Wanted to try something new. Didn't work out for me. The place smelled good and looked very clean so I ordered Lowmein "the combo" and honey let me tell ya I prayed to the Lord Jesus himself when those plates were set on my table. I don't know what that green stuff is but I wasn't gonna risk it and went straight for a piece of chicken. The first bite was good but the next was super chewy. The low mein had me thinking I had dementia because I'm pretty sure those are some type of weird chips. I had to google pictures of low mein to confirm I wasn't losing my mind. The rice was old and I didn't even try to taste the egg roll because it looked like it was sitting on the table for two days. It sucks that the food isn't good here because the two workers seemed very nice. Should probably close the restaurant and think of a different career path or get a new chef. read more

Put this one on the frequent list! Everything we ordered was excellent! Food ordered: Pork egg foo young. Huge chunks of the Bbq pork. The consistency of the patty reminded me of stuffing and egg. It was really good with a subtle gravy. Bbq pot soup. My little one loves noodles and loved the noodles and broth. I should have just ordered noodles and broth. He didn't like the pork or fresh bok choy, but I loved it. House fried rice and pork fried rice were great. Fluffy and not greasy. Egg rolls, meh. We ordered food for take-out after just moving into our house and being desperate for something quick and filling that would give us leftovers in an empty fridge... but as we settled in to eat this on the floor with plastic forks it quickly because clear this wasn't going to be the go-to spot we had hoped we could find. Honestly we have some of the worst luck with restaurants (even those well-rated), so this wasn't a huge surprise that this fell flat. Not even the kids liked the usual dishes they like. We did get the leftovers we wanted, but the take-out menu went into the trash instead of our "menu drawer". Better luck next time I guess. read more

Maybe three pieces of cocktail shrimp (tiny kind usually comes in a can) and a couple small pieces of pork. We like coming here for their lunch buffet they have a few different stir fry's including some vegetarian friendly as well as wontons, egg rolls, and dumplings. They have salad and some fruit as well as little pieces of cake and almond cookies for dessert. The man and women who run this place are so sweet and they remember you. It had been a long while since we were able to come and they remembered our drink order and everything. Overall I would recommend this place. I have never eaten off their menu but I'm sure that's just as good as the buffet if not better. read more

I believe the same family has been operating a Chinese restaurant in the shoreview mall for over 30 years at this point, and the food has always been pretty consistent for takeout or dine-in. The steamed buns are excellent, as is the roast duck and many of the noodle dishes. They are always good about modifying dishes upon request, and the menu is huge. read more

There are not many restaurants in the suburbs to chose from with quality Asian food. This is not one of those restaurants. We ordered by phone and picked up our food on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The cream cheese wantons had no filling to speak of and were hard and chewy and their Sesame chicken lacked flavor. However we did enjoy the Beef with Garlic and Black Bean Sauce and the pork fried rice was good as well. I would not go out of my way to eat here, but when in Shoreview, and hungry, I might be willing to give it another try. If that time comes, I will be sure to ask them to dial up the heat a bit. read more

Delicious, authentic Chinese food....in the 'burbs! We live in Downtown Minnneapolis and were on a quest to find a new Chinese restaurant. This one came through a recommendation from my co-worker who lives in Shoreview. Based on location and ambience, we were definitely skeptical but then pleasantly surprised. The shanghai buns are delicate, perfectly seasoned and delicious...reminded us of juicy buns we get in NYC. We also tried the Pei Pa tofu, which is increasingly becoming difficult to find in the twin cities. They were crisp, fluffy, delightful and served with the sauce on the side. The shrimp pan fried noodles were excellent, and the eggplant with chicken in garlic sauce was also good. If you don't like authentic Chinese food, they also offer a wide variety of Americanized favorites. Worth a try and even though it's not close to where we live, we will definitely be back. read more

I have been going here since it was House of Teng! (Almost 15 years now?) Love Danny and his family. They have always been so great and very customer oriented. I've tried many Chinese places now all over the state and this is one of the best. My personal favorites includes house fried rice or lo mein. The cream cheese puffs and chicken wings are great. I love wok cuisine. I return to wok cuisine anytime I'm home, and I won't eat any other Chinese food. It's a shame that people aren't aware of the great food. There has always been a lot of take-out, but the food is better while dining in! Appetizers: hand made egg rolls, pot stickers**, cream cheese puffs, shanghai steam buns- that are all great. They also have Honey spicy chicken wings and lettuce wraps. (things that come to mind that I would recommend, especially the pot stickers- ask for some hot sauce to have with them!) Orange peel chicken is amazing. Chicken pad Thai-medium spicy, another favorite dish. They are able to make a gluten-free fried rice entree, among others, for those with a gluten intolerance. The atmosphere Inside the restaurant is very nice. They have a wine and beer menu too. read more

The Wok Cuisine is pretty good. It probably won't win any awards or compete with the buffets nearby, but overall, it offers decent fare. There's a lunch buffet that is served on weekdays from 11-2. It's a small selection, but reflects what you normally could order separately from their menu. And it's pretty cheap, about $8. For about $2 more you can hit up the Supreme Buffet a few miles away and expand your selection ten-fold. From my experience of eating both the buffet and the normal menu, the quality of the food is definitely improved when ordering from the menu. The buffet food suffered from poor handling: the potstickers had black, charred edges, the chicken was overcooked, and the soup had evaporated into a gooey mess. The menu items were prepared separately, tasted much better, and had been cooked with much more love. read more

On my way home, I was forced into a detour because of traffic. Saw their sign from the road and decided to try it out, instead of my usual Chinese place. The place looks clean and tidy, and the menu is full of choices and has a couple of vegetarian options. The lady that greeted me wasn't particularly welcoming and had a hard time telling me the ingredients in most of the dishes I was interested in, so I settled for "House fried rice and chicken wings" The chicken was good, not too dry and not greasy. The rice was good too and had more meats (chicken, pork, shrimp) than most places I've been to. The food seasoning was on point, not too salty or overwhelming. I'll give it 4 stars for now: - 1 for cleanliness - 1 for a really huge menu selection - 1 for the food seasoning that was on point - 1 for fairness. Judging a Chinese restaurant on fried rice and chicken wings is not ideal. The review will be updated once I have a chance to try some of the chef's recommandations. read more

I went to wok cuisine tonight with my fiancé. We had noticed it before when we had come into the strip mall for Subway, and the decor looked great. We end up stopping in to give it a try. My fiancé had the combination #6. Awesome LoMein, pretty good fried rice, and the cream cheese won tons were the best she had had in a couple years. I had the Pork with Garlic Sauce.
