    Beef chow fun
    Eric B.

I come here sometimes for lunch while I'm at work. This place is nothing fancy but just gets the job done. My go to is the beef chow fun and it's done perfectly. The ratio of beef, chow fun and flavor is perfect. If you like spicy, then you can add a little bit of sriracha for a nice kick. Again, don't expect much for atmosphere and vibe because most people that come here are workers around the area or people picking up to go orders. The food is delicious nonetheless.

Chicken egg foo young over rice.

Why am I just finding this place? I had a delicious lunch. Great service, excellent prices and plenty of choices. Watched the nice person make my lunch from scratch. Huge dining area. Had a wave of nostalgia as I walked in. South China cafe in the Castro, Mariposa cafe in Dogpatch and so many others that have slowly disappeared but Wok-in is still here. I will be back. I look forward to the breakfast and lunch buffets.

Came here last time just to eat lunch here on my day off which was my 1st time ever that I have ate lunch at the Wok In Cafeteria!!! And the food wasn't that bad at all and just like every other chinese food that I like to order and eat which is no other than my favorite which is the Mince Beef W/Raw Egg over steamed rice!!! Now that I ate lunch at the Wok In Cafeteria for my very 1st time and all I can is that this place is pretty good before coming here it wasn't that busy yet but when it the time was around 11:30 am that's when it started to get really busy!!!

The food here is reasonably priced , the flovor is nice, and the buffet provides a good variety of popular chinese dishes. Judy and Kevin are very friendly , always smile to the customers and u can feel the kindness and goodwill. Speciality recommended: Shrimp with soy sauce, Ginger Chicken. 价廉物美的中餐哦

This is a special request order my mom always gets. (Not on the menu): crispy noodles with minced beef and no egg.

My philosophy as a yelp review is this: unless a place super wows me the first time, I do not like reviewing a place unless I've been there at least 3 times. I just think that's fair and also shows consistency :) With that being said I've probably come here a dozen times. My dad works at Muni nearby and often goes here for lunch. A ton of people around the area one here for lunch, and here's why: Service is amazing. Michelle (the owner) is very friendly and loves greeting customers, cracking jokes, and making sure you are fed well. Everyone here is very friendly. As far as the food goes is always fresh and hot, and if it's not they will make a new batch and let you know. Their buffet is Chinese American food but it's all good. I have grown up in the city, Richmond district, had a ton of Chinese friends growing up, and I will say this food satisfies my Chinese food craving completely. Did I mention it's a buffet too? You can eat as much as you want! But my advice is take is slow and get a little bit of everything and find what you love then go for it. Oh and they also do breakfast all day too! Its the kind you get from the Chinese run diners... with the super big fluffy pancakes smothered in margarine and with those yummy fatty sausages! Ahh so good. Anyways you get your money's worth, and your belly fed right here. Wok on in ;)

    Yum!

I've been to a ton of Chinese restaurants and I can be pretty picky about how I like my Chinese food. But let me tell you, WOK-IN got it down! They make the best salt and pepper chicken wings and tea leaf eggs ($1.50 each) I've ever had. The wings are so crispy and so flavorful, with the perfect amount of jalapeño. The tea leaf eggs are bold and so fragrant. The seafood chow mein they serve here is delicious as well. They have now set the standard for chow mein and I can't go anywhere else without comparing to Wok-In. Other favorites of mine are the BBQ pork, roast pork, salty fish chicken fried rice, beef chow fun, honey walnut shrimp, and their runny egg dishes (off menu). Not a lot of places can nail a runny egg beef over rice, but I promise that if you order, it will not disappoint. Aside from the food, the staff members are super nice. I am always welcomed with warm greetings and smiles. I visit quite often and my trips to order lunch have also become visits to my friends haha! 10/10 would recommend!

Awesome sounds on the baritone sax, bass, and drums, with songs like Fly Me To The Moon setting the mood on a Saturday evening. To eat, we had the catfish fingers appetizer, daniel's gumbo, and slow braised short ribs. The catfish was lightly breaded and tender, the short ribs were soft like butter with a tasty sauce, and the gumbo was a hearty dish in a flavorful stew, generous with the meats (chicken, ham, andouille sausage, and shrimp). We also got the dessert special, banana pecan muffin which came with fresh slices of strawberry and blueberries, as well as a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was delightful. To drink, I tried a couple different cocktails, the Lavender French 75 and The Cotton Club. Both were really good, but I especially enjoyed the latter which was heavy on the strawberry and lemon flavors, my fave. All in all, we had a wonderful experience here, savoring every last bite of our meal while immersed in the inviting atmosphere ideal for date night or any special occasion.

