Man, I love me some zah. I think I've tried almost every pizza join in manhattan already and needed to step outside of my comfort zone and try some of the Brooklyn pies. Heard a lot of good things about Williamsburg pizza and those things were absolutely correct. I was in the area and looking for a spot for some dinner. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of options, so when I saw this place, I thought I was saved. Walked in near closing time so it wasn't too busy. Was greeted immediately and ordered a Grandma's and a regular. They were very quick and I was out of the door try these slices at home. I at first wanted to stick around and dine-in but it didn't seem like the best place to enjoy the food, but then again I came in near closing on a weekday, so it might not be the best gauge of the vibes or atmosphere. You know you're getting your moneys worth! I always get margherita and grandma slices and they taste so delicious! it tastes authentic and the pepperoni and ingredients are very fresh and authentic. Place has enough tables to grab and dine in. The last time I got there all the tables were filled so that was a bummer although there was outside seating but it was too cold to do that so I took it to go. Came here for a very late night slice after hitting the bars and overall it wasn't bad but definitely one of those slices that tastes a lot better at 2am instead of 2pm. I got the margherita slice which was a pretty huge portion, definitely the largest slice I've ever gotten at a New York slice shop and a good value at around $6. The pizza itself was fairly mediocre, without much flavor from the crust and the sauce being pretty plain. The cheese was decent but definitely nowhere near the quality of the really good slices. So the first time I didn't love it but I thought okay maybe it was an off day since it has some pretty good reviews and I didn't order it for a long long long time and then decided to try it again. So I tried it again and it was inedible. They must be making the dough and freezing it because it tastes like it has been kept in the freezer for months, and I know it was the dough because it was the pizza and the garlic knots. This place was dependable especially when working late and needed a quick bite to eat. The auntie working the front is always friendly and serves you fast. The place gives a very neighborhood vibe exactly what NYC is all about. On to the pizza, the pizza is not the best in Brooklyn due to the sheer amount of competition however it is definitely above average. My boyfriend and I stopped by here for a late night snack. At around 10:30pm on a Saturday, it was fairly busy. I had a slice of the Sophia Loren, which had mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, garlic, and basil. It was delicious-- very heavy on the garlic! While it looks like an old-school pizzeria, I thought Williamsburg Pizza was more gourmet/modern than that, due to the prices and the quality of the slices. Came here for a late night meal and I was a bit dissapointed. I had high hopes going in, having heard of this place before. The prices of pizza by the slice don't justify the flavor, which was lacking. I got Tartufo, Bianco, and Paesano slices. They all looked great and were not the common pizzas having fresh and appetizing ingredients. Sorry to say they all lacked flavor, they were good just not something I would spend money on again. I was very excited for the meatball hero and it tasted very fresh, but again, bland. Didn't even have much saltiness to it, especially compared to some pizza slices. If I was ordering an entire pizza- would definitely go "extra" on the sauce Pepperoni- - Be-Hive brand- if you do not know, this is hands-down the best vegan pepperoni product out there! Gotta say I'm shocked by the overall mediocre reviews? Williamsburg Pizza is one of my go-to pizza delivery places in the area. I almost exclusively order the Bianco pie because I love it so much! The dollops of ricotta are sooo good and usually I'll add pepperoni or another kind of meat to make it really satisfying. The crust is thin and a nice balance of crunchy and chewy. Also the garlic knot rolls! They're shaped kind of like cinnamon rolls so they have that satisfying pull-apart texture. I've ordered from Williamsburg pizza before and plan to again in the future!
