In a city of pizza joints, probably one on every block, it's hard to recommend one over the other- but I do like this one! It is near my apartment, and comes in handy either for an afternoon snack, or for having a slice after leaving a club. The staff are always friendly and quick, the place is always clean, whether you eat in or take it way. They have a lot of choices, but I tend to stick to the basics- pepperoni, sausage, or plain old cheese. However, I see a lot of young people in here having "different" style pizza, so they have something for everyone. One thing for sure, the crust is awesome! This is a hard one. I like the gluten free crust a lot which can be hard to find but there is very little cheese on a cheese pizza. I ordered it twice. The first time was an okay amount- I would've liked more but I figured it's New York, they have to make steep rent and cut corners. When I ordered it again, I would say 30% of the time I was eating the pizza. It seemed like I was just eating bread. So I am torn. I love the GF crust but feel like I am paying $30 (it is like $26 or $27 but I order on Postmates) for mostly bread which feels like I am being taken. I really enjoy Williamsburg pizza! I think the locations I've been to have been pretty comparable. They're also one of the few pizza places that sell vegan pizza by the slice, which is a plus! The roasted red pepper is the winner here coming through with that sweet, roasty bold flavor as you bite a nice CRUNCHY crust. Theres structure to these slices. The best part of this place is their pizza's crust. The flavors of this slice were really good to boot. Italian sausage decorating it for notes of herby umami-ness. Not bad. What I didn't know was that there were several locations throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn including here on the UES. Fairly new to this area according to other reviewers, I found myself on the UES for an appointment. Since it was lunchtime, I was in the mood for--what else? pizza. I was only too happy to come face to face with Williamsburg. The space inside was clean, small and humble with about 6 or so tables. The person behind the counter made a few suggestions regarding the styles, both square and round, averaging around $4.75 per slice. They all required to be heated in the oven and for some reason, Sophia Loren stared me right in the face! No, not the iconic Italian actress--the style of pizza. It was also recommended by the worker. It looked simple---roasted fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, garlic and fresh chiffonade basil. At $4.75, it was a huge , lengthy slice but definitely not simple. The toppings and crust were a perfect marriage. You know pizza is good if it can stand alone without the red sauce. The crust was light as air and crispy but with just the right bend to it. Together with a La Croix beverage, it was a $6.00 lunch. And again, the massive slice was not only delicious but very filling. I have my eye on the mushroom truffle slice for next time. Better yet, I plan on visiting the original location in Brooklyn soon. Williamsburg Pizza allowed me to experience one of the best slices of pizza I had in a very long time. I'm a fan! read more

Definitely not a floppy slice. A definite plus in my opinion! I've seen cheese slices that cost less than $3.50 but this price doesn't seem unreasonable. The newest location just opened in the Upper East Side, half a block away from PQR, which has been a little off lately, so this is a nice addition to the neighborhood for a reliably great classic NY slice. The gentleman behind the counter asked if we wanted our slices hot or warm. Williamsburg Pizza Wows Don't let the nearly $30 price tag put you off. If you want vegan pizza...literally a huge slab of it...this place is for you. We're in a pandemic so a one hour delivery time was given. But they delivered in less, and usually do. The vegan Calabrese is a stunner: loaded with tasty fake meat, spicy like the real thing. The fake cheese melts and is super gooey, again like the real thing. Add in sweet tomatoes and fresh basil and you will not miss traditional pizza at all. This hunky square pie lasted for days. Pop in the micro for twenty seconds or so and reheat to eat. They also offer a veggie loaded vegan pie, tasty and full of artichokes. It's a stunner and huge, too. Not as spicy, lighter.
