One of my favorite restaurants right now. We stopped by the last two times we were in Napa and I still cannot stop thinking about the Chirashi Bowl! The fish tastes so fresh and their ikura is not overly salty and smaller than other ikuras i've had. The best part though i think is the seasoned rice. The rice is so flavorful yet doesn't take away from the fish. You don't need to add additional soy sauce or wasabi either. The caviar tasting is pretty cool. Feels like a good deal since you get to taste 6 different caviars. Another highlight is the oysters. I was a bit hesitant about ordering the oysters at $6ea but definitely don't skip on it. They use ichiban ousters from skagit bay and it was so creamy and light tasting. The yuzu mignonette went perfectly with it as well. One thing they do really well are their vegetables. Everything was so flavorful. I can just keep going on about how wonderful everything here is. The service is fast, we were just finishing up the bellinis from the caviar tasting and a new set of bellinis arrived at my table without having to ask for it. Cocktails are $10 Caviar bumps are $15 I liked my sake sour drink that I bought two The chirashi bowl was good and has a lot of fish The oyster have this unique and tasty yuzu hogwash that I never had before. Incredible spot to come after a wine tasting. This used to be a champagne and caviar lounge. The menu leans Japanese, and everything we ordered was SO good. We went with a group of 5, and ordered just the right amount of food (essentially everything on the menu haha). You really can't go wrong dining at a Thomas Keller restaurant, and this one is no exception. About a year and a half ago, it expanded from focusing solely on champagne and caviar to offering a full menu -- and it truly shines. The cocktails and every dish we tried were outstanding. We had reservations at another restaurant in Yountville that was running an hour behind. We walked down the road to find anything. RO was also packed but they offered us seating outside and extended full dinner service to us. We've sat both inside and outside before, and both provide different vibes so it depends on what mood you're going for. Inside is more intimate and romantic whereas outside is more relaxed. If you go on the weekend and for dinner, they also have a live jazz band! Do check their website for the schedule. It's Yountville, and if you're coming here, prepare to spend some big bucks. We made reservations ahead for the outdoor lounge and were seated around a cozy low table with a wide and plush lounge sofa and two comfortable side chairs. Our server was very helpful with explaining the menu items and check on us often. We started with the chirashi bowl and the flat iron(steak) bowls. They were so good we ordered more. We also added the black truffle sando , uni toasts, and scallops with kombu. Everything was delicious and beautifully plated, but be warned, the tab can add up fast! The happy hour menu can look like a bargain, but because the portions were small, we ended up ordering more, so perhaps it would have been better to just order the full meal option. We had an early dinner at RO Restaurant & Lounge at 5:30 pm with our two young kids. We were walk-in and the host was really nice, even letting us store the kids' bikes in the back. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The Bouchon Bakery Milk Bread was soft and buttery, and the kids loved it. The Charcoal-Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak was delicious and cooked medium rare, but we should have asked for medium well because it was a bit more red than we like in the middle. The Hokkaido Scallop Cured in Kombu was tasty but very small, like most of the dishes. The Grilled Black Cod with Matsutake Mushroom and Ginger Scallion Rice Porridge was good, but the flavors were mild and familiar, similar to other Japanese restaurants in the Bay Area, nothing surprising. The best thing we tried was the Hokkaido Uni Toast with Ossetra Caviar. For dessert, the Apple Chouquette and RO Dreams of Citrus Shaved Ice were both big hits with the kids. I can't speak to the food, but the service and cocktails were amazing! My friend and I came here on a Sunday evening for happy hour. The hostess collected our coats so we didn't have to carry them, then led us to sit in the comfortable lounge area. Both of our cocktails were so good and we loved that we also got complimentary homemade Chex mix to snack on. They have a large patio area with nice seating however at 100 degrees it's not fun to sit outside. I did and it was amazing. We really liked it. 25 bucks a piece. The place is really high end. The bartender was great. Very animated and such a salesman. We loved him. When we were given our bill, we were also presented with 2 Macaroons with a sparkler... nice touch. Two things to take note of here, if you go when there is a live band, it's loud, to the point I couldn't have conversation with my friend without yelling, nor could I hear Katlyn. Plus if it is a factor for you, there is an extra cover charge for the nights a live band is there. In addition, it is quite pricey, so expect to pay $$$$ for the experience. I've wanted to dine here for a while and finally got the chance while in town this summer. We specifically made our reservation during happy hour but when we arrived we were told they just changed the happy hour hours so we missed it. That was a huge disappointment because there were multiple items that i wanted to try on that menu. Also, some of the items on their dinner menu weren't even available when i tried to order them? Everything sounded so delicious but sadly most of it ended up pretty underwhelming. The uni toast should have had more uni for how thick the bread was, the charred cabbage was forgettable, and the toro roll was nothing to write home about. My favorite items ended up being the pork katsu sando, the caviar spread, and the strawberry chouquette dessert. I had been excited to try the ice cream topped with caviar but it didn't end up being as flavorful as i expected. The service was pretty good but it was obvious they were in-between menus. Honestly most items were way overpriced, i'm fine with paying more for great food but this just wasn't worth it. If i came back i would definitely stick to just their caviar spread and a few drinks. We were seated on the outside which was covered which provided shade. The staff was very attentive especially our server, John. One of Thomas Keller's restaurants that's in downtown Yountville (we also went to Ad Hoc, Bouchon Bistro, and Bouchon Bakery for reference), Regiis Ova was the right place for us considering we had been doing wine tasting and having heavy meals for most of our stay, and needed something a tad lighter. Doing a caviar flight with a bottle of sparkling wine was the right choice They have a great bar area and offer a nice variety of different items for easy bites to complement the sparkling wine. Their caviar was fantastic. Our server made sure we had everything we needed and was incredibly accommodating. We had a bottle of Blanc de Blanc (but I forgot the winery's name), which was very refreshing and complemented the caviar flight we had such as the Golden Ossetra, the Ossetra, the Siberian, and the Royal varieties. If you're a caviar and champagne lover, RO Restaurant and Lounge in Yountville is nothing short of paradise. To be fair, it's hard to compete with the egg sandwiches from 7-Eleven, Lawson, or Family Mart in Japan, which set the gold standard for me. As for the pork katsu, it was a bit dry, and the bread wasn't as soft as I'd hoped. The real highlight of the evening was the Hokkaido uni toast topped with caviar. This dish was pure bliss--the crispy, buttery milk bread paired perfectly with the silky smooth uni and the saltiness of the caviar. It was the epitome of indulgence and worth every penny. We finished the meal with the ribeye bowl, which was delicious but didn't stand out compared to the rest of the menu. Now for the dessert portion: I ordered the ice cream topped with koji caramel and caviar. It was a bold and unique combination, and the sweet-salty balance worked beautifully. The koji caramel added a nutty richness that complemented the creamy ice cream, while the caviar gave it a salty, luxurious edge. It was a delightful way to end the meal.
