    Garlic Bree bites

Cozy wine bar with small plates and tapas. Friendly staff, but only 2 I saw working so when it gets packed they are very busy serving everyone and it can take a while. Wine list had a variety and catered to the non wine drinkers with some bubbly and sweet wines. They also had beer on tap. Garlic bre was very yummy, warm and hit the spot. The cheese board was good, maybe a tad overpriced for what you get. Live music on a Friday night was perfect! So fun and the room was full by 9pm so we are glad we called ahead to reserve a table!

Cute vibe. Small wine selection. Very personable. If you're wanting food with your wine.. come earlier. Live music is offered on Friday nights and it's self seating. It was also nice to catch the game too.

We love the meat lovers flatbread!

Attended my first virtual wine tasting at Wine Me Up with San Rucci Winery! So awesome! I had no idea how it was going to work, and none of my friends had ever done this either. Wine Me Up totally made it work - how ingenious and wonderful it was! Wine Me Up created a wine tasting kit of a superb selection of 5 wines in cute little reusable mini mason jars that we picked up the day of the event for a super easy, virtually no contact pick up. As soon as we pulled up front of Wine Me Up, Michele came rushing out with our baskets which she placed lovingly in the back seat of our car. I'm a wine member, so the $30 charge for the kit was just placed on the credit card they have on file for me. If you aren't a member, you can purchase thru Eventbrite. The tasting kit is enough for 2, and I bought two kits. I invited some friends, the big drinker canceled, the one friend who wanted to come watch doesn't drink, so Nick and I each had a kit to ourselves. A total win, win! They did say "you can have one kit all to yourself, we won't judge" lol It was very cool having the opportunity to "meet" the wonderful winemakers / Owners of the San Rucci Winery, Anthony Merz located owned here in Bakersfield... There was a lot of opportunity to ask questions of the owners who were very knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. Their wines were amazing. My favorite was the Rose, Nick's was the Benvenuta - a blend of 90% Muscat, and 10% Chardonnay. We both really liked the Cabernet Frank. A helpful detailed information sheet for each of the wines poured was provided. There were also three giveaways / drawings for cool prizes. We didn't win, but...next time. I actually thought it was so cool getting to do this at home. I tried to set up a fancy spread, brought out the nice glasses, "lit" the candles. I got a nice ice bucket in which I placed the whites and rose tastings. In Lulu fashion on our way home from the kit pick up, we stopped by Tahoe Joes and got a family dinner, spread out some special fancy cheeses, and had on hand an extra bottle of wine that we had gotten from Wine Me Up. So we had PLENTY. My friend took a lot of pictures.... The mini mason jars are really CUTE, and I just finished washing them, and I intend to use them to make little candles. I miss going to the live person tastings, and hearing the live music. . . However, I really give Wine Me Up credit for being so creative and presenting such an amazing experience. Thank you Michele!

This place is walking distance from my apartment and I went for the first time today and I'm so glad I did! My partner and I went for a 'wines that pair well with chocolate cake' tasting today for National chocolate cake day. I did not know that was a thing but I am a fan! We booked the day before and arrived at 7pm. The place was relatively busy and we were shown to our table quickly and it was already set up. We each got 3 pours of red wine for the tasting with a slice of chocolate cake. The wine was delicious, as was the cake. But I travel to Paso Robles and Napa quite a bit to visit wineries and it's customary to receive 4-5 pours so 3 seemed less for the price. That would be my one note. I think they can go for 4 pours. I opted to get a glass of Chardonnay after the tasting and the caprese flatbread. The flatbread was fairly basic but a good companion to the wine. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I'll be back for more events.

Recently attended an event for a Tobin James wine tasting event. It was a good deal of $20 a person that included snacks and a reserve tasting. It was a good deal. The place was a full house and the staff did their best to give good service. We also ordered a bottle of the Tobin Cab reserve which was delicious. I had a good time and would definitely return. If you're new to wine, this would be a fun way to learn without leaving town. Place is cute and super clean. The space is small but they have made the most of their space. Definitely worth trying if you've never been.

This is such a fun little wine place to hang out with a few friends! We had the wine sampler and cheese platter combo and it was a great deal. We were able to sample 4 delicious wines that I really enjoyed. The cheese platter was a lot smaller than I anticipated so it was more like a mini appetizer. Next time I'll just order a full size cheese platter. I did feel very uncomfortable when I walked in as customers just stared at us as if we were out of place but after a while I felt more comfortable.

This is a great spot in the NW to enjoy some wine and tasty snacks. I've been to 3 tasting events here, and all were fun.

