Five stars for : NACHOS! If you go to willibrew you have to try the nachos. My personal favorite is add blackened chicken on. They know how to make nachos how people want them--with the cheese and ingredients layered! They can be shared by at least 3 people. My partner and I shared it as our dinner last night and we still had a lot leftover to take home. Another favorite of mine are their French fries ordered with Cajun flavor. Haven't really had much else lately since we didn't go there often during Covid. Also pictured is their drink special the Winterberry! It was served on tap which was fun. Though I will say the menu said $7 and we were charged $8. The bartender was busy (we sat at the bar) so we just let it go. But hopefully they'll fix that for the next drink special. Jaylee our server was great. Attentive and friendly. We started with the nachos. Very good, very big portion, only order if you are truly hungry. We didn't finish it as we tried to save room for our main course. I had the cod and corn special. Very tex-mex flavors and tasty. The topping on the cod was tasty but seemed to overpower the cod a bit. The fried corn was very good, it outshone the fish to me. The rice was good as well but could have used a pinch of salt. We will definitely come back and try other menu items and I will bring my appetite, as portion sizes are really good. After a great 25 mile bike ride on the nearby Airline Trail we decided to stop here for some well deserved beer and food. Housed in a gorgeous old post office the architecture is the most impressive feature. Our flight of beer was interesting with the XX Porter being my favorite. Next, an appetizer of beef teriyaki skewers which were tasty followed by jambalaya (reportedly good) and fish and chips that were...fish and chips. Stopped for a beer and apps on our way to dinner. Great place, it is an old post office turned into a brewery. Very fun vibe and great staff. For our appetizers we had The onion rings, which had a nice light breading and we're perfectly crispy, they came with a sassy sauce that was right on point with them. We also had the chicken tenders with beerbque sauce which were delicious and tangy. Their menu looked awesome, but alas we had prior dinner plans. My beer sampler was great! I went from Blondes, and lagers to hazy IPA and a hazy Wit bier. Then finished off with a delicious Allagash White. The beer was all delicious, I was with 3 other people and we had a wide variety of beer which was all enjoyed. My family was in the area at a lake cottage. Both my brothers went to Eastern and really wanted to go back here while they were in town. We were in after 7 on a Saturday night and the wait was only 10-15 minutes. Everything was fantastic, including my daughters Mac and cheese. My sister in law loves the pulled pork nachos. I would have taken a photo but I was at the bathroom when I came and by the time I got back the platter was thoroughly dug through. I'm a bit of a BBQ snob, so wasn't a big fan of the meat, but the rest of the nachos was really good. Lots of cheese and a tray so large the 8 of us could hardly finish it. I kind of stepped out of the box for my normal ordering and got the Savannah Peach flatbread, just because it sounded very unique, though a bunch of other stuff sounded great. The prosciutto made it a bit salty, but the sweetness of the peach and the garlic oil helped a bit. No issue crushing the whole thing. Decided to bring my family here for father's day. Upon arrival, it seemed busy but not overwhelming. The host was lost in finding us a table of five for quite some time when there were tables in front of us plain sight. After I presented them to the host he decided to sit us down at one. The waitress came up and took our water order promptly. We all decided to have our food order ready when she came back with the water. Appetizers took an hour. Was actually pretty presentable and tasted fairly good. After that it was about 45 minutes until our main dish's. My daughter got the fish & chips. Was rubbery and bland. I got their review famous WBC chicken sandwich. To me it was identical to a Wendy's #6 for double the cost. My wife got pork belly sliders. That was probably the most decent meal on the table as my son's burger looked like a kids meal. Kicker....if we'd put all our French fries on one plate it might have made a full meals worth. This costed me an evening outside with the kids and over 100$ for waters and some crap pub food. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

All around great experience, here at WBC. This is the type of place you can go and just enjoy a night out. The staff was accommodating and friendly, service was a smidge slow from the kitchen, but not so much so that it was bothersome. The food quality made up for it! Speaking of the food, it came out piping HOT, and fresh! It didn't sit under some warmer waiting for a server to finish a text to her BFF. Which is why the timing was fine by me. Fish and chips were crispy, flavorful and satisfied my snobbiness when it comes to fish and chips. The ciders were awesome, the nachos were humongous and full of toppings. No chips were left naked begging for a blanket, if ya know what I mean. Go there with your friends, or take your mom, either way, you'll have an experience that you won't regret. Love WilliBrew! Love their beers on tap, guest beers, and their food! We always opt for their nachos- they are gigantic! Even with a large group these nachos are enough for everyone. Most recently my husband and I each had a cremo beer and shared their blackened chicken nachos and absolutely loved it! We've had their pulled pork ones here before too (pic in review) but the chicken ones might even be better! We were so full after and STILL had over half to take home! I wanna start by saying I used to go to Willimantic brewing Company pretty much weekly for a long time. I went again a few weeks ago and it was so so and then I went back again today with my wife and my daughter and boy has it changed? I never thought I'd ever have to write anything negative about this restaurant. I wanna start by saying my waitress was fine but they are literally so expensive. I could not afford to bring my family here anymore. I'm sure they make enough money on their beer and their liquor so my one review doesn't really matter. We order some potato skins and they were kind of tasted like they were premade not fresh like they used to make. They were kind of hard also I always got wings here but the cost of $1.60 per wing becomes very expensive actually the most expensive of anywhere I just remember when they used to make a lot of things fresh. I remember when you get to sample their beer and you get it on a little wooden thing and it was one price now it actually matters which beer it is in this price per each one per platter usually after I drink that I would have a couple of the one I like the most, but because of that I did not the burgers used to be great. My wife got a burger this time and it was skinny and greasy grease was through the bread and everything. I really don't have anything positive to say about this time and I'm not sure I'd ever go back again. I do want to say, though the waitress was very good. She didn't do anything wrong and the food did come out quickly, but I guess that's easy when you're making a lot of premade stuff. read more

