Came to Baltimore for work and wanted to check out the crab cake omelette but I got there when lunch was served so I turned my choice into a crab cake roll and fries. Everything was delicious, I can only imagine what the breakfast tastes like! I was served by the staff and everyone was very nice and friendly and didn't make me feel like I had to rush even though they were closing soon (sorry about that)! But even so the staff was very attentive to me and got my food out quickly and even made funny conversation! One of the best this kind of Crab cakes here in Maryland that means = in the world. I ordered "Maryland Crab cake Lunch" this can be as plate like mine or sandwich. Very pure crabby texture and flavor from the cake ball and they broil it. I actually love fried one as well but most restaurants recommends broil and Willy's don't give choice just broil and that is good too. As you may know, some place use too much mayo or salt and spices but this is mostly chunk of crab. Dipping sauce is a mayo based tar-tar sauce and it's not strong but just enough spices and chopped veggie. It's $20. For the lunch plates with one side, I took French fries both came toasty hot hot hot!!! In the counter there was a glass door cooler with pile of glass bottle milks and I wonder. She said that their favorite breakfast menu such as Pancakes, French toast etc uses a lot of it. Visible, Fresh local glass bottle milk, cream and butter milk are used for that morning favors. Locally sourced food that is SO worth the price. I had the hot meatloaf sandwich with fries (and gravy on those too!) and corn nuggets. The hubby had the grilled turkey, bacon ranch sandwich. GLEN BURNIE, Md. - A big step above your typical diner. Wife and I went around 830 on a Saturday morning. Small place of just a handful of tables and counter space. Be aware you'll wait. But the food and service are worth it. My pulled pork, scrambled eggs, black beans and salsa atop tortillas ($17) was tasty snd and a big portion. Wife's French toast w/ fried apple and granola ($16) was similarly big and sweet but not cloyingly so. No skimping on the apple. French toast had a slight crunch on the outside but soft inside - really well done. Very reasonable prices. Just be aware you don't go for a quick bite, between the wait for a table and the time for good prep. At least on Saturday mornings. But again, worthwhile. We shall return. read more

In the area this morning so I decided to find some breakfast. What do you know a 4.5 star joint on Yelp so here I go. When you walk into the place,m you feel like you've entered a restaurant in a small town or something ... it's cozy with about 9 or 10 tables and a bar area. There are definitely regulars there, but I was glad the waitress while interacting with them didn't ignore the newcomers such as myself she was really nice. I got a breakfast platter. I had platter that included bacon which I swapped out for turkey bacon and a biscuit that comes with pork gravy, which they were nice enough to swap out for the chip beef gravy instead. It came with two pancakes that were as big as my face and a slice of challah French toast, which was really good. The turkey bacon were nice thick pieces and the biscuit was pretty good. I ordered the fresh apple cider because I'm a big fan but In my opinion this didn't taste fresh it tasted bottled who knows?!?! From the time I ordered to the time I sat down on a Sunday morning was about 20 to 25 minutes not too bad. read more

Leaving Baltimore and I was searching for a brunch spot. I'd never seen or heard of Willy's so I decided to give it a shot. It's a small roadside diner that has a lot in the front and rear of the building. I went and was seated at the counter. They were only serving lunch and dinner at the time. I opted for Mom's meatloaf, apple sauce, and French fries. The fries were perfect. Crunchy exterior, soft interior, seasoned well and the meatloaf gravy kicked it up a notch. The Apple sauce was chunky (which I LOVE) and not overly sweet with a touch of cinnamon added. The meatloaf was cooked properly but was kind of bland. The gravy was excellent, though, and once I added ketchup it was quickly devoured. I really like the fact that all the food is locally grown and sourced.. Customer service was pretty good, too. I'll be back because I really want to try their breakfast menu. read more

I've been wanting to check Willy's out for almost a year, and I'm so glad I finally made it! Any time I can support local family businesses is a win, but it helps when everything is delicious too! I came here with a group and enjoyed some of the outdoor parking lot seating (it was the best spot for 6 of us to fit). It was a beautiful day out and I loved the bit of shielding from the wind. The staff was so kind and accommodating and always made sure to check on us. I am not usually a "salad as meal" kind of person, but the strawberry goat cheese salad looked too good to pass up. I asked if I could sub the steak for grilled chicken, and they had no problem with that. The grilled chicken was incredible, as was the salad itself! Clean plate club! Their menu was HUGE, and everyone in my party loved their meals. I would definitely come back here, and hope to check out their breakfast before I leave Maryland! read more

