Went here on 8/17 at 7pm. Walked in and nobody was there. Even yelled towards the kitchen. Nobody was there. Next time I'll just go behind the counter and serve myself

Classic Southern California. Still reliable after 75 years and a delicious treat. The best thing might be the middle of the night hot croissants. Incredible!

Winchell's is one of my favorite places. It just happen that I work close to this one, How difficult to understand the word No Ham. I swear I said no ham many times, and even used the translator to explain that I do not eat ham. WT**FF Please one person at least need to speak English. And made feel its my fault I speak Spanish ‍ They have good food. But the guy work at night is kinda of a prick sorry

A dozen assorted for $12.99. They'll give you 14 instead.

Gimme a dozen! Well, actually fourteen donuts for $12.99, it's probably their promotion. I originally asked for six donuts, but each was already $1.24. I guess a dummy like me will get suckered into a dozen... wait, fourteen donuts instead. I guess it's my Chinese side who loves deals! Now, what am I gonna do with all these donuts? Anybody?? Okay, back to the business. I haven't been to a Winchell's Donuts for ages. I actually thought it was gone forever until I started to see more popping up again in different cities. I thought Dunkin' Donuts hung these people out to dry! But, I'm glad to see a new generation of Winchell's. I've been to this location probably three times. Usually on my way to and from the 110 or 210 freeways. Their donuts are okay. Not sure if it's the freshest despite the person there telling me that it's made daily. Well, daily can mean 2am when it's made, and sitting behind the counter until 6pm when I purchased. That's still considered daily. I like donuts, but just not everyday. This location always has a good variety. I enjoy the glazed, and the maple bars the most. I'm not too much into the colorful icing donuts with all the sprinkles unless if it was during Halloween or Christmas time. The coffee is decent too. Of course the coffee goes with a jelly donut. No, I'm not policeman! Hahaha. Anyhow, there's always spaces to park in the front, and it's convenient going in and out as it's also close to the 110 freeway. I like Winchell's as it's a household name. Not many things to rave and talk about. Just an average donut place. I've been and have tried fresher donuts elsewhere.

My friends and I used to meet up at the bar that used to be in the same shopping center, and we would stop by hear afterwards to get some donuts to go. It's been a few years since I have been back. I'd been craving an apple fritter and Winchell's has always had the best. I stopped by on a Sunday morning at 7 a.m. There was one person in side. There was tape and signs to enforce social distancing as well as hand sanitizer. The place was very clean and well kept. There was a large assortment of donuts to choose from. However, I didn't see any apple fritters in the display case. I asked the girl if they had any and she said she would check. She came back and handed me a bag and said, "Here you go. It's still warm." I was so thrilled! I thanked her and paid. When I got back in my car I had to take a bite because it was my first time having an apple fritter straight from the oven. OMG! It was sooooooo good. I may have to make it a point to come back here on Sunday mornings.

Old Fashioned Donut

Whenever I'm in my old hometown of Pasadena, I always go to South Pasadena to visit. I was craving donuts, so I decided to visit Winchell's on Fair Oaks Ave. it's located at a shopping center and just a heads up; in my opinion parking is somewhat limited, depending on what store you are going and what time of day. When I entered, I was welcomed by the friendly person behind the counter. I ordered an old fashioned chocolate and chocolate with peanuts donuts. I wanted something to drink, so I asked if they had Large Chocolate milk; they ran out. I asked how much was the small size of apple juice. He told me it was $1.65. To me that was a bit expensive to charge that amount for a small size. So I was ended up getting 2 donuts instead. My overall experience was okay and the customer service was good. Just my opinion, some prices should be a bit lowered, considering what is going on and some people are on a budget. I was disappointed that I couldn't get a drink for value. I will continue to come to Winchell's for their donuts, but I'm not sure if I would spend an extra $ for their drinks; maybe if I feel like it. I don't know if this is a franchise or corporate location but just wanted to give my opinion.

Cronut VS Pineapple fill = TIE I'll have to consume again for final decision :)^

Never judge the book (or cafe) by its cover. Let's delve right into this humble review. ;D Haha!…read more Kafana Coffee Bar is a nice little coffee shop hidden in South Pasadena that share the same lobby with a gym. They serve breakfast, pastries, coffee and tea (hot/cold) drinks. Their coffee bar is centrally positioned that offers a 360 degree view of the lobby. Seats were very comfortable with a relaxing atmosphere. I ordered an Iced Coffee ($3.27). And it was simple in taste and in appearance but refreshing nonetheless. Service was spot on. Staff was affable and competent. Prices are fair. Offers free wifi and street parking. What captivating for me was their interior design because it kinda reflected that of your own living room with flat screen tv, bookshelves, bar stool, love chair, sofa and a coffee table. Overall, I had a nice experience and somewhat enjoyed my iced coffee; I really like their chill living room vibe. I still recommend this coffee shop.

If you're looking for a cozy, screen free coffee hangout that feels personal and social friendly…read morespace Two Kids is the spot. We'll definitely be back! It's small and cozy, but that just adds to the charm and creates this intimate, relaxing vibe. Highlights Great public parking behind the shop. The service is fantastic and the two guys that I met were genuinely friendly and makes you feel welcome right away. The shop has a sign saying no laptops inside, and honestly, I loved it. It turns the place into a true social space where people actually talk to each other instead of staring at screens. The seating is thoughtfully arranged facing the windows, so beautiful natural sunlight pours in and gives everything such a warm, uplifting feel. They make their own oat milk in-house, and it makes such a difference our drinks tasted absolutely delicious, rich and smooth. The whole place just has great vibes all around.