They are known for their nachos, which are massive and could easily fill 4 people for just 15$ My GF took me here for my birthday and it was a great experience. This place is AWESOME. Came here with a large group and were seated right away. They have a patio area which looked nice with good amount of shade and sunlight, but we opted to sit inside. The front room was really impressive with thousands of keg tap handles lining the walls and with the super high ceilings. We were seating in the back room near the bar, which had good lighting and large windows. I honestly do not remember the kinds of beers that I ordered, but they both were really good and I have no complaints about them. For my entree, I ordered the lobster roll with garlic fries and both were amazing. The lobster roll was absolutely packed with meat, the bun was not soggy at all, and the side of butter was 100% delicious. The garlic fries were reallllly good too. I was honestly so full after the lobster roll that I didn't eat a ton of them, but I wish I would've had more room for them. This place definitely has great beer and great food and I feel like it's hard to find a brewery with both. I honestly can't say enough positive things about this spot. I really enjoyed this place. The cocktails are around $7-9 and are pretty decent sized. The service was not the very best, but the food was outstanding. My friends and I got the Cajun fries to share. I got the nachos and let me tell you.. they were incredible and very very cheesy. At one point, my friend went inside to go to the bathroom and a man who was working there said "excuse you" when he wanted to get by her, instead of "excuse me." Willibrew, oh Willibrew, home of some really amazing nachos!! Picture it. A 1909 U.S. Post Office Building. Abandoned in 1967 by the Federal Government. Remnants of post office memorabilia have been preserved to add to the flavor of the restaurant. Featured in their dining room is a 12' by 17' mural depicting a 1920's Main Street scene. They also sport a 60' mahogany bar as the centerpiece of the pub area. Willibrew also celebrates holidays with decorations as well...super fun vibe. It's got some real postal history, hence, the name of their nachos- First Class Nachos. Cheese, tomatoes, jalapenos, tortilla chips and scallions with sides of salsa and sour cream. You can top them with blackened chicken, grilled chicken, pulled pork, zesty pulled chicken or vegetarian chilli. We went with blackened chicken for ours. Yum! Pro tip- these nachos are a heaping serving that could probably feed four people or more. Definitely worth the $15! Did we stop there? Nooooo! lol We also ordered the Preston Jalapeno Poppers filled with cream cheese. Another hit for sure. Brought my college daughter here for an early dinner. We were seated immediately, and comfortably and greeted by our cheerful smiling server. We ordered an appetizer of rosemary beef skewers, which were very flavorful if a tad too thick in some spots. The portion was very generous. We had called ahead to ask if the beef stew was in the specials menu as it's my daughter's absolute favorite version of beef stew ever and it was so she had that and it didn't disappoint. I am a meatloaf lover but meatloaf can be hit or miss, but I will say it was actually the best meatloaf I've had. It had the tangy crust I love and was served with delicious chunky mashed potatoes and even the vegetable was made with care. My daughter is very picky and doesn't like meatloaf much but she finished it off for me (perfect portion and beautifully presented. My only issue is - and we've rarely been to willibrew because of this- is that even at 3:30 in the afternoon there is not enough parking. But that's not in their control. Stopped here for some beer and a bite because we were in the area. The building inside is really gorgeous and creates a very chill atmosphere. We loved the beer taps all over the wall! Very cool My boyfriend and I each ordered a flight and we split some chips and dip. We got something with blue cheese and chicken and it was really good! The rest of the menu looked bomb also but we decided to save our appetite for beer lolol. My only complaint is that they let children in. It always baffles me as to why children are allowed in bars! I am not sure why I took so long to write a review. I've been coming to Willibrew for over 15 years. My friends and I always enjoy wasting a Saturday afternoon away with Barry and the crew. It is always fun watching couples on a first date order the nachos and awkwardly try not to binge on the 5 lb plate of food. We enjoy the conversation, food and staff at Willibrew and will continue watching the day pass from a bar stool once and while. I'm starting to feel suspicious that people in Connecticut just don't know good food. I use Yelp religiously whenever looking for places to eat and generally it works out well. However, in CT, the reviews are completely unreliable and Willimantic Brewing Company is a perfect example. I can't help but wonder what sort of reference CT folks have that makes them believe that WBC deserves 5 stars. I had been looking forward to visiting WBC for quite a while, based on the reviews, but was quickly disappointed. The 3 stars here entirely due to the good service, good atmosphere, and good beer selection at WBC. The food itself is just... bad. Not worth a repeat visit, despite the beer selection. read more

The vibe is so cute and unique, the restaurant still has some of the features from when it was a post office. The server was nice and attentive. Food was great and didn't take too long to come out. Definitely recommend it. Parking is limited around the popular hours but it's expected. Food portions are huge. The machines it's self could be a whole meal for two people!!!!
