I'm always appreciative of stopping by here. The food is amazing. The service is kind. Most importantly you can enjoy time with friends. I always order eggplant, rice and vegetables. It feels me up each time.

Wokcano's California Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Peacock Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, and Crispy Pepper Calamari were delicious.

I've been here a couple of times with my co-workers to grab a quick bite for lunch. Wokcano opens at noon, so it's ideal coming right when they open as they get busy. They have a good happy hour menu from 3PM-7PM daily if you're looking for food and drinks on the cheap. The Edamame and sushi I've tried have all been good. The service is really hit or miss, with servers disappearing for long periods of time even when there's few customers. One likes to blast some junk techno music - I don't know about you, but I don't want my heart racing when I'm just eating a chill lunch. 18% gratuity is automatically added to parties 6 or more. Overall Wokcano is decent if you're not worried about time.

Got here about 1.5 hours before closing and was seated right away on a Saturday night. Food and drinks were good. Service was good. The building AC was blowing so it was a little chilly inside.

A couple of friends and I came in for happy hour after work and had such a great time. We ended up ordering almost everything off the appetizer menu, and every single dish was delicious. The ambiance was fun yet cozy, and our servers were incredibly attentive, which made the experience even better. From the food to the service to the overall vibe, everything was on point. This place truly deserves a 5-star rating!

    Korean Short Ribs- very disappointing!

We visited Wokcano many times in the past and always enjoyed great dinning experiences. However on our most recent visit while in DTLA for a late night dinner, things felt very different. Valet parking is no longer available so we had to park in a dingy parking structure a few doors down where the elevators are filthy. During the short walk to the restaurant, we also encountered individuals openly using drugs, which was unsettling. Once inside, the restaurant looked run down and no where as clean and polished as I remembered. It was almost empty, which was surprising since it was always bustling no matter the time of day. Most of the dishes we tried were very good, which is why I'm giving 3 stars. However the Korean short ribs were disappointing - the meat was gristly, chewy, and had a rubbery texture. On a positive note, our lead server was extremely polite, attentive, and friendly. She was wonderful as was the rest of the waitstaff. In conclusion, we were underwhelmed with our overall dinning experience. Wokcano used to be our go to spot whenever in DTLA, but after this visit, I don't plan on returning.

Have to say that this place was great with service, timing and quality. We found it while walking around downtown and decided to pop in. The interior was divided into the front waiting space and the back bar and dining area. I really liked the dark color scheme and the vibe. The employee at the front was courteous and immediately took our order. We barely had to wait before it was ready. The food itself was amazing! The dishes were hot and fresh and were well packed. We ordered the fried rice, noodles and my favorite-the honey walnut shrimp. The portions were large and the food was flavorful and delicious. The shrimp was the perfect mix of sweet and savory with the texture of the walnuts complementing the softness of the shrimp. We went there a few times due to how good everything was!

A cute gem in the heart of downtown. I love sushi so of course this was an easy stop to make. Sushi rolls were delicious and drinks were very good as well. Service was excellent. Very friendly staff and fast service. The ambiance is a little dim, but a vibe. I absolutely loved coming here and would come again!

We enjoyed our time at Wokcano & our food! Everything was so hot, fresh and delicious! I didn't get a photo of the wings we had but those were piping hot and really good too. Our server was very nice & checked in with us often. I love the place & how it's dimly lit, great for date night. I will definitely be back.

Salad that comes with the $5 upgrade. It was so fresh and crunchy!

I came for sushi and ended up loving the Chinese food! Honestly one of the most authentic Chinese comfort foods I have had in a long time! Who knew? Kudos!!! Open late! I did not have any adverse MSG reactions! The Chinese dishes had authentic flavors and high quality ingredients! For $5 you can add a salad, soup and rice! Lively and happy vibes! I am a fan!

Short ribs that are mostly just bone and fat scraps

Tonight I ordered takeout from Wokcano DTLA. When I arrived to pick up my order, around 10:30pm, the doors were locked. This was surprising considering I needed to pick up my order and the listed hours of operation end at 11pm. The host signaled that he would not let me in and they were closed until I managed to communicate that I was merely there to pick up my order. He seemed annoyed that I was there despite the fact that the order was right next to him waiting to be picked up. The food itself was really dreadful. I got two dishes, the short ribs and the black pepper beef. The short ribs, an item I reliably enjoy from this location, were shriveled and mostly fat as if the entire order had been filled with the day's scraps. The black pepper beef was so slick and oily that it was basically inedible. Overall, it was hardly worth the $60+ I paid. Frankly, it was bad enough to make me feel like I can never order from here again and should instead go to Northern Cafe down the street. This used to be a reliable if overpriced late takeout option in DTLA but their standard is completely gone.

The ambiance has a perfect speakeasy vibe with its dim lighting and relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to just hang out and grab a quality drink. The cocktail program here is absolutely phenomenal. I am pretty picky when it comes to whiskey, and since Manhattans are my absolute favorite, my expectations were high. They mixed an incredible Manhattan that was perfectly balanced with the right sweet vermouth, and their Old Fashioneds are crafted with an attention to detail that really lets the spirits shine through. We also ordered a few Paper Planes, and they were dangerously good, hitting that perfect sweet and sour note that makes you want to immediately order another round. It is not just the incredible drinks that make this place stand out, but the exceptional service from the bartenders. They are super knowledgeable and treat craft cocktail making like a true art form, all while keeping the vibe laid-back and welcoming. If you are looking for an unmatched whiskey selection and a fantastic atmosphere in Los Angeles, this place is an absolute must-visit. Easy 5 stars for sure.

Having been here many times over the past decade, I've discovered some great bourbons, scotches, and had some great cocktails. But those days are unfortunately in years past. In a place that prides itself in its whisky, the bartenders are sorely lacking in their knowledge around their own bar. With an extensive selection, I don't expect them to know everything, but bartenders not knowing what is meant by a neat pour (straight out of the bottle into the glassware, no ice, and not mixed) was unexpected. I'm getting the impression that while they still mix old fashioneds, a scotch such as Ardbeg is now an unusual and baffling request. I've been here a handful of times in the past few months, and it can be lively or dead, but it's now just any other bar. If you want a fun cocktail you can find anywhere else, this place will do, but unfortunately it's lost what has separated this bar from any of the other bars in dtla.