The crisp taste of well-brewed coffee and chai is refreshing. (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment. Also, this is a "Laptop Free Establishment." They have no available electrical outlets and no customer internet.) I arrived at Two Kids (South Pasadena) on Tuesday (around 12:28PM). Parking is free and available. Two Kids (South Pasadena) is located across from South Pasadena City Hall. There's a competitive, free lot in the rear; it's a "4 Hour Parking Limit." Also, there's available, competitive free street parking. Staff is very mellow, professional, and respectful. Staff politely answered all my questions, and Staff felt very low stress. This location is surprisingly popular, and Staff easily breaks into friendly conversation. My drink took about three minutes. As mentioned, I ordered the Espresso w/ Milk & Chai ($6.75 - Iced). The drink is very underwhelming, but it's 1000% better than any chain coffee joint. The Espresso w/ Milk & Chai had a light enduring caffeine, and its flavor is very basic and simple. I would not drive a long distance for these drinks, but if I lived in the immediate area, this business is an easy spot to incorporate into a daily routine. It's affordable and good enough. On ambiance, Two Kids (South Pasadena) happily embraces its "just good enough" features. It lacks many basic amenities; there's no restroom, no customer internet, and no electrical outlets. They proudly have MANY little signs proclaiming how it's a "laptop free establishment." The location is also small; there's about two counter tables and three tiny stool tables. However, Two Kids (South Pasadena) is comfortable. I especially appreciated the air purifier and the strong ventilation. The place felt airy and refreshing. Also, the stereo system is very clear and with chill music. They even had one tiny bottle of hand sanitizer by the counter. It's also very animal friendly since I saw customers walk inside with their dogs on the leash. Overall, Two Kids (South Pasadena) feels built to serve the local community. It's not an impressive spot, but there's glimpses of passion for locals. If you live nearby Two Kids (South Pasadena), I recommend. It's not bad at all. 4.3 out of 5

The popcorn chicken, fried tofu, and orange green tea are what I usually order. They make those very consistently so you know what to expect. It gets busy here when school kids are hanging out but if you are outside of those windows, it doesn't take too long. Service ranges from friendly to standard, so no complaints there. The one issue I have with them is they show a loyalty program in terms of entering your phone number -- if you order online as well as the register. But I've never gotten any points. I once asked the owner about it and he claimed that they do in fact give out items, and said he would check on it that night when I told him the situation. But he never actually asked my name and info, and I've still never received any points since, despite having ordered here about twice a week for the past several weeks. It's not a deal breaker but it's strange.

If you like very tasty, but healthy/clean food, with special extra whole food ingredients that give the food pops of flavor, varying texture (crunch) and visual appeal - you will not be disappointed!! Piccadilly Grace not only doesn't skip a beat with curating their dishes, but they add some incredible touches that make everything so wonderful! These are some of the tastiest most wonderful salads I've ever had & you can't go wrong with ANY of them, but my current favorite is the Asian Crunch Salad! I just add avocado. It comes with a side of delicious bread pieces, which is a nice touch, but it's also really nice that they ask if you'd like it. I hate wasting food, so it's great that they ask. Speaking of their dishes, literally they have the cutest dishes too, as in ceramic dishes that again besides what's in the dishes, it adds to the visual appeal and it makes my experience so warm and welcoming. I should also mention that I've tried their wraps and sandwiches, they're amazing. The turkey chili - GET IT! So good and doesn't taste like turkey at all but it's not super greasy like beef chili. Back to the ambiance...there is no indoor seating here. All seating is in their surrounding patio and it is adorable and enjoyable. Wooden two-person or group tables and with single seat chairs. Umbrellas cover most of them and give shade. But on a hot summer day, with the sun beating, it could get a little uncomfortable if you're there too long at about 2pm. I've been there a few times on a Friday afternoon, and they have had a vocalist, pianist & saxophone player playing some cover songs and they are good! Makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I'm not someone who enjoys sweet drinks, but I can speak to their delicious brewed black iced tea. Perfection every time. Parking is easily found on the surrounding streets, close by and you can even score some shade if you're lucky to park under a tree. Last, but not least, the staff are really friendly, helpful and give great customer service and table side service. I am a huge fan of Piccadilly Grace, and I'll even drive in traffic when I'm specifically craving something from there and nothing else can substitute!

ONLY ABOUT THE MATCHA…read more I want to start by saying that after looking at other reviews, this place is probably better known for its food. However, I only tried the strawberry matcha, so this rating is based mainly on that. VIBE: The spot itself is pretty cute. It's small inside but has a lot of character, and the outdoor seating is great. It feels like a nice place to meet up and catch up with friends. Street parking is decent for a busy downtown area, though it could be better. STRAWBERRY MATCHA: Honestly, if this review were based on the matcha alone, it would probably be a 1-2 star rating. I could barely taste the matcha, and based on the color, it didn't seem like high quality. The strawberry portion was just okay, but at $11.50 (per the Yelp menu), it's way overpriced. Even $7 would feel like too much, especially considering how many better matcha spots are out there. I would strongly recommend skipping the matcha here but like I said that one's on me.