I had steamed mussels with fries. There were not enough mussels because they were huge and the sauce was more a broth and not at all flavorful enough. I usually love sopping up every last drop of the juice. But the really disappointing aspect of our dinner was the service. There were 3 people behind the service station. All of them need a training course on how to pay attention to paying customers. Instead they were all engrossed in private conversation with each other or with one particular customer. And one of the staff was simply intimidating, and very very loud. I suspected his behavior may have been chemically induced. Our waitress was very sweet, cheerful and helpful when we could catch her attention. But as I said a 15 minute training exercise each evening before starting work would work wonders. Like look around each customer every time you are not doing anything. And the more senior staff member was just uninterested and perhaps a little grumpy. So the food was blah, more flavor in the broth would help, and ok but at today's prices a "dinner out" has to be about more than just the food.

Used to serve anything that's both American and Italian, until Vanessa had made it into a family run small business restaurant which was absolutely welcoming for both locals and tourists alike since 2004. It's the only reason I come to 7 Mile House during Asian History Month that aims for Filipino fun. My specialty drink: Ube Colada (non-alcoholic). I want to try the Lambanóg, but it's few years late and I wouldn't mind since I prefer any drink that's zero proof. This creamy purple smoothie is so refreshing, I wouldn't mind getting a brain freeze. Main course? Actually, I take something out of the lunch menu, which is Beyond Burger; pickles at the top, lettuce, tomato, and cheese; old school American style with a plant based patty! I eat the fries first since they're fresh and chewy. Wish I stick around for an appetizer or a salad; but given that there's several people dining indoors while few of us outdoors, I'll have to pass. Before I walk a couple of blocks toward 7 Mile House, I noticed the gas prices for both gas stations are just as high as near my neighborhood. I'll be wondering how long will a famous family run restaurant can go an extra mile before it runs out of steam. My best bet is that we must support each other as local communities, just like how the 7 Mile House of today had kept us together for generations.

It looks random at first but at the same time, very unique. It reminds me of a dive bar for truck drivers from the outside and heading inside, it also gives you that feeling. It's a pretty small restaurant sports bar with majority of the seating being outside. I ordered their Sisig Manila Style, Sizzling Pork Adobo with rice, Lumpia Sampler, Calamari, and Ube Cheesecake for dessert. The Sisig is our favorite pick because it's fatty with that nice sizzling taste and texture. It's bold with a good flavor and pairs nicely with the runny egg. This dish is a must. The adobo was just ok. Honestly, it wasn't my type of adobo and was too watery, thin, and slightly bland. It just tasted like watered down soy sauce and light vinegar over shredded pork meat. The calamari was a big portion and went great with the garlic aioli sauce. I also didn't like the lumpia's. The lumpia was soggy and way too bland with little filling. It didn't have that authentic taste to them which was a bummer. I'd avoid this sampler. We thoroughly enjoyed their Ube cheesecake though! It was sweet, tasty, and had a nice cream cheese texture. The makapuno coconut shreds paired great with the cheesecake and made it so unique. We'd definitely order this again. Overall, I thought it was just ok. I listened to the hype and yes, it was too much. For those that aren't Filipinos or didn't grow up having authentic homemade Filipino food, you could tell the difference. It's almost as if the dishes are "Americanized" and lacks the real ingredients in the dishes. Truthfully, I wouldn't come back but hey, there's a lane for everyone and I know this place is beloved by many. That's important.

The clientele is a generational mix, the old oak bar - a serious one. Very date-worthy, millennials and young families might give it a try as the walls are filled with distractions. That means if your date is destined to fail, at least you'll have something to look at. And don't be freaked out at lunch by the empty "set" tables adjacent the windows. Surprisingly, our tri tip and brisket came out slightly cold so it wasn't that different from delivery... The ribs were okay and not the most tender. Our server was great and service was good despite the restaurant being relatively full and served by one person. What I find the most perplexing is how they calculate the "SF mandate" fee and sales tax. I'm local to SF so I'm used to restaurants tacking on this "SF mandate"/"SF healthy mandate" fee, but their calculations just seem a bit off (see receipt). If we're calculating this correctly, 4% of $130.40 should be $5.22 and 8.63% of $130.40 should be $11.25. If you include the SF mandate fee in the tax calculation, then the $11.74 is right (if you include their calculation of the SF mandate fee). I'm not going to argue over a 50 cents or so but it's the principle of it! They should definitively state the actual % of 4.35% they're charging instead of just stating 4%. I mean at scale -- it adds up right? It rubbed me the wrong way for sure.
