    Katsu Sandwich with Taro fries
    Grace H.

I'm so glad I stopped in on a whim during a weeknight. At first I was looking for 8Tea8 bubble tea and didn't realize it was within Wok in Wok Out but that actually might be more popular than the food since the register in the front seemed to be exclusively for drinks. If you want to order food you have to walk slightly farther to the back. Even though there was just one lady at the counter during the dinner rush the wait wasn't too long. The guy who made the food was also very friendly when handing over the food which was nice. I was glad I decided to try the taro fries since making it by myself is kind of a pain with fresh taro being pretty big and cleaning the air fryer. Adding an additional egg within the katsu sandwich was also a nice touch. The sandwich was delicious. If I'm ever in the area again I would like to try some of their other dishes.

Dumplings, egg Moon Wok (2 rolls - 4 halves) and shrimp appetizers.

The food was absolutely delicious! They custom make your boba tea, and the staff is SUPER nice. I kind of wish they had more seating but that doesn't change my mind about going there.

Food is good but the cost took me by surprise. For 1 kids meal, shrimp lo mein (with 4 pieces of shrimp), boba tea, water and unsweetened tea, 50$ after tip, for me and my 4yo

Wok Bao Wow with Chicken (2 pieces) $8.88 The bun was really good but not so much the inside

This was for a carry-out order. It was completed within the time estimate they had told us. I really enjoyed the food aside from the filling of the Bao Buns and the egg rolls. The wokalicous with the chicken, beef, and broccoli was really delicious. My wife really enjoyed the pad Thai with chicken. I would definitely order it again.

Ordered the honey old bay chicken/ w/ rice lunch special. The chicken was hard and dry, only a little amount of sauce. I will not return. This was at the Frederick, MD location.

Wok Bao Wowwwwww We ate these immediately in the car

I liked the addition of panko breadcrumbs for crunch, but I wish the imitation crab meat had been shredded more finely for better texture. For my entree, I ordered the Spicy Basil Crispy Duck (added $1 for Thai spicy). They definitely delivered on the spicy level, but the duck itself was not crispy. It came with rice and bell peppers and basil. The sushi tasted fresh, which was good. Service could use some improvement. We had to ask for small bowls for soy sauce, and when we requested a dessert menu to celebrate the birthday, we were told the kitchen had already closed. It would have been nice if our server had given us a heads up before the kitchen closed. The ambiance is cozy. It almost feels like dining in someone's house. They had Halloween decorations up and murals of historic Frederick painted on the walls. They also have a private parking lot, which made it convenient. Overall, food was good, but a little more attentiveness from the staff would've made the experience even better.

Today we tried Lazy Fish because it was recommended by David's colleague. We got the Pork Belly appetizer, Lazy Rainbow, Lazy Shack, and the Lazy Spaghetti which was on the Specials menu when we went. Pork Belly: Although the pork itself was fatty and tender, and a bigger piece than we expected, although waaaaay too much cabbage and a little too sweet from the pineapple for my taste. Lazy Shack and Lazy Rainbow: LOVED these rolls! We were actually impressed by how fresh the fish was?? And the amount and texture of the rice was on point. Multiple tables next to us got the Lazy Rainbow so it seems like a popular one to get. We also appreciated the real crab that they used (although I may have gotten the smallest piece of shell in my Lazy Shack, but it was so good I didn't even care). Lazy Spaghetti: Basically like a massamun beef curry and spaghetti fusion. On the tad spicy side for me. Was really creamy and the sauce to spaghetti ratio was a little heavy (on the sauce side) that I wish there was more spaghetti to soak it up. Definitely would stick to the sushi here (although I'm a sucker for a sushi + hot dish combo). Would consider coming back to try some of their nigiris next time!

On our last visit, a few Sunday nights ago, we popped in at dinner time on impulse and were seated immediately, though it's not a big space and it gets a lot of traffic. We walked through the little bar to the interesting and well-appointed dining room. I ordered a Singha beer and my wife got her standard Thai iced tea, very well made here. We split an appetizer of delicious crispy firecracker shrimp. She got her favorite, Pad Thai with shrimp, and I got mine, creamy green curry with chicken (I chose a 3 out of 4 on spiciness, which was close to my limit!). Both were terrific, As always, the service was efficient and polite. We haven't tried this place for carryout yet, because I think we just like sitting there so much. If you like the unique flavors of Thai food served cheerfully in a pleasant atmosphere, I think you'll like Thai Meric.

Since we were in the company of a bunch of preteens, ice tea and mango bubble thingies were enjoyed by all. (For the future: they have a full bar, with everything from beers to fruity drinks to shots. I didn't see sake on the menu, but I'm not a fan so didn't look really hard). Apps were good, with serving sizes plentiful. We ordered fried calamari (served in stick form, not rings; weird but tasty), really nice tempura, and Ying Yang shrimp (the spicy may sauce was OK, but the wasabi sauce was killer!). For mains we focused on: sushi. Lots and lots of sushi. The rolled sushi menu is very long; the sushi (actually nigiri) and sashimi menu not so much. Nothing on the menu described how big the portions were so the 'dults each ordered a several different selections, both rolls and sushi. This kiddies ordered ramen, and Spousal Unit got Drunken Noodles with Chicken along with a sushi roll. Turns out the rolls were HUGE so we overordered dramatically (pro tip: ask in the future). Everything was fresh and tasty. My only quibble was that the Spider Roll appeared to be fried surimi (artificial crab) not soft shell crab. How could I tell? No legs, baby! We rolled out stuffed, with a doggie bag full of sushi for Daddy Dearest's second dinner. The price was very reasonable, and the quality far better than Lantern Sushi (but not as good as Sushi Nomo or Lazy Fish). Middle-Oldest Grand Daughter's birthday dinner was a success - and I'm already looking forward to next year's!