I've come to this little wine spot for years and have always thought it was a fun place to hang out; I'm looking forward to Thursday night wine tasting events.

Get the evening started right! Wine and snacks!

Had snacks and wine for a great start to the evening. There was live music scheduled and the place filled up days. Casual atmosphere with a great selection of wine!

Wonderful Merlot tasting while watching Sideways!

Looking at other reviews, I feel some are a little unfair. Many are regarding the previous owner and their employees. Garrett and Michelle (the current owners since 2015) are some of the sweetest people ever! My friends and I are frequenters of their wine events. For about 20-25 dollars, you can have some small bites and a wonderful wine tasting. The wineries vary by week. Lisa and Tami are wonderful as well. All in all, we love it here! I hope that the stars and previous reviews will not discourage people from enjoying a super fun place!

Perfect casual wine bar. I wanted a place to relax with a bottle of wine on a Friday night. My husband and I were able to come and enjoy bottles of wine and a VERY reasonable price as well as delicious appetizers. The steak tips with blue cheese and arugula was perfect, we also got caprese pesto flatbread that was tasty, they had live music too-saxophone and drums. The patio was parfait, thank you so much for the great customer service and food all at great prices.

Jeremy led an exceptional class focused on Portuguese wines, taking us on a journey through the country's diverse wine regions. Rather than simply tasting wines, he dove into the history, terroir, and winemaking techniques behind each pour. I especially enjoyed learning how wines are aged and preserved using stainless steel, oak, and even cement barrels. The discussion about cement barrels was completely new to me and ended up being one of the most fascinating parts of the evening. The class was held in Campo's side room, which was spacious and filled with beautiful natural light. It created a relaxed, intimate ambiance that was perfect for learning, asking questions, and enjoying the wines without feeling crowded. To accompany the tasting, we were served delicious canned tuna seasoned with paprika alongside locally made kettle chips from Moo Creamery, located just down the street. The pairing was simple but thoughtful, allowing the Portuguese wines to remain the star while showcasing another great local business. Jeremy has a gift for making wine approachable and engaging, whether you're a novice or a seasoned wine enthusiast. I left with a much deeper appreciation for Portuguese wines, plenty of new knowledge, and excitement to attend another class. If this first tasting is any indication, I'll definitely be back for many more.

They also have a few NA wines for the designated driver :) Their light bite menu is also excellent- I love the beans, but am excited to try their version of fish and chips (sardines and potato crisps). On friday and saturday evenings they ususally have a talented musician or two playing to set the mood, they have a few patio seats outside on cooler evenings in Bakersfield, and best of all, the staff are the sweetest and most fashionable women I know. If you go when the market is open, check it out, especially if you're putting together a gift basket for someone. They also have a wine club and all sorts of other things to participate in, so definitely follow them on instagram if you fall in love with this place like I did. Love you guys!

My husband commented that it made him want to move to Bakersfield which made our server Emily laugh. Limited parking in back and some street parking. We walked in without a reservation at 11:15 on a Friday and were the first customers of the day. Great decor, dim lighting, vintage looking furniture which does not sacrifice comfort for artistry. Our cocktails and meals were spectacular: Botanist Fashioned: 5/5-the brown sugar cinnamon syrup added a spicy bite to each sip which was unexpected and fun. Watermelon Sugar High:4/5-refreshing with watermelon juice freshly made in house and an ice cube with mint frozen in it. Seared cauliflower: 4/5-great appetizer for 2. The crispy chicken sandwich and the Botanist smash burger:5/5-Both had super flavorful pickles and toasted buns which always add a lovely crunch to each bite. It was nice to try Benjis and change things up after not having been there for a while. One of the biggest differences at Benji's is that their set up does not include spaghetti, so it needs to be ordered separately. That's one of my favorite parts of the set up so it's a must for me! The restaurant seemed pretty full but service was quick and friendly. I don't know why, but I wanted to try the duck. I have never in my life had duck and I am a very picky person when it comes to meat. There were two options for the duck: orange sauce or a yellow peppercorn. I asked the waitress for her input for a first timer and she said bith are good and both are ordered often. I went with her favorite which was the orange. I have to say, I was very pleased with it! The sauce had a nice, sweet, citrus flavor and it wasn't too overpowering. I had always heard that duck was an oily meat but I didn't feel like it was too oily or greasy at all. The flavor was like the dark meat on a Thanksgiving turkey. I was too excited to try it and forgot to take a photo of the whole meal, so that's why my picture of my food is half gone already. When I go back to Benji's, I will definitely try the peppercorned duck. It was definitely worth it.