I was on my way out of the country but was in need of some good food. I decided to stop at Willy's. The place is small but a hidden gem. I was able to be seated quickly. The staff were pleasant and you could tell they had been working there for a long time. I will say this much the food was so good! I caught the itis before I paid my bill. Ms. Kathy made my visit feel like I was sitting with my grandma. My only reason for 4 stars is that I saw an unpleasant exchange between a host and a cook. The host lied to Ms. Kathy stating the cook made her drop a customer order. She then came to the counter and vented with seemed like family members. Totally not cool because she was throwing stuff at the cook between orders. Food wise I would come back but the host need to be more professional. read more

Down home, local kind of breakfast place in Glen Burnie. We arrived around 10am on a Saturday and I was worried about beating the crowds, but there was one empty table for 2 when we walked in. I was surprised that the place actually got emptier after that. I guess they cater to an earlier crowd. I ordered the fried chicken and grits, and my boyfriend ordered the banana nut French toast. My dish was good, especially the breading mix on the chicken. No ketchup needed. They put alfalfa sprouts on top of my meal for garnish that I didn't like the texture of, but it was easy to move them to the side of the plate. He liked his French toast and I agree based on the bite I had. Glad to see they use challah for their French toast. I will warn that the place is small on the inside. There's very little room for parties to wait for a table by the door, so I'm not sure what they do when it gets really busy. read more

My second visit to this little hole in the wall (which automatically means it's glorious), Willy's is wonderful. The size of the menu means this farm to table joint is serious about options. You won't leave hungry or dissatisfied especially if you visit for breakfast. I tried the number one - Spring Chicken - which for me was scrambled eggs, 2 sausage patties, multigrain toast and grits. Very quaint diner in Glen Burnie. The staff are all nice and welcoming. We went for breakfast (served until 12 on the weekends) and had the French toast, chicken and biscuits and the chicken and waffle. Honestly the French toast was the star of the show. The country potatoes and hash potatoes were also good. Be warned, you will wait a decent amount of time for your food. Everything else was ok. The waffle was a little overdone and the chicken breast on the waffle needed more seasoning. There were a good amount of people in the diner so they have a decent following. My sister had the fries and I had the chips. They were generous with both. I love sweet tea! Theirs is strong black tea, freshly brewed, and just sweet enough. They source locally, which I love! We had a little time before picking up family at BWI and wanted a bite to eat. After checking Yelp we chose Willys. It was after 12:45 and so the waitress let us know the breakfast menu was over but we were excited the chicken and waffles were still on the lunch menu. The only bad part was the waitress misunderstood and when we got our order it was the fried chicken entree with no waffle. We did try to explain that there had been a mishap but she did not offer the waffle. The meal came with 2 sides we had the fries and the brussle sprouts come with bacon which my husband doesn't eat pork so that's something to note if your ordering them. I also ordered the crab soup which wasn't bad and the fried corn app, they were ok but I wouldn't get either of them again. Overall cute place conveniently located by the airport. read more

After trying to get to this restaurant for months, I finally got to try it. Unfortunately breakfast isn't served all day and I missed it by 20 minutes. So instead of the sausage gravy biscuits and cream chip beef, I settled for a turkey BLT with corn fritters (fried balls). The BLT was on a rather stale multigrain bread and wasn't enjoyable. The fried corn balls were also subpar. The food was a 1.8 out of 5. Not sure I'll venture back for the other dishes. My decision was made when I saw the photo of the crab cakes eggs Benedict but from that point on, everything was even more impressive. The service was wonderful. The waitresses were friendly and every customer who came in seemed to know them well. All the food is locally farmed, even down to the milk that is stored in glass jars in the fridge and the fresh bread (not store brand). The menu looks impressive and I got excited every time I'd hear someone make an order because I wanted to try THAT TOO! These crab eggs Benedict were delicately stacked and delicious. I got them with fried potato & onion (great) but they have another choice of thinly sliced breakfast potatoes I want to try next time. I would HIGHLY recommend this place.
