Concerning the carry out packages on the chalk board. I went yesterday for the first time in a while and ordered the Family Pack. 1 pound of pork, coleslaw, baked beans, 5 buns and 12 oz of sauce. The price went up and the baked beans are a smaller portion as the sauce is. If you like a little extra sauce on you BBQ 12 oz of sauce is not enough. I have 1/3 of the 1 pound of BBQ left that will go to waste. I live exactly half way in between Williams Bros. in Canton and Fire it Up BBQ in Cartersville. Unfortunately, at least one of the deer heads hanging over your BBQ plate is absolutely covered w what appears to be a decade's worth of cobwebs. Ewe...?? Had ordered here a couple of times. We stopped by for an order to go. We ordered a pound of brisket and 2 sides. When we arrived home we immediately started eating. The brisket was cut into very large slices. Almost chunks. It was dry and not nearly as tender as good brisket should be. Slices were way too thick too. I've been coming here for many years and this is my favorite bbq in the world. The meat is always smoked to perfection in the pit and their bbq sauce is sweet and tasty. Makes for the perfect sandwich. Doesn't matter which location I go to either. I usually get take out but go in and eat every once in a while and the service is always on point. Lunch today was a disappointment. This place just oooses bbq joint. We were warmly greeted and instantly seated. Service was prompt and agreeable. It all went down in a hand basket as soon as the food arrived. Did I mention they have as good a glass of iced tea as anybody could ever want. Now for the bad news....both the beef and pork were old, and re microwaved. The pork was crunchy hard and swamped in bbq sauce to mask the dry pork. The beef sandwich had hot spots under the bun that I burned my tongue on. That was followed by a warm bite then the next one would be hot as fire. Mac n cheese was fair but was uninspired and was lacking any punch and had very little cheese. The small half ear nibbles corn on the cob was the best menu item to arrive at our table. Baked beans were pedestrian and while they had a little bbq sauce it would have benefited from some of the aging hard pulled pork. We drove 30 miles one way for this bad bbq. Solid BBQ but not award winning, generous portions. The meats are smoked on their pit that can be seen in the dining room, nothing to hide. The exception is the chicken, which is rotisserie cooked and isn't quite as smokey as if it were done on the pit...but it's still good. These guys really shine in that they offer different items that will appeal to members of your party that don't like BBQ (though such leanings are worthy of banishment in my book). The ribeye steak is tasty and grilled at the pit; it is marinated. Burgers are good and grilled at the pit. The grilled salmon is very good. Grilled sausage is good. The fried catfish is good, if you like fried fish (not my thing). The onions rings are amazing (I'm convinced it's the panko breadcrumbs). The Brunswick stew is great. Mac n cheese is simple but appeals to my finicky teenager. The "lite" menu offers salads topped with meat and baked potatoes stuffed with meat. Deserts are simple and tasty pies or cake. All in all it's a good value. They have been running a customer appreciation special on Tuesday nights: all you can eat from a fixed menu of pulled pork, chicken, fries, beans, and slaw(?) for $4.99. These guys also support local charities with fund raising. They were at the Pentagon after 9/11 with a catering truck to feed emergency workers. They give back. read more

I live close to Williamson Bros. Its a good, solid place to eat. I like their BBQ the best of any place nearby. What I don't like - they are priced slightly too high. Service can be impersonal. Never bad (and I've eaten here sporadically for years), but also its never been stellar either. Also, I hate that stupid sign in the back, near the employee "ring up" register, which tells employees not to put x near x, or whatever, signed management. I don't want to see ANY signs from management to their employees. That belongs "behind the scenes". It gives the impression that management is a bunch of a-holes, honestly. BBQ is a very personal choice, in how you like it prepared. I like Williamson Brothers. Its pulled, and it has crunchies. I like that. My mother always requests no outside meat when she eats here, and get it that way. The French Fries are pretty darn good, as well. Overall - worth eating at. Not worth driving too far out of your way for, but well worth it if you are in the area. read more

