In my never ending search for good food in the Orange County area one of the main types that continues to allude me is a good Wok place. I love Wok restaurants when the food is done right but it appears this is becoming hard to come by. The Wok Experience is a chain of restaurants that are popping up all over the Orange County area. Yes, the prices are affordable and the portions are huge, but the problem is the food is tasteless and dry. The lady running the house is very friendly but the service is simply part of the equation to a good restaurant. I have been to this location on two separate occasions and neither experience will leave a positive lasting impression on me. Out of all the dishes they serve I have tried the Spicy House Chicken and The Black Pepper Beef. Although the Spicy House Chicken is a bit spicy it has little flavor in the times I have tried it. The Black Pepper Beef which I had high hopes for was dry and the Beef had a rubbery texture to it and was far too chewy. I will say that the chow mein is a plus but not enough to keep me coming back. The portions they give you here are larger than that of neighboring Panda Express or Busy Bee locations however the food in my opinion is a giant step back. I will continue to search for a place to satisfy my Wok cravings but until then I will stick with Panda for my Beef and Chicken urges. After two attempts I am not sure I will come back unless I'm desperate. read more

Lately, there seem to be problems with the quality of the food. My last experience led me to believe that the only truly great selection may be their awesome WonTon soup but hardly anyone wants to order the same thing time after time. The Teriyaki chicken was dry and the sauce didn't taste like teriyaki in my opinion. Even the chow mein and rice seemed sub par. I've been here many times and order off the a la carte menu because the food is fresh and delicious. No complaints about the food except, perhaps, that how it's made tends to be inconsistent, but always delicious. But I am finally FED UP with my order being WRONG. I always get my food to take home. Three times in a row now they've done something wrong, and I'm not going back. Two separate times it was something left out of my bag. Today it was something small that they didn't put in, but I know I paid for it as the lady was naming the items as she was ringing them up (can't check the receipt, though, because that was NOT in the bag). One time was one part of the order was completely wrong, not what I ordered nor anything I wanted. Called, let them know, then had to drive five miles back to pick up the correct thing. It's not my job to ensure what's in the bag is actually what I ordered. Oh, and what WAS in the bag was lots of plastic silverware, packages of sauces, etc., that I didn't ask for that they're not supposed to be doling out. I came here on a whim and I must say it is a pretty clean place. The man who assisted me was very friendly so no problem there. I came here on a quick meal and I ordered Chow Mein and Kung Pao chicken. The man behind the counter noticed that I am a big guy ordering a 1 item plate mainly because I am trying to not eat so much. He was nice enough to add an extra scoop and practically fill both sides of the box and give me a cup for water. Maybe he thought I was short on cash either way it was thoughtful so I saved my ice tea that I had been drinking and sat down and ate there. The needles were well cooked and the chicken had a little kick but great flavor. None of the food was overly greasy and that is always a good sign at these quick service places. Hi everyone... on yelp check out this place in the heart of Anaheim. Where the heart speak to all. The employees are wonderful. I have been coming here the foods are great clean and it customer service deserves five star. But that not the only feast thing about this restaurant it gives back to the community the way they give back to the community bring me tears because on how the server didn't turn away a homeless senior adult and only wanted to buy small portions of food in there restaurant but he gave the man what he wish and the customer after him offered to buy his meal. I come to this location all the time only to order Shrimp fried rice! The Chef knows my face & when I walk in it's instant, the cashier knows my face also! Well tonight at 830 myself & another gentleman walked in behind me & we both wanted to order shrimp fried rice & they turned us both away. The tall asian gentleman was very rude, this was first time seeing him, the short asian regular cashier that always sees me was very rude tonight saying talk the tall asian man, the kitchen is closed. Meanwhile the doors are open until 9pm & the rest of there food didn't look fresh at all..Instead of serving your customers you rather turn us away! Definitely need to take care of your customers! The BBQ PORK is amazing!! It's just like the pork that they put in the steamed buns, so flavorful and tender. The rice was a bit over cooked but with the sauces of the entrees that are so generously poured into every scoop of meat it really isn't that big a deal. The restaurant closes at 9:30 PM, we showed up around 9:00 PM so the food looked like it had been sitting there for a while :( But what would you expect 30 minutes until closing. But the food tasted pretty good (it wasn't too salty, wasn't too strong, wasn't bland, etc.) I'm sure you've had better Chinese food else-where, but this place was convenient, clean, cheap, and close by. Had the two item combo ... teriyaki chicken, broccoli beef, fried rice, chow mein with a drink for about $7.50. The broccoli beef was ok ... the rest you could've closed your eyes and been at any Chinese fast food place. I would never feed it to my dogs I can't believe I ate it . I sampled the sesame chicken and passed, doused in sauce tasted like it had been sitting there for awhile. The orange chicken appeared to be suffering from the same symptoms. I took about 4 bites, sampling everything before I just tossed it and went next door to Charleys Sandwhiches for a philly cheesesteak. Pros: friendly, timely service very clean, I think the place is only a year old or so ... Cons: the food really isn't that great the food really isn't worth the price I won't be having Chinese any time again soon. We park in front of LJS's. I notice Wok Experience over in the next building. GMIT agrees to go check it out with me. GMIT (eyes full of steam-table food): Let's eat here. Me (to myself): WHEW! We get a 3-item combo: Orange chicken, BBQ pork, and Broccoli Beef, plus a cup of Egg Flower soup. The guy piles on a LOT of food, and the "cup" of soup is actually more "bowl"-sized for other restaurants. I know GMIT and I aren't going to be able to finish all that food. Chow Mein is very good, with good wok hay, and very tasty vegetables. Broccoli Beef is also good, nicely-flavored sauce and very tender beef slices. Broccoli is still green, cooked just right. BBQ pork was a bit salty, and had a lot of sauce. Orange chicken was okay to me, but GMIT seemed to like it quite a bit. Egg Flower soup was very good, with a well-flavored broth and lots of tofu and veggies. For $1.59, this was a very good deal. I wished we had ordered more veggies, but GMIT balked at the vegetable choices. When I go back, I intend to try a veg dish. Service was good, bathroom was extremely clean.
