We made a same day reservation, and arrived at Napa at around 8pm. The outdoor patio with fireplace and indoor dining room decorated with pirates, carved wood, lovely mugs, with a theme of a welcoming Tiki Bar. Maximum Aloha $17 I got this cute Hawaiian cocktail with strawberry rum, lemon, cinnamon, hibiscus, prickly pear. On top of that is coconut banana cream, which gives a touch of sweetness. Blue Hawaii $15 We also got this refreshing blue hawaii cocktail with white rum, pineapple and lemon. Huli Huli Chicken Wings $18 For the food, we ordered the chicken wings in the appetizer section. Pineapple Fried Rice $23 And also the pineapple fried rice presented in 1/4 of a pineapple. Manta Ray $23 The Manta Ray cocktail was quite special. They had a lovely rooftop spot overlooking the water. It's a prime location when the weather is nice out, you can watch all the water sports go down the river. When we arrived there was no hostess in sight which was a little uncomfortable. We stepped in and ordered at the bar and seated ourselves, which seemed to be what they wanted us to do. I've been here 4 times and now service is always 10/10. On this most recent visit, my friend and I visited on Wilfred Wednesday. If you have a souvenir mug and bring it in, then your drinks are half off! We purchased our mug for the first time and because it of this, our first drink was free. Our server gave us great suggestions on drinks and I decided to get one on the menu that I hadn't tried. For food, we shared the pupu platter and 'ono pie. Everything we ate was great! If I had to critique anything, I liked the salmon rangoons, but wished they were crab. And the ice cream had hardened caramel drizzle over the top and it became tacky and unable to cut through. It would've been better served with the caramel mixed into the ice cream, but I understand the drizzle for aesthetic purposes. Located in the heart of downtown Napa, this is a nice spot for after you hit up the wineries. Service was OK, nothing out of this world. Their decadent, beautiful drinks are a fun must. Great food and drinks, however I told the bartender I was having one drink as I was the driver of the group, ordered a lava flow, and they then ($30 later) proceeded to make me a BOAT meant for two. I didn't look at the drink menu to see the only lava flow in the book was a boat for two, but I figured after telling him I was having one due to driving he would've warned me or made me a single......I thought when it arrived it might've been a regular drink as there's no way to tell how shallow the boat is just by looking at it. Oh my goodness this place was fantastic! My husband and I LOVE Tiki bars. There's something about an escape that is just so desirable in the dead of winter so we decided to run over to Wilfred's to getaway for an evening. First off this place is SO cute! The jade tiles, mug collection, wood carved walls, rotating portholes and lighting give this place a special exotic feel. The music was fun and on theme and really added to the vibe. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Super attentive and answered all of my husband's questions with ease and knowledge. The food and drinks were also wonderful! We ordered a Waikiki Wipeout and a Laka's Lava Flow to share with our friends and then also tried the Mai Tai and O.G. Grog all of which were flavorful and delicious! We also shared a Pupu Sampler Platter, Firecracker Green Beans, Macaroni Salad and rice. The smoked salmon Rangoons were AMAZING! So yummy and innovative. After reading some of the Yelp comments, the first thing I have to address is the ice contents. They are ridiculous. Crushed ice is a tiki staple, and, believe it out not, the more you have, the less watery your drink is. It keeps it cold. I don't know where people got this information, but as a bar tender, I want to slap anyone who complains about ice in a super high proof cocktail. It's an uneducated and ignorant opinion. If you know anything about tiki, you know their drinks are legit. Ok, that out of the way, the food we ordered was delightful. We got the pupu player, the mac salad, the shame rice, and the green beans. All of it was delicious. As everyone said, the decor was on point. We figured we would try Wilfred's on a recent trip to Napa but that was a mistake. We wanted a break from the wine so we ordered some cocktails which were all very mid. The food definitely left something to be desired. My chicken Katsu was 3/5 stars, a good portion for the price. GO FOR WILFREDS WEDNESDAYS!! If you don't know about Wilfred's Wednesdays, their promotion is if you purchase any of their house mugs on Wednesday, your first drink is free (obviously go with Batten Down The Hatches as its their most expensive drink). After that, every cocktail is half priced as long as you bring your mug back! The only cocktail that is not included is the Wilfred's Flora because they say that cocktail has no ice so its not included. And obviously bowls because.... they're bowls. For the mug collectors: They are open edition Tiki Farm mugs at $30-$50. We have had just about every cocktail they make thanks to Wilfred's Wednesdays. Some are very strong, some are fairly bitter, and a couple are sweet. Probably depends on the bartender because our most recent visit, every cocktail was very flavorful and balanced regardless of how strong the cocktail is (Notably Batten Down The Hatches). We also have had the Pupu Sampler Platter which tasted good but is fairly pricey for what you get. We have also had the Spam Sliders which, at $16 for three small sliders, is pretty expensive. Tiki Bar in downtown Napa... yes please! If you are looking for a nice Tiki Bar this is the place to stop at! It's right along the river and has some good views from the patio seating and outside deck.   The drinks and food are all island inspired. The drinks are made with fresh juices that they press daily as well as their own house syrups. I recommend trying the Blue Hawaii that has rum, pineapple, lemon, and blue curaçao. The food menu includes pupus small bites and range from wings to coconut shrimp, sliders, bowls and spam fries. The coconut shrimp is very yummy! For entrees this ranges from salads to fried rice to burgers, sandwiches and meat and seafood options. I've had the fried rice, which comes in a pineapple and it was good.   