I took my 2013 Cruze in for a couple minor issues. First it was low on coolant, but I could find no external leaks. Second the my link radio would turn off and restart randomly while driving. The low coolant issue is a known problem with the 1.4 liter turbo motor found in the Cruze/sonic/Trax etc. I spoke to Chris a service writer after making an appointment to leave the car. He said the low coolant issue was most likely a water pump issue and the radio turning off was s symptom of a faulty negative battery cable. Both issues would be warranty work, the radio specifically due to an "extra" coverage issue known by Chevrolet. I did sign a quote for $150 "diagnostic fee" just in case it turned out the issues were not warrantied. I returned to work via the courtesy shuttle, not more than 20 minutes later Chris called me to inform me that the low coolant issue was caused by a leak at a fitting in the water outlet. Because it was a fitting and not the outlet itself it would not be covered under warranty. I was displeased that the outlet was covered but not the fitting since the fitting is directly attached to the outlet. The radio issue was a warranty issue and they could repair it quickly. The fitting (and hose that comes with the fitting) was a $20 part. Sometime later I was informed the car was done and that the bill for the fitting replacement was $240! When I asked Chris about the cost to replace a $20 part he informed me that the majority of the bill was the $150 "diagnostic fee" which is basically 2 hours of labor. I told him that I didn't think I should need to pay the fee because the car was brought in for two issues one of which WAS warrantied, the 2 issues were both diagnosed in less than 20 mins. His reply? "Your The Who signed the quote, nothing I can do about it". I returned to the service department after work to retrieve my vehicle. A woman (didn't catch her name) helped my at the cashier desk. She handed me the paperwork which showed $0.00 for the work. I signed the quote and said to her that it was cheaper than I thought. She looked at the paperwork and said "yeah, looks like everything was a warranty issue". At this time Chris walks over, and takes the paperwork while saying that's not right, the hose isn't a warranty claim". I stated that I just signed the paperwork for $0.00 and she is telling me it's a warranty claim. He responded with a "well that's wrong someone must have entered it wrong". I told him that it sounds like this is an issue for him to take up with chevy since I already signed the paperwork. The whole time he is "re writing" the work done. He hands me a bill for $240, I again mention that this seems like an issue between him and chevy because I was verbally told it was warranty and signed the service receipt for zero dollars. The gentleman at the parts counter says " that sound about right, you just signed it" Chris seemed to be visually agitated at this remark and says that "it isn't warranty and that even if I leave he will just have to call me to pay the bill anyway, you knew it wasn't warrantied when you approved the repair on the phone" he then leaves as a new customer car arrives for service. I voiced my concerns to the woman about the $150 fee for less than 20 mins of work and that one of the two issues was a warranty claim. There wasn't anything she could do she claimed. At this point I just paid the bill to get out of there, I had to get home. I called and left a message for the service manager on 2/24/17. I have yet to have a return call. My next step is to speak with the GM, and if needed Chevrolet corporate customer service. read more

I purchased a 2016 Chevy Trax brand new from a dealership that has since closed. The trax had a recall on the air bags. I wanted to give this car to my daughter so I called Whittmeier to see if they could look at it tell me if the recall had been preformed at the dealership I had purchased it at before it had went out of business or it still needed to be done. Over the phone they told me it is a simple reprogram fix. I dropped the car off at 8:45 in the morning. At 2:50 I get a call stating they have an update for me on the trax. Then Jesse the service advisor tells me the update was not preformed because the air bag control module was broken. That he had to pay out of his own pocket to have my car diagnosed. Something I never asked him to do NOR WAS I CONSULTED ON. I get there to pick up my car and he presents me with a 957.55 proposal to replace the air bag control module. The very same thing that had the recall. Fine the update was not able to be done. WHAT IS NOT FINE is when I get in my car to leave the air bag light is now on and flashing. It was not like that when I dropped it off. Also the back seat belt is locked in place and can not be used. The seat belt reminder does not go off all things that worked before I dropped the car off. So now for sure the air bags are not going to work the seat belts don't even work correctly. I should have been given the car back in the same condition I dropped it off in NOT WORSE. read more

