I came here yesterday and was first in line. Glad I went when I did because the line stacked up pretty quick. Very friendly service. The food is super filling I ate half for lunch and ate the other half for dinner. It's made hot and fresh to eat and the patties are THICK, a lil dry but it's well done. Not sure if you can ask for medium well? [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is takeout only. There is no seating inside or outside and the inside is a lil tight but you're only in there to order your food and then you wait outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Try it and give your own opinion.

I know I'm late to try out this Wingfield's Burgers.. I came across them on social media, so i decided to give them a try. This place is what you might call a hole in the wall type of place. I ordered myself a Bacon cheeseburger with French fries. Right of the bay after opening the burner I was shocked at the size of that patty. The meat has some great flavor but just a bit over cooked for my taste. The fries are not bad also, the seasoning they put on them just gives it a great taste. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself is pretty small. There's actually no place to eat inside it. It's just like you order to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I know this place has been open for a very long time and has its history in Dallas "Oakcliff" area.

There's no possible way to eat this in one setting. Not sure why anyone would be able to eat a double bcus this single is humongous. Fast service and tasty food.

A small but popular takeout burger spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't expect any bells and whistles.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I go once a year on average. I've yet to find another place that gets close to what a homemade burger tastes like. The patties a very thick and the meat is seasoned. If that's not your thing, sit this one out. Also, I used to call ahead trying to avoid the inevitable long wait, but there's no way around waiting at least 20-30 minutes. So, I ordered once I got there.

    JUICY Double Meat Cheesburger

My nephew was SHOCKED at how huge and juicy the burger was, and even though they were super busy the service was AMAZING

Okay the burgers are big and juicy! The are seasoned well! Definitely in my top 20 burger places I have been in. They are cooked to order. So, no matter if you call in give your payment information, your burger will not be done when you get there. The onion rings are greasy. This is why I didn't give a four or five. Why am I calling in and you aren't cooking my food? It is crowded. Please don't think you are coming in and sitting down. Please don't think the service will be fast. Leave your attitude at the door. The barstools are for show. It also is hotter than fish grease on the inside. The staff is friendly and I know with all those people coming in they are tired.

The Dallas book depository on Elm just for the heck of it. Bit of D towns history.

The neighborhood may continue to change around it, but Chip's remains the same. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Chip's has an old school, nostalgic feel. The restaurant has an iconic sloping roof with a yellow outdoor exterior and a big green sign with its logo. Inside, there are plenty of booths, a bar, and even outdoor seating. Chip's has grown and expanded over the years but to me that adds to the nostalgic charm. 1 Star. Service - Chip's may have invented counter service. Upon entering, you look at the menu posted on the wall and place your order. You'll get a number (or they'll ask for your name), and you grab a table, and when your food is ready it comes out. Fast, efficient, and the staff was super friendly. 1 Star. Food - Chip's is known for its poppy seed hamburger buns. While it's pretty and tasty, the most important part, the patty, is pretty average. Honestly, there are many other great burger joints in Dallas. On the other hand, the fried onion strings are a must order for your side. While I wasn't a fan of the burger, the fried onion strings saved my meal. The Oreo and Fresh Banana shakes were also a nice cold, creamy, sweet ending to my meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I hope Chip's never changes. The restaurant has an iconic look, it's part of Dallas history, and the staff is great. 1 Star.

Just straight up classic counter service and I was happy for it. The reason I take off one star is because I ordered the turkey burger, but when the chef brought it out he said "here's your chicken burger". So I'm not actually sure what I ate, but I'm also okay with that. It's kinda like a pick your path you know? Anyway I'd definitely go back. Super tasty and the bun was great. The fries were great. The fried pickles were great. Just vibes and love.

We ordered the fried mushrooms to start, and they were so hot that one of us severely burned her lower gums on them. Seriously! A prescription from the dentist was sought; mea culpa but damn. Once they were less volcanic, they were good. We split a burger with fried onions, and it was dry. The meat was overbooked, the bun was over toasted, and the whole thing needed plenty of beer to go down smoothly. The fries are fine, and we did appreciate that they had some steamed broccoli on the menu. Our daughter was happy with her kids cheeseburger meal, and she did like the chocolate-caramel malt shake she scored at the end. A main reason that we're landing on three stars is the ice cream situation. One of us ordered a soft serve vanilla, and nobody told her that the machine was down, so what she got instead was a cup of half melted Blue Bell soup...are you kidding! Thanks for the prompt refund, but letting your customer know what the situation is in advance goes a long way. So, we tried it. Add a notch to the Dallas belt. We wish them well, but we won't be returning. There are better burgers in DFW.

It does have an old vibe to it with the people go to you to order the food. There are many cars outside and was worried that it would take awhile. The servers come to you and you order through their tablet. I had to take a minute, but you have to make sure you have your blinkers on and they will come to you. I ordered the following #5 Special with bacon #1 The best burger and then the cheese fries I got the order within 10 minutes and did not take too long. Once they deliver the food to you, I paid through credit card and then you can tip them so I gave them an 18% tip as they were nice and serve the food to me. The food is very messy and oily so make sure you bring some hand sanitizer. They packed in a lot of napkins as well. The burger itself was just alright, was a little cold for me though so not so sure how long it was waiting. The lettuce and tomato was a little on the soggy side. The meat itself was just alright. When I ate it, I did not experience the wow factor. I can not complain about the price however. Overall, I rather go to Inn-n-out, but I am glad I got one of the places to try in Dallas out of the way.
