Love this place! We got to try it recently due to a gift card from a friend and we can't wait to go back! You get in line first thing, and they really stress not sitting at tables until you order to keep the line moving and spots available for everyone. The system works pretty well as they seem to have the timing worked out well that by time you wait in line, get your order taken, and pay you can find a table and your food comes out quickly. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The place is bright and cheery with a variety of table options plus a few small outside tables. You pay at the counter and get a number before you sit. In addition to great breakfast options, they also have a delicious looking pastry case that I wish we saved room for. Baklava rice krispees, cookies, muffins, all looked fantastic. They also have a very good hibiscus tea and coffee options. We got a bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwich with a side of grits and the sausage gravy and biscuit with potatoes. Both were very good and we really enjoyed the sausage gravy. The potatoes were also perfectly cooked and seasoned. We can't wait to try it again! read more

I was so excited to be able to enjoy a gluten free biscuit sandwich! They even took the extra steps to ensure that my potato side dish was also prepared GF. This is such a cute spot on and the staff was extremely friendly. We had to wait a few minutes for a table to open up but were able to snag a cup of coffee and tea on the couch. The line was outside the door around 9:45 Saturday morning. It was completely worth the wait. We each had make your own breakfast sandwich - the homemade sausage was great, the biscuits were the perfect consistency to stand up to a breakfast sandwich. I'm always skeptical of a "biscuit" in PA - but this was perfect texture, taste, and size. Great coffee too! Lives up to the hype. The restaurant is so cute and cozy. We went on a Wednesday at around 1:30 and it was pretty packed so i'm assuming weekends they get a rush. Biscuits were perfect, not too flaky where they fall apart and so moist. Definitely recommend the fried chicken sandwich and the biscuits and gravy. Any place that offers heavy cream on request with coffee is tops with me. That said, the coffee is good, the grits are outstanding, and the biscuits are to die for. At first glance, the prices for breakfast seem high ($14 for the two egg breakfast), but the amount of food and the quality of the same makes it well worth the price. The day is finally here! Wise County officially opened their brick & mortar cafe in Allegheny West. I've been a fan for a while from seeing them at Farmers Markets around town. The buttermilk biscuits here are phenomenal, and I'm sucker for a bacon egg & cheese which I ordered today. The side of potatoes was also perfectly crispy and well-seasoned. The new cafe has everything customers are used to from the Farmer's Market (fresh and frozen biscuits, etc.) but has an awesome expanded menu with a larger selection of homestyle breakfasts, lunch options and sides (personally very excited for grits as a partial southerner who can't find them many places in town). They're carrying de fer coffee which is also a win. There's a selection of other takeaway items including pimento cheese, sausage gravy, and other local goods such as raw honey and country ham. If you're in a rush, there are pastries and plain biscuits to-go. There's plenty of seating including tables, counter seats and a comfy couch & chairs. This is such an amazing and welcome addition to the Northside. I have no doubt they will be wildly successful. read more

Amazing! I've heard great things about this place for awhile and was finally able to try it last month. We went at a bit of an off time (around 10:30) so there wasn't a wait for tables or a long wait for food. It was a little bit of a challenge to find parking (it is street parking) but our walk wasn't that bad. We grabbed menus and then a seat while we decided what to order. Once you decide, you order and pay at the counter (but they do deliver your food to your table). There are a variety of seating openings (counter, tables/chairs and more casual couch/chairs). I like that there are breakfast and lunch options. There are some menu options that are only available after 11. We ordered a biscuit with homemade jam, a create your own sandwich and some of the doughnut bites. Everything was crazy fresh and delicious! Definitely one of my favorite breakfasts I've had in recent memory. We loved everything about our experience and are eager to go back and try something different! read more