NOT IMPRESSED. I have heard pretty good things about this joint and after driving by and smelling it for over 5 years I finally decided to try it. We had what we thought were coupons for 6.99 all you can eat Mon-Thurs from like 4 to close something like that. This is a great deal however there are no coupons that is just the price and the "coupons" are just an advertising technique to get you in the door. Maybe I am a crazy person but that seriously annoyed me. Just list that as the price I don't want to cut out a coup and then feel like an ass when they tell me it's the everyday price. The waitress said it got you in the door didn't it. At that point I wanted to walk out the door. So we got the everyday priced all you can eat. It came with pork and chicken though white meat chicken is .50 more no big deal but still... Onto the important aspect the food! The all you can eat came with slaw beans fries those were the only sides included the beans were watery a no go for me. Oh and two pieces of toast well I suppose one per person. The bbq was decent nothing ground breaking. The sauce is ok the waiter at the table in front of us kept talking it up like it was the greatest sauce known to man. Let me decide and trust me I have and can name many sauces I like more. Sonnys is better, Hog Wild is endlessly better. Sticky Fingerz crushes their sauce. I guess all and all if you have to toot your own horn that much there is a reason let the product do the talking naw mean? I am glad I finally tried this bbq because it's a place I heard a lot about. If your in Canton, just use the extra gas money to drive South down Bells Ferry to JD's BBQ or cut across GA-20 East from 575 until you get to 369 hang a left, Amos BBQ will be on your left. Meat: Tried all 4 meats in a sampler. Beef is alright, but the chop it all up instead of giving you slices of brisket, Pork is ok, Ribs are country style, nothing to write home about. The one thing that this place does do well is their whole Chickens. They are moist and smokey. If I just ordered a chicken this place might have knocked down 4 stars, but that was not the case. Sauce: The BBQ sauce is perfectly fine. Smokey and sweet, but with quite a bit of black pepper in it to spice it up a little. It is not my favorite sauce in the world, but it doesn't overpower the meat so I am cool with it. Sides: Had the Fried Okra and the Brunswick Stew. Brunswick Stew: Essentially a bowl of warm Ketchup (or Catsup if that is your preferred spelling) with corn and pieces of meat. If you like Ketchup/Catsup, then you would probably enjoy it. I unfortunately do not enjoy Ketchup. Fried Okra: The waitress swore up and down the fried okra was the best she has ever had at a restaurant. She took the liberty to order it extra crispy for me. It was alright, but I didn't have the heart to tell her that it was overdone. Appetizer: Had the fried pickles. I have to say, that the breading that the put on these things is spot on. They must use some magic redneck version of panko breadcrumbs. Unfortunately they were not very good because the fried pickle in the middle is about as thick as a sheet of paper. Good luck tasting that pickle, because about all you get on that palate is fried magic redneck panko (although perfectly fried magic redneck panko). Also, the dipping sauce wasn't anything special. They seem to go out on a limb and stray away from the typical ranch. Was hoping for something monumental, but I just had to dump hot sauce in there to get half an ounce of flavor. Ambiance and service: Servers are just fine. The place looks pretty cool on the inside with the open fire pits and all of the decorations, but as I said before, you can't eat ambiance. Conclusion: I can see how some people would enjoy the all you can eat aspect of williamson bros. I can also see the massive draw it takes in on the weekend because of its location in Canton, right at the cross roads of Exit 16 GA-20 / 140. Reality is though that most of you have smart phones with google maps. This was my second time at Williamson Brothers (first at this location). The first time I was there I ordered the "wrong ribs." I did not want to repeat the mistake so I talked to the waitress about whether I should order baby backs or spare ribs (I could not remember which I had the first time). Well, I ended up ordering wrong again (for the record, I wanted the spare ribs, but ordered the baby backs by mistake). That was my fault. But the bottom line, wrong ribs or not, they were not very good. The ribs tasted like ham rather than ribs. And not very good ham. And they came with cold mashed potatoes and gravy (the mac & cheese was hot and excellent, however) The main issue was that I could not tell our server since by the time she came back to the table, we were pretty much done with our meal (my ribs only half eaten) and our drinks were long empty. And she did not seem to care that I ordered the wrong ribs, or more importantly that wrong ribs or no, I did not like them. My wife had the salmon and she said it was just okay for her as well. But the lemon cake she had for dessert she liked a lot. I do not think I will be going back to either location. read more

