A little chilly inside. I highly recommend starting with the pupu platter and staying for a fun relaxing and festive dinner. The décor is very fitting. It takes you out of Napa and into a tropical get away. The wait staff was very attentive and water was refilled regularly. Time quickly passes when you have a good time. I wish I could love this place. The indoor decor was great from what we could see. When we checked in at 2:30 p.m., the hostess told us inside was full with reservations, but we could sit outside. It was 89° outside and miserable. The worst part is that there were only a couple of people inside. When we were leaving, another waitress told us the bar is open seating, and we could have sat inside at the bar. It was closer to closing, and a rainy night, but I had been wanting to try here. What better than the tiki bar on a rainy night to brighten things up.. it was not what I expected. Super cute tiki bar, my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary trip and didn't want to go to a fancy dinner. We just wanted to have some good food and drinks. The atmosphere is so fun here, the drinks are a work of art, l we came at sunset and had drinks watching the sun set over the river. The hostess at the front was very sweet, bar was pretty busy so they were in hustle mode which is completely understandable. They take their time in each drink so we were happy to wait. My husband had the pineapple fried rice which he inhaled he loved so much and I had the chicken katsu. I asked for a side of teriyaki sauce and used that as well, it was delish! As Napa locals we were excited to try this new spot downtown. I wanted to try their food but hostess said they don't have food/drink service on the upstairs patio. The bartender was not friendly and we didn't feel welcome. We ordered the scorpion bowl $35 as we thought it would be fun to share. Our drink was served in a small round glass sized for one cocktail!! Scorpion bowls are a drink meant to be shared with two or more people and this drink was a joke for $35 plus tax and tip! We laughed as we carried our small drink to the top patio and my husband said "never again"! I've never seen anywhere sell a scorpion "bowl" (a drink for two or more people) in a regular sized cocktail glass for one person! Beware!! This place may catch some tourists but Napa locals don't like being scammed!! read more

I LOVE WILFRED'S! I live locally and feel very fortunate to have a Tiki Bar to patron regularly. The drinks are unapparelled in presentation, creativity, deliciousness, and... most importantly... they are heavy on the spirits! Whether its date night, family night, or "I had a crappy day" night, Wilfred's always makes me feel like I'm on vacation. The design of the restaurant is immersive and I can feel stress and worry drift away as soon as I walk through the door. Thankfully I've been here before and this was not my first experience with the restaurant, given that it was not the best. First & foremost, KUDOS to Debra for helping me make a much-needed adjustment to my reservation the day prior. After that, the experience went downhill. Our server took quite a while to take any sort of order from our table (even drinks!). When she finally took our appetizer order, she completely disappeared for quite some time. Upon finally returning, she seemed confused and again wandered away. When I finally got up from the table to go in search of her her (I wanted to tell her it was my father's birthday, as well as inquire about the holdup with our appetizer), she admitted she never input our order. She also stated that she would take care of it and make it up to the table. When she finally returned, she asked if we liked shrimp. I told her yes, but explained that my father dislikes coconut (because I know the menu only has coconut shrimp). She looked puzzled and again disappeared. Tables seated long after us were finishing by the time we finally got our entrees. Unfortunately, my father's ribs were subpar - at best - and most of his food was left on his plate. She did not bother to ask if there was something wrong (most people would, upon seeing a full plate of uneaten food) and by this time I was completely irritated and done dealing with her. When she brought the bill, she had not "taken care of" or "made up for" anything. Overall, subpar food for one of the three people in my party, exceedingly poor service, and no amends whatsoever. When we left, I suggested taking my father to Pasta Prego or someplace else so that he could actually have a meal for his milestone birthday; however, at this point, he was simply ready to get home. ‍ read more

I will start off by saying that the staff here provides excellent, friendly service. I have been to Wilfred's twice and am mostly disappointed by the drinks. The mai tai sounded legit on the menu, but it tasted like they use house made orgeat, which I have found can sometimes lead to disappointing results. There really was a lack of any interesting flavors, and I have had mai tais from all of the best known tiki cocktail temples. Unlike one reviewer, who mistakenly thinks pineapple is the garnish for a traditional mai tai, it is supposed to be garnished with mint, unless you are making an island mai tai, which actually has pineapple juice in it. It was strange that both times I went, the mint was kinda old and dried out looking. The other cocktails I tried were also just okay. I did get the burger on one visit and it was juicy and delicious. I highly recommend that dish, though the macaroni in the mac salad needed longer cooking time. Why do so many Mainland places cook their macaroni al dente? Blech. I will most likely return, since I have friends who will probably want to meet there in the future, but I will be ordering a beer and the burger. read more