My girlfriend and I recently found this little cafe on the North Side of Pittsburgh. We were looking for a light breakfast and this place certainly didn't disappoint. The staff is rude and unaccommodating to families. I was with my sister, brother-in-law, and baby niece. They refused to allow us to save a table while one of us waited in line to order food. I had only ever been to this place when it was a pop-up kitchen at the farmers market. I am SO FREAKIN HAPPY that is a actual location now! So, you walk in and order/pay first then have a seat. Waiting for our food after ordering we noticed the line can get long and some people had to wait. I can see why some people mentioned it in previous reviews being an issue, but I NEVER mind waiting for great food. So, I don't mind that but definitely something to note if you hate waiting. We got a couple different things. Chicken and biscuit breakfast sandwich was so good! The biscuits are some of the softest and most flavorful in the city! The chicken was moist, super tasty and fresh! I did a build your own with bacon, scrambled eggs and pimento cheese. SPECTACULAR! Bacon was delicious and crispy, eggs were plentiful and tasty and the pimento cheese *chefs kiss*. Side of potatoes, crispy, hot, flavorful. Grits were amazing, they had body and flavor. They needed a little salt, but I liked that they didn't over season the grits. Alot of places are hit or miss with that. We also got the cinnamon sugar bits and those were served, fresh and warm and absolutely addictive! I could take a bucket home and be completely content with life! The cherry on top was the sourdough brownie. I never had a sourdough brownie before and it knocked my freaking socks off! Like, WOW. So decadent, so thick and fudgy and amazing. One of, if not the best brownie I have ever purchased. *ALSO, their water did not taste like crap. I feel that this is something that should be noted in reviews. I usually avoid drinking water in restaurants because it's usually tap or super weird tasting. Their water was not bad. I feel like it needs to be noted lol. I am boujie with my drink options lol. All in all, I LOVED this place! Parking is just regular Pittsburgh Street parking. Anyone that complains about it, is not a Pittsburgher lol. I said what I said. Come in early and you'll have your pick of all the seating options! I was in about 815, ordered immediately, and my food was out in less than 10 minutes. I had the green eggs & ham sandwich and a biscuit with strawberry jam on the side. The sandwich wasn't spicy at all. Don't be deterred by the fact that it says it has hot sauce on it. They're very light with it, but each table does have a bottle of hot sauce, if you need to add more. The greens added a nice flavor to the sandwich. The biscuit definitely leans dense. I would love it if it was just a tad fluffier. The biscuit with strawberry jam is a great combo, though. The salty & sweet pair perfectly and the jam is so seedy. They have a case full of baked goods and I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to buy all of them. The bathroom was super clean and the staff friendly. The entire cafe was spotless and bright. I stopped in for something to eat between my college classes. Super walkable from ccac. I didn't know what to expect but it was a great experience. Everything is super clean, the place was packed but I was there around 12-1 so prime lunch time I guess. I got the hibiscus tea which was very good, and not too bitter or too sweet. My wife and I decided to check this spot out on a whim while in the north side and we were not disappointed! Street parking was a bit difficult, but once we found a spot, we realized it was worth the effort. Cool coffee shop vibe. Order at counter and food is delivered to your table. My wife ordered a sausage and egg biscuit and I had the "brunch" special which was a burger with an over medium egg, pickles, onions, and bacon jam on homemade bread. Both were awesome. Coffee was good. Entire menu was priced reasonably. Seating can be difficult, but if patient, seating for 4 is not an issue. Larger parties may have issues. We will be back soon to try the chicken and hot honey biscuit and sausage gravy biscuits next time. read more

Nice, welcoming atmosphere and for a small place, lots of tables. I ordered the Biscuit with country ham and the two eggs with ham and grits Plate. The bisquit came first and my friend and I shared. We were both delightfully surprised by the delicious flakiness of the biscuit and salty, mouthwatering flavor of the ham! I wanted to applaud. Both of us being pretty good home cooks, we are hard to please! Next came the poached eggs, ham and grits. Although the egg was a bit overcooked, the combo tasted delicious! Egg, creamy grits and salty ham, yum! I drove 21 miles to check out this place, and I felt it was well worth the trip. The pastries in the case looked delicious and were made today, no frozen stuff here but we saved some calories and didn't indulge. On street pay parking and it was super easy to find. The best thing about walking through these doors is the welcoming atmosphere! They are truly happy that walked in and chose to spend your time and money here. It is a walk up counter order system which is fine because they have servers walking around and refilling coffees, offering water and Togo boxes. We visited pre Steeler game. It was busy but the line, ordering, service was all handled so well that it was extremely enjoyable. The food was delicious and I can't wait to return. First off biscuits are absolutely delicious! And most important to me they have a gluten free biscuit !!! As I have celiac.However very disappointing that I wanted jam or jelly for my biscuit and didn't offer that around the Christmas holidays?? They only offered pumpkin butter, and a few other non traditional choices! Which I'm sure were good but not sure about being gluten free.How can you not offer a fruit spread along with your other spreads ?? We had planned to order breakfast there along with purchasing frozen biscuits to go! Because unable to get jam/ jelly for my biscuits we only got our frozen biscuits and left. While getting the biscuits out of the freezer I noticed on the shelf above were jars of strawberry jam. The girl taking the orders should have said we don't have any fruit spreads but there are some on the shelf there to purchase!! Not very accommodating. I would have had no problem doing that since I drove 45 minutes to get a gluten free biscuit that I thoroughly enjoy! Instead My husband and I left hungry and drove home and then had to wait another 25 minutes to bake it!
