I tried mix bowl recently bc I had a work training in the area. Wow this place exceeded my expectations. The name of the restaurant didn't lend me to think it would be Thai food. But I was very wrong!! The pad Thai was very good and so generously portioned. I was able to have two meals from my plate. The service was friendly as well. There are also a decent amount of tables so good amount of seating for smaller groups.

6/22/26 My daughter and I have been here before a few times. I was quite surprised I hadn't reviewed here yet. The food here has been great! Table Service when eating inside has been good. It's a very clean place inside and outside. On this occasion, we order some items to-go to share to eat at home. We called in advance about 9:15 pm and let them know we would be here about 9:35 pm ashleyisthebest they close at 10 pm. We got the cashew nut chicken which also had green/red peppers and white rice. Love this dish! We also split the order of 4 veggie egg rolls. They were so good! Love the light orange dipping sauce they give with it. To drink, we had a that iced tea. We will be back. Plenty of parking in their own lot. Come give them a try!

    Insane amount of chili.

Ordered Pad See Ew and Pad Kee Mao Spaghetti. Their Pad See Ew was incredibly salty and their Pad Kee Mao was so spicy too the point it was practically inedible. The Thai chili seeds were dispersed throughout the dish. So sad ):

Today,I tried their new dish...Thai basil eggplant .For those who are vegetarian,I highly recommend this dish. Its so good.Of course you can add your choice of protein.

Came here on a Tuesday night around 8, it wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. We ordered our usual which was padsee ew, padthai and pineapple fried rice. We also ordered pork skewers for the kids. Everything was great, service was good, food came out quickly, filled our waters without asking etc. Food was also very delicious, my kids loved the pork skewers. Auto gratuity was added at 15%.. It was just my family, 2 adults and 4 little kids... Not sure why it was automatically added to our bill.. then they also asked for tip on top of that.. didn't sit with me well.. other than that, everything was good.

Second time coming here. Service was good. Food was delicious. The only reason why I took a star away is because my friend and I got the runs afterwards. We both ordered the shrimp tum yum soup. I had also ordered their veggie noodles to go. Had that for lunch the next day, and also gave me the runs.....idk if I dare to go back....

My family has had Mix Bowl in the past and always enjoy their food. We decided to for a small road trip and have it for dinner. They are located in Pomona on Indian Hill Blvd. Parking should not be an issue, but depending in the time of day in my personal opinion. We get there and we had to wait for us to be seated. The staff member took us to our seat and gave us the menu. Since we knew what we wanted, we ordered: Thai Iced Tea, Pad Thai, Side of steam white rice, Combination Fried Rice and Beef Pad-See-Ewe. Pad Thai comes with: Small rice noodle stir fried with egg, choice of protein, bean sprouts, and green onions. Combination Fried Rice comes with: Fried rice with onion, tomato, egg, chicken, squid, and Shrimp. Pad-See-Ewe comes with: Flat rice noodle scrambled with egg, black soy sauce and Chinese broccoli (choice of beef, chicken or pork. While we were waiting for our order, I was looking at the ambiance on inside and I like that it has a lot of light, especially at night. It's a small restaurant that feels warm and cozy When our order was coming, I could smell and taste the freshness. More importantly, the dishes were hot as soon as they were prepared. Love and enjoyed the combination of flavors and the Thai Tea was just the right drink to top it off. Our overall experience was great and the service received was good. In my personal opinion, I would recommend Mix Bowl Cafe, if you are looking for some good and affordable Thai Food. They also take orders for pick up as well. We definitely will be back.

    Spicy Catfish. My favorite.

It's been a while since I was here last. The food and customer service is still great as it was. My sister's and I enjoyed our time. The food was delicious. My favorite is the Spicy Catfish. We also ordered seafood fried rice, shrimp Tom Yum Goong, Pad-see-ewe, and several food to-go for my nephews. My sister was very happy with her water being refilled. Lol. Thank you. The place has definitely had some upgrade and the space looks good inside and outside parking lot had some improvement. Thank you to the server who took our order, and Isala for an excellent service making sure we had everything we needed.

The service here is really good, I've been going here since I was little and the food is just as good as I remember very flavorful and I love their chili sauces. The papaya salad is my favorite item here. The decor is a little outdated but I feel like it fits the place, it's very nostalgic.

    15. Wonton Soup , kid loved it.

I had the spicy yellow curry as I've been craving it for a while. I can honestly say it was very tasty. I added some chili for that extra punch and I was in heaven. The ambiance was relaxing as the colorful walls and lighting adds a touch of fun to the night. Service was great . Not too talkative but ready to take your order and service your needs . It's been a while since I ate here and I am definitely coming back to dive into other dishes as I have not been disappointed. In area stop on by and grab a dish of your liking, Recommend It.

We order chicken fried rice, the rice smells bad spoiled, we complain and they bring it back to kitchen, but return the Same dish, no apologies just it is what it is.

