Such a quaint, traditional cafe. Our waitress, Kat, was the best and even recommended some other local eateries while we were in town. Definitely a go to for locals and law enforcement, everyone knew each other in there. Great sized portions and the blueberry pancakes were delicious. Even have an option to sit on the porch with some heaters while it's chilly outside. read more

We love the food at Wimberley cafe. Today the only negative part of our experience was the manager, I think named Ian, who was berating the hostess consistently. Like the entire time we were eating all we could here was him being passive aggressive, rude, and demeaning to her. She looked like a high school kid and this is a small town cafe, it's not that serious man. He was nice to customers but he was so unprofessional to everyone he was working with. read more

i was w/ my friends family leaving the blue hole and we found the cafe in this small town, the people there were some of nicest people i have ever met. a good crowd and the food on the menu seemed endless i was stuck on at least 5 different meals but settled on the chilli cheeseburger which i would highly recommend. i would 100% come back. a real southern cafe read more

My fiance and I stopped by here while visiting Wimberly and walking around the square for a bite to eat. The waitress who helped us was really nice and our food came out quickly. Prices were great, and the quality of the food was delish. Very "southern diner" type of feel. Which - if you like that kind of thing - then you'll like this place. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was not busy at all. My fiance had their chicken salad sandwich and said it tasted like something his mother would make. So very homestyle cooking. If you love old fashion tasty diner food this is the place for you! Get there early or you will have to wait. We got there at 730am on a Saturday and sat down with no wait. The coffee is hot and great. Their biscuits and gravy are amazing and love their pancakes! The staff is sweet and very attentive. Very solid breakfast with that great hill country vibe. You have your tourists mixed in with the every day locals. Great environment with good food and healthy portions. I got the breakfast tacos and the table got the biscuits and gravy plus the French toast fingers. Everything was VERY good. I got the bacon eggs and potato (hash brown) tacos. One with cheese one without. I'm a big fan of having the hash browns in the tacos so when I saw them in there but not on the side, that was a good first impressions. The biscuits and gravy were large and 1-2 are definitely enough for one person. The star of the show though was the French toast fingers. Comes with 8-9 fingers and everyone at the table loved them. Prices were VERY good too so that combined with the food and small town vibe, I highly suggest going here if you're in town. read more

Came with a party of 5 with a reservation, we ordered (and waited while our waitress stopped in the middle of our orders to yell at one of her coworkers) and then had to wait 30mins for our food to arrive. Two of the orders were wrong. Never in my life have I ever been told at a restaurant that we had to leave in 5 mins because other people needed a table!! I was shocked! The site said they closed at 8 and we showed up around 7:45, but they were glad to serve us. Our waitress was very pleasant though we only ordered water to drink. We both ordered chop steak, my wife adding Brussel sprouts instead of the mashed potatoes. Both of us had green beans. We ordered a chicken fried steak to take home to our daughter ( and the waitress waived the add on cost for take outs). Everything tasted great. The live music was pleasant. The rhubarb pie was excellent. And the cost was reasonable too. I recommend this place. read more

Service was great despite it being so packed. It was freezing so we were able to sit at the bar (thankfully there was only two of us). The waiting line was pretty long and it wasn't a holiday. I got their pancakes which I loved. They are pretty big so you can actually share it. The bar tender...waitress at the bar was very attentive and made conversation w/me since my husband was stuck next door waiting for our coffee. I appreciate the homely atmosphere! read more

We've eaten there several times and were mostly satisfied with food and value. Unfortunately our most recent visit - 1 september 2024 - left us disappointed with both food and service. When ordering, the waitress pointed out the roast beef special on garlic toast that another guest was having. However, ours came with a cold roll and the beef was in a gravy that reminded us of the horrible packet gravy on salisbury steak. The meal was horrible. We each ate less than half our plate. The waitstaff was a nice lady when she was around. There was no one to greet us at the host stand when we came. The waitress that came and seated us only came by when we ordered and when the food was delivered. There was no one at the host stand when we wanted to pay and leave and had to go inside (we ate outside) to find someone. The only part of the meal we finished was the pecan glazed brussel sprouts. They were good but nothing else was. An attentive waitress would have noticed and asked about the meal - alas, no. It's hard to want to go back when paying that much for a terrible dinner and experience. read more

Love this place!! It's an old-style cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. It's a great place to stop for lunch or for a cold drink and dessert when you need a break from shopping! I always take out of town visitors there. Everyone I've taken loved the food. The burgers are really good. We stopped in last week for a quick break from shopping and had dessert. We tried the banana pudding and key lime pie, and both were outstanding, truly some of the best I've ever had! Both were big enough to share. I highly recommend this place. read more

Wife & I go here around 9:30 on a Friday. It's fairly busy, but a table was immediately available inside. Sit for 10 minutes & a server finally takes our drink order. She brings the drinks a few minutes later & says she will be right back to take our order. It takes her about 15 minutes to finally come back & take our order. OK, maybe she was trying to catch up from her earlier tables & we aren't in a hurry. However, after we had been there for an hour and still no food, we got up, put some money on the table to cover our coffee and walked out. Coming in from San Antonio to check out the city of Wimberly we wanted to get a bite to eat. Decided to try this place out. Wait wasn't that long since there were shops around to entertain us. When I got the text that the table was ready we showed us and the girl acted like she never messaged us. I had to show her my phone to prove to her. They then sat us down gave us menus and left us alone for a while. The a waitress came up asked for our drink order and left. Now I dunno if it's just me but. She was a little on the rude side. I ordered the Patti melt husband ordered the chili cheeseburger. Order took about 20 mins. But can I say it really wasn't all that great. The meat was kinda plain had to add salt and pepper to it. On a four day holiday to explore the "Hill Country" we passed through the adorable town of Wimberly. Seemingly a must do shop, we turned around to go back and explore. We foundba beautiful hand made pepper mill by artist Tim Martin at the Old Mill Store. We then proceeded to have a beverage at the Wimberly Cafe prior to our return trip home. We ordered some most awesome Brussels Sprouts with Balsamic Vinegar to nosh with the beverage. So very tasty. The service from Sherry Lee made for a memorable experience. My wife Kristi and I discovered this place over a long weekend just outside of Austin. We ended up eating there 4 times in 3 days. 3 Breakfasts and 1 dinner. The food is simple old fashioned Texas fare...but a few menu items have an unique twist. The food comes out hot and fast. However the BEST part are the staff and long time customers who treated us as family straight away! Special shout out to Kathy, behind the counter who is simply wonderful!! At first glance, this eatery looked outdated and uninteresting. And the pouty, agitated hostess didn't help the first impression. However, the speedy service and affordable menu made up for it. I was very hungry, but not for the same old burger or club sandwich. We ordered the chips and salsa before anything else so I could make an informed decision about the right lunch order instead of just ordering to stop the hunger pains. And then there it was, staring at me from the menu. In the salad section!? I'm more of a wrap girl, but something unique caught my eye...the Trio Salad. It was a scoop of tuna salad, a scoop of tarragon chicken salad and a scoop of tricolor rotini pasta salad. A woman of variety, this dish was shouting my name. Not knowing if it came with any dressing, I ordered the ranch in case. When the meal arrived (super promptly I might add), it not only looked amazing, but also came with the ranch and their home made Italian. Wooooowwww! So fresh, so herbalicious! And the tarragon chicken salad was succulent! The tuna salad was a little dry, but I just added a bit of that italian delightfulness, and all was right in the world again. I scarfed it down and remember remarking to my husband that I would drive all the way from Austin just for this lunch! Yummmmm! Give it a try folks! read more
