I am a semi-regular here, and a big fan. My daughter and I visited yesterday for lunch, both enjoying 1/2 soup and sandwich. Food is always fresh and staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, I always let them select artisanal cheeses for me and am impressed and happy with those selections. They introduced me to GUS soda and several very good wines....we just bought a Lynfred Sangria yesterday for my daughter who only enjoys very sweet, fruity wines. After asking a few questions and listening to my daughter, the server brought out wines to taste, making it an experience instead of just a purchase. She has a wine she is happy with instead of a roll of the dice. This is typical of the service at TCC. The interior is small, but this is part of the apppeal to me, on a stressful day, TCC is a little sanctuary of sorts, cozy and friendly. Lastly, it is the perfect place to enjoy a nice summer day. Wine selection is always impeccable. If you have never been there I recommend the wine flights and chef's board to start. They have three wine flights: red, white and sweet. The chef's board includes three cheeses, one meat and comes with nuts, fig preserves and bread. For dinner I would suggest the BLTCC or the Grilled Cheese with tomato and prosciutto dunked in tomato bisque. They have many other selections and their menu is always being updated. They stay up to date with food trends. In the summer they make their own sangria!! YUM! The best part is they take reservations for two! Free wine tastings on too! If you like cheddar cheese order prairie breeze. Asp, the owners are the two sweetest ladies! Feels good knowing my money is going to them when I am there. The staff is also super sweet and great at giving recommendations for wine. If you like Zins: Zynphomaniac is just to die for. If you like sweet wine: order Serena. Whatever your fancy you will find something you like! I love to krder the truffles for dessert as they are the perfect end to the divine time I always have when I am there. read more

This place is so cute and surrounded by a nice downtown area! They have not only wine and cheese but also a nice food menu for lunch or dinner! We ate outside and were able to watch people walking by. It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio and drink wine. We will definitely be back! read more

The new 3 course meal was amazing! We came in with a larger group and had a wonderful time. The first course was a lobster salad over arugula with roasted cherry tomatoes, the second was buffalo short ribs over sweet potato with a veal reduction, and the third was a perfectly done pork belly over heirloom rice with an amazing creamy morel mushroom sauce! Two days and back again! My wife and I went this past Sunday. We had the BLTCC sandwich which was terrific. She enjoyed the cheese sample. The wines were wonderful and the Georgia Pecan Cinnamon Cake was ridiculous. Back on Tuesday and we had the grown up grilled cheese and the hummus. Both were fantastic with a couple glasses of merlot. Atmosphere and staff were excellent. Great place to relax and hang out. May have to wait a little longer to go back. I have been a fan of W&C Tcc for some time now. They've always got a nice selection of cheeses that rotate and change with the seasons and some tasty wines (at a good price). Further more the wine recommendations are usually spot on. Just describe what you're cooking and I usually get a spot on recommendation (Jason there is really helpful with his recommendations). They've recently been getting interested in prosciutto, and have had a nice jamon Serrano (There are almost 2,000 Serrano producers in Spain. So please, if you try one do not assume another one has to taste the same. There can be large differences in quality from one producers to another) Now for the good news. W&C by Tcc has started to carry Iberico bellota paleta (shoulder). If you're not familiar with the Iberico bellota products it is from a very specific breed of pig (the iberian pig) and the bellota products graze on primarily acorns. The result is the highest grade of jamon with a deep complex flavor and a resulting fat that literally melts away in your mouth. I've been traveling up to Chicago to purchase my Iberico ham and I am simply thrilled that a local business has decided to start carrying this product. This is a cute place to have a quick appetizer and drinks or a glass of wine but not for dinner! They microwave the food and the quality is poor. I had shrimp and it was frozen and they tried to thaw it quickly and cook it. I ate one and noticed a bad taste so I did not eat any more however that night I threw up and had a fever ... definitely food poising! They are not properly equipped to serve dinner ... and I paid $$$ for that! read more

I've only ever ordered take out from here and ordered cheese and meat trays for Christmas but I must say every time I've gone in to order its been a pleasant experience and the quality of their stuff it amazing. Whenever I go in I order a cheese plate with a couple of meats. I usually know off the top of my head a couple of the cheeses and meats I want but I always have them pick one or two for me and they are always so good! I can't recall ever having something I didn't like. When I was first starting to really like wine I was pretty overwhelmed when I tried to pick one, they helped me pick a wine based of what I was looking for and it was delish. Based off the other reviews I'm clearly missing out by not having actually dined in so I will defiantly be dragging my husband here very soon! read more

This is easily the best dining spot in downtown Plainfield. The food is great, the wine is spectacular, and the personnel are terrific.

