I've had wok box several times when in the area. They have a pretty good menu with options for almost all dietary restrictions. The food is considered "fast food" but with a twist: Asian fusion! The place was pretty busy for lunch on a Saturday. I ordered the DAN DAN (EXTRA SPICY) (Add a little spice to your life but beware, the Dan Dan is not for the faint of heart with it's bed of hearty Hokkien over our firey hot chili sauce. *Disclaimer*: The Dan Dan may awaken your inner fire breathing dragon [sic from menu]) but subbed for their vegetarian udon noods. The meals come with a medley of vegetables and they don't skimp on them which is really nice. Plus, they don't load up on cheap vegetables. You get carrots, onion, broccoli, and cabbage; finished with cilantro, sprouts, and lemon. The flavours were really good and the regular size is really 2 meals in one (for me). They are not kidding when they say it was spicy! I had to add extra lemon juice, cilantro, and soya to mine! Plus I added their vegan chick*n which are thick, long strips of pretty good fake chicken. It was very good and extremely reasonable. The service was ok. The guy that served us was not overly friendly but one of their cooks was pretty lighthearted and friendly. The only comment I could make was the state of their cooking area. It didn't look overly clean and quite greasy. Coupons got me walking to Wok Box. We tried Wok Box with a buy one get one free with a drink purchase. Luckily we came in on a Tuesday and that daily deal of the day was 20% off their most popular choices, which we were surprisingly allowed to use with our coupon - amazing deal! My boyfriend chose the Dan Dan Noodles and I ordered the Pad Thai. Then you could hear the flames go and the wok being flipped around. After about 10 minutes we were presented with our meals. I have to say if you ever had Dan Dan Noodles or Pad Thai - this is not authentic at all. The true flavours of those dishes were not present at all. My Pad Thai had more of a sweet soy sauce flavour to it and didnt have any of the traditional ingredients besides from the bean sprouts. Essentially Wok Box to me is, flame wok'd food of your choice of protein and veggies mixed with a generic sauce then placed on top of a carb of rice or noodles. If your dish is spicy, they do honour that and make it quite spicy. Depending on the dish, they seem to over saturate in sauce as well. All in all, despite the lack of traditional flavours and selling these dishes to the unbeknownst people thinking it's real asian cuisine - the protein and veggies are fresh and they do give you a decent portion for the price (with a discount or coupon). Without a deal, I probably wouldn't make this a regular place but with a good coupon I might wok back to Wok Box. read more

The portions are also very generous. I got a regular size and I was pretty full, even though I had just finished a hike. The restaurant also seems to take COVID-19 precautions very seriously. I really do not understand the reviews of this location of Wok Box. I have been here on multiple occasions for lunch and dinner and have had really good experiences. The service has always been top notch with smiles all around and quick food delivery. If you buy a regular sized portion not the lunch size it is huge! I eat allot and I have trouble finishing it most times. This is fast Asian food and as such is not a good as going to a higher quality establishment but it is still really tasty! They even serve beer witch is a plus all on its own! Yes it is a little pricey compared to other fast food joints of the same caliber but it is also better quality food than say McDonalds or Taco Del Mar. Yes, it is too pricey for what it offers. The choices are limited, but that's fine since this is a fast food outlet. What's not fine is the bland quality of the food, even when you order something advertised as spicy or hot. I ordered a "sumo" box of noodles and stir fry; my wife had a smaller version of a different stir fry. The only difference between the two sizes was noodles, loads of noodles, far too many noodles. Veg and meat were the same, and minimal at that. Even then, I would have enjoyed the super noodle fest if the sauce was tasty. It wasn't. It was bland and so runny that it gathered at the bottom of the box instead of coating the food. You might as well go to Safeway on 24th and 152nd. I've lived in the area for about 2 years and have never come here for a meal. Their menu is lot like Noodle box in Vancouver. As the name suggests, they have wok fried noodles and rice. I had Firecracker lunch size. The lunch size is definitely small. If you are super hungry or have a good appetite, I would definitely recommend skipping the lunch size. As for the price, I think it is little pricey but I do like that they have a kids' meal for a dollar (I think only on Mondays). As for the food, I thought it was delicious. I liked the combination of kimchi and the noodles. For me, it wasn't very spicy but for others with a delicate palate, this may be too spicy. The biggest complaint I see written here is 'too pricey!" What the hell is too pricey? Their regular size items are ~$10. If that is too pricey, move to Thailand to get some authentic dishes for a fraction of that price. I personally enjoy spicy food and I think the heat rating on their food is fairly accurate. My wife was even complaining about one of their single flame ranked dishes being almost too hot for her. So if you are a little sensitive to spice, be aware of their hotter dishes. I do not know if they can substitute the vegetables in the dishes but they should be able to tone down the heat. As far as I can tell this food is the next best thing to fresh because all of it is frozen before they grill it. For a quick meal, the food here is pretty delicious. They have a lot of options and a range of spice levels, Dan Dan being the hottest (stay away from this if you are not that crazy about spicy food). As a tip to the owner, asking your employees to table serve your customers (especially when there is no one else in the restaurant) would certainly go a long way. Innocuos stir fry restaurant. I'm used to the real deal when it comes to noodles and rice as my Chinese mother in law is a fantastic cook. Wok box offers Korean, Singaporean, chibes, and Japanese items on the menu. Problem is what we ordered all kind of tasted the same. The noodles were missing that wok taste you get at an authentic place, and the stir fry sauces were two notes: salt and sweet. There was a lack of any other spice to the dishes. On top of this the noodles came with too much sauce and we're literally swimming in a salty stir fry sauce. For $10 or $11 it cost, go find a real Chinese, Vietnamese, or Korean place you'll enjoy it so much more. Upon walking into the restaurant with my boyfriend, it was completely spotless. We were served immediately, and the counter attendant was super friendly. I ordered a small pho, and my boyfriend got the butter chicken. Our food was up in a reasonable time, and it was delicious. The soup base was flavourful without being too strong, and the beef and noodles were cooked perfectly. My boyfriend felt there was too much sauce, but he ate it all, so it can't have been that bad. About the prices - I worked at Wok Box for 9 months (in Alberta), and I can vouch for the ingredients. Everything is cooked to order, and all the ingredients are fresh. Carrots, onions, etc are chopped in the restaurant, and the soup base is made from scratch. That being said, I am comfortable paying what I do as I know the food is fresher than most restaurants.
