Love Win Co it is cheaper than other grocery stores even cheaper than Wal Mart. It is very hard to get groceries if you go on are around the first of the month, everything is out of stock and it is so very crowded as well. Overall the best grocery store for the money. This cashier Irene , my goodness, isn't she a master piece WinCo has working at that store. Save yourself embarrassment and never see this lady for help. She defines rudeness. I go to this store every week. She has previously helped me in checkouts, no hello, no greetings or what so ever. Like she is not happy working there at all. Today I went to this store again, did my shopping and had bought some wine as well. Every customer knows they have to show their ID when they purchase liquor. Before they even ask me i always have my ID ready, just a habit of mine. Some of the cashiers there doesn't even want to see your ID but instead will ask for your date of birth, which is fine I guess. Today when I showed my ID, with such rudeness and attitude Irene demanded me to take my ID out of my wallet and hand it to her. Keep in mind that she never said hello, or greeted me, but instead was rude. I actually was thoughtful and had my ID ready for her. But no she wanted me to take my ID . My ID can be seen clearly from the see through wallet pocket. I had to tell her that she is being rude once i realized her rudeness. She dropped everything and on top of her voice started asking other cashiers and customer next to her if she was being rude. Like customers and other cashiers has nothing better to do. To take this drama to a next level, she demanded me to take my mask off because she can't see my face. Can you believe this nonsense? This lady Irene clearly isn't happy working there. It was so embarrassing when she said out so loud to take my mask off as if I stole something from the store or if I was a criminal and she needed to verify that. People where mask to stay protected due to COVID and here she is demanding me to take my mask off. I spoke to supervisor Sean later about this and he said there that was wrong of her and it's the store policy that no employees are to ask customers to take their mask off or to take their ID out and hand it to the cashiers. I have witnessed many times people buying liquor there but no one was ever asked to take ID out and hand it to the cashiers nor was anyone asked to take their mask out. This is pure classic. Why wear mask then? WinCo should monitor their employees behavior. Rude people working here. read more

Yes it is inexpensive, but you have to be willing to do a little work bagging your groceries and putting up with your fellow morons bagging theirs, which can be stressful. I would be a little more enthusiastic about this post if I actually thought the employees/"owners" cared about their company. But the simple fact is, there will always be enough ghetto in the world to keep this place busy, so why should they care? I have been here about 10 times. I literally live across the street so I wish I could come more often to spare myself from the belair price gouge. The parking is atrocious. Even if there is an open parking spot near the front, the place is a shopping cart grave-yard and dodging pedestrians that look like they've just stepped off the boat and have never seen a car before is truly entertaining, just not for me. Don't even bother coming here on the 1st and 15th of any month. This place is crawling with people loading up 3 carts at a time around then and the checkers do not care if someone is waiting behind a 3-carter. Very nonchalant. The best part is, though, when you do get up to the checkout stand, you'll likely be able to hear the conversation between your checker and the checker in the next lane talking about how much they hate their jobs. Yeah, I guess that would explain the dirty look I got as a greeting. Didn't realize it was MY fault that your life sucks. Oh and hey, WinCo, I realize that you guys are 24 hour, and you need to restock at some point, but maybe you can do it so that the entire store is still accessible at 5 am. Oh! I shop here all the time. Why anyone would pay the prices that Bel Air, -Raleys or Safeway charge is beyond me. You have to bag your own groceries but, so what. The savings are worth it. I've never seen any fruit flies or pests inside. The parking can be a challenge, The staff has always been friendly and polite. Don't go around the 1st unless you enjoy the agony of morons that can't read using their food stamps ( I'm not saying everyone on food stamps is a moron, just the ones that seem to get in front of me). I went to winco during the evening. I like this place. It's as clean as whole food or bel air but they have a lot of similar stuff that cost 2 or 5 times less than the others. I especially like the bulk section where you can find pasta, pasta w/cheese, bulk organic rice, spicy, breakfast for the children and 50 different variety of bulk coffee. WinCo Foods is great if you play it right. First of all, leave your Visa at home. To get your money's worth, you need to focus on the canned goods, frozen foods, and packaged types of goods. The produce is average to good depending on the day and how many people have picked through it with their dirty hands. Plus, the flies and birds have had their share of fun with the produce as well. The meat is average. The seafood doesn't seem fresh. The bread, tortilla's etc is fine. The worst thing about WinCo is the questionable customers that roam the place. I have been yelled at by big ladies for being in their way. "I'm the one that is taking up less space in this place! Why are you mad at me?" I have heard stories about food fights and other types of conflict. Some of the cashiers are more friendly than others. You can tell who the happy people are. Overall, WinCo is a great place to save tons of money. read more

I'm only giving Winco 2 stars for the price of their juice and the bakery department is decent. The meat is always a questionable color. The fruit is rotten before you hit the door and is complete waste of money and a few times boxed items have been stale when opened! Now on to my review. I felt compelled to write this detailing my experience last night there. After ringing up my items totaling $17 I gave her a $20 she proceeds to hold it up to the light ok. Pulls out the pen and swipes it ok. She then proceed to flatten the bill on the counter and scratches at it with her nail! Some decent deals but there is so much wrong with this store. You can barely find a shopping cart where the wheels don't stick or go a different direction. The employees have attitudes like they don't want to be there. To top it off I got a quart of milk yesterday and for the first time in a while I just got it off the shelf without checking the expiration date and I got one that expired the next day. I didn't notice it until my daughter complained the milk tasted funny. Boy was I mad then. It was too far to go all the way back for milk. I may be taking a break from there for a bit. Winco is not a store that is environmentally friendly. Yes they have bulk and I shop bulk in order to reduce my own personal waste, i.e. plastic waste. Brought my own jars and cloth bags to fill, however the customer service desk "could not" weight them because "no one has ever brought their own containers before". No one ever!! It was suggested that I use the plastic containers provided and then put my items in my jars after check out. Which defeats the purpose of not wanting to create more garbage for the landfill. So, thank you winco for absolutely no help, and not being able to think outside of your garbage producing box. I guess I am off to a more flexible and understanding store. read more