05/24/26 Sunday…read more Stars: 4.5/5 Our friends booked this venue for their wedding reception. Sea Queen has a restaurant side and a banquet hall side. We had the banquet hall side and it was able to accommodate 200 guests. They had the place set up early and allowed the wedding party to come in advance to drop off drinks, decor, etc. They allowed us to bring food and alcohol. They also prepaid for drinks from the bar so folks could order from a bartender. Only a few dishes were ordered (since there was other food from an outside catering vendor) and I only got to try it after it was cold so I can't give a wholistic review on the food they serve, but I really liked the leaf wrapped beef with Banh Hoi (vermicelli sheet) and the mango salad! My one complaint is the women's bathroom. Two (out of 3) of the stalls can't lock so the girls had to help each other hold the doors closed. However, it was mostly clean and had toilet paper in stock. +They offer takeout containers for leftovers from the party. +Very kind and accommodating staff. They cleared some tables to create more space on the dance floor. +Parking is plentiful.

When we first walked in, the place looked empty, and my wife and I almost considered leaving. Just as we were about to head out, a server came over, seated us, and explained the menu. The $45 menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes such as escargot (ốc), pho, and bò né (Vietnamese sizzling beef steak), among many others. We ordered escargot with tamarind sauce, oysters with cheese, a lobster special, rau muống (water spinach) with garlic, glass noodles, and a ribeye steak. This isn't a typical buffet--each dish is cooked to order. It took about 15 minutes since there were only two chefs, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. The lobster was a whole lobster with claws, and the ribeye was a generous cut served sizzling at the table. The portions are large, and our server kindly warned us ahead of time--we're glad we listened! The owner was friendly, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. My wife and I loved this place and will definitely be coming back. It's great to have quality Vietnamese food nearby without having to travel all the way to OC.

The flavor and seafood were absolutely on point. My group of five ordered the Snow Star Family Bucket with Full House sauce, and everything came out fresh, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. Portions were solid and we all left very full and very satisfied. If I had to nitpick: The mild Full House sauce was a little spicy for something labeled "mild." Still tasty, just a heads-up for anyone sensitive to heat. The fried calamari was good flavor-wise, but it was a bit light on calamari and heavy on fries. Small side note: my wife and I love having boiled eggs with our seafood boil, but unfortunately they don't offer boiled eggs here. Not a deal-breaker, just something we personally missed. Overall though, great food, great service, and a spot I'd happily come back to again. Easily our favorite Star Crab so far.

They provided us menus, pretty straightforward; choose seafood, add sides for an extra cost, choose the flavor, and the spice level. One thing not noted on the menu is that shrimp isn't peeled, but they can peel them for an extra $6. And each order comes in pound increments. No half a pound offered. Your table is also covered with paper so you can eat the seafood boil from there. They provide bibs and gloves for no charge. Ultimately, we enjoyed our meals. Everything was flavorful and, unlike some other seafood boil spots, it didn't leave us feeling like we had heartburn afterward. There's a little sink for you to clean your hands at, which is nice since you dont have to wait for the restroom to empty. The service is what was a bit off. Like we asked for 3 Cajun fry boats but only received 2. Drinks were mixed up, and the clam chowder didn't arrive until about 20 minutes after our seafood bags had already been delivered. If you want ranch for your fries, they charge 60 cents for a small container. For drink refills, they bring a pitcher, but it's the kind typically used for measuring ounces. The server also tended to reach across one end of the table to grab empty cups or pass out food. Since I was seated at the end, it felt awkward having to help pass things down, especially since there were other access points to reach people in our party. We left around 920pm. I only mention it because we were the last group there, and we all noticed the heater seemed to have been turned on. Restaurant sign says open til 10pm on Sat. but we saw them turn off their open sign when we went outside. Needless to say, service could have been better.

The gumbo was easily the star of the meal. The sauce itself was incredibly rich, deeply savory, and immediately reminded me of the food I've had in New Orleans. I honestly don't have an elaborate critique of it. It was simply delicious. My only thought was that I wanted even more seafood in every spoonful, so next time I'm adding extra crab or shrimp. I wasn't sure what to expect from the frog legs, but they ended up being one of my favorite dishes. The batter was light and crispy, while the meat was delicate and mild, somewhere between chicken and fish, without much gaminess. I could have easily eaten an entire plate of them. We finished the meal with the croissant beignets and bread pudding. The beignets were crisp, dusted with powdered sugar, and served with a berry purée that balanced the sweetness nicely. As good as they were, the bread pudding blew them away for me. The warm bread pudding with bourbon sauce, ice cream, and strawberries was easily my favorite dessert of the night. Our waiter also overheard that it was my birthday and surprised me with complimentary ice cream, which was a thoughtful touch. Probably the best compliment I can give The Quarter is this. I'm willing to drive an hour to Claremont on a Saturday night, hunt for parking, and deal with the crowds of college kids just to come back for another bowl of that gumbo.