My husband & I stopped in yesterday for the 1st time. We had just walked over from dinner across the street. The waitress immediately greeted us & seated us. It was a little chilly inside and the rain had cleared outside so we asked her to move us to the patio. She was so accomodating about it. We tried the sweet wine flight. The wine was delicious. Our waitress came out to check on us quite a few times, asked which wines we enjoyed the most. When we were done we went inside & told her which we'd like to buy and she promptly showed us where it was. Just a wonderful helpful experience all around. Next time we go I plan on having a meal, the menu looked delicious. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because we haven't tried any food there yet. I went here with a friend for brunch some months ago and meant to write a review. Their bloody Mary was fantastic. The charcuterie board was amazing. That's all we got and we were more than satisfied. It was meals that was so good we just talked about how good it was the whole time and then afterward. Also, the service was friendly. this was my first time going here , having a birthday /wine thing with friends.. i am impressed with the wine selection and the food is very good.... but as i look at my bill there were hidden charges on the cheese platter and i was unhappy with the additional $10 fee to open a bottle with the meal...especially being with a wine club member of theirs... so..will i purchase wine there? um.. no, not at dinner... but i will take it home... btw many of their prices on wine are high to begin with.. then again they are small and trying to survive...the wine tasting was ok,, the pours were so small that i barely got a gulp to figure out if i liked the wine or not... hummmmmmm might not go back there.... read more

Everyone is very informative and very friendly!!! I have been coming to this place for the last couple years and every time has been a great time! The food is excellent! My favorite is their hummus. The service has always been outstanding and everyone is so welcoming that they make you feel like you been friends with them for years. What a pleasant surprise! Four of us came here and were happy with our experience. Our waitress was so friendly and accommodating. We each did a wine flight, both white and red, and we all loved our selections. The food choices were diverse and delicious. We had the flatbread, salmon platter, and bruschetta. The desserts, however, get mixed reviews. We had the small chocolate mousse (can't remember the actual name), and the cinnamon cake, and those were great. We had the blue cheese cheesecake, which is an interesting concept, but the tastes didn't mesh well, in my opinion. Everything else was fantastic, and we've recommended it to many people and have since been back. read more

The owner is usually there and makes a point to say hello to everyone. It makes you feel very welcome. We love the Thursday and Saturday wine tastings. This is a wonderful wine shop with a small selection of unique wines. Spend an afternoon or summer evening on the patio and order some cheese and bread. Awesome Brie with raspberry spread. For lunch or dinner, the tomato bisque and grilled cheese are absolutely top notch. Wine prices and food are reasonable. Limited seating inside. Reserve the front or back booths ahead. Added benefit is their beer and/or wine club. I have never had a bad bottle. The owner is typically in The store. They also have an annual wine tasting in September. Not to miss! I went here last week and purchased a piece of cheese to take home. The inside was suppose to be creamy and runny. It was extremely hard. I had asked for Stilton but the people working there had no idea what that was, Further more I was told they like to stock lesser know types of cheese. Yet they had Bleu Cheese and Brie. This place is amazing- you just found a gem! It's hard to find quality food and a selection of organics in the suburbs. This place has it all. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is unbelievable! Everything on the menu I've tired so far has been surprisingly delicious- I would describe it as unique combinations with layers of flavor. Whoever came up with the menu has a great talent for pairing food combinations. There are plenty of truly healthy choices on the menu. You can tell only the finest quality ingredients are being used with organic options too. And what a great wine selection! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience. This spot is a secret; even to folks that live nearby. Its been around 11 years and with good reason. Everything is hand made and fresh, including soups. The gourmet sandwiches use great ingredients, are put together well (THANKS, Rachel!!!!!) and the hostesses have been very friendly. Only later did I reveal im also a small business worker in the area. But it made no difference, They were treating everyone well and I was watching. The charcuterie plates are nice ini that you can add stuff a la carte to them. The take home cheeses, pate's, and olives are yummy. I will keep coming back. Nice to have met Anna the owner and talking about how the market is perking up with the latest infusion of gourmet businesses in Plainfield. Wine and Cheese by TCC opened at the exact same time that I moved to Plainfield. I was so excited to have a little wine store in my new home town that I immediately went there and have been going back ever since. Not only is this a great place to get a glass of wine or beer, but the menu is constantly evolving and I've never had a bad meal. But, what really has kept me coming back for 6 years is the fact that the staff has a knack for picking outstanding wines that are available at a very reasonable price. They find so many great wines for $10-$20 and offer food pairing suggestions for each one that you leave knowing you have made a good purchase. On top of that, their wine club offers more great selections at a great price! All around, my favorite wine store. read more