The week of Thanksgiving, I was at the self checkout lane having difficulties processing some produce through the checkout process. The cashier managing the self checkout area was USELESS I had to yell over to her for help. She didn't even know what she was doing as at the end of checkout there were still problems, she verified the produce had not been entered in which she had supposedly done. Next the other joyous event I was contending with was some loser strung out on what appeared to be drugs hovering around me. I asked the cashier to do something about it and she ignored me, instead of doing her job and taking care of it herself, she did nothing. No call to security or manager, nothing. I don't remember her name but she was heavy set, slightly darker skin tone and short curly hair. Updated review I give 3 stars instead of one star. The security guards have really helped to clean this store and parking lot up! read more

It doesn't matter what WinCo you go to, they all look the same. It doesn't matter if it is opening day or older than the hills themselves: they all look half built. BUT...I can see where this helps. The company provides facilities that are no frills so they spend less and can charge less. It works. Some people have a problem with bagging their own groceries but I don't mind it...it takes me back to the days when I ran the front end at large grocery center in Oklahoma City. I just hate watching the 80 year old blue-hair trying to bag canned goods and carrying them. I especially like the bulk food area, where you can get 23 pounds of scrumptious granola, though it might cost you a pretty penny. Either way, it's your choice. I definitely will be going here on a regular basis even though it's 2 towns over. read more

I do 90% of my grocery shopping here. From the meat deli to their great bakery I find myself saving more than 10-15% on my groceries and other items. They also have great deals on firewood and fire starters. The staff here is usually very nice and the generally keep the lines short. The people that come here are kind of scummy at times but it's all about going at the right time. Dinner time early in the week seems to be the best for me. read more

My boyfriend lost his wallet there a few days ago& we've been calling asking if anyone turned it in. The ladies at customer service were extremely disrespectful& rude towards me. All I did was ask if someone turned in a wallet& the lady started having a lot of attitude with me. It's already messed up that someone would take his wallet& now WinCo is being angry& rude. My family and I have been shopping at this Winco location for years. Thankfully we usually are able to purchase a lot of food at good prices. Which is good in my book. My only issues are that you have to walk into the store to see what's on sell, and the coupons you get are not that great. Also, the produce is usually lackluster which is a shame because I love being able to pick fresh veggies for meals. Still they're good in my opinion. Just wish the produce was better. read more

All I'm saying is my current visit on 12/31/20 at 9:00 was by far the best. I was in a last minute rush for the wife and was looking for sparkling cider for the kids, I looked around before asking the kind worker Denis, me and him speed walked the entire store looking at every possible location that could've possibly had them, he even asked multiple of his co-workers and they just told him well we are all out than, but that didn't stop Denis. Denis continued to go the extra mile and continue to look for me. Long story short my man Denis managed to find 4 different varieties of sparkling cider for me and I was amazed, due to the fact every one else was quick to give Denis the red light on being out of stock but he went the extra mile. Denis if you see this tell your manager I said you should be promoted and demand a raise your customer service is above and beyond and you should be the prime example of a hard worker. I'm talking paranormal, Fortean stuff here. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to encounter my first extraterrestrial or Bigfoot while visiting one of these fine chains. Bring an 8mm camera with you next time you come and send off the footage to The National Enquirer; I bet you make the front page (unless, of course, they decide to take yet another annual stab at "Bat Boy". I am beyond disappointed in the service that I witnessed today at your Elverta location. As a General Manager in the customer service industry I am trained to observe both positive and negative guest service. I have never felt the need to go to a manager and fill out a complaint like I do today. Ms. Monique was probably the most disrespectful associate I have seen in a long time. She was obviously upset that the patron ahead of me was using WIC as if she had been inconvenienced by doing her job. She yelled to the line multiple times that it was going to be a long time because the guest had WIC (not apologizing) and was extremely rude to the man and may have said the word WIC 15-20 times. We get it he had WIC! She was clearly pissed and did not look the man in the eye, assumed he did not want the non-WIC items because he had to pay for them. Bless this man because he was still very friendly even though he was extremely embarrassed. Doesn't help that the man was Indian as well. Please make sure she knows that her job is customer service and she can't treat people that way. I highly recommend reassignment but the register is not the place for her. The other employees were great but this one was the absolute worst. She really needs to decide if customer service is for her because there is no excuse for her behavior. read more

The winco in antelope deli department is so disgusting. I've never seen so many flies all over the meats and cheeses and meat that's just been left on the slicer. It's absolutely disgusting. One of the workers literally was going to cut my meat with a slicer that was covered in juice and bits of meat that had been sitting on the slicer for about 10 minutes before I was helped. It's sad when a customer has to tell an employee to clean up the meat slicing area before cutting more. So disgusting. I'm sure they are breaking so many health regulation rules or something.
