Took my wife there for Mother's Day eve. It was a hot day in Napa, but the dining room was cool and breezy. My wife got the Pink Palace (good), I got the Hipa Hipa Hooray (strong), and my daughter got the virgin ube drink. Our favorite dish was the Kalua pork. 'Very flavorful. Our second favorite was the chicken katsu. The Spam fries were a hit too. The five spice ribs were meh. They just didn't wow us. The macaroni salad was OK, I thought. We are just used to them or mayonnaise-based one.. Parking is hit or miss, but we just park at the big structure down by sweetie pies; it's a nice stroll . We walked in a few minutes after opening we were greeted by a nice lady which I didn't get her name sat us down to where we were much comfortable Sitting since we have two strollers . Let's start with the drinks ! They had a drink for two that was $30 which we were excited to try . We ordered it and as soon as it came to our table the cup was extremely small making the drink only good for one . ( picture comparison shared ) Food was good but all the extra sides just cost too much My main reason why I gave this place a one star is because of the service . Our server Bella made us feel uncomfortable and not welcome . When food was brought into the table, the plates were tossed in front of us and she barely checked on us if we needed anything but she was more friendly to the other tables next to us. If you like excellent island-inspired cocktails, this is the place in town! The drinks were creative, flavorful and colorful- pleasing on all levels! Rum representation from many parts of the world was impressive. Really enjoyed the Maximum Aloha with the strawberry infused Philippine rum and Uma Ube which reminded so much of a iced dessert from the Philippines. The Blue Hawaii and Mai Tai was just as refreshingly memorable. Order your drinks and sit wherever you want. There is an upstairs level where you can enjoy the view of the River and Downtown. Staff and Bartenders very friendly and informative about the discount on Wednesdays ( with a purchase of a specialty mug) and live music summer series. My only complaint about Wilfred's is that they aren't open seven days per week! (They're closed Monday and Tuesday) If you're staying in Napa because you were dragged there by a spouse, significant other, work, etc. and you aren't a wine drinker, well this is your jam! Or, even if you are a wine drinker, but you've been in Napa a few days and you're a bit tired of the "fancy" $100 wine flights of small pours from otherwise cheap bottles, you have got to come here for a break from it all. I'm not a wine drinker, so I already don't like Napa, but my wife loves it so away we go for a few days. We discovered Wilfred's completely by chance, because of its excellent location along the river (more like a creek right now thanks to drought). After several stops at places my wife wanted to visit, we're walking along the river looking to find anything of interest for me and Wilfred's building-side mural was like a beacon calling me. We journeyed around the corner to the tiki bar and I could not have been happier with what I'd discovered. The menu of tiki drinks is large and diverse, with proper tiki ingredients. There are a variety of places to sit both inside and outside, including an upstairs balcony overlooking the river. It appeared there may be bar service upstairs at times, based on the covered furniture, but on the day we were there you had to order downstairs and bring your drinks up. The staff were all very nice and talkative. We ended up staying there a while and having a fantastic time. Such a great addition to the Napa area, one that has nothing to do with wine! read more

First of all, it can be hard to miss. It's somewhat in a weird tight corner location. But once you find it, it's like you transported into a whole new world.... You forget that you are in Napa. There is ample street or parking lot space if you get lucky. Service was very attentive and friendly to answer all questions. Indoor and outdoor seating, heating lamps for those who chose outdoor. I love the Hawaii Tiki Lounge theme, there is such much attention to detail. The pu pu platter was enough for three people. And the ribs platter was almost enough for two people! The mock cocktails are fun and their cocktails were pretty strong. Pineapple upside down cake was a pretty nice serving. Flavors were okay, just wish there wasn't so much sauce of the ribs. What I loved most: the service and the decore. