Stay away ! It's a tourist trap ! 117 for three people ! Seafood was horrible ! No bathrooms ! It's a scam !
I have to give this place a solid 2.5 stars. We stopped in while exploring Bourbon Street, and I'll admit, I was skeptical from the start. Cleanliness isn't exactly the street's claim to fame, but since we were on a food tour and this spot came highly recommended by a family friend, I decided to keep an open mind. The chicken itself was crisp, golden, and clearly well-prepared. I'm not much of a fried food person these days, but vacation calls for exceptions. I sampled just one or two bites of everything since we were tasting our way through the city, and while it was fine, it didn't stand out as a must-return experience. The flavor was decent, but I've definitely had better chicken elsewhere. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the visit pleasant. And as a Lil' Wayne fan, I have to give credit where it's due--the mural inside caught my attention right away and was a fun surprise. I also ordered a daiquiri, which I only made it halfway through. Overall, I didn't dislike anything about this place, but I wouldn't make a point to return. If you're already on Bourbon Street and in the mood for something fried and easy, it's worth a stop. I imagine it tastes even better after a few drinks, which might be part of the charm.
Hot, juicy and fast. Be careful super hot because it's fresh and delicious. If I'm ever here again, I'm eating there. Now the people next to us that bought a daiquiri, both day it's on the weak side.
I will say this is probably one of THE best fried chicken food chains in Louisiana. Yes, I said it. Better than Popeyes! Honey Butter biscuits were melt in your mouth. If you want good fried chicken and don't know where to start - go to Willies. The drinks are ok but I would stick with Fat Tuesdays for the drinks.
I went to establishment to order French I was told I can't order none and they weren't dropping anymore...I asked could she sell me the fries that were already boxed up she said I gota buy the chicken and fries because they didn't want to separate the chicken and fries that was left... so instead of making $8 sale on fries she choose two throw it alway
Great chicken strips and catfish! Staff was nice and funny and the jambalaya was made with chicken which was a plus since I don't eat beef or pork. And they stayed open til 3am which was great for a lot of people like myself who need a late night nite.
Peach Daiquiri for the save!!!! With a slice of the hot cheesy pizza the combo is fire! Staff is a vibe and music on point

Thar fried chicken in the South is NO JOKE!! I was LITERALLY thinking about their fried chicken for daaaays! I would make a trip back to NOLA just for this (and the beignets IYKYK). It was such a good experience, the atmosphere of Bourbon, the live jazz music, just walking down the street elbow deep in the to-go box just living my best life! not one care in the world. Absolutely recommend! The chicken didn't last long enough for a picture (oops) . Go get you some Willie's Chicken!
Probably some of the best fried chicken I've ever eaten! Perfectly fried, not greasy, and super tender! Just like anywhere else on bourbon st, nothing was super clean, but it was decent. Trash was picked up quickly from the tables, so more people can come in and grab a bite. Slushy drinks were made quickly and super tasty as well!
Got an order of 2-piece dark meat chicken to try, which came in a box with cajun fries and a biscuit. We wanted to try the gumbo that we saw on the online menu, unfortunately they no longer serve that item anymore. Nevertheless, everything was very good, and we'd come back again next time!
Went here to grab to go draft beers before we were about to start our ghost tour in night. Lady server didn't greeted us ever after we stood waiting at counter for 3-4 mins. She was busy talking. Although, beers are good here. And economical for the size. Tried previous night too. Overall restaurant is good and near to jackson square. Good interiors. Finding restroom is a maze runner but still it's there.
This is a tourist trap. It's not the real Willie Mays scotch bonnet. This is owned by a company who makes a lot of souvenirs and they sell on bourbon. That's why you'll see several of those place down there. If you really want the real Willie Mays you have to go to the treme to get it. Other than that I mean it's crunchy fried chicken but it's not. It's not the real Willie Mays so it is a tourist trap
Willie's Chicken Shack is a fast food chicken restaurant you can find throughout Bourbon Street and local New Orleans area. I had the chance to visit a different location on this visit. Restaurant was clean. You can watch th staff cook your food. They serve regular and adult beverages. I grabbed my usual 3 tender, fries, and biscuit special. OMG, it hit the spot. Too bad I could not finish it all. They are great for quick bites, late night munchies, or if you need to go soak some alcohol from enjoying too much of Bourbon St, they have you covered. read more

I stopped by here to get a drink, only in the nearly empty restaurant, while I waited for my son to get a tarot reading down the street. I selected the frozen 32-ounce diesel daiquiri. It was good, sweet, and loaded with alcohol. The price was competitive for what you get. I had a conversation with the manager/owner while I was there, who was very personable. Bourbon Street was quiet because it was cold outside. Seating is limited to just bar seating against a back wall--no public restrooms. The female bartender didn't have much to say. I would go for the daiquiri, then keep moving. read more

These shops are all over the French Quarter. Fast service, okay customer service, pretty good wings. I went here for a quick bite after a night partying. I grabbed a 6 piece buffalo wings and a bottle of water. I did see they have large drinks for sale similar to those at fat Tuesday's or Pat O Briens. The music was quite good which is always a plus. I would more than likely come here again. read more

I only ordered a small drink to go. I had the williecolada. It was about $12.50. Meh, Be cool if it was $10. I'd feel better with that price lol. But I could taste the liquor and the flavor of colada was there. Many other flavors to try too. read more