I purchased a used car and was reassured that the car passed their inspections. 3-4 months later the car randomly started to shut off and steering wheel locked up. My car got into an accident as a result of this. The car was a lemon. I informed them that they need to take care of this. They choose not to honor their word to take care of the vehicle, which they said they would if anything were to happen due to their part. The person I talked to seemed annoyed that I asked if he could confirm that it was the right part being that I would have to ride my bike 5 miles in the smoke caused by the Camp Fire to pick it up. Tried to buy a car from these guys, and they're everything you'd think bad about a dealer. They were asking way too much to begin with and weren't willing to come down to something reasonable. Finally they came back with some obviously made up random number as the "bottom line" and "my boss can't lose money on this car." Yeah right, you guys didn't pay that much. They tried to tell me I was checking the trade in value on KBB and not dealer price. No... I can't stand this invisible man in the back crap. They do this good god bad cop bullshit and it's so obvious. I can't stand them trying to focus on down payments and monthly payments when it literally doesn't matter to them since they'll just get their money from a lender. I'm not taking your bullshit, I can obviously see through it, so quit. Don't keep laying it on. Don't act surprised when I get upset with you. About a year ago I leased my first electric vehicle(EV) from Wittmeier. My first EV and my first lease. Up front, let me say I didn't do sufficient research on the car or on the lease. When I was negotiating the lease, nothing was said about the $7,500 federal tax credit available on the car. A few months after, it came to light that on a lease, the finance/leasing company gets the credit. When I inquired at GM Financial,I was told the dealer gets it from them. There is no consumer protection regulation that required them to tell me about it so I considered it a life lesson, so to speak. I couldn't keep the car with the bad taste this left so I sold the lease and, even though the car was amazing, I doubt I could own another GM car. This comes up now because I recently bought another EV from another dealer. I wasn't considering a lease, but one of the first things they said to me was that if I wanted to lease, they get a $7,500 rebate from the finance company which I could apply to a down payment. This is a great deal for someone who may not be able to use the tax credit. Anyway, I am not saying I'm a victim here, I'm just saying make sure you do your research if you decide to buy or lease from Wittmeier. read more

We purchased a new car and when we got home realized that we only received one key. We returned immediately and were told they lost the other key and were promised to get a new one in 2-3 days. After almost 3 weeks and over 10 attempts to contact them it was still not taken care of and we were given the run around. I hit something on the road missed up two rims my 2016 Z06 ended up at wittmeier for insurance repair car sat at wittmeier for a week another story. Anyways Chico wittmeier sent my 100+ Z06 to les S to install new rims later I get a call from wittmeiers body saying say Les S could not get the tires they where on back order for my car. I call around and found the tires at wittmeiers part department and American tire. Then I was told my car had to stay at les S over night I told wittmeier body shop I don't trust leaving my car there was promised it would be ok and not be left at Les S. a second night.? Turns out it was left after. I checked my location app my car was still at Les S it's was unlocked with my windows down after setting in the rain all day all other vehicles in the shops windows where up they also had a jack located in the rear of my Z06 watch is not the write location for jacking up my car could cause rear end problems I will never go back to Les S or wittmeier for any repair or body work. I recently relocated to Chico with my three-year-old Chevy Cruz. My check-engine light appeared and I made an appointment and brought it in to the Service Department. While Chris Cook ,the service representative, was courteous, the service department was unable to diagnose the problem and after two weeks in the shop, they said they needed to call 'Technical Assistance Line" (I thought the Service Department was Technical Assistance for Chevy owners). After the first week in the shop (and picking up my vehicle only to have all of the indicator lights go on), and no offer to provide me with a loaner vehicle or rental, despite the fact that the repairs are covered under warranty, I was notified that they are still working on the problem. I asked for a rental or loaner as my car has been in the shop for two weeks and was told that the manager was not going to assist me with a loaner or rental (again, the repairs are under warranty). I was notified this morning that they located the issue (after calling Technical Assistance) and they are only willing to provide three days of a rental, despite the additional two weeks in the shop. I will not return to Wittmeier Chevrolet, for service for for sales. Extremely disappointing. read more