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The decore was sweet with relaxing Hawaiian guitar music playing. My husband and I shared the chicken Katsu, the chicken skewers, and the malasadas. We each had a drink and the total came to $78. The katsu was amazing. The chicken skewers, my husband reports, were excellent (the katsu was so good the skewers paled in comparison). He also loved the macaroni salad. I came back another time with my brother and shared the coconut shrimp and the katsu again. Since it was early in the day, I had a moctail. I have to say, I think I liked that better than the actual cocktail I had last time. The drinks have a lot of ice, so I felt like I wasn't really getting my money's worth on the cocktail. We had a great time here!! We came for Saturday lunch specifically for the spam musubi, which my 6 year old gave it two thumbs up and inhaled most of her plate. This place has potential, but they need to overhaul the kitchen. The food concepts are good, but the execution is pretty sad. At some point, people get frustrated with mediocre food and will not come back. The drinks were ok, but a key ingredient in a Mai Tai is grenadine, and there was none in the one we had. Their version of planters punch was fine. The servers were friendly, but you could tell how some were better than others as one would mention specials and describe things in detail while others wouldn't. I Came during HH and I was pretty impressed with the plentiful drink options. We tried their mai tai, uma ube, and pagan ritual and the star of the drinks was the uma ube! We tried their smoked salmon Rangoon and wings, I'd prob skip the wings next time. It also happened to be restaurant week so we wanted to check that out. Came with coconut shrimp, fried rice, and a funnel cake. Overall this place IMO needs some work on the flavor of their dishes, but the presentation is beautiful and their drinks are all Instagram worthy. Highly recommended if you want to come in for some tropical cocktails! Our server was wonderful as well and all the staff were super friendly. Everyone always enjoys the drink selection--tropical cocktails and mocktails, good wines by the glass (or bottle), and some craft beers on tap--but it's the overall vibe and decor that immediately get the party started. First time at this place, it's amazing. I highly recommend making reservations because it gets full fast. We had an hour wait (due to our group of 7) but at the end they ended up making work for us in less than 20 minutes. The staff was friendly and very welcoming, they were also very helpful and had good knowledge of the food menu/drinks. The food was amazing especially the hamburger, very delicious, juicy and just amazing. Unique menu and it makes you feel like you're in Hawaii with the flavors, drinks and decorations as well. Whatever. But seriously this place has landed squarely in my top tiki bars. Had 4 cocktails. Manta Ray: this things hits like a truck but sneaks up on you like a B-2 stealth bomber. Super smooth. A bit fruity. Nice complex flavors. Uma Ube: unique flavor profile. You can taste the Ube without being overwhelmed. Sweet, like a dessert in a cup. sesame swizzle: amazing toasted sesame finish. A solid swizzle. Maximum Aloha: if you don't like this drink, I'd recommend seeing some sort of therapist or a neurologist because something happened and you should get professional help. Amazing banana and coconut whip, blended with some strawberry rum. This concoction is both unique and tasty. This place is a must hit in Downtown Napa. Whether you're a tikiphile orjust someone looking for unique tasty drinks, this place will blow some minds. The service is pretty good and there is lots of space all around the restaurant. The bar area is my favorite spot, lined with your tiki carvings and wood for that "look". I was excited to try this place out. My partner and I popped in on a beautiful Napa afternoon. The restaurant/bar is beautiful, they've done a really nice job with both the interior and the outside patio. I ordered a scorpion bowl, and my partner ordered a Mai Tai, minus the orgeat, as he is very sensitive to the insulin effects of sugar. Bizarrely, the staff was very adamant that they do not alter the cocktail recipes in any way, that that is their policy. Um, what if someone is allergic to an ingredient? They ultimately did make the drink without the orgeat, after a lot of back and forth. In the service industry, in which I used to work, if you want repeat business, you should accommodate reasonable customer requests as best as possible, instead of stubbornly sticking to inflexible policies that don't make much sense. After the insanity of the last three years especially, my patience for nonsensical 'rules' is thin. The drinks were good, however, I enjoyed my scorpion bowl, and my partner enjoyed his orgeat-free mai tai. I was also pleased to see that their wine list is comprised of all local selections; it's always been baffling to me that so many places in the area sell wine imported from across the globe, when we have by far one of the world's best wine-growing regions right in our backyard. And supporting the local economy is important. I look forward to another visit to Wilfred's, I just hope they become more accommodating with the 'no modifications' policy. read more

