Bourbon Street was quiet because it was cold outside. Seating is limited to just bar seating against a back wall--no public restrooms. The female bartender didn't have much to say. The alcohol in it is 151 Rum and Everclear. It's super sweet, so just be mindful of that. It's a great drink to sip on while walking through the streets of NOLA! Willie's has good chicken fingers. My husband and I stopped by this location while waiting for our swamp tour bus to pick us up. It was right up the street from our hotel on Bourbon. They serve fried chicken hence the name Chicken Shack. Their chicken finders were actually pretty good. My husband and I shared a 3 piece Cajun style chicken finger plate. We got fries and a biscuit. The chicken tenders were spicy hence the name "Cajun style". They were so good with BBQ and Honey Mustard Sauce. They also made our chicken fingers fresh but it took literally like 20-25 min. Luckily, we were the first stop that the tour bus stopped at. The bus waited a few minutes. The bus literally had to pull up right in front of Willies for my husband to catch the bus. I had to walk back to the hotel and catch it there so we could hold our spot. However, their jambalaya was just meh. It had a good flavor but it tasted a day old. It literally tasted like they just pulled it out the fridge and heated it up. It was not fresh at all. The chicken tasted "reheated". They use their fried chicken in the jambalaya. It added a nice crunch but it wasn't what I was use to. Overall, Willie's has good chicken fingers. If you go I would suggest getting the chicken fingers or chicken. It will be fresh although you may wait a little minute. I would recommend having a few minutes to wait. read more

This review is only for the tall hurricane I had at Willie's, and not for the food, as I haven't had their food. On every block on Bourbon St, you can find a damn Willie's Chicken Shack. It did not help my sense of direction down there at all. Rather than go back and forth looking for a good place to grab a hurricane, my cousin and I opted to get one at Willie's. Here are my thoughts... I liked the $15 price tag for a huge, collectible tall cup (you know the one that's synonymous with Bourbon St at this point) of hurricane. And I like that there was a good variety of different daiquiri flavors to choose from and/or mix. But, when it comes to the strength of my drink, I would suggest opting for another location or adding (several) shots of alcohol to kick it up a notch. The flavor of my traditional hurricane slushy was good, but I felt like it was barely any stronger than what you find at a 7/11 slushy machine. I'm not going to lie though, I drunk it down fast, and it, mixed with the other liquor in my system from dinner that evening, did give me a buzz. Came here just for the daiquiris. We ordered the $14 souvenir cup daiquiris. I got a mix of Margarita and blue hypnotic. It was tasty but I felt like it barely had any liquor so I felt like it was a waste of money. I would have given it 2 stars but the manager noticed my boyfriend's cup was cracked as he was drinking it. They gave him a new cup and topped off the new cup with more daiquiri. The chicken was decent. Actually pretty good. It was everything else that was a mess. The music was way way too loud. Yes, I understand the clientele, and it's kind of a party atmosphere but when you watch 3 groups of people walk in and walk out in the span of a few minutes without ordering, there may be a problem. Between staring at the speakers because of the volume and not being able to get to the counter to order because guests who have already ordered are crushing their daqueris while posting IG stories are clogging the area, it's a recipe for failure. Of course we put up with it and watched it all go down because it's entertaining, but it sure seemed like a wasted opportunity in a busy location.