This is the perfect place to get your car repaired if you like horrible customer service and poor quality workmanship. I brought in my vehicle to get repair the rear metal defrost tab on the glass, and they thought it would be smart to use some sort of lick it and stick it adhesive rather using New GM parts. It was still under manufacturers warranty with 18,000 miles. They're Customer Experience manager Mike Riggle is as useless as tits on a bull. He expected me to keep returning every time to repair it with adhesive until my warranty ran out and then I'd have to pay for it out of pocket. He must think I'm as stupid as he looks if I'm gonna fall for that. I'm glad I didn't buy my car there and will tell anyone that'll listen to buy at a different Chevrolet dealership. To make Look even more incompetent, I gave a call to Dublin Chevrolet to explain my issue. They're response what I expected, to replace the rear glass with New GM parts that'll give my car the best chance at a longer life of the car. Those 140 miles were worth it. read more

So we finally got the call last week to have our defective Cobalt serviced under the massive recall. So I scheduled the appointment for today, my day off. So yesterday they called to try and reschedule my 8:30 am appointment because they were overbooked according to the woman I spoke with. What this tells me is they have service that they actually want to do that are paying jobs and not recalls. Sure, let my family drive in a car that is defective. I had to arg u e and insist to keep my scheduled appointment. So I show up today and Mike the service guy said only 1 in a 100000 are bad and it isn't a big deal. Maybe not to the 99999, but that 1 am sure disagrees. I asked for a loaner vehicle and was told they do not offer them for this but only for warranty repairs because GM pays for it. So on my day off we will be without a car. So I ask for a shuttle ride home so I can enjoy my day off with my family. The shuttle was full except for 1 seat. I gave up the seat for an elderly gentleman as I was raised with manners. So the dealerships solution, use my car that is here for service to shuttle me home. How about no. Not using this car and my gas to do something you should be doing for me, the customer. Way to service customers. Maybe you could think outside the box and say, use one of the hundreds of vehicles you have in this auto center to take me home. Just a suggestion. read more

I went in yesterday to try to get a part for my corvette it was a minor part on the windshield molding the guy came out I explained what I needed he then went inside to the parts dept after a few minutes of wondering and waiting I decided to go in to see what was the conclusion and found the guy trying to explain to the very unsightly parts slob and had no clue what he was doing he pulled up a schematic of the area in question and tried to make the service writer look like an idiot well after several back n forth arguing the slob came out to the car would not even look at the problem piece and insisted that the whole windshield molding had to be replaced I could see it did not it was a simple strip of plastic that was in my opinion an easy fix and continued to berate the service guy what a joke so unprofessional what a sad situation they got going on there I finally had enough and said this is looking and sounding like it's not gonna produce anything see ya you morons and left abruptly never ever to return what a joke that place is do not go there read more

No stars if it was allowed. My car has been at Pep Boys since last Friday, because they could get to it soonest. The part needed (a hose witb a valve in it) is a "dealer only" part. Apparently dealers do not stock dealer only parts for cars even though the same exact part is found on no less than 4 models of GM cars that have been in production for 10 years. So, they had to order it, this was Friday early afternoon. Wittmeier did not actually order the part until Monday sometime, and promised it would be at Pep Boys via their parts runners no later than Wednesday. Apparently, the part arrived on Tuesday and it is still sitting at Wittmeier right now, on Thursday, and they don't know when it will get to Pep Boys so my car can be repaired. I have dealt with this place with Ford warranty issues in the past, and it is still clear that they care nothing for customers, whether they are normal people or shops that need parts. So thanks for causing my family a week of delays in getting my car repaired because you are too lazy and inconsiderate to do your job. read more
