Fun little shop tucked away just off of Western Ave in the Northside. Super walkable area with fun architecture that this restaurant has leaned into and made their own. The different copper baking dishes on the wall are interesting and make for a nice backdrop when coming up to the counter to order. I've been trying to come here for several months now but just never got down in time before the 2:30pm closing time. I finally made a special mid-morning trip and got the fried chicken biscuit. The size of the biscuit and chicken breast was reasonable but not overwhelming so I'd augment with sides or drinks if you're coming hungry. Get here early, but even if you have to wait....it is worth it. The biscuits are so fluffy and the sausage gravy is better than anything I've ever had (even in the south)! I've been to this place before and already done a review. If you've never been, obviously the biscuits are fantastic and you must try them. But I'm just popping on to do a quick review on the cinnamon sugar biscuit bites, and the yogurt parfait. It should be no surprise that the cinnamon sugar biscuit bites were delightful. But what absolutely blew me away was the yogurt parfait. It was incredible and I have been dreaming about it ever since I had it. The yogurt was thick and creamy, there were nuts, granola, honey, and even some mint on top which added a unique flavor. I can't wait to go back and have another one. read more

We finally got to try Wise County Cafe after impatiently waiting for its opening. It did not disappoint. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Great service in a cute place. Loved all the nice touches on the wall to give it a homey feel. You wait in line to order and they bring the food to your table. We went at 10am on Sat. There were only a few people in life and at tables. My husband and I waited in line and my mom got us a table. There are also seats at the counter and a little waiting g area. Now to the food. My husband had his usual bacon and egg biscuit that is consistently delicious. He got grits either them but felt they were a bit dense. My mom and I really enjoyed the crispy crunchy side of potatoes and fried chicken biscuit. The biscuits are always great especially with honey. Definitely come check them out. I loved my visit to the Wise County Biscuits cafe! I went on a cold Sunday morning a few weeks ago with family, and we thankfully arrived before there was too long of a line. The space is cute, cozy, and well-appointed! They have you wait in line to order your meal at the counter, and once you've ordered, you can choose an available table in the dining area. Food and drink were quick to arrive, so it's a pretty brief wait time! I tried the 2 Egg Breakfast with scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese, my husband tried the biscuits and gravy with eggs (as did my brother), and my brother's gf tried biscuit breakfast sandwich. We all split the Johnny cakes with black walnuts and cream, which were incredibly tasty and unique! Everything was warm, fresh, and filling, and the biscuits are to die for. Service was so friendly and attentive, too! I will say the the line grew longer as the morning progressed, and by the time we left (probably around 10:30), the line was spilling out the door and onto the street and extended down the sidewalk. I am thrilled for Wise County Biscuits opening their brick & mortar eatery! It looks like a lot of work and thought went into building out the like new space. Our group of three went for brunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon in February. There was a line to order at the register when we arrived but we had no trouble finding a table to sit as the turnover went fast. I ordered the Sandwich Your Way that is an egg + 2 toppings on a biscuit. I very much appreciated the menu included a plant-based patty (mushroom and oat) as an option for biscuit toppings. I also ordered the side salad that comes topped with tiny square croutons made from biscuits. The friendly staff visited our table to check on us, refill waters, and clear our dishes. I was so excited when I found out about this place a few months ago!! Finally tried it out for breakfast last month and it absolutely met my expectations! The decor is so charming and cozy, everything is clean, and I just really enjoyed the vibe. The set up is different bc they have you wait in line, order, then take a seat and they bring you the food which was absolutely fine by me, just not what I expected. I see a lot of 5 star reviews and I have to admit that Wise Country Biscuits is not my kind of restaurant at all. First off the parking in the are is terrible. Also when My wife and I walked in there was a line that took us about 15-20 minutes to go through. You must wait on line first and order and pay upfront before sitting down. Also if you do not have cash for a tip you need to leave a tip when you pay for meal. Me myself I do not like paying for a meal before I even sit down. I ordered 2 eggs over easy with bacon and potatoes. The potatoes where really good. The bacon was just ok nothing special at all. One egg was cooked ok one was a little over cooked. There is no real service to speak of as the only time you see anyone is at the register when you pay and when you get your food. The food was ok over all but for myself and my wife the bill for breakfast with tip was almost $40. When did you ever eat a breakfast anywhere and it was $40??????????? I would have to say I will never go here again and I personally can not recommend them at all. I would generally give 1 star but 2 stars is probably more appropriate. read more

Love this place! We got to try it recently due to a gift card from a friend and we can't wait to go back! You get in line first thing, and they really stress not sitting at tables until you order to keep the line moving and spots available for everyone. The system works pretty well as they seem to have the timing worked out well that by time you wait in line, get your order taken, and pay you can find a table and your food comes out quickly. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The place is bright and cheery with a variety of table options plus a few small outside tables. You pay at the counter and get a number before you sit. In addition to great breakfast options, they also have a delicious looking pastry case that I wish we saved room for. Baklava rice krispees, cookies, muffins, all looked fantastic. They also have a very good hibiscus tea and coffee options. We got a bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwich with a side of grits and the sausage gravy and biscuit with potatoes. I was so excited to be able to enjoy a gluten free biscuit sandwich! They even took the extra steps to ensure that my potato side dish was also prepared GF. We went at a bit of an off time (around 10:30) so there wasn't a wait for tables or a long wait for food. It was a little bit of a challenge to find parking (it is street parking) but our walk wasn't that bad. We grabbed menus and then a seat while we decided what to order. Once you decide, you order and pay at the counter (but they do deliver your food to your table). There are a variety of seating openings (counter, tables/chairs and more casual couch/chairs). I like that there are breakfast and lunch options. There are some menu options that are only available after 11. We ordered a biscuit with homemade jam, a create your own sandwich and some of the doughnut bites. Everything was crazy fresh and delicious! Definitely one of my favorite breakfasts I've had in recent memory. We loved everything about our experience and are eager to go back and try something different! read more

Any place that offers heavy cream on request with coffee is tops with me. That said, the coffee is good, the grits are outstanding, and the biscuits are to die for. The day is finally here! Wise County officially opened their brick & mortar cafe in Allegheny West. I've been a fan for a while from seeing them at Farmers Markets around town. The buttermilk biscuits here are phenomenal, and I'm sucker for a bacon egg & cheese which I ordered today. The side of potatoes was also perfectly crispy and well-seasoned. The new cafe has everything customers are used to from the Farmer's Market (fresh and frozen biscuits, etc.) but has an awesome expanded menu with a larger selection of homestyle breakfasts, lunch options and sides (personally very excited for grits as a partial southerner who can't find them many places in town). They're carrying de fer coffee which is also a win. There's a selection of other takeaway items including pimento cheese, sausage gravy, and other local goods such as raw honey and country ham. If you're in a rush, there are pastries and plain biscuits to-go. There's plenty of seating including tables, counter seats and a comfy couch & chairs. This is such an amazing and welcome addition to the Northside. I have no doubt they will be wildly successful. read more