Not sure why this place doesn't have much higher reviews. It's not a traditional Hawaiian joint but there are a ton of those. This is not really a fusion but more of an elevated Hawaiian menu. The pineapple fried rice with kalua (that's roasted pig for those that aren't familiar) add an egg and is like nothing you've had before. The ambience is a blend of old school Hawaiian joints like Dukes but with a Disneyland Tikki room flair. Bigggg drinks that are truly original. Upstairs there is an outside deck for your needed Instagram pics. Great fun place. A little pricey but hey it's downtown Napa you're paying for the experience as well. read more

Since we are locals, we had seen this place a few times during its construction/transformation, and since we're fans of Tiki Lounges we decided to finally give it a try for my birthday celebration. Made a reservation for 5:00, drove down from St. Helena (while my father-in-law drove up from Oakland)... Only to be met and told they are canceling all reservations due to a plumbing issue. (But it was also very confusing, because people were sitting there, dining, and the sign out front said "closed for private event.") Well, we tried to give you a shot and potentially be returning local customers, but we won't be trying again. Sounds like we dodged a bullet anyway, because when I told my coworker that was my birthday plan, she winced and warned me that it was pretty bad (mediocre food and bad, watered-down drinks. And a good drink is pretty much the entire reason people go to a tiki bar!) This seems to align with the negative reviews I am reading online. To the owners of Wilfred's: it looks like you really have some things to fix, or you're not going to last long. read more

This place is really cute and right next to Napa river. We stopped by for a cocktail and to enjoy the view which is fantastic. We did not order any food. Since this is a Hawaiian themed bar we assumed the cocktails would be great. Me and my wife love Hawaii. We were wrong. Unfortunately the drinks were disappointing and lacked both balance and flavor. I ordered a Mai Tai which I'm very familiar with. I've had very good ones and some just ok ones. This drink didn't even resemble a Mai Tai. I tasted tonic water which made the drink both fizzy and bitter. No taste of rum or oget what so ever. It was also garnished with fresh mint and not pineapple. We sent the drink backed and ordered a Maximum Aloha which tasted almost identical to the Mai Tai except for strawberry flavor and whipped cream. I really tried to like it but could only take a few sips. Unfortunately we will not be returning. Now I want to make sure to give credit to the servers which were great. read more

Napa Tiki bar was supposed to be awesome unfortunately bar tenders are suspiciously slow. Most don't have the experience or aptitude to create balanced craft cocktails in under 15 minutes. Food was underwhelming overpriced rice, cold short ribs and raw coconut shrimp came out before cocktails. I imagine we will be seeing a lot of turnover here. Hopefully the next round of employee's will have the skills to live up to the potential of the venue that has been dumbed down by the current woke & broke crew currently occupying the space. read more

We went here, after dinner, so my daughter can celebrate her birthday with a drink and she wanted to see how it looked inside. When we walked in it was about 8:50 pm and all the servers seem to be standing by the door with very grouchy looks and attitudes on their faces. I asked for a table for 5 and they said " the kitchens closed." We were then offered to sit at the bar and the bartenders were friendly and helpful. I have been here once before for dinner and was not impressed by the food but now I do not want to come back for a meal here because of their attitudes. read more

My friend got off a long flight of traveling over 2,000 miles away for work in Napa. I live in Sacramento so her and I met in Napa. She was very eager to get some food. When we talked to the hostess we asked if there were any seats on the balcony upstairs, she said she didn't know but she could show us where the stairs were. We did not see any spots open on the upstairs balcony so we went downstairs to the bar where plenty of seats were available. I asked if we could it in one of the white chairs available and the bartender said no you can not even though people were sitting in that area. So I went back to the hostess and asked if we could be seated so she seated us among other people eating on the outside area I asked if I could sit at the white chair at the table and she grabbed the chair and said no. So we sat at the other harder looking chairs at our table then never got waited on. We waited almost 15 minutes and when we got up the hostess saw us and then quickly left her station so I wouldn't be able to ask about the service. Super rude. I'm surprised for a beautiful friendly tourist spot like Napa why the service at this restaurant was rude, unfriendly and unwilling to serve my friend and I. So we both went next door to the Bounty Hunter which was a friendly nice atmosphere and much better food from the sound of it. read more

Looking forward to visiting this new bar/restaurant in the area for a drink. Our group decided to just get a drink but the 45 minute standing wait for two pina coladas, a Mai Tai and a glass of wine was a big stretch. When we approached the bar to see about the hold up we were told we were in the "cue" despite that fact that a group behind us hoot their drinks first. Drinks were really mediocre and the $18 glass of wine was about a 6 oz pour. We even joked about any of us wanting another round but of course we left. Price tag was close to $100 for the drinks. Sat upstairs and although the evening was cool and breezy, and they had heaters they were never turned on. I realize the place has only been open for about two weeks but they have some serious issues to work out. The bright spot was the interior decorations which were expertly done to complete the Hawaiian vibe. read more