Happy Hour happens from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. The menu includes a couple pupus options and cocktails, wine and beer. The cocktails are about half the price of their normal menu, which is a great deal. Tip: ask if the outdoor deck is open when you check in at the host stand. This is such a nice spot to enjoy a tiki drink and bite to eat on a lovely summer evening. Fun tiki bar located in Downtown Napa! My family and I were walking downtown one afternoon and noticed Wilfred's, I love tiki bars so we made a point to return that evening. I recommend making reservations in order to get a good table. Reservations were full when we walked in that afternoon, they advised us to call before coming in that evening and we did. They said there was a slim chance we'd get a table but luckily they were able to squeeze us in. In addition to their bar, dining room, and outdoor patio seating, they do have a rooftop area that's open seating, however there's no service up there so you have to grab your drinks at the bar downstairs first. We shared a few appetizers for the table including the Pupu Sampler Platter $32 which comes with 3 Huli Huli chicken skewers, coconut shrimp, salmon candy rangoons and 2 spam sliders. We also got an additional order of the spam sliders and a pineapple upside down cake for dessert. For my drink I got a Blue Hawaii $13 Rum, Pineapple, Lemon, Blue Curaçao. I honestly didn't really like my drink. I forgot there's a different between Blue Hawaii and Blue Hawaiian and I thinking it was the latter which I prefer since it has coconut cream. I ended up trading drinks with my brother-in-law since he got a Mai Tai which tasted better. Overall, we had a fun time though, next time we'll know to plan ahead. Visited a few weeks ago with my co workers and had a pleasant experience. The location is lovely and the decor inside is amazing! We sat outside and our server was a delight. We shared the Waikiki Wipeout to start and while it was a very nice flame delivery it wasn't very good. We all treated it as a shot in every sip since it was just extremely strong. Our individual drinks were also pretty disappointing due to lack of flavors and just straight alcohol. At a dive bar, I expect strong drinks to get you hammered but at a restaurant it was just not a good fit in my opinion. The food was good but honestly not as much flavor as other Hawaiian dishes from elsewhere. My friend & I went in yesterday for a quick bite after wine tasting all morning. I ordered the Truffalo Chicken sandwich & subbed macaroni salad instead of the sweet potato fires. Big mistake because the macaroni salad is not the authentic Hawaiian macaroni salad Im used to eating while in Hawaii. It was actually quite gross; It had red peppers, green peppers carrots & was sweet. Just not good at all. Then the sandwich...it was described as chicken katsu but the huge, thick chicken breast, sliced in half was nothing katsu at all. It was literally just a crispy chicken sandwich overly slathered in buffalo sauce and some other white sauce. Didn't even finish it. It fell apart because all the sauce made it so slippery. Couldn't taste the chicken because the sauce was too overpowering. I ate some of my friends sweet potato fries and those were good. This is the second bad experience here. We were intrigued when we heard there was a tiki bar in downtown napa so our tiki tour started early. They are connected to the Flora Springs Winery, several of the cocktails use the flora springs wine as part of their ingredients (napa sour has a wine float). We were pleasantly surprised by the decor, ambiance, and cocktails. We went twice during our stay, it was a fun experience. We tried nearly every cocktail on the menu and there is a wide range of options - some were traditional tiki, others were riffs, some were original recipes. The drinks run the gamut from super sweet to super boozy but most were pretty balanced. Some of our favorites included the Waikiki Wipeout and the Hipa Hipa Hooray! We also enjoyed the spam sliders and snacks on the menu. We came specifically to have tiki drinks so we didn't have a full meal. The bartenders were approachable and made it an enjoyable time! For those who want a peaceful tiki experience I'd recommend going earlier in the day because the rowdy and drunk patrons swarm in later in the evening (usually coming from other events or tastings). read more

Enter this delightful place, serving carefully poured, craft tiki drinks and assorted poly-Asian bar food. The drinks can take a while, but craft often does. But they don't disappoint from a taste and visual point of view (ladies, start your Instagrams). Some interesting interior furnishings and digital animations make a stroll around the bar pretty fun. In addition, the bar overlooks the Napa River. Granted, not the most picturesque river in the country. But still, a very nice view if you grab some stools outside. One time just for drinks and another for actual dine in experience. The drinks are strong and well balanced in taste. Some drinks have extra elements like smoked cinnamon sticks or a mini spam musubi. I heard some people complain how the drinks can take a while to order on a busy night. When I came in the middle of the week it wasn't bad. On to the dining experience...service itself was great minus the fact that the pineapple fried rice came out AFTER our Malasadas. We think our fried rice was brought to the wrong table as the table next to us ordered one, but didn't get the protein they added. Really cute place. Came here with my family to celebrate my sisters birthday and everyone enjoyed themselves and their cocktails. Pupus and side dishes were small but the entrees were large enjoy to share family-style. Definitely get the pineapple fried rice and the ribs. The ribs!