Willie's has good chicken fingers. My husband and I stopped by this location while waiting for our swamp tour bus to pick us up. It was right up the street from our hotel on Bourbon. They serve fried chicken hence the name Chicken Shack. Their chicken finders were actually pretty good. My husband and I shared a 3 piece Cajun style chicken finger plate. We got fries and a biscuit. The chicken tenders were spicy hence the name "Cajun style". They were so good with BBQ and Honey Mustard Sauce. They also made our chicken fingers fresh but it took literally like 20-25 min. Luckily, we were the first stop that the tour bus stopped at. The bus waited a few minutes. The bus literally had to pull up right in front of Willies for my husband to catch the bus. I had to walk back to the hotel and catch it there so we could hold our spot. However, their jambalaya was just meh. It had a good flavor but it tasted a day old. It literally tasted like they just pulled it out the fridge and heated it up. It was not fresh at all. The chicken tasted "reheated". They use their fried chicken in the jambalaya. It added a nice crunch but it wasn't what I was use to. Overall, Willie's has good chicken fingers. If you go I would suggest getting the chicken fingers or chicken. It will be fresh although you may wait a little minute. I would recommend having a few minutes to wait. read more
This place is wonderful !!!!! Just full of flavor! From the catfish to the chicken, ITS ALL GOOD! Came here like 3 times during my Mardi Gras NOLA visit. And they play the best music! They have frozen alcoholic drinks here too, but I perfer Fat Tuesday personally. But definitely drop in if you need a bite to eat while walking on Bourbon. read more

By far the worst. Over an hour for a 4 piece and a catfish order. And when I finally asked why I was waiting for a long time they told me they were busy since 4pm. Not my problem. They don't understand time management, girls were behind the line dancing .Theirs no sense of urgency at all. She was putting in chicken an order at a time ? Cleanliness was an all time low . No communication. I had front row seats for an hour so I saw everything . People were complaining that were only waiting 10-15 mins. Not sure what the girls name was with the short blue hair, but she was nice and efficient when it came to ordering and taking my money . DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION NO MATTER HOW HUNGRY YOU ARE There shouldn't only be 2 people working on a busy night read more

First stop in New Orleans after a long drive. Just walking around Bourbon St. and wanted a dacqari. Willies was lit on a Sunday night. Waited in line a little bit. Service was awesome. Drinks were on point. Very good. I saw a whole lotta chicken going out to other patrons. I said to myself " I am going to have some Willies chicken before I leave NO. See upcoming review.... .anyway, everyone was having a great time at Willies. The dacqaries were awesome. We left and walked around, drinks in hand. I will return to Willie's for sure. read more
Before my friends and I were about to leave New Orleans, we had to stop and get some fried chicken! We looked on Yelp for the best chicken in NOLA and came across Willie's Chicken Shack. We decided to order the regular fried chicken but after placing our order, the waitress brought out chicken tenders? I'm guessing she mistaken our order so we told her the mistake and they quickly prepared the order that we had asked. Honestly, this was probably some of the best fried chicken I had! The skin was super crispy and the meat inside was super tender and juicy as well. It was seasoned perfectly and they even had a bunch of sauces that you can lather your chicken with. I'll definitely stop by Willie's again if I'm in the area! read more

This review is only for the tall hurricane I had at Willie's, and not for the food, as I haven't had their food. On every block on Bourbon St, you can find a damn Willie's Chicken Shack. It did not help my sense of direction down there at all. Rather than go back and forth looking for a good place to grab a hurricane, my cousin and I opted to get one at Willie's. Here are my thoughts... I liked the $15 price tag for a huge, collectible tall cup (you know the one that's synonymous with Bourbon St at this point) of hurricane. And I like that there was a good variety of different daiquiri flavors to choose from and/or mix. But, when it comes to the strength of my drink, I would suggest opting for another location or adding (several) shots of alcohol to kick it up a notch. The flavor of my traditional hurricane slushy was good, but I felt like it was barely any stronger than what you find at a 7/11 slushy machine. I'm not going to lie though, I drunk it down fast, and it, mixed with the other liquor in my system from dinner that evening, did give me a buzz. I'm just saying I have reason to believe that another hurricane/daiquiri purveyor on Bourbon may have given me something a bit more potent. IJS. read more

Came here just for the daiquiris. We ordered the $14 souvenir cup daiquiris. I got a mix of Margarita and blue hypnotic. It was tasty but I felt like it barely had any liquor so I felt like it was a waste of money. I would have given it 2 stars but the manager noticed my boyfriend's cup was cracked as he was drinking it. They gave him a new cup and topped off the new cup with more daiquiri. I would come back but I think I would add a shot to it. read more
Now this is some gooooooood fried chicken, I absolutely loved this place. There fries are solid, their honey glazed biscuit is awesome and their friend chicken is great! The best part is they're open late, so you can grab some chicken at any hour of the night since it's located right on Bourbon you'll most likely be out drinking and what better way to soak up the alcohol with some awesome fried chicken read more
1st off let me say my grannys biscuits ain't got nothing on these biscuits. Probably one of the best biscuits I've ever had. Sweet and soft. It adds an amazing sweet side to the cajun chicken. The chicken tenders were juicy and crispy and had a hit of spice. Dont for get to have a cocktail while your there we split a large hurricane and it was amazing. Not to strong of taste of alcohol but strong enough to give you a buzz. read more

For late night munchies or a hunger attack, this place is it! They have really good fried chicken, jambalaya and red beans and rice. Their frozen daiquiris are just what you need on a hot summer night alongside your goodies. read more
