The name of this joint is s little deceiving; they have do much more than just wine and cheese. The beer selection is very good and the menu is full of yummy and unique items. I'm drinking a Samual Smith chocolate stout and just finished some fancy meatballs. This place is a star location. I have taken a group of friends, 10-18 people here a couple of times. This has now become one of our monthly Meetup locations. Their selection of wines and gourmet foods are outstanding. We always use the back area with the futons. It's like having our own party room. The food is always good. I have never liked salmon but the way they serve it is awesome. The humus is very smooth, the breads are always fresh, and the variety of cheeses, meats, and sauces served on the boards are exquisite. This store reminds me of a hobbit hole and a drunk hobbit at that. Wine & Cheese Tcc is a great addition to downtown Plainfield. Wonderful selection of wine and cheese of course, but lunch is why you came, right? They have a great sandwich deli were everything is made to order. You're given a piece of paper in which you circle everything your little heart desires that you want on you sammy. My favorite part is that you get to pick any cheese from the several cases they have. I recommend going when not working so you can choose a glass of wine to accompany your lunch. read more

I love this place and can't wait to go back. Went on a SaturIday night and it was a bit crowded. There are a few tables and a sofa/lounge area in the back, as well as two comfy chairs and tables right by the front window. Perfect for a cozy, romantic date night, but also a good spot to relax with a book or magazine by yourself. And there are complimentary wine flights. Prices of glasses and bottles are about what you'd expect for this "boutique" setting. Fiance and I had a glass of riesling and the baked brie with raspberry jam. Food and wine are superb. Our bottle and food cost $35 total. Can't believe it took me so long to finally get here! Cafe has an unpretentious, but slightly European feel. Sounded like there was Brazilian jazz playing in the background. If you REALLY want to impress a girl or do something romantic for her birthday, I'd recommend stopping in here for a glass of wine and small plate, then heading out to dinner or a movie. The selection of wine is impressive, she has everything from locally produced stuff to imports. I was excited to see that she carried some of the wines from Lynfred Winery, one of the best local wineries. She also carries some of the tastiest cheeses ever, my FAVORITE being the St. Peter's Blue. I love cheese and the St. Peter's Blue is one of the top 5 best cheeses I've ever had. OK, today I went back and tried the cup of soup and half a sandwich. Just a quick update. The clam chowder was the soup of the day and it was great. The broth was perfectly seasoned and just the right amount of potatoes. For a sandwich, I had sliced ham on a pretzel roll bun with garlic/onion butter, hummus, spring greens, onions and avocado. They put a smooth chedder on it to finish it off. Great food here. They've been in business for six years now as a wine and cheese shop in Plainfield and opened the cafe portion of their business just last May. I know it is great because I've tasted the food, but it is also very busy on the outdoor patio in the Summer time. They have regular tastings to include wine, beer, cheese, etc. You have to stop in to find out more. I would highly recommend. read more

