I think the worker don't know what "about" means...
    Lucy L.

Worse service of all the winco's I have been to. I shop at Elk Grove and Citrus Heights and Roseville. Nobody cares how many items I check out with at self checkout except the Antelope location. I'm a fast scanner. I've worked retail before and know how to scan and pack my items. I wanna be in and out, thus why I'm in self checkout. Antelope is the only location that gives me crap just by looking at my cart and telling me I can't use self checkout because I have over 15 items. So I took 15 items, all Rockstars out of the basket and scan and pay. My husband scans the rest of the basket. He ends up with 20 items and the lady at the front gets an attitude, like you guys can't come here next time because you just scanned over 15 items. Mind you, there was no line. No one cares except for the clerk. No harm no fowl. What's the big deal? You have a job because I spend my money here. That's my rant for the day. And this isn't the first time they've given me an attitude. It's like all the time at this location. Learn customer service, please. I feel like 15 items is a guide but if I'm at 16-20, so what?

Juan made delicious chicken curry tonight from those packet curries

It's Beef Stew Tuesday! Got of early from work today, hence, the grocery shopping. Not a lot of people early weekday mornings, I like it like that :) The meat aisle was fully stocked. Meat were fresh. Fruits and vegetables great as always. I got me a bag of red delicious apples, peaches, bananas and mandarin oranges. On to the meat aisle, chuck roast. Got some cage free brown eggs, salted butter (cake always taste better with salted butter.) Next aisle, got me some broth, chicken cubes, pot roast seasoning, bay leaves (use 2) gumbo file (for future gumbo), a peanut butter cookie mix and that's it. You know, for $10 with of chuck roast, it's a dinner for 3 and with leftovers. Recipe: cut into large cubes, slice up the celery to an inch size, baby carrots, 4 medium size potatoes - cut Into halves, pot roast seasoning, 1 large chicken/beef broth, 1-3 cups of water, a pinch of salt, bay leave optional- a pinch of rosemary, oregano and thyme. And, a dash or Worcestershire sauce if you have one sitting at home, otherwise you can throw in one chciken buillion. Voila, Winco carries all the above for a tasty, comforting beef stew you and your family can enjoy today, tomorrow and whenever. Oh yes, brown the beef (coat it throughly with flour) then add the broth and water, potatoes, carrots, celery, pot roast seasoning and cook at medium heat. Lower it down to low when it started to boil and cook for 1 1/2 hour. Enjoy! Happy shopping at winco.

I was standing there for a while and then the old lady walked in to the office and she even said anything to me, not say hi, not anything and just got disappeared in the office. I waved my hand to the lady at the florist again just to let her know that if you guys too busy I can come another time. The cashiers work fast, the building itself is quiet and spacious, and the selection of items is actually pretty decent. I am deducting a star though because they do not sell makeup wipes or makeup remover here. I know, I know- who's coming to Food4Less for beauty products? Unfortunately in Rio Linda these days it is harder to find such products, and I'm someone who likes to get all my shopping done at once. BTW- try the fresh French bread in the bakery racks. You can't miss it. That was some of the best French bread I've had a minute.

When I contacted the store, I was told that I had removed/canceled the items myself, which is not true. I never canceled or removed anything. The only changes I made were approving replacement requests after the employee sent me pictures of the replacement items. The most frustrating part is that the employee even sent me a picture of the meat I ordered, but then told me she put it back because it showed as canceled. If the system showed something different on their end, I should have been contacted and given the opportunity to clarify, not have my groceries put back and then be told that I canceled them. What makes even less sense is being told that I canceled the items while those same items were still on my receipt and I was charged for them. If I had actually canceled the items, I wouldn't have been charged for them in the first place, and I wouldn't have been able to request a refund for groceries I paid for but never received. I had to request the refunds specifically because I PAID for those items and they were missing from my pickup. I also asked if the missing items could simply be repacked so I could pick them up, but I was told to just request a refund through the app. Very poor communication and customer service, especially when I had already approved the replacements. This has also happened to me before with missing and poor quality items, so unfortunately this is not an isolated issue. I would not recommend using this pickup service.

And it used to be ok when i was still new there, but almost EVERY DARN time i went to buy a bunch of chips ( i buy in bulk so i don't have to come back for a while) I would get commentary from the clerks like " oh buyin some chips huh? Party huh? Like chips alot huh? " and while this doesn't really sound offensive and i'm sure they didn't mean it - it is incredibly rude and quite frankly NOT THEIR JOB to comment on what i am buying. I am there to buy and they are there to facilitate this transaction , i don't need social commentary! But this isn't even the worst part... Anyways, i always noticed that this particular store has some " characters" in the form of their employees that are stocking the areas and otherwise monitoring the self checkouts. There is this one guy who is taller, thin , and older looking maybe a little grey in the hair but he is always very strict on the rules, does not give anybody the benefit of the doubt and does not like kids at all... Then there is the Asian lady that works at checkout and is usually chill but sometimes she will also comment on things i buy and pry... So basically with all these interactions from the workers there whom i STRONGLY suspect are Special needs people because they have tendencies that trend toward the Autistic ( i work with special needs kids so i recognize that stuff ) IT quickly becomes a place that is no longer the NEUTRAL space where you get in get your snacks and get out - it is now a place where you CLEARLY get judged for what you order and verbally disrespected... The taller older guy especially gets rude VERY quickly and is not a good representation of a good customer service professional! This along with the fact that Save Mart is not really competitive with ANY store for prices has caused me to AVOID it even if it is the closest store to my house, and that is sad because there are PLENTY of other Save Marts that do a great job with customer service and aren't rude. Good thing there's a new Costco that just got built in the area so you can just skip this place like i do unless you ABSOLUTELY need cold sore cream and CVS is closed! : )
