Wow ... for place that's only been open for a little, they seem to be hitting on all cylinders. First time there dinner tonite. Parking is rough when the adjacent lot is full. It's street parking on a narrow industrial street with lots of "tow" labeled spots just waiting to suck you in. And I'd bet the tow trucks are circling this area like sharks! Once you get parked and inside, the place has a nice urban vibe. There's not that many tables, so be sure to get a reservation. There's a few spots at the bar, but not many, and this is not a place you are gonna want to wait, because the whole environment sucks you in to sit a spell. Tables do not turn frequently. Nice wine list with adequate by the glass and bottle pricing. I landed on a Chehalem Pinot Noir from Oregon. Really nice at $15 for a 5-6 oz pour. A lot of other interesting wines to choose from. Menu is great, not so overwhelming to be confusing, but a complete nod to the culinary world that anyone will find something to try with a twist. E.G., peanut butter and jelly wings as a shareable. Clever. I opted for the blue crab arincini and they didn't disappoint. Risotto and blue crab flash fried into golf balls. Delish. For main course I went with the bouillabaisse of red snapper, stone crab and shrimp. Everything was cooked to perfection. The red snapper had a nice crispy outside, flaky inside, and the shrimp were perfect, not over or undercooked. Don't usually eat dessert, but my server talked me into a mini peanut butter cheesecake kind of thing. Perfect finish to the meal. She can twist my arm anytime. And despite the place being new, the service was spot on, neither rushed nor lagging. Unusual for a new place. The servers and the kitchen were humming as one. Shareable, entree, couple glasses of wine and dessert topped out at around $80 with tip. Well worth the experience in my humble opinion. I will definitely go back. read more

My husband and I tried out the speakeasy a couple years ago and loved the intimate vibe and cocktails. Then a few weeks ago we remembered this place and didn't even realize it was also a restaurant! The egg rolls were to die for, the pork chop was amazing and the Fra Diavolo was the perfect amount of spicy for me. I ordered the blackened chicken wrap, which had maybe 3-4oz of chicken (2 small strips of chicken in each half). I felt like I was eating a bunch of arugula in a tortilla. My husband ordered the burger, meat was fine but the bun was so soggy by the time it got to our table. Smoked red fish toast had just the right amount of goat cheese for a little tartness, French toast with mango topping was crispy on the edges and the perfect moistness in the center, truffle fries added a great savory element with garlic (curry ketchup is a great surprise for the fries) and then the pork cutlet was the flavorful and crispy topped with perfectly over easy eggs. Just came here for a birthday dinner. The reservation was set for 8:30pm. Unfortunately we couldn't make it at that time and the hostess was kind enough to change the dinner reservations to 10pm. We arrived at 10:05pm, there was only 4 tables of customers. I understand the capacity rules because of Covid-19 and that they are limited. As we were sat down by a hostess. We were served water and asked what drinks we wanted. Then minutes later We asked to order food. Little did we know...... they stopped serving food at 10pm!!!! The restaurant didn't close until 11pm. Why are we allowing customers inside the establishment if we aren't going to serve food?? Hmmm..... as we said "ok", we decided to leave. Luckily the manager caught us standing outside for 5minutes and informed us of the miscommunication. I hope this never happens again to other customers!!! Because it's very discouraging and makes you feel as if they don't want you to be in there establishment. Then we tried to go into the Amber Room and that was at "capacity". They seem to have done okay during the crisis and are responding well and safely to the re-opening. We sat outside on the patio but they have tables inside spaced out well too. They're using precautions with food handling and such. The menu is a little limited right now because of the comeback but it's still got variety and creativity. The filet kabobs with chimichurri sauce were very flavorful and the shrimp diavla was incredible. There was also live music on the patio while we were there and it was great patio weather. After 20 min of waiting for my wine (ordered when seated) I asked again and was told they could not find the specific wine. I asked what they could find and I would just order from that selection, I was told no. The plating was beautiful but unfortunately that is where it stopped. Deconstructed pot pie was far too salty to enjoy. The Bouillabaisse was a mess of seafood covered in a basic marinara sauce.