I LOVE finding unique tiki bars and the fact that this little spot is right in downtown Napa along the river checks all my boxes! Aesthetic - 9/10. Perfectly decorated inside downstairs, the staircase, and the little cove upstairs but the upstairs deck needs a little extra TLC and some music/service upgrades. Weirdly, there is no server to come up and care for you upstairs (obviously understand the world being understaffed) but it makes it less relaxing to have to climb the stairs and wait at the bar each time you want a drink. Also, needs some tropical music streaming to the deck! Regardless, the staff is otherwise very friendly and helpful! Drinks - 9/10 So many fun, unique spins on the classics and all so tasty! Missing 1 point because the glassware could use an upgrade and all beverages should be in the fancy tiki glasses (half the fun!). My drink order at my last visit: - Uma Ube - Delicious, purple, not too sweet, but OH SO CREAMY. - Hippah Hippah Hooray - Wilfred's take on a painkiller and they achieved their goal! Food - 9/10 Fun tropical foods but per the typical tiki scene - overpriced. Would recommend for drinks and snacks mores than a full meal. Everything I've tried has been quite tasty though! We finally were in town without other obligations and got to Wilfreds. The music selection is upbeat. I know it's a tiki bar and all, but I get tired of listening to tiki music all the time like some tikis do. The wine list made up of Napa wines. Like why wouldn't it be, we are in Napa. But, some establishments still want to serve wine from Sri Lanka or someplace. No idea why. So huge props keeping it local. As for other libations they have an excellent selection of rums, tequilas, mezcals, and just about anything you want. Also they do have a more extensive food menu than most tiki bars we have been to. Upstairs deck overlooking the Napa River as well as ground level seating looking over the river. Nice street level patio and indoor dining area. The bar is nice but only seats 8 or so directly at the bar with 4 seats across from it. A lot of people standing so it gets a little crowded. My partner had a Scorpion bowl and I had my modified Mai Tai. We also had a split of the Schramsburg Blanc de Blanc. The server wanted to make sure I knew that was $45. I had to ask my partner if I looked po. So the one weird thing is when ordering drinks. There are no modifications. So you have to figure out another way. So to get around that for example, when ordering a Trader Vic's 1944 Mai Tai without orgeat, instead, order a rum, lime juice, and a touch of Curacao. Problem solved. Strange policy. I have never seen this before. I mean nothing spectacular here but we will still come back and give it a try again and probably check out the food more. read more

We ordered the sampler and the katsu, the food and drinks we ordered were really good. Though the service was ok it took a while to get our second dish had to remind them of it. Fun tiki bar located in Downtown Napa! My family and I were walking downtown one afternoon and noticed Wilfred's, I love tiki bars so we made a point to return that evening. I recommend making reservations in order to get a good table. Reservations were full when we walked in that afternoon, they advised us to call before coming in that evening and we did. They said there was a slim chance we'd get a table but luckily they were able to squeeze us in. In addition to their bar, dining room, and outdoor patio seating, they do have a rooftop area that's open seating, however there's no service up there so you have to grab your drinks at the bar downstairs first. We shared a few appetizers for the table including the Pupu Sampler Platter $32 which comes with 3 Huli Huli chicken skewers, coconut shrimp, salmon candy rangoons and 2 spam sliders. We also got an additional order of the spam sliders and a pineapple upside down cake for dessert. For my drink I got a Blue Hawaii $13 Rum, Pineapple, Lemon, Blue Curaçao. I honestly didn't really like my drink. I forgot there's a different between Blue Hawaii and Blue Hawaiian and I thinking it was the latter which I prefer since it has coconut cream. I ended up trading drinks with my brother-in-law since he got a Mai Tai which tasted better. Overall, we had a fun time though, next time we'll know to plan ahead. The day didn't start as a pub crawl, but turned out to be. We started at Wilfred's lounge, cool Tiki bar, lots of seating. Great location right along the river,with river views of wildlife, paddle boarding, Venetian style Gondola boats. First St, near Main St downtown Napa.(Where everything is happening!) We visited Sunday afternoon, it was fully packed down stairs,but hardly anyone upstairs where the really great views are! We found out why. Seating but no service upstairs. You order at the bar. We waited a while in line at the Bar 10 15 minutes. They were busy. We love the tiki decor! Fun vibe! Off we go to the next pub! read more
