Brice is just a wonderful stylist. We have tried a number of local salons around Portland with really mixed results. He is an expert in not only cut for both men and women but also excellent at coloring. He is like an artist in visualizing the cut and color and is able to advise you on what may look best. I will admit it: I am a hair stylist hopper. I dont do so based on price alone as I will pay more for a consistently good cut. Generally, getting a good cut means that the professional doing my hair is focused, skilled, calm, and efficient. I'm pleased to share that the owner, who did my hair, was all of those things. The salon is also beautifully and tactfully decorated. The only slight downside to loving this place is that you cant make online appointments. However, they are quick to respond to emails. Well that you don 't have a record of me being there us concerning in itself. I got a dry cut from a male in your salon. Another woman was there at the time also about 40 with blonde hair. No one else was there except us three. We even talked about some of the art there. I sat in the seat closest to Lombard. I'm going to look up the date I was there and post it. Perhaps someone who works in your salon was making money there without your knowledge. He even complimented me on the tip I gave him. Although it was a bad cut I felt it was important to tip him since I know it's been rough for small businesses. read more

I have been going to Brice for cut and color for several years now and he always does an amazing job. I followed him here from French Cut in the Pearl and his new place is so cute and charming and much closer to my neighborhood which is a nice added bonus! Most recently I saw Brice for color and extensions which were a new adventure for me. Thankfully Brice is a total pro, walked me through the process and took great care of me as always. They turned out beautifully and I have gotten tons of compliments already. They blend perfectly with my natural hair and nobody is the wiser. I have been following Dee for about 17 years. She even did my hair for prom way back at Bahama Mama's. She is AMAZING!! One of the first things that I really liked about her was I went in with a picture of a hair cut I wanted & she told me she didn't want to do that to me because of my hair type it wouldn't hold that style, she could make it look like it for that day, but I would struggle doing it daily. I had never experienced that with any other stylist, they generally will just give what you ask for & send you on your way, no matter how it will look tomorrow or next week, Dee wants you to be happy until the next time she sees you. At this point, when I go to see Dee, I usually don't even know what I want, I sit down & say "just do something" and she always makes it look great & somehow knows exactly what I want without any help from me. She just knows me, and knows my hair and is able to do something that will look great and I will love. I almost had an anxiety attack when Lombard Hair Design closed and I didn't know where Dee went, I don't think I could ever trust anybody else with my hair. And now my daughter will only allow Dee to do her hair as well. We are life long fans! read more

This salon has it all. Contemporary and the NOW hair stylist and the calmer traditional stylists. Bryce has been my stylist for over three years now and I'm an adoring fan. He listens to my desires and counsels me on what my hair can do well. His blow outs and color are THE BEST. I set out to find a new salon that could bring me out of my doldrums, and I couldn't be more thrilled to have found Willow Salon!!!!! I made an appointment with Brice to get a haircut, but let him know I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted. He said that was totally ok, and that he would be happy to talk to me about what I was really going for/help with some suggestions!!!!! I arrived at Willow Salon and upon walking in was greeted with some of the most inviting faces I have ever seen! Clients and staff all smiled, said hello and instantly made me feel welcome. The decor is sleek, simple, with a downtown vibe, but still feels incredibly inviting and warm. They even offered me tea!!!! How great is that?!?! Now it was time for the cut... I didn't know what I wanted, but I knew I was in good hands. Great find! Karin did a great job or brightening up my overall hair color and covering gray - with strategically placed highlights and a darker base color, at the roots. This is not an easy task when you're dealing with gray and previously colored hair!! She also spruced up my very short haircut. And to top it off, she is super fun to talk to! Best kept secret!!! This salon is amazing! I was in the area and drove past the salon and happened to see the sign out front. I called and spoke to Penelope who gladly set me up with an appointment for later that day. When I came in everyone was really welcoming and the salon itself is trendy but comfortable. I had Penelope cut my hair and she did a fantastic job. I really appreciated hat she listened to what I was looking for and what my concerns were about my curly and often frizzy hair. She made suggestions on how to take the frizz and talked me through the plan for the cut. After a great wash/conditioning she put some layers in my curls and shaped my cut really nicely. She showed me some great hair products and gave me some tips on keeping the curls together. What a great experience! Will absolutely be coming back in the future. read more

Well, they cut my hair... I feel bad cause going into detail will be hurtful and I know the woman needs the work, but I asked for a particular haircut for which I showed her a pic. She seemed very confident, but tragically I came out looking like Simple Jack. They also didn't take credit cards which they neglected to mention until after the butcher. On the plus side when I got home I found the long-hair- buck-wheat-strand she left on the back crown of my head. Classy misstep. read more