We asked for a taste of a wine they sell and we were told they don't have tastes of that wine. So we decided to buy a bottle and just share it with a $26 cheese board. The price was $25 for the wine. When we received the bill they charged us $35. We asked the server and she said that it is a corking fee but they didn't say anything about this. Also corking fees are for when you bring an outside bottle in not one you sell! In addition, we told them that we belong to Coppers Hawk and they never charged this to us. The waitress left came back and said she called Coopers and they charge a corking fee. Well they DON'T! BEEN A MEMBER FOR 7 YEARS! Very sad because this was the second time I was there in one week but will never go back again. Very sad. First visited this nice little wine shop for one of their scheduled wine tastings which we saw advertised on a small outdoor sign while driving down the street. It seems that each month they have a several tastings and other food/wine events pre-scheduled. Each event seems to cover a different wine region or type of food. They all looked interesting, if only we had that amount of time. The store is small and quaint with a nice selection of wines, cheeses, and other specialty items. The staff is very knowledgeable about their products and are very helpful. These sort of shops seem to be the current rage and I haven't been very impressed with most to this point. I sat down Saturday for my first meal at this gem in Plainfield and if not for the service would be a 5 star review easily. I'll preface to say that we are return customers. We've been in countless times for gifts of wine and cheese and always have found a great selection and a great variety that you can't normally find in the area. My fiancé has eaten here before for dinner so I joined her, here is the story Food - 5 stars easy. My fiancé and I went for dinner on Saturday and were not disappointed. We ordered a cheese plate, cured meat plate and a salmon carpaccio. Needless to say, there were leftovers. The cheese selection alone is easily some of the best in the area. We splurged with some 14 yr aged cheddar and it was phenomenal. The prosciutto at this place is insane. We had the prosciutto, two salami's (which were awesome) and the andouille sausage which I was a big fan but was a bit too spicy for my lovely last. The salmon carpaccio was very good. With the sourdough bread that we loved we made a tcc sourdough and locks which is highly recommended by us. Now the reason this place won't get 5 stars...... Service Our waitress was very friendly but was slow. The food came out quickly, but we were empty for a majority of the night and the table next to us told us that they had specials for $5 / glass. Our waitress didn't tell us which it rally have nobody to blame but myself, but I think it's pretty standard to let the customers know the specials. By the time that we were done eating / drinking to the time we paid and left was more than 35 minutes. Other tables that had a different waitress were in and out by the time we had paid our bill. Always passed by but never went in. Very small inside but it looked pretty quaint and nice. I liked the effort of including craft beers into their fold. Granted, their selection for their beers weren't much (about 10 various domestic and imported 6 packs and bombers) but, their selection seemed to changed with the weather as the focus were on summer styles like wheats and hefeweizens. Service was non-existent as I wasn't approached by any of the employees for as I was looking in the same area for 5-10 minutes, not sure what to get. However, the place was packed and everyone seemed to be very busy so I wasn't too turned off by that. They have the perfect location, being right at a four-way stop, right in the center of town, and next to Finnegan's, which is packed most of the time. Very professional, informative and extremely friendly! I have been coming to Wine and Cheese Tcc for over a year now (I believe Tcc stands for "Two Clueless Chicks"). I not only appreciate their fine cheese selection, which has something for everyone, but I love the wine and beer variety as well. It is always so clean and organized inside, making your experience that much better. Since they now serve actual food, let me tell you... I find that the sandwiches are TO DIE FOR!!!! You can tell that they do not have some guy schlepping the food together. This guy is not even a mere chef. He is an ARTISAN! I came here on a Friday night with my best friend. We needed a nice night to do a lot of catching up and enjoy a glass of wine together. We sat in the front corner on 2 cute modern couches with candles and a very warm atmosphere. It was the perfect spot for us. Our $7.00 glass of Pinot Noir was nice, but a pathetic excuse for a pour. I know the glasses are big, but I watched our server use a plastic wine cup measure the amount, and for a wine shop - I was very disappointed. We saw the pour and thought that we would move on to the next bar rather quickly. We ended up staying a bit longer because the menu was so nice, we had great service, and it was the perfect place for us to talk. The menu was fantastic and overall, I enjoyed the experience. We have been to WnC numerous times. Since meme's in Naperville closed this has been our Sunday go to for Champagne We generally order the cheese board w/ our champagne. They never disappoint and my wife and I have been introduced to new cheeses because of our visits. This past Sunday we decided to go for there Brunch and bubbly. We ordered a nice cava and glass of OJ and made our own mimosas. We shared the egg scrambled and French toast. They were terrific. My only negative would be that the potions were a little small, maybe it's me I'm a big guy, but still delicious. Their location is great and the outside seating is terrific. Every so often, my husband and I both get the "let's have wine and cheese for dinner" craving. Usually we would go run to W&C and take some stuff to go and make our own cheese plate but one Friday we decided to stay there and try the place out. It is very tiny so it does feel like you are right in the center of everything but it bothered me a lot less than I thought it would. Our server was pleasant and it only took a minute for our wine to arrive. They do things a little differently with regards to creating a meat and cheese plate. I believe you pay a charge (maybe $5) and then you pay for each cheese by the ounce or two ounce portion. I think it was around $18 for four meat selections. So when we were done, we had a monster of a plate with four meats and four or five cheeses. Don't worry we took it all down. Our motto is "leave no cheese behind." :) Overall, it was a nice evening. For our meat and cheese selections and four glasses of wine it was around $70. We will return because it is so close to our house and I feel everything we had was of fine quality. My wife and I have been coming here for years and we always love it. We have had everything from sandwiches to soups to large trays of meats and cheeses. All the waiters know their stuff. They can help you with wine and beer selections. Mike was one of the guys that always helped us, not sure he is there now though. Anna is one of the nicest women and she always takes time to ask us about the kids and how things are going. They offer many organic and healthy choices and that is hard to find. I could eat everything in this store! The meats and cheeses are so fresh and flavorful. The staff know how to pair their food with certain wine. They give good recommendations if you're making a cheese/meat tray. They don't try to sell you too much of anything and you can sample the food before you buy. I think this is a great gem in downtown Plainfield and love it for what it is: a quaint location to have a drink or two and some fantastic appetizers. We walked in last Friday and to our dismay the 3 tables they have up front were all reserved. What? We arrived before 5 pm, which we have done before, and there was nowhere to sit and have a drink. The 2 front window seats were also taken, likely because there were no tables available. We were ushered to the rear lounge area, given menus and essentially forgotten about. We walked out and gave our money to a neighboring establishment that gave us a seat immediately. Sorry, Wine & Cheese, I'm not sure how excited I'll be to come back. I really don't believe this location should honor reservation requests. Even up front, the staff member said "sometimes reservations don't show" so why do you even entertain a request to hold tables? Wine & Cheese isn't big enough to do reservations AND seat walk-ins. How much potential business did you lose by turning walk-ins away while those tables were reserved? Might want to re-think the strategy. read more