This place is not too bad. It doesn't have the best bbq. It doesn't have the worst. This particular location has been many things in the past, including a Mom and Pop's. I don't know if anyone who reads this remembers that place, if you do write me and tell me that you do. The best thing Williams has going for them is the all you can eat pork. I have eaten at Williamson Bros BBQ for a few years now and it's OK BBQ, but not spectacular. The service at this location has always been fast and friendly and how can one not be entranced by the open smoker filled with meats! Their Original sauce is Ok with at least some tang to it, but not overly remembered. One extra sauce is provided on the table but it is often not labeled so ask the server and maybe they will know. The (chopped) pork and beef are of good quality with no traces of fat or other stuffs found; they are served wet, but not too wet to drown the meat. Additionally, I feel each meat could be moister in texture as many times I have found them to lean towards the drier side, but not too dry as to be undesirable. Also, each meat could use a bit more time in the smoker, but only to deepen the smoke flavoring as too much time lessens the moisture content of the meats and thus creates the dry stuff I feel is unacceptable in good BBQ. The ribs are OK and are of the standard spare cut, but often a bit more spare on the meat to bone ratio versus other establishment's. The texture can be grainy at times and more gnaw-off-the-bone vs fall-off-the-bone tender, but again the ribs are OK with a nice deep basting of Williamson's Bros original sauce. The best meat I have had at Williamson's is the BBQ chicken; I strongly feel they have the moistest and most flavorful BBQ chicken in Georgia! I could easily overindulge myself with an all-you-can-eat offering if they had it! (Hint Hint!) As to the sides, I have found the Brunswick stew to be watery and very bland; really, it isn't good at all! The Mac&Cheese needs severe improvement; is it too much to ask for real cheese, not overcooked pasta and some flavor? The BBQ Beans are OK but really only as good as store bought. Green Beans are canned with some added doctoring; not bad but not great. The Slaw is passable if a bit dry. Tossed Salad has always been fresh! Corn-on-the-Cob is mush and forgettable! Onion Rings and Fries can be hit-or-miss as they are sometimes served Hot and Fresh or Barely Warm, and the single slice of toasted, buttered Texas toast has NEVER been toasty or even warm! Overall, Williamson Bros BBQ rates as a solid 3 out of 5 and is basically OK BBQ. I have found their culinary consistency of their menu offerings to vary sometimes but this may vary according to crowds, and their prices are reasonable for the food quantity. read more

We stopped in after the lunch rush on sunday and not only was the food delicious, but the service was good. I had only had catering from here before but Everything that was broughtt o the table was super tasty. I got the chopped chicken, green beans and mac n cheese. The hubby got the half a chicken, which was moist and tender. My mom got a pulled pork sandwich. We were both very happy, it came out tender and not fatty, The fries came out crispy. Our realtor got the brisket which was also nice and tender, she said the coleslaw was damn good, and the brunswick stew was the southern variety- done right :) The tea was sweet without rotting your teeth and the fried pickles were amazing. The menu at Williamson Brothers offered a lot of variety including burgers, sandwiches, quesadillas, and fish along with normal BBQ selections. They also have a great selection of appetizers and sides with options like potato skins, corn fritters, salad, and nachos - things that are not available at a lot of BBQ joints. I ordered the 2 meat choice platter with pulled pork and chicken. The plate comes with their sauce already on the meat, and I really enjoyed the flavor of the sauce, it was sweet but not too sweet. The pulled pork was good, slight smoke flavor the way I