this place a one star is because of the service . Our server Bella made us feel uncomfortable and not welcome . When food was brought into the table, the plates were tossed in front of us and she barely checked on us if we needed anything but she was more friendly to the other tables next to us. As an LGBTQ family we felt uncomfortable eating in this place . Be friendly and welcoming next time . read more
First of all, it can be hard to miss. It's somewhat in a weird tight corner location. But once you find it, it's like you transported into a whole new world.... You forget that you are in Napa. There is ample street or parking lot space if you get lucky. Service was very attentive and friendly to answer all questions. Indoor and outdoor seating, heating lamps for those who chose outdoor. I love the Hawaii Tiki Lounge theme, there is such much attention to detail. The pu pu platter was enough for three people. And the ribs platter was almost enough for two people! The mock cocktails are fun and their cocktails were pretty strong. Pineapple upside down cake was a pretty nice serving. Flavors were okay, just wish there wasn't so much sauce of the ribs. Loved the green beans. Definitely a fun place that's picture worthy. read more

Delicious drinks, and the food didn't disappoint. We ordered the impossible burger with sweet potato fries and ahi tuna salad. Both were incredibly delicious! The impossible party was very juicy and the salad was very flavorful with a good ratio of ingredients. Also, the Tiki drink are the best in Napa, hands down! Definitely will be back when I'm in town, don't miss out on Wilfred's! read more

We had a great time here!! We came for Saturday lunch specifically for the spam musubi, which my 6 year old gave it two thumbs up and inhaled most of her plate. My pineapple fried rice was very tasty, the cashews gave it a nice soft crunch. My son also loved his rice with spam. Hubby's steak and sweet potato fries was cleared out too. The food was sooo good! Service was quick and our server singing u bae bae baby still got us giggling this week. The place was beautiful overlooking the water. read more

This review is solely on the drinks and the upstairs patio. We came for drinks before dinner. I love these tropical style drinks and a tiki bar. Very tasty! Great views from the roof. It does get chilly as the sun sets. But they have a fire pit and heat lamps so it can still be comfortable. Staff were attentive and friendly. Great spot! read more

4 stars for the overall vibes and drinks. Wilfred's lounge is one of the most beautiful designed island/tiki themed restaurants. I Came during HH and I was pretty impressed with the plentiful drink options. We tried their mai tai, uma ube, and pagan ritual and the star of the drinks was the uma ube! We tried their smoked salmon Rangoon and wings, I'd prob skip the wings next time. It also happened to be restaurant week so we wanted to check that out. Came with coconut shrimp, fried rice, and a funnel cake. Overall this place IMO needs some work on the flavor of their dishes, but the presentation is beautiful and their drinks are all Instagram worthy. Highly recommended if you want to come in for some tropical cocktails! Our server was wonderful as well and all the staff were super friendly. I would rate this restaurant 3 stars for food but giving an extra star for drinks, vibe, and service. read more

First time at this place, it's amazing. I highly recommend making reservations because it gets full fast. We had an hour wait (due to our group of 7) but at the end they ended up making work for us in less than 20 minutes. The staff was friendly and very welcoming, they were also very helpful and had good knowledge of the food menu/drinks. The food was amazing especially the hamburger, very delicious, juicy and just amazing. Unique menu and it makes you feel like you're in Hawaii with the flavors, drinks and decorations as well. Every item is decorated with a natural flower from drinks to food to dessert. Great spot, even just for drinks. The drinks are unique and delicious. Amazing view too! read more

I LOVE finding unique tiki bars and the fact that this little spot is right in downtown Napa along the river checks all my boxes! Aesthetic - 9/10. Perfectly decorated inside downstairs, the staircase, and the little cove upstairs but the upstairs deck needs a little extra TLC and some music/service upgrades. Weirdly, there is no server to come up and care for you upstairs (obviously understand the world being understaffed) but it makes it less relaxing to have to climb the stairs and wait at the bar each time you want a drink. Also, needs some tropical music streaming to the deck! Regardless, the staff is otherwise very friendly and helpful! Drinks - 9/10 So many fun, unique spins on the classics and all so tasty! Missing 1 point because the glassware could use an upgrade and all beverages should be in the fancy tiki glasses (half the fun!). My drink order at my last visit: - Uma Ube - Delicious, purple, not too sweet, but OH SO CREAMY. - Hippah Hippah Hooray - Wilfred's take on a painkiller and they achieved their goal! Food - 9/10 Fun tropical foods but per the typical tiki scene - overpriced. Would recommend for drinks and snacks mores than a full meal. Everything I've tried has been quite tasty though! Long story short, while there are small nuances that aren't perfect about this tiki scene, one drink will have you drifting away to paradise and nothing else matters! Driving into town, my Tiki- focused friend noticed a taking bar. We parked and walked over. Such a cute Tiki bar and restaurant. Drinks and pupus at the bar. Next time we want to sit in the upstairs lounge. read more
Bruh. I don't even say Bruh. But Wilfred's makes me say Bruh. In a good way. One of the most amazing tiki bars I've been to, and trust me I've been to a ton. Over 10 on the west coast. You want strong tasty, unique drinks? Wilfred's got you. You want tasty appetizers? Wilfred's got you. You want friendly knowledgeable staff, a kick butt bartender who knows their rum? Wilfred's definitely got you. You want a laid back vibe with amazing decor, yeah Wilfred's got you. Seriously came into this place with low expectations. I mean tiki bar in wine country? Pshhhh. Whatever. But seriously this place has landed squarely in my top tiki bars. Had 4 cocktails. Manta Ray: this things hits like a truck but sneaks up on you like a B-2 stealth bomber. Super smooth. A bit fruity. Nice complex flavors. Uma Ube: unique flavor profile. You can taste the Ube without being overwhelmed. Sweet, like a dessert in a cup. sesame swizzle: amazing toasted sesame finish. A solid swizzle. Maximum Aloha: if you don't like this drink, I'd recommend seeing some sort of therapist or a neurologist because something happened and you should get professional help. Amazing banana and coconut whip, blended with some strawberry rum. This concoction is both unique and tasty. This place is a must hit in Downtown Napa. Whether you're a tikiphile orjust someone looking for unique tasty drinks, this place will blow some minds. Has plentiful outdoor seating, a great view and solid free parking options a 2 minute jaunt away. read more
What a cute place, sat in the back patio/bar like place. We had the view of the water and enjoyed people watching. We ordered the sampler and the katsu, the food and drinks we ordered were really good. Though the service was ok it took a while to get our second dish had to remind them of it. I wouldn't mind coming back here to try other drinks and dishes they serve. We had a good experience overall. read more

Are there branded tiki mugs sold with Wilfred's Lounge on them?
I own 3, the rum barrel, coconut, and Woody's. They all have "Wilfreds" on them. They have a variety of others which I believe say "Wilfreds" on the back. They should have them posted for sale on their website which for you to check out the pictures.
Can my little chihuahua join us?
I think it's possible since they have some outdoor dining! I suggest calling Wilfred's to find out for sure.
Is there a happy hour menu?
Aloha, we believe every hour is happy hour at Wilfred's Lounge, but Wilfred's Wednesday is a great day to visit and pick up a first edition hand-crafted mug, which may include special pricing on the cocktail. (So, Wednesday is your best bet!)
Is there outdoor heated seating? Are there any gluten free options?
Yes. They have outdoor seating on the first and second floor. The second floor does not have service at this time as they are looking to hire additional staff to support. Not sure of the gluten free options.
Is the Coconut Shrimp from frozen or made fresh?