One of better establishments in the Plainfield area. Started by two gals (hence the name TCC == Two Clueless Chicks), this is nice petite spot, where you can relax, enjoy the fine wine selections, sample different cheeses, be waited on by knowledgeable staff, get a lot of personal attention. They have a European style cafe menu and do lots of wine tasting and samplings quite often. We went here at least once a month for a couple of years and enjoyed ourselves each time. Very reasonably priced. Parking is a bit tight in the general area but is available. Has a nice cozy feel to the place. I recommend the baked brie. The Chef's Cheese and Charcuterie is also a good choice here for appetizers style stuff. The Mac-n-Cheese is often chosen and is plentiful. You may bring your own wine, but there is a corking fee. They do also sell just a few wine accessories and decorations pieces. Limited seating and perhaps a few seats outdoors when the weather is fine. read more

With downtown Plainfield now bursting with the nightlife scene, we have been slowly making our way down Lockport Street to try each of the restaurants. Although this place has been around for many years prior to the downtown renovation, we are only now discovering it. My wife and I enjoyed a cheese platter with a glass of wine. It's a really cozy atmosphere with appropriate background music to match the theme of the restaurant. Also a great craft beer selection for those who aren't into wine. The menu offers some really interesting items, so we will definitely be coming back for a more substantive meal! read more

I had high hopes for this place and had been wanting to try it for a while. I checked out the menu on their website and immediately decided to have my birthday dinner here. The food looked great and I like how there were dishes to share, while there was also more substantial items like sandwiches and panini that I thought the guys in our group would like. But as soon as we got there, it was obvious the menu had been cut in half. The waitress told us that they changed it last week. I know for sure the clams, lobster ravioli, sandwiches, panino, soup, tuffled fries were taken off the menu. (oh and they were out of the mac & cheese!) I was a little taken back that when i made reservations for 8 people, that they couldn't have given me a heads up but I figured they must have changed the menu online since the last time I checked and it was just case of bad luck. Our friend gave us a gift card for this place, and we gave it a go last night. They were having their complimentary wine and cheese tasting, which happens every week on Thursday! The servers were great and very knowledgeable about their products. We tried the Silk Oak Zinfandel and oh my.....one of the most memorable wines that I have had in awhile. So of course we had to get the bottle. We followed that with a delicious Garnacha. Our favorite bites were the "Adult" Mac N Cheese with Bacon and the "stinky" Bleu Cheese. Also the Habanero jam was amazing. The atmosphere was very cozy and inviting. A great place to meet with friends. We loved our server and the gal doing the wine tasting did a great job.