like it. The chicken was tender but slightly dry. Still good, but if it was more moist it would have been better. I chose collards and Brunswick stew for my sides. The collards were average, but the stew was some of the best I've had. I really liked the flavor of it, a lot of Brunswick stews are bland, the flavor of this one had more of a pop, a little sweet, tomato was the dominant flavor..it was great. Platter also came with toast. All in all, it was a respectable amount of meat for $15.99+tax but I was a little disappointed about the portion size of the sides. Still overall a good value. I dined with my family before peak dinner time on a weeknight. We were seated right away, and once we ordered they had the food out to us incredibly fast. I was blown away how quickly they filled the order, took them maybe 4 minutes. It's a large restaurant and even before 5pm on a weekday there were several other groups of folks eating. They've got a large parking lot that's well sized for the amount of seating in the restaurant. Overall, a great experience, I hope to return and try out more items from their menu. read more

Maybe it's just me, or the fact I am picky when it comes to BBQ restaurants, but I don't see what the hype around this place is about. The BBQ is dry, I don't think they put water pans with the meat when they smoke it, or not enough water if they do (just my opinion, not fact). Sometimes you can tell they add too much wood to the smokers, and you can definitely taste it. The sides are pretty good, but I could make better mashed potatoes with gravy, or mac 'n cheese at home to be honest. Atmosphere is fine, no issues there, and the staff are generally nice. I went out of my way to come here after hearing tons of positive things about their food and deciding that I had to try it for myself. Pulling up, the place was packed and I could not help but think that it was a good sign. My stomach was screaming for some smokey pork goodness so I parked the car and walked in. There was a bit of a wait for a table, so I saddled up at the bar to eat. I was craving some pork, so I ordered the pork plate with mac n cheese, fries, and Brunswick stew, which arrived about 3 minutes later. Friends, let me tell you, I immediately got that "uh-oh" feeling when I saw that they presauce their pork. I have certain pet peeves with food (read about my salad plate issues on another review), and one of them is serving my BBQ with sauce on it, instead of on the side. I like to taste the pork and lightly sauce if needed. My theory is if you cover the meat with sauce, you are trying to hide something. That being said, the pork was better then mediocre, and I ate it. On the other end of the spectrum were the sides. The mac n cheese was uninspired and bland. The noodles were the consistency of rubber, and I wondered what the yellow coloring was on the dish, as it certainly did not taste like cheese. The French fries lacked any kind of seasoning/flavor so I had to dip them in ranch. (I am sure I just lost a lot of credibility with admitting that I dip in ranch). The stew was very interesting. I was not a fan of the stew at first, but it grew on me, and looking back, it may have been my favorite thing that I tried. First impressions of the stew were that it tasted like ketchup; however, the more of it I ate, the more I could taste the different flavors. It may have been that I ate the sauced pork first, and their sauce is somewhat spicy so taste buds needed a minute to transition. All in all, I would certainly recommend giving this place a try if you are in the area; however, I would advise against going out of your way to eat here. My meal cost about $15.00, which I think is a little high for BBQ. The food has always been excellent, but it's the way the staff treated us when we rented out the events room in the back that makes me want to give it five stars. We rented out the back room for a family birthday party, and, as you can imagine, having twenty-five people in the same room quickly turns to chaos. The staff, incredibly professionally, handled everyone's orders and brought us our food. They were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the duration of the party as well. Very tasty BBQ available here. As previous reviewers have stated, it smells great from a long way off. They cook all their meat onsite in an open grill just inside the entrance. My girlfriend didn't like the Brunswick stew, but the rest was all good. The bathrooms weren't bad. I noticed that their current inspection score was a 91, although I didn't look long enough to see why it wasn't higher.
